Changing Language on Sample Pages

In MX 2004 the sample pages instructions are in French but page heading in English. Can I change the instructions to English

If you have a submit button, you should also have a form that is submitted. The action page is initiated by the action attribute as in

How to change Language settings in Pages

When i installed ipages 08 i made the mistake of selecting english instead of british english as my language setting. I was wondering if there is any way to change it permanently to british english, its driving me mad having american corrections. I know how to change the language on selected parts of text but wanted to know if i can make my default language british english as its really annoying having to change it for every document i make. I've tried moving iworks into the trash can and reinstalling it, but i never got the option to change the language.

Welcome to Apple discussions.
Pages looks at your system preferences > international > language setting to determine your preferred language. If it's set on "English," then you've chosen American English. If British English isn't in the list, click on the Edit List button, then put Brit English at the top of the list.

I need to change language frecuently in pages, key note and works. But I haven´t found the way.

You select the text you want to be Spanish or French and make it the language you want in the Text Inspector.
It is then part of the Text style. If you want you can make a Paragraph Style which has the language as part of it in the Styles Drawer.

Menu > Edit > Spelling & Grammar > Show Spelling & Grammar > Automatic by language > change to your prefered language

I selected a two column hybrid sample page. When I look at
the CSS properties, the classes are difficult to read:
.twoColHYbLtHdr #header. That's way too much noise for me. Is there
any way for me to change .twoColHYbLtHdr #header to just # header?
I've tried search and replace, but it didn't work.

How do you change the language in iPad Pages? I tried lookin for it but I can't find it.

What a lot of confusion in this discussion!
The language of a text is a property of the text itself. If the keyboard or the language of the OS of the computer is changes afterwards, the language of the text remains what it was.
Only at the moment when text is typed the keyboard settings may be used to identify the language. If you are able to imagine a text composed of sentences in different languages you should be able to understand this.
Changing the keyboard in order to change the spellckeck only works at the moment of typing. With texts written earlier it is meaningless.
When I import a document written in German on my Mac to my iPhone and iPad, Pages on iPhone and iPad do niot recognise that the text is German. The spelling checker underlines everything. And what people complain about here is that we do not find the place where to tell Pages that the existing, imported text is written in a certain language.
Please stop mixing this up with keyboard issues!

Change language of Pages templates

Mysteriously my Pages templates have changed language from English to Spanish. I can't find where to change my language preference. The Inspector/Text/Lanugage option is not working. I have tried changing it to something else and then back again. The language does not change at all.
It seems that this would be more intuitive. My system preferences and all other programs are in English.

Hi greenspirit,
The templates use pseudo Latin as place-holder text. It is just nonsense words to show the layout. Click in a text box and start typing.

Change language for router setup page

Hello Lynksys im using older model and havent gotten around to buying a new wireless router, i was wondering is i do decide to get a newer model will my site be in english. currently i have the site in german and it will not for the love of my life translate to english?( i am in United States should my site be in german when i put in the default IP address?) Could this have been a problem in installment?

Hi! There are actually two ways on how to change the language for your router. It's either thru the setup cd or going thru the link where you can change it. If you're going to use the cd, you will have to run it again and you should be presented with an option to change the language. If you don't have it anymore, you may just go to http://192.168.1.1/language.htm, it should let you change the language. Command Spacebar opens Spotlight as you have found out. If you want to change languages you need to say what app you are using to write the story in, I'm guessing you are using Pages or MS Word. If that's the case
Pages: Open Inspector - Click the T tab - Click Language and change your language.
MS Word: Tools Menu - Language - Choose your language.

Switch language at a page level

How do we setup in order to have a link ( usually at the top-right of the page ) to switch between (for our case) ENG and CFR.
This would allow us to change language instantenously at the page without having to logoff and login again with the other language.
Right now we can only choose the language at signon time.
Looked the peoplebook and searched online but not able to find how to get this activated.

Unfortunately we try to stay away from customization.
What we found is that we can set this up via
PTools -> Utilities -> International -> Preferences ->
(Change language in drop-down box) ( From here we should see a language drop-down box at top-right of EVERY page we would open )
( So we can switch between languages for that page just by choosing from that drop-down box )
PROBLEM: We still dont know why this top-right drop-down box ( not the one in PTools -> Utilities -> International -> Preference page )
appears for some users but invisible to others.

Where is the language setting in pages 5.0?

please can someone tell me where is the language setting in page 5.0. this is for the purpose of spell check, for example, change british english to american english, the word "personalized" is red-underlined because the current setting is in british english, how can i fix this? thanks.

hmm this seems like to resolve the problem only temporarily.
when i shut down pages and reopens, it jumps back to the british spelling. how can i make this fixed to the american spelling?

Script to change language

I need to find all cyrillic characters in a file and set their language to Russian. CS3 cannot find them with grep, so I reckon on doing them one at a time, can anyone help me with an Applescript line which would find X and set its language to Russian? The cyrillic characters in the font in question (Baskerville 10 by Storm) are unicode 0401 through 0491, I'm not sure if the script line needs to be of text or glyph type...

The reset link will show on your account if you have a rescue email address on it, if you only have alternate email addresses then it won't show.
