Changing look of Detailed Navigation

Hallo,
Can anybody tell me how to change look of Detailed Navigation globally for all pages or for certain page?
Best regards,
Josef Motl

Hi Josef,
lines between entries are not possible with the theme editor, I believe.
On which SAP EP version are you?
If applicable use the new navigation tag lib (SPS14) otherwise I would suggest to update to this version.
You can achieve any design you want with this tag lib.
Directly editing of the DetailedNavigation-iView is a nightmare (I tried it by myself). And you will have the problem of keeping everything compliante in new versions (which will be the next nigthmare).
This is the link to the documentation of the tag lib:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/42/f35146a7203255e10000000a1553f7/content.htm
Please note, that the example of the DTN iView there has a bug. See this thread for a solution:

  • Changing the Look of Detail Navigation area....

    Hi all,
    I would like to know,about how we can achieve the same look n feel of Detailed Navigation that we see in the SDN page.
    To be specific, for the Detail Navigation area we have a bar with arrows at two ends, one, to increase the size(width) of Detialed navigation area and other to collapse the DN Area.
    Here in the SDN page we can see just a white arrow to collapse the DN area ( without the two arrow sign to increase/decrease the width of DN area).
    I have tried with some of the options from the Them Editor of Portal Display but was unable to get the same.
    What customization needs to be done to achieve this feature in our EP.
    Appreciate your valuable inputs.
    Regards,
    NR

    Hi
    To achieve this in SDN we have created our own desktop, which includes our own iviews for each of the different areas. Therefore we entirely use the functionality of the EFP (Externally Facing Portal) and essentially the portal light framework.
    However, you should be able to create a something without going to all of this effort. The bit of HTML that is generated for the expand/collapse icons is done in the com.sap.portal.layouts.framework component in the WAandNavPanel.jsp (for the full portal) and light_WAandNavPanel.jsp for the light portal. You could therefore create your own layout page (based on this standard) and simply remove the HTML.
    Once you have then deployed your custom component, you need to create a page template from this, using your new custom_WAandNavPanel. Create a new desktop (or change the standard one), and replace the standard framework page with your customer framework page.
    Let me know if you need more information about this and I can try and help as much as possible. There are various other threads that include how to customise the desktop, etc.
    I hope this helps

  • How to change label of Detailed Navigation

    Hello Forum Friends,
    I have en EP 6.0 on WAS 640 SP19 on Netweaver 2004 , and I have structured a navigation hierarchy with a 2 level Top Level Navigation and with a third level in the Detailed Navigation, so that the third level constructs itself in the Detailed Navigation. But I need to figure out if I can change the label of the Detailed Navigation Iview, this is if I have in the Detailed navigation nodes relating to years, instead of having the Detailed Navigation Name in the name of the iview it displays Years as label, also in another page if the nodes in the Detailed Navigation are related to (for example) months, it displays Months in the Detailed Navigation iview name , since my boss doesn't want to see the label Detailed Navigation, but he want to have a label related to the content that is displaying.
    I don't know if I can change someting dinamically with the Detailed Navigation Iview to have this behavior or if you can provide another workaround for having this behavior.
    Thanks in advance
    Luis
    Rewarding point will be given.

    Hi Luis,
    The non-programming way to do this is the following:
    1. Make Deltalink or hard Copy of the DTN and place them in you customer specific namespace. Do this for every title you need.
    Lets say for this example 3 (Year,  Month and Week)
    2. Rename the iViews as you want (Year,  Month and Week)
    3. Add these DTN iviews as Dynamic navigation iViews to a all the pages that they need to be visible with.
    If you don't have all the content yet you could better create a page template and add the renamed iView to the different Page Templates. Then create the pages based on these templates. Saves time when you need to change something in the future
    4. Create a copy of you Frameworkpage and remove the default DTN of it.
    5. Assign this framework/desktop to everyone who needs these "special labeled DTN"
    I hope you get what I mean with this... If you want to do this with programming you could remodel the SAP DTN or build your own DTN based on TAG libraries.
    Good Luck,
    Benjamin Houttuin

  • Javascript error generated on localization of detailed navigation links.

    I m working on an application in EP KM and doing localization. when I log in with language user I m getting javascript error.
    error comes when I click on the link in detailed navigation. All the detailed navigation links has been translated in 4 languages.(Spanish,French,Italian,german). Special character problem is also a problem in detailed navigation, on Page and iviews its fine.
    anybody idea about translation of detailed navigation and any error that is generated by that link. ( We have done translation using worklist translation manually. )
    I cannot modify Script that generates errors. Because It is auto generated by SAP.
    I watched preview of available pages in that particular language, I am getting no errors.
    So I think there is no error with language.
    So what can be the problem actually?

    Hi,
    We are experiencing the same issue and believe it is a required change on the detailed navigation.
    If you are able to fix this, please can you let me know what the possible fix is.
    Thanks
    Kai

  • Caching on detailed navigation besides navigation cache?

    Hello Everyone,
    We use Btexx EasyWCM as a content management system on our SAP NW portal.
    When we create a new page in the portal it should appear directly in the detailed navigation, but instead it appears much much later, often after more then an hour. The same happens when deleting a page.
    We thought of navigation cache at first but we disabled it and the problem was still there.
    Because the new page does appear after a while, what makes it time-based, we still think it might be a caching issue. We don't know what other caches influence the detailed navigation.
    The page does appear in the PCD (role) directly after it is made, same goes for deletion.
    We tried a restart already, but that didn't resolve anything. And I donu2019t think it's a network problem because the PCD updates instantly. Just the detailed navigation doesn't. Even when we changed the customised detailed navigation back to the standard SAP detailed navigation there was no difference.
    We tried creating a page directly on the server so the caches of the proxy's etc could be excluded and the problem was still there.
    Thanks.

    Hello Sander,
    that's good to hear. But you do not need not turn the navigation cache off.
    easyWCM supports the new Navigation Cache API. If a editor changes navigation structures, easyWCM automatically invalidates the relevant roles from the cache.
    Please check if your SAP Portal release and easyWCM release supports that feature.
    More information are available on our support plattform:

    Michael

  • Changing Look & Feel of Detailed Navigation

    Hi Gurus
    I want to change Look & feel (e.g. font size, font type, background color etc) of Detailed Navigation in portal.
    Please can anyone let me know which PAR file or files I need to modify for that?
    Thanks,
    Vaibhav Srivastava

    hi Vibhav,
    I think the below article will help you to get the exact par file, how to modify and see the changes in portal.
    -it is my own article:)

  • Can you programmatically change properties of the Detailed Navigation?

    Is there an SAP EP6.0 API call to allow one to programmatically change the width of the Detailed Navigation, or programmatically hide or unhide it?  I realize that this can be preset, but I am interested in dynamically changing these values.
    Thanks,
    John

    Hi!
    If you look to the sourceCode of your EP (rigthClick->show source) you'll see that some JavaScriptFiles are loaded. One of them is called:
    "WAandNavPanel.js"
    Inside this file are some nice functions like "collapsePanel()" and so on. I didn't try, but perhaps you can use them or they can show you the right way.

  • Detailed Navigation: Change Font per level?

    Hi Guys and Girls,
    I've got a simple question. I just can't find out where to modify it. I hope it is possible without any developments.
    I want to change the font per level in the detailed navigation. Resulting in a more Website look 'n Feel.
    Eg:
    Level 1: Bold and Dark blue, Level 2: Yellow, Level 3: Black
    Hope you can help,
    Thx,
    Geert

    I'd start by editing these style sheets:
    nav_ie6.css
    tree_ie6.css
    They should be under your theme's laf directory...do a search.

    Patrick

  • Portal Theme - Detailed Navigation Changes

    Hi All,
    Can anyone please tell me if it is possible to take the detailed Navigation block as drop down from the 2nd level navigation?
    The detailed navigation block is always displayed on the left side of the portal page. The requirement is to display it as drop down from the second level navigation i.e. from the navigation panel as appears on SAP screens.
    Please tell me if it is possible and how.
    Thanks,
    Rahul.

    Hi Rahul,
    first, welcom in the SDN forum.
    About your question: No, this is not possible by standard means. The only thing you can change how the TLN works is setting a hover effect, see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/53/a16a3e54a2e946e10000000a114084/frameset.htm but this is not what you want.
    To achieve this, you would have to implement it by your own.
    Hope it helps nevertheless

  • Dynamically changing the detail navigation

    Hi all,
           can anyone please tell me how to change the detail navigation  dynamatically..
    Regards,
    Jeyasingh Samuel

    Hi Srinivasa,
    There are 2 things you can do:
    (1) You can simply set the invisible property for the iViews (I think this is what you want).
    You create a settings page which lists all the iViews, and when the user clicks a button, the page gets all the settings for all the iViews and sets the invisibility property for all of them.
    The invisibility property indicates whether to display this object in the TLN/DTN.
    Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
    env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, IPcdContext.PCD_INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY);
    env.put(Constants.REQUESTED_ASPECT, PcmConstants.ASPECT_SEMANTICS);
    env.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, request.getUser());
    env.put(IPcdContext.PCD_PERSONALIZATION_PRINCIPAL, request.getUser());
    iCtx = new InitialContext(env);
    //Create loop of all objects
        String pageID = "portal_content/DanielContent/DanRole/Folder1/Folder2/Page1";
        IPage myPage = (IPage)iCtx.lookup(pageID);
        myPage.putAttribute(IAttriView.ATTRIBUTE_NAVINVISIBLE,"true");
        myPage.save();
    The above code is for a page, but you can do the same for an iView.
    (2) If you iViews are in a page, and do not appear in the navigation tree, but you want to make them invisible, you can set this property on the iViews.
    myIview.putAttribute(IAttriView.ATTRIBUTE_AVAILABILITY,IAttriViewValues.AVAILABILITY_VALUE_AVAILABLE);
    myIview.save();
    Either way, make sure to set the personalization environment variable when you do your PCD lookup, as shown above. Otherwise, the changes for one user will affect all users.
    Hope this helps.

  • Changes not reflecting in Detailed Navigation iView

    Hi,
    I want to change the font size of the links that appear in my Detailed Navigation iView.
    When i change the font size in the List Detailed Navigation section of the Navigation Panel in my theme,the changes are not reflected in my Detailed Navigation iView.
    But changes to welcome area etc are happening.
    Could you please help me on this.
    Thanks
    Saurav

    Hi,
    try to change the "font size" or "base font size" in the "navigation panel styles" under Navigation panel, then the font size will effect to all in navigation panel.
    If you want to apply only to Detailed navigtaion iview, change in "font weight of an item" in detailed navigation list of navigation panel.
    hope this helps you.

  • Changing the Detailed Navigation link

    Dear All,
    I need to change the Detailed Navigation link so that it is right aligned and the arrow image is followed after the link.
    Ex.    Sales Reports =>
    when it is opened then the following should be the view
              Sales Reports *
                       Report1  o
                       Report1  o
    Do let me know if this can be achieved by any theme settings; if not then what should be the approach for the same.
    Regards,
    Samir

    Hi Samir,
    This is not possible by just theme settings, For this you need to modify the Detailed Navigation Par file.
    Download the the Detailed Navigation par file open the jsp page and saw the columns .

  • Changing the Position of iview in Detailed Navigation

    Hi,
    I want to change the position of the iview in detailled navigation, Ex i have 4 iviews in detailed navigation as
    1
    2
    3
    4
    now i want to bring 4 up, in the sense between 2 & 3.
    One option is by setting the Sort Priority and i'am trying with other option on role level. I'am editing the role which has this 4 iviews assigned, right click on iview 4 and using option Move-->Up. Does this method work, please let me know.
    Regards,
    Pradeep

    Hi Pradeep,
    You can try below options -
    1) Go to content Administration. Locate your Default Framework Page assigned to your Desktop .Double click it, a new window opens on right side. Out of various iviews, Check Desktop Innerpage and select Open tab. It will display 6 iviews. From the Page Content List of the Desktop Innerpage, select the Detailed Navigation iView (com.sap.portal.detailedNavigationTree) and click Properties. In the displayed Property Editor, check, set, and change the properties of the Detailed Navigation iView, as necessary.
    2) You'll get a bak file for detailed navigation area.The par file is com.sap.portal.navigation.detailedtree.par.bak. You can get this par file from server System Admin>>Support>>Portal Runtime>>Browse deployment>>WEB-INF>>Deployment>>pcd. Import this par file into ur NWDS and edit it accordingly.

  • I'm looking to change my card details, but on my account page, password, username etc ect, it tell you you can edit your payment method, but I have been through the 5 headers and there's no where at all to change it. Can anyone help please

    Where on your profile can you change your card details, got a new card and I need to apply it to my account, I have gone into profile and there is a part on one of the headers that says you can change your payment details but when you do go into it, there's nothing, nowt, nada, not a thing.
    Anybody help me please.
    Thanks.

    In a roaming network, your "main" router is the device that would require port mapping/forwarding to be configured in order to access the IP camera from the Internet. This router is also the one that would be provide the private IP address for the camera which you will want to be a static one.
    So as you described your network, the IP cameras should be getting an IP address or you assigned it a static one and this is the address that you would enter in the Private IP address (or equivalent depending on the router used) field when setting up port mapping.
    If you are not able to access this camera from the local network, then this should be troubleshot first.

  • Links in detailed navigation

    how do i add new links in the detailed navigation section? is it added in workset or page?

    Hi Arun,
    The Hierarchy of Portal object is iview, Page, workset, role. You can view application once the role is assigned to the user. If the entry point is role, role and workset appears in the Top Level Navigation (TLN) and the rest of the hierarchy appears in Detailed Level Navigation. Usually the no of items in TLN is 2. We can change it to 1,2 or 3 depending on the requirement and the rest if any will appear in the DLN. So we cannot say which object appears in the DLN.
    Also there is concept of Workset within Workset, Page within Page. It all depends how the object is packaged.
    Have a look at this documentation
