Changing Language Without Wanting To ?

Hi,
I'm just wondering if it's possible for Mac-OSX to change the language for the keyboard, without the user doing it himself.
The admin here at my Uni told me not to change the keyboard to USA. I told him that I hadn't - and it's true: I didn't. I've been using French on my keyboards for the past twenty years. He said that I'm the only one who uses this eMac.
Is there a known bug that makes the language change?

It's quite possible. You can check in System Prefs/International/Input Menu to see what boxes are checked. If there is more than one, then accidentally hitting certain keyboard shortcuts could switch from one to the other. Even if only one is checked, random changes in the layout are not unknown. But you would certainly notice any such switch yourself, since azerty and qwerty layouts are so different.

I suspect this is unreasonable because we're talking about resetting environment variables, and I don't see any way to do that. Still, Apple could have done something interesting on top of the Unix underneath.

My iTunes has changed languages, without me doing it. How do I change it back to English?

I was using my iTunes yesterday, and it was in English, today I opened the program and everything was in Russian. Why did this happen? and how do I change it back, as the language options are also in Russian.

How can I change language without logging out?

All,
I'd like to create, say, an icon on the desktop which changes the current language (e.g. English) to a new one (e.g. Russian) when you click on it.
I'm not sure this is either easy or possible on OS X, but it sure would be convenient.

I don't think you can change the language in the programs individually, at least you didn't use to be able to. If am wrong I am sure someone here can correct me. You can however change the language for all the programs via the settings in the CC app.
I had a similar need, being a teacher teaching both in the Swedish and English versions of the programs. I simply installed one language on my laptop and the other on my desktop. Maybe won't work for your need, but a tip none the less..

You can't change languages in any of the movies offered in the store. Some movies have subtitles but it is in the same language as the movie.
Depending on what country you are in, you may get movies in that countries native language.

How can I change Firefox language without having to download it again?

I'd like to know how I can change firefox language, without having to download and re-install it again. I read there is a way to do it, but I just can't find the language file I have to download. (I have firefox in french, and i want to set it in spanish)

You need an English language version and there is no en-US language pack in Firefox 3.6. If you do not want the download the en-US version then you can install the en-GB language and switch to that version and remove the Spanish es-ES language pack from the chrome folder in the Firefox program folder.
You can find all language pack here:

You can install language pack just like extensions. 
You can set the pref "general.useragent.locale" to the preferred language ("en-GB") on the about:config page. 
You can open the about:config page via the location bar, like you open a web site. 
Use the Filter bar at the top of that page to quickly locate the pref.

Duplicate your book and try to change the theme in the copy. Chnaging the theme may change the layout of your text fileds. That is why you need the copy to be able to compare the pages before and after.
Ctrl-click the book in the Source list and select "Duplicate".
Click the "Change Theme" button in the upper right corner of the Book pane, make sure, you have the same theme selected and the same size. Click Hardcover.

All purchases are always going to be associated to the ID that was used to purchase/download them.
If you create an ID for your daughter you will want to check everywhere it is used to make sure you are not sharing messages and stuff. These would be iTunes/app store, iCloud, iMessages, and FaceTime.
Go thru settings and find all mention of your ID.

I bought and installed the Adobe CS6 in German, but if I want to have the menus in German, it will require a new license for the English version.
I need English menu as most tutorials are in english version.
what should I do so that I can change the menu in English with no new licenses.
I thought CS6 is a multilanguage software.

If you want to change the language, uninstall it and reinstall it with the language you want.
If it's a quality tutorial and you speak both languages, it shouldn't be too difficult to follow along with either language.

You need to change the language settings, however you cannot do it on an application by application bases.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

Plus address book will NOT import old address book contacts from Snow Lepoard 10.6 and keep them. This Lion OXS 7 is .. becoming very frustrating ... it will NOT keep changes made in the Address Book and it has destroyed my contacts which I only have electronically since 10.4 in my address book. I am NOT happy with this OS7 it has a lot of issues and faults. How can one stop automatic reversing of data when inputting???

Relax. Your address book database is corrupted.
If you are syncing your Contacts with MobileMe or something else, disable it for now.
Backup your address book by going to File>Export>Address Book Archive.
Quit Address Book.
Open your Library by holding down the Option (alt) key while selecting the Go menu in Finder. Select Library. Navigate into your Application Support/AddressBook folder and delete the addressbook-v22.abcddb file.
Open Address Book. It will recreate the database from the raw data.
See how that works. If it is ok, then reenable syncing and see how that works.
