Changing L&F colours

hi
i do like the metal look and feel very much, but i'd like to provide the option of changing it just a little.
basically i want to change the title bar colour from the purple to say a green, and the background greyish-beige to say a blue.
i know it can be done (its in the look and feel guidelines - though they don't say how) but i have absolutely no idea how to go about it. i've been through the UI classes but still can't figure it out.
any suggestions as to how i could accomplish this simple task would be most appreciated.

i've actually tried something like that - UIManger.put(key, value) but it doesn't seem to work.
i looked in the source code for the key names, i may actually have the wrong ones.
i'm using JInternalFrame, which i noticed from the colours it uses those of JDialog (which i should also change to remain uniform).
not much progress i'm afraid.

How can I change the background colour when working on a doc in full screen view (pages)?

Recently I have been working on docs without the distraction of having to see my desktop around my page file by using the full screen view in pages. I do find the contrast to an all black screen too harsh though and it makes my eyes more tired than seeing the clutter of my desktop around the page. Is there any way I can change the background colour?

When you are in Full screen mode move the cursor up to the top to show the Format bar. Then look to the far right. There you'll see Background and a rectangle. Click on the rectangle and change the colour.

Well, it might depend on the nationality of your keyboard, but on my US keyboard, the tilde ("squiggle") is above the TAB key; on a Mac, ⌘-TAB cycles through the active applications and ⌘-tilde cycles through the windows in the front application.
When you do a Find, Pages selects an instance of your search text (the next one after the current selection, I think, but I didn't check that). It doesn't make the document window the front window, though. If you click in the window to bring it to the front, it moves the selection (or insertion point) to wherever you click unless you click on or above the ruler. Try clicking at the top of the document window after you do a find; say somewhere near the document name. Now you should see the highlighted selection (your search text). If you click back on the Find window, the selection will go grey again, unless you hold ⌘ down while clicking.

Someone else in the forum told me how to do this. If you have Onyx on your system then select Parameters, iTunes and turn off high contrast mode. If you don't have Onyx, I'd suggest getting it. It is freeware and used to help maintain your system. Good luck

How do I - change the background colour of the output HTML page

Captivate 5
I am publishing my project to html, but wish to change the background colour of the html page to match the projects colour scheme.
I can find no option in Captivate to do this, and it is always output as white = <body bgcolor="#f5f4f1">
I change the colours used within captivate and change the html colour of the borders, or the captivate project background, but this does not effect the html page when published.
Is this possible?
At present I am having to manual amend the html to the colour of my choice.

Can you post a screen grab of what you are seeing? The instructions Orange_Sean provided should have done the trick for you. Even though you aren't using Borders, it still should have changed the HTML background color. Unless we have unearthed a bug or something.

How do you change default greyscale colouring of graphs in illustrator CS4

I've been trying to format graphs in illustrator CS4 and can't figure out how to change the defualt colour from Greyscale to be a swatch of my own choice without having to change it manually once the data is entered.
Is there a way of changing the settings? This is driving me nuts!!!

You really can't but you can recolor the chart using a color group you define.
Describing in written words how the recolor art feature works is not practical for me so it is by a movie

BTW if you want the colors to be the value of one color just make a color group of one color and apply it or choose a one color job from the drop down.

Can you change the pasteboard colour in the new Indesign Creative Cloud?

My work has just upgraded to creative cloud for all adobe programs, which is great, except for one thing...
The new pasteboard colour is really dark, and feels backwards when I swap between viewing the pasteboard and the preview display.
Is there a way for editing the colour of the pasteboard? I found that I can change the preview colour in preferences but can't see anywhere where I can adjust the pasteboard colour.

I was wondering the same thing, as it seemed like my pasteboard just disappeared. I'm working on some documents that only have a very small amount of pasteboard around the document, and it was driving me crazy. I'm used to having unlimited space to work in. But it wasn't letting me do anything outside the document.
Changing the theme colors and/or unchecking match theme color doesn't work to get the pasteboard area back. It only changes the color during preview.
I finally found the place to fix this. It's under Guides and Pasteboard, at the bottom: Pasteboard Options. You can set pasteboard margins there.
Kind of a dumb thing to have to do, but there it is. I now have my pasteboard back. :-)

How do you change the background colour of the bottom part of calendar on iPhoto

I have created a few calendars and photo books from iPhoto, but can't seem to find how to change the background colour of the bottom part of the calendar (where you write) to match the top part where you insert the photos. Consequently you end up with a mismatch which doesn't look as good. I can't believe that apple have not considered this since here are about 5 or 6 colours to choose from on the top section. I am not running the latest version of iPhoto (which is 11 I think) as I'm not on Lion- is this significant??

Some theme will let you change the color of both pages. The travel themes, Vintage, Seasons, Kids, Colored Paper, Modern Lines, Classic (only the border around the date area), With the Big Date theme you can change the background on both pages.

Problem changing ALL the colours for Visual Composer

Hi All,
To set the scene:
I have SP13 installed.
I have created a Visual Composer model, selected the option "Enabling styling of flex controls in portal themes", and deployed it.
Then gone into the Portal > System Admin > Portal Display > Theme Editor > Selected the correct theme > Visual Composer > Flex Runtime Controls
Then changed all the colours
The Problem:
I cannot change ALL the colours. There is this blue box that borders all the form headers which i cannot seem to change. I have provided a link to a screenshot below.

The field that I would assume fixes this ("Border Color of View Header") seems to have no effect?
Anyone also had this problem or know of a solution?

If you want to change the background colour (properties) in a table from HEX to RGB, it is impossible, because the buttons are without function.
Is this a bug? Or is this intended?

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knew how to let a user change the
background colour of the flash movie during runtime by clicking a
button? I need to make something like the things you see on the
accessible sites.
I have tried using movie clipsthat are not visible then
making them visible whne they click a button, but as I have more
then one scene this is not ideal as the background on the other
scenes do not change.

As Fruhulda noted, this is a System behavior (and a source of irritation and questions since the beginning of—OS X—time). It's part of the System's way of showing which is the active window, and extends to other System set colours as well. The most noticeable (if that's the proper term for these inconspicuous non-colours) is the greying of the thumbs in the scroll bars.
Do Provide Feedback. But make it OS X feedback instead of (or as well as) Pages Feedback.

As the title says, anyone know how to change the highlight colour in a Spark TextInput component? By the "highlight colour" I mean that if some of the text is selected this would be the background colour of the selected text.

The only way I see, is to use the "Controls[]" property and iterate through all of them. But don't forget about nested elements (i.e. clusters, tab-controls, ...).
