Changing label on PCUI field

Hi All.
I'm trying to change a label for a field in PCUI (CRM 5.0) Application CRMD_BUS2000112. The field (ORDERED_PROD) is in a field group SRC_GDT_ITEM and this field group is in the field group SRC_DISPLAY_GDT_ITEM. The label displayed must change depending of the Business Transaction type, my idea was encapsulate the field ORDERED_PROD in a new field group ZYYYY with a variant and then use customizing for changing the Text but when i'm generating layout for the field group SRC_DISPLAY_GDT_ITEM the following error is displayed "Field Group Could not be read completely". Did i miss something ? a better solution for this ?

The idea of encapsulate the field in a field group didn't work. Any idea about changing the field label depending of the Transaction Type ?

Changing the label of a field in SAP GUI

Hello SAP Guys,
I would like to change the label of a field in SAP GUI.
I already did it internally because for that field the Shor Text of the label changed:
I went to SE11, and wrote down the appropriate data element, through Translation I changed the entries of SCRTEXT_L, SCRTEXT_M and SCRTEXT_S and activated this change after saving.
It is very strange that after making sure that the
Short Text of that field was changed, I went to trx BP and I could see that the label didn´t change.
I´ll appreciate any help you can give me,

Hi Efrain,
Can you tell me in which screen did you make the screen.
Moreover the changes are not reflected immediately.
What you can try is to create a new record of the transaction in which you changed the label and save the recore. After this try to close the session and reopen the transaction and this should work.
The reason is the label on the screen are not picked up from the data element everytime but from buffer. So when you create a record this updates the database table entry and can also refresh the buffer.
I had the same problem in BP transaction and the above solution worked.

Problem with changing Label in Bridge CS3 and CS6

I am having some problem with changing Label in Bridge CS3 and CS6 in windows.
1. In Bridge CS3 (Windows XP), most of the time with most of the files, there is no problem. But I found that in some files, the Label does not get changed. I usually change Label by right clicking on the picture, then Label and select any Label. When I do so in those files, nothing happens. But when I rename the file by changing or adding just a single character, then it works. And if I again rename to original name, it still works. But without renaming the Label does not change. Again this does not happen with all pictures, but occationally with some. We usually receive pictures from different clients for editing purpose.
2. In Bridge CS6 (Windows 7), if you create lot of Path using Pen tool in Photoshop for the purpose of removing background, you save the file, close, and change Label in Bridge, again open the file in Photoshop, you see no Path in the Path Pallette. So that means, changing Label works, but it removes the Path from the file. But if there is small amount of path, then no prboblem. But if there is lot of path, like you need to create for a necklace to remove background, then the problem arises.
I am using Bridge for a purpose where it is very helpful so I really need to use Bridge, and Labeling feature is the most important to me, but after feaguring out this problem, I am really tensed as to whether or not I will find a solution to this. So any help, guidance will really be appreciated.

I have re-checked the issue and I found that the problem is with JPG file.
I wasn't even aware you could save a path to a jpeg file (always use PSD because of wanting to keep the Alpha Channel, jpeg only can contain 1 layer and no alpha channels and/or transparency).
However I tried it on a file with a simple path and one with a complex path. It seems indeed you have found a bug. The simple path is no problem but the more complex path is indeed disappearing.
It is not only label but also rate or adding IPTC in the description field. The moment metadata is saved to this jpeg file and reopened the earlier present work path of a more complex path is gone.
Despite the fact that to my opinion a jpeg is not the most suitable file format for saving a work path this should not happen. If a work path is saved to a jpeg then it should be kept saved after just altering metadata in Bridge.
It still is the same behavior in Bridge CC because that is what I use. Don't know when it started but it still needs to be repaired

How to change labels in maintenance view

Hi,
i have created a maintenance view on a table.
i attached this view to a transaction.
when i run that transaction the table is appearing for display of values
and new entries. but i want to change labels of the appearing view.
is there any way?

Hi,
to handle GuiXT central in SAP: use transaction SHD0. There is also an online help for further information.
in SHD0 transaction variants are defined: alternative tcodes, where normally fields are hidden and default values are assigned.
Enter standard tcode in field TCODE, enter z-tcode in field TCVARIANT and create just something for playing...
In upper part you will find flag GiuXT-Script and in upper part is 'i'-button for help in using this transaction (this blue-i-help-button is also in starting screen, docu is implemented like SPRO-docu).
Approach with SHD0 ensures transportation of scripts and automated download to local Guis - so some help to handle bigger installations.

I have checked the technical details and found that field group acc_sres_street_v1 is exectuing for the BP address. When i have made the change to the same field group and try to generate it, the changes are not reflecting on the screen.Also the changes are not reflecting in the table crmc_fieldgrp. And if we mannually made those changes in the corresponding table then too the changes are not reflecting on the screen.

Label of PARAMETER-field on SCREEN 1000

I have created a field with the next statement.
PARAMETERS p_input LIKE spfli-carrid OBLIGATORY.
SAP puts it on screen 1000 but how can I change the label for this field. On my screen you can only see "p_input".

Change label of Standard user attributes in Create user page

Hi,
Can any one tell me where I must change labels names for standard attributes like "Form of address" and "Position"
in the Portal.
Please, I am aware of adding custom attributes. I do not need Information on that.I need to rename only standard labels. So the method getSalutation() UME API will return values for the new label (used in place of the old label"Form of address"). "datasource configuration database only.xml" does not have any fields where I can edit this Information. Can this be done anywhere in Portal Content translation.
I have seen an existing scenario,where this was implemented. Can you provide information ,As I am not sure how exactly this was done.There does not seem to be any major modification on the useradministration par file either. Where should I modify.

1.Get com.sap.portal.usermanagement.admin.par.bak from PCD .
2.Rename com.sap.portal.usermanagement.admin.par.bak to com.sap.portal.usermanagement.admin.par
3.Create a project from com.sap.portal.usermanagement.admin.par
The form labels are defined in the property file adminlabels_*.properties within the umeuseradminbase.jar. umeuseradminbase.jar resides in Portal-inf/lib folder.
4. change the values for the required key.
5. deploy the file with the name com.sap.portal.usermanagement.admin.par.
6. restart the server

There is a configuration involved in renaming the field labels..
Go through the process given below.
1. CRMC_BLUEPRINT_C
2. Layout of user interface->Application Element->Rename Interface Texts
3. First define text element with your custom label under 'Define Interface Texts"
4. Under 'Rename Field Label' input application name,view name, field group and text elements

Changing label and displaying errors

If you change the label of a standard field, e.g. Change the label of the Opportunity field 'Prospect' to 'Sold-To Account' (we do the B2B scenario), using the BSP Workbench, then how do you change the error if a Sold-To account is not entered? Currently, it references the word 'Prospect' instead of 'Sold-To'.

Nicolas, yes we thought of modifying the partner function too. But the problem we also have is that our users are wanting to change other labels where the errors are not linked to Partner Functions, e.g. Closing Date to Estimated Closing Date (Reason being is that we have an Actual Closing Date too). There are other label changes that the business wants to change that do have valid business merit.
I guess our frustration is that although SAP have made it easy to change labels through the BSP workbench, they really haven't thought the issue through to reflecting this in the error messages - unless I'm missing something. I was hoping that someone would prove me wrong.
We are therefore looking at having to create our own LUT to translate the standard SAP errors into our renamed label errors, so that the users know where the errors are. Not a great solution.

Merge field label of two fields in ALV report

How to display the change history of Z-fields in transaction BP?

we have created an append structure to table ADRC. For all fields of the structure the flag "Change document" in the data element is set. This is still working because the changes are in the table CDPOS.
But when I choose "Extras => Change history => For this field" in transaction BP the changes will not be displayed.
Any hints?

Hi Jaya,
Just do as follows :-
1) Find out in which table are those fields.
2) Then if you find them go to the table, look for the field you want the log to be created for.
3) Double click on its DATA element. On the DEFINITION tab of the data element, there is a checkbox named as CHANG
DOCUMENT. Just TICK it.
4) So every time there a change on this field from the transaction, you can look for the log in table CDHDR.

Changing data types of fields in structures

Hello,
   Currently we are working for upgrade to ECC 6.0 .
   In some transactions we are using BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA to create material.
We have some additional fields in MARA and MARC table , which we fill using BAPI_TE_MARA and BAPI_TE_MARC structures.
    In these structures we have different data types for fields earlier in 4.6C
Now this function module is only working if we change data types of fields in these structures only to char type. It is going for dump , if we maintain any other data type.
Could any body tell me why should we change for char data type ?

Hi,
Check enhancement category (Extras --> Enhancement Category) for structures before enhancement. For example, for BAPI_TE_MARA structure, enhancement category is given as character type or numeric type. That means you can add the fields of data type only C and N. No other data types are allowed. If you select as not classified then you can add any data type. This option plays important role while enhancement.
