Changing language in Adobe reader

Dear sir/Madam.
The only free version of Adobe reader I could find came to me in Polish language. I can not get an english or Spanish version. I have 2 questions :
1) How/ where can I get a free version of Adobe reader, acceptable by Google Chrome ?
2) How  (what are the steps ?) can I change the language of my installed Adobe reader from Polish to english.
Thanks for your time.

As a first consideration, please note that the PDF files provided with Microsoft Training materials are language-agnostic from the point of view of the Adobe Reader, that is, they don't influence at all the language in which the reader displays its interface.
So your problem must be related to the Reader itself, and not the training materials. I mention this because you posted your question in the Microsoft Training and Certification forum (and not in an Adobe support forum), so I have to infer that your problem
is related to the PDFs in training materials.
That said, I have installed plenty of times the Adobe Acrobat Reader from the Adobe download page (http://get.adobe.com/reader/), both in Spanish and in English versions of Windows, and it was always downloaded
in the language that matched the Windows configuration. But anyway, if it doesn't match automatically, there is a link in the download page labelled "Do you have a different language or operating
system?". If you click there, it will let you change the language for the Reader that will be downloaded. To change the language of your installed reader, uninstall it and then download and install the correct version.

Hi guys, just question that how to silencely install several specified languages for Adobe Reader X?
I know some silence switch as below:
    setup.exe /sAll /rs
=>  Silencely install all supported languages
    setup.exe /sAll /rs /sl "xxxx" (xxxx is LANG ID)
=>  Silencely install one specified language only (defined by LANG ID)
    Question:
If I would like to silencely install several specified languages, is there any other switch to do that?

  • Wrong language after Adobe Reader Update with SCCM/SCUP

After installation of the Reader Update 10.1.4 the language of the Adobe Reader changed from german to english and can not be set back to german.
I did a complete uninstall of Adobe Reader and did a manual install with AdbeRdr1014_de_DE.exe, but the reader UI is stil in english, but displaying "Deutsch" in the options dialog.
deployed with System Center Configuration Manager 2012 with System Center Updates Publisher 2011 and Adobe SCUP Catalog.

You may want to use this tool to remove all traces of previous version(s) of Reader:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, if you want to reinstall Reader, download the offline installer of the version you want from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

  • Unable to change preferences for Adobe Reader 9.4.2 on Ubuntu 11.04

I installed Adobe Reader 9 via the Ubuntu Software Center.  The installed files are located at /opt/Adobe/Reader9/
The reader runs ok except when I want to change some preferences, I've found that I can only view Preferences, but I cannot change it.  All options are protected including the Cancel and OK buttons.  I can only close the Preferences window.
Is it just a simple permission (chmod on some files) issue?
    Many thanks.

If you have the latest updates, then Acrobat Reader 9.4.2 does (at least) partially work in Ubuntu 11.10 + Unity.
There are a number of minor glitches - due to changes in Ubuntu's undelying GUI, kernal, etc. in the upgrde to Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric).
    -  floating scroll bars (only appearing when you hover mouse-cursor)
DOES NOT WORK: Does not scroll page ..
You may need to disable this feature.  (in CCSM)
    -  Edit >> Preferences
This tries to work, but loses focus.  I can see the Cancel and Ok buttons, but they don't do anyhting.
This is a GTK+ library issue, and an update to 9.4.2+ is needed.
Summary: There are a number of minor GUI issues that haev existed in 9.4.x for Linux.  The update to Gnome 3 and Unity (for Ubuntu 11.10) has definitely made this much worse.

  • Changing Font in Adobe reader?

I was doing some pages, in which I can enter the information. The problem when I got to some of the places, is the font was to large in adobe reader? I looked at preferences and could not find any area to change the size of font, so it would fit properly?
Appreciate any help. This is adobe reader 8.1.2
    thanks Bruce

Adobe Reader is used for displaying PDF files. PDF files are intended to be an accurate representation of the original document so changing font size isn't normally a feature of PDF readers.
You're probably thinking of EPUB or Kindle files. EPUB readers and Kindles let you change font size.
In a PDF, you need to zoom in on the text to view it larger. Use the normal way of doing it on an iPad: Spreading your fingers on the screen increases your zoom magnification. Closing your fingers on the screen decreases your magnification.

  • Swedish language settings, Adobe Reader

I have Windows 8, Internet Explorer 11.0.2 and Adobe Reader 11.0.06. I have problems to open pdf-files with names containing Swedish å, ä or ö, directly in the browser. I have to save such files on my PC and when trying to open the file I'm asked to choose a program from a list, e.g. Adobe Reader. Than I can open the file.  Are there any settings in my softwares tha enables me to open such files directly in the browser? Or is the problem easier to solve on the senders computor? If so, how?

Characters with accents are not a legal part of a URL. Many applications let them through one way or another, but you cannot count on it ever working, and some browsers will fail completely. Best to avoid it completely.

  • Cant change properties in Adobe Reader X

  • How can I change the language in Adobe Reader to spanish?

How can I change the actual language that I install already by mistake? I dont understand
the language and I need to change for spanish.

The old-is-gold method: Uninstall the older version, reinstall the newer version.
    Alternatively (quicker and happy version),
    1. Go to Preferences.
    2. Select Language from the left side.
    3. Look for "Application Language" dropdown.
    4. Select "Choose at application startup".
    5. Restart Reader.

  • Choosing language for Adobe reader

I have indicated my operating system and chosen English as the language.  Nevertheless I get French.  I live in a French speaking area but, as we know, French is a 19th century language and totally useless today.  I need English but the system refuses to give it to me although I have chosen it.  What's wrong and why can't I have English?  I have been messing around with a reinstallation for 3 days now and I'm mad.

I suggest that you use the cleaner tool http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
then download the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

I agree that translating computer terms to French, German, and other languages is highly ridiculous...

  • Change language of Adobe Captivate 8 interface

    Hello everybody,
I would like to change the language of my workspace: swhitch from French to English. Can somebody tell me how to do it?
    Thanks a lot!
    Louis

    Hi there
I'm assuming that your other applications are displaying in English, so I'd guess that visiting Control Panel > Region and Language has no effect?
If that's the case, you likely need to obtain an English version of Captivate.
    Cheers... Rick

  • What is Adobe Reader MUI 9.3.4 update - multiple languages

I have a choice of 2 downloads from Adobe
Adobe Reader MUI 9.3.4 update - multiple languages and
Adobe Reader 9.3.4 update - multiple languages
Both are the same size and date.
What is the difference between these?

Adobe Reader MUI is Adobe's Multilingual User Interface version. This product is capable of installing any combination of supported languages. So, for example, you can install French, German, and Spanish simultaneously and then have the capability toswitch among those languages within Adobe Reader. The user interface changes to the appropriate language on the fly.
So if you have MUI Reader 9.3.3(and NOT normal Reader) in your machine and want to update it to 9.3.4 choose Adobe Reader MUI 9.3.4 update - multiple languages otherwise choose Adobe Reader 9.3.4 update - multiple languages (for normal Reader).
To check what you have in your machine, Goto Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs and check the entry of Adobe Reader.
For MUI reader it will be
    "Adobe Reader 9.3.3 MUI"
and for normal Reader it will be
    "Adobe Reader 9.3.3"
