Changing Maintenance plant to Planning Plant

Dear Experts,
We have requirement like this.
Now under 1000 Planning Plant , 1001,1002 are maintained as matainance plant.
Now we have planned to change 1001plant as Planning plant, means accordingly we have changed the configuration.
Now are transporting the changes to PRD, So here before importing to PRD what are all the activities has to be considered.
As per my knowledge
1] We have to close the all the maintenance order, Notifications, Service orders has to be closed.
2] To change the Planning plant from 1000 to 1001 for all the equipments and functional location.
Apart from above mentioned activity, if any further steps need to be carried out please suggest.

You have to change BOM, Task list, maintenance plans, authorisations etc.
Where ever there is planing plant assignment exists there and all.

what doesn't it do the same ? it contains planning plant and maintenance plant which you can update ??
if you expect that SAP delivers custom functions for every possible question a developer has you can better search for an other job. SAP makes generic functions and you can use them for you're own sollutions.
it is also expected that you try to work things out for you're own sollution.
you can find sample code quickly enough if you search where the function is used
like RISTEQ01

Error when trying to change maintenance plant of a PM equipment

We need to change the maintenance and planning plant of an equipment in order to specify his new location when it is transfered. Although it is described as a normal procedure in SAP help, we receive error message IO 231 saying that "maintenance plant A and planning plant B are in different controlling areas" and SAP does not let us proceed with the plant change ! Did anybody have the same experience ? I believe that it is probably a customizing setting somewhere in FI-CO ! Any help is welcome.

Changing the Maintenance Plant
Prerequisites
It may be necessary to change the maintenance plant for a piece of equipment. For example when it is to be installed at a functional location which is in another maintenance plant, or when it is to be used in another maintenance plant from now on.
However, you can only change the maintenance plant for a piece of equipment, when the piece of equipment is no longer installed at a functional location.
Changing a maintenance plant has the following consequences:
-The system automatically clears all fields of the master record that are dependent on the maintenance plant.
-A change of maintenance plant can result in a change of company code, which causes the system to clear all fields that are dependent on the company code.
-The company code change can produce a change in the controlling area, which means that the system clears all fields dependent on the controlling area.
So for me, it is clear that having plants in different controlling areas should not prevent us from changing the equipment maintenance plant.

BAPI to change maintenance plant on Equipment

Hi everyone,
Is there a BAPI which changes the maintenance plant on the equipment. I tried both
BAPI_EQMT_MODIFY and
BAPI_EQUI_CHANGE unsuccessfully.
If any of you have an idea of any BAPI which does the same or if the plant can be changed with the above BAPI's please help.

Hi Aneesh,
When using BAPI_EQMT_MODIFY are you populating with BAPI_ILOA-MAINTPLANT = "Your value" as well as BAPI_ILOA_X-MAINTPLANT = 'X'
Don't forget to call BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT if you have no errors in your return table as well.

More than one Planning plant for a maintenance plant.?

hi Friends, can we have more than one Planning plant for a maintenance plant.Is there any advantage or disadvantage of this condition.?

     You can have Maintenance Planning Plant & Maintenance Plant in any of the follwing ratios, i.e., 1:1 / 1:n / n:1. Actually in Maintenance, there can be electrical & mechanical maintenance.
          In the case of 1:1 relation, all the maintenance activities (Electrical & Mechanical) will be planned by single Maintenance Planning Plant for single Maintenance Plant.
        In case of 1:n, single maintenance planning plant will do the plaaning of maintenance activities for all the maintenance plants.
      In case of n:1, electrical activity will be planned by one Maintenance planning plant & mechanical activities by another planning plant for a single Maintenance plant.
      Defining Maintenance planning plant & maintenance plant in different relations will help us in generating different kind of reports.

Planning plant is different from maintenance plant

For my client, Maintenance planning is done at head office which located at different place and actual maintenance done at another location (maintenance plant).
What is the effect if planning plant is different from maintenance plant?

As per the feedback given by you no need to create a separate planning plant. You create only one plant & planning plant will be the same plant only. You can differentiate the head office & the local office by different planner groups. If you create a different planning plant(head office) aslo there wont be any problem(if you wont restrict by authorisation). Plannig plant functionality is used in case of multiple plants whose maintenace is carried out by a single plant(plannig plant) so that it can plan the material requirement of all the plants apart from functionality of authorisation control & reporting. I think in your case you can go ahead with single plant.

Maintenance Planning Plant and Planning Plant are different
In Logistics you define Plant which has to be distinguished as Maintenance Planning Plant . In these Plants you will plan for all your maintenance tasks
You can plan and created
1. Task list
2. Planning and scheduling of Maintenance Plans
3.creation of Notifcations
4. Execution of Maintenacne Orders
Maintenance Plants are also termed as Plants in which your technical objects are installed
For example, if an equipment X is installed in the Plant 0001 then Plant 0001 is called as Planning Plant and this plant on its own cannot plan for maintenance activities unless it is created as Maintenance Planning Plant
if this Plant 0001 is created as Maintenance Planning Plant, then this plant is responsible for Planning and execution of tasks for maintenance
this is where your assignment is needed, if not Maintenance and execution cannot happen

One of client have below scenario:
They are planning Direct material in one plant (A), Indirect material in other plant (B) & services are planned in third plant (C). while Asset are in fourth plant(D).
Now, from here i am clear that Plant (D) will be Maintenance plant, but now which should be planning plant?
How we handle such scenario?

Hi experts can u brief me what is the effect of changing the maintenance plant in the equipment in plant maintenance of SAP?

You are moving the Equipment to another organizational unit.
Maintnenance plant of the Functional locaiton should also be changed (same as the Equipment).
After chaning the plant, the equipment is a technical object of your current plant.

A Maintenance plant in which the technical objects of a company are installed.

Maintenance Plant or Planning Plant ?

While running the report or any T-Code many times i observed there is a field ony Plant.
Like in while creating workcentere the field is only plant i know it is Maintenance Planning Plant.
If i am not wrong where ever i see the field only Plant it means it is Plannin Plant ?
Please give your comment on this.

Like while creating workcentre system is only asking for entering Plant and i know it is Planning Plant.
Also while displaying Material through MMBE there is field plant it mean it is planning plant because all the inventry of material is done for doing the planning activities so that it must be Planning Plant.
But i am not not 100% sure about the above two.
It seems that workcenter can be maintain under Maintenance Plant as wel as in Maintenanace Planning Plant same may be with inventory stock.This could be the reason system is only asking for Plant.
But to make it sure i want assurance from you experts.Please give your experts comment on the same.

Logistic plant is created by MM consultant.Why to create again maintenance plant & maintenance planning plant? can anybody please explain the logic behind it.Incase say, there is only one logistic plant created by MM consultant,if maintenance plant & planning plant is not created in this case how will it affect?can anybody pl explain this ?

Please read SAP help you get complete deteails
in brief logistic plant created by MM thats fine. As the Plant maintenance you need to have the Maintenance plant and Maintenance planning plant.
If you consider logistic plant as Maintenance plant. for this maintenance plant you need to carryout the planning ie is thorugh maintenance plannig plant.
so you need to assing to each other in the enterprics structure.
bascially maint plant is plant where you perform the maint task and maint plan is the plan aganit the maint plant you plan the maintenance .

Error Message V1810 - Make to Order No Change delivery plant in Sales Order

Hello, for a client where I'm setting the flow intercompany , but i have an error on the Sales Order when I must be change delivery plant.
Scenario: Make to Order, Product configuration, Sales Order BOM created by CS60
Step:
1 - I create sales order fo company X delivery plant 1000
2 - Creates Order BOM on plant 2000 Company Y
3 - creates MRP Planned Order
4 - Convert Planned Order to Production Order
For different issues can happen that you decide to ship the goods to a different plant than the X. Production Plant remains 2000.
If I try to change the plant on the Order system stops me with the following error:
Message V1810 - Plant can no longer be changed
Diagnosis
The plant can no longer be changed in the Following situations:
The item has been assigned to a project.
There is a production order for the order item but it is not a staticassembly order.
Already have accrued costs.
For the very complex structure of the product I can not delete the production order and sales order BOM.
How do I handle these cases?
Can anyone help me?

can you please answer some questionsa to understand your requirement.
if you want to transfer the goods from plant to plant you can do it through Stcok transfer MB1B t code.
1.then why you want to change the plant? in which element you are trying to do in sales order or production order?
2.you mention it as intercompany and MTO can you be clear for whoom you got the sales order(internal or External Customer?

Maintenance plant in organisation structure & equipement master

Hi Gurus
There is small confusion about fixing the organisation structure.In fact the client is supplying thier asset (equipment) to customers and charging rental. The Nurses are mainly supplying the equipment and then doing periodic visit, trouble shoot. Nurses spreads all over the country and they do service according to patinet location. If any issues on equipment technicians are solving. The nureses are assigning by delegator for work , however the periodic visit is planning and doing by nureses. About the repairing the workshop technicians by receiving from the client stores.
When considering to this all points I dont thing we need to insert a maintenance plant in master data, organisation structure. Is it right? I think there will be 3 planner groups delegator , nurses and workshop. Also the work center is not required since we track visits are tracking by sales and just notifcation is information purpose we decided to use. Is it right?

To identify the equipments based on location, you have to create the maintenance plant & location, assign the location to maintenance plant.
Create one maintenance plant (planning plant also same) & create work centers according to that. I guess, work centers are required as they are doing service to the patients.

IE02 - Auto clearing of Maintenance Plant when dismantling

Can anyone suggest a User Exit or Badi whereby we can automatically clear the Maintenance Plant (ITOB-SWERK on the Location tab) whenever equipment is dimantled via the Structure tab in IE02, please?

There is no BADI available but there is some USER EXITS ....

otherwise try the BAPI...BAPI_EQUI_CHANGE
for changing the maintainence plant..
