Changing locale to en_US.ISO8859-1 on Solaris/Linux running SAP

My query is for SAP Web AS 7.0 J2EE system on Solaris/Linux. Default locale setting at Solaris/Linux is UTF-8. If I change the locale setting to en_US.ISO8859-1, will the SAP system and its components functionality be affected? Or will it continue to work as with UTF-8?

when the localeadm command is run for the first time, it will try to create a config file. This config file contains a list of locales and their locations in Solaris CDs/DVD.
Here is a sample of its content:

...You can run localeadm -C (Uppercase C) to create the config file. Just follow the instruction. If you are installing it from CD, solaris1 means Solaris 10 CD1, solaris2 means Solaris 10 CD2, and so on.
Once the config file has been created, then you execute the command you entered previously localeadm -a en_US.UTF-8 -d /cdrom/cdrom0. en_US.UTF-8 is part of North America region and Solaris 10 installs all locales under nam (North America).
Verify your installation by locale -a. It should return en_US.UTF-8 in the list.

BTW, the config file (Locale_config_S10.txt) is located under /usr/sadm/lib/localeadm/

but this isn't working :-(
i think that xfa.localeSet.name = "en_US" isn't the right way to change locale... any other idea?
the fact is that some numeric fields display grouping and decimal separated in the wrong way.

What's the best way to create and change local workstation account details?

Hi,
I need to change local password of an account on a number of our domain based machines. Or create the user if it doesn't exist.
We have over 200 machines so this will need to be done as a bulk job.
I've looked into doing this by GPO Preferences, but it appears that MS have removed this functionality with a hotfix.
What's the best way of doing this now, as I would have through that this is a feature that most organisations would require.

Yes all previous data will remain the same and only the opening balances and onward have the new local currency.
Make the master data change as well as including the translation method in the balance carry forward task in the configuration (UCWB) before it is executed. This will cause the balance carry forward to translate the old LC to the new LC for the opening balances.

Can CR 2008(build off Multilingual Universe) change locale as WebI does?

Description of Problem:
    An OEM Customer wants to know if Crystal Report 2008, which is built off Multilingual Universe, could change locale on User-Locale switch(for example, switch Infoview/IE locale).
    In BOE XI R3, Universe can maintain multilingual info, so that the front-end WebI can change locale automatically. This feature works fine for WebIs, however it doesn't seemt to work for CR 2008 when the report is built off a multilingual Universe.
    Is there any idea how to utilize the Universe feature in CR2008?

Defaults file - Change en_GB to en_US

I recently installed CS5 Design Premium on my computer. I also purchased InDesign Classroom in a Book to guide me through learning the software.
Before starting to use the lessons the book advises that I make a backup copy of the InDesign Defaults file and gives the directions on how to locate this file. I followed the directions, but when I got to the file, the name didn't match exactly. It was supposed to be en_US. However, on my computer I have en_GB. Did I install this software in too much haste and select English-Great Britain instead of English-US, or is the problem bigger than this? What must I do to correct this?

Yes. This is the first problem I have encountered (apart from not knowing what I'm doing), and I wouldn't have noticed it except for the need to copy this file so I can avoid messing it up as I use the learning guide, Classroom in a Book. I opened InDesign again to look for an example of the word "colors" and found it spelled "colours" as in the Brittish version.

Hi Sergey,
I assume that you mean virtual desktop storage location, which I don’t think that we can change this setting for an existing collection.
You can create a new collection, during the creation process, you will be able to select a different storage location for new VMs.

Then loan process is successfully, but i can read ever. because i change my local machine datetime when the content is expired. i hope Digital editions is can detect when user change local mechine datetime. but i can't how i do configure this.
second, i set DeviceType of content to public /always online /. Digital Editions throw information "Document is not licensed for this machine" when i loan the content.
What i do now?

XID-- Change Local User SAPServiceXID to Domain\SAPServicesXID

Hi All.
We have to change local SAPServiceXID User to Domain\SAPServiceXID User
boths users are administrators into the Administrator Group.
If we start the three central instances(Database,Abap,JAVA) with local User there is no problem.
when we replace the local user to Domain\user and tries access to http://Host:50000/rep -->The page cannot be displayed, but in SAP Manage Console, the service green and from TCODE SMICM Java stack is green too.
any idea??

Accessing Solaris 7 running CDE through NAT...

I have Solaris 7 running on 192.168.0.103 of my internal network. I have a cable modem and box running on it. I've forwarded UDP port 177 for XDMCP and TCP port 6000 to the Solaris machine. I get the machine info from my Exceed v6.0 chooser but after that, nothing happens. Anyone have any input on any other ports to map. I haven't tried sunrpc TCP port 111 yet though.

what i did was....
i created a directory /pub/bin
in that directory i have a executable shell script named netscape
in netscape

#!/bin/sh
/usr/dt/appconfig/SUNWns/netscape
------End of File -------------
change the permission, 777 on file "netscape".
if you want, u can modify the permission or apply acl if you want - but that's really redundant.
basically, in your .profile file add :
PATH=/pub/bin/:$PATH
export PATH
or else.

On your keyboard, press the CTRL and the , (comma) keys at the same time
You will see a box like this:
Stay on the first tab (as shown) and select the drop-down menu as arrowed
English (UK variety) is the fifth one from the top. US variety English is the sixth one
Select your choice and click on OK
There will be an additional piece of text under the menu now; it simply tells you that you need to close and re-open iTunes for the language change to take effect.
That's it!

Launch iTunes. If you don't currently have your menu bar up, go control-B to bring it up. Now from the "Berwerken" menu select "Voorkeuren...", as per the following screenshot:
That gets you through to the preferences tabs. Now in the "Algemene" tab, go down to the "Taal" drop down menu. Select one of the two "Engels" entries (one is English UK and one is English US), as per the following screenshot:
... and click "OK".
Quit and restart your iTunes and you should now be seeing English again.
