  • Changing Base Unit Of Measure in Material Master

    Dear All,
                  We need to change the base unit of measure of certain materials who have been assigned inspection plan. We have deleted the material from Inspection Plan and later even the plan. But still the system not allowing to change the BASE UNIT OF MEASURE. The error thrown by the system is : Material is assigned to inspection Plan.
    Please guide in this regard as changing the material for us will be a very cumbersome act.

    Hi Rohan,
    Please check 'display errors' in MM02 when you are trying to change the BUoM. It will say what prevents you from doing that.

  • Changing the Unit of Measurement in Material Master

    Dear Experts,
       Material DF21DENG (fert) was created with KGS (kilogram per second) as its unit of measurement. A material BOM was now created for DF21DENG.
      I intend to change the unit of DF21DENG from KGS to KG (kilogram).  On doing this in the Basic data view of DF21DENG, i get the message " change is not possible because a BOM exists for this material".
      In the BOM of DF21DENG, I set the deletion flag on & tried to change the unit in the Material master again but got the same massage.
      Please how can I effect this change?

    This response was helpful but was solved the problem was that; from the Edit, i  selected Delete  from the drop down & then the alternative BOM was deleted.

  • Change in unit of measure

    Dear Experts,
    We have one component Comp1 which was used in many products Prod1 , Prod2 , Prod3 ..... The unit of issue maintained for the component is ' m ' which we want to change it to ' kg ' . System is not allowing us to change this unit of issue as this component exist as a bom component in many products.If we remove the component from the BOM of those product , it will allow us to change .
    Is there is any way to change the unit of issue without removing the component from the BOM .
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    I think BOM is created In Master Recipe and not individually that's why you are facing this problem.So
    go to C202 (Change Master Recipe) and change your BOM here manually.For this go to Material screen.If select the required production version (in case of more then one Prod. Version).You will find the BOM tab here.Go to this tab and change your BOM.
    Change the Massage Control via below path,
    SPRO ---> Production ---> Basic Data ---> Bill of Material ---> General Data ---> Change Message Type ---> Here select Massage no. 29 - 358 (BOM can only be changed via &) and change it to warning or Dialog .

  • Can you change the units used for size and position in layout editor?

    Hello,
    In Aperture 3.4, does anyone know if you can change the units used for size and position in layout editor?  The page is set in inches, but the image size and position are given in centimetres and I would prefer to work all in inches to create custom layouts.  I can't see any way to change this.  If anyone knows how it would be much appreciated.  Thanks!

    Aperture uses the unit settings defined in the System Preferences.  Set the "Measurement Units" in the "Region" tab of the "Language & Text" preferences to "US"; the Aperture will display the Size & Position in inches, if it is the "Book" layout manager you are asking about.
    Merry Christmas!

  • Error while changing base unit of measurere

    HI
    You can only change the BUM if there is no stock  production order planned orders reservations, PO s etc are not in the system  there should be no transaction of the material ,after ensuring all this, u can change unit of measure
    For more info

  • How do I stop files changing my units preferences when opening in illustrator

    When I open files in illustrator that have been sent to me they sometimes open with the measurement units changed from "mm" to "cm" or even "in", not a huge problem but when I have 10 files for a job that are all doing the same its an extra bit of messing around I could do without.
    They can be any kind of file .ai .eps .fs .pdf etc..., when I go into my preference to change it back it shows that it is set to "mm" already?????. I can change it to "mm" again but I have to go Edit - preferences - Units - change them to read "cm" - OK, then repeat the process Edit - Preferences - Units - change back to read "mm" and that does it.

    You are welcome, maxwells3.
    When you have the time (and courage), you may have a go with some of the suggestions in the list below.
    The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
    1) Close down Illy and open again;
    2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
    3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
    4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
    5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
    Even more seriously, you may:
    6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

  • Application measurement/unit preferences (picas vs pixels)

    Hello,
    I need to adjust the geometricbounds of an Image within a rectangle via a JS script. But when I get the Geometric bounds for my image, it is not using the pixels unit for measurement, its using picas. However, if I manually adjust the preferences in my Desktop Indesign to Pixels, the script runs correctly.
    How can I change the preferences to "Pixels" from within my script so that I don't have to check manually?
    Thanks in advance!!
    Lloyd

    It should be possible to test a document for its measurement units then use unit values to do the conversion… This was with a quick play NOT very well thought through I must admit but it may be the way to go on this…
    #target indesign
    app.activate();
    var docRef = app.activeDocument;
    with (docRef) {
         var uU = userUnits(docRef);
         $.writeln(uU);
         var rb = spreads[0].rectangles[0].geometricBounds;
         $.writeln(rb);
         // 9.99999999999999,9.99999999999999,80,110 as millimeters my prefs
         var a = new UnitValue(5,'pt');
         $.writeln(a.as(uU));
         // 1.76388888888889
         var nb = new Array(rb[0], rb[1], rb[2]+a.as(uU), rb[3]+a.as(uU));
         $.writeln(nb);
         // 9.99999999999999,9.99999999999999,81.7638888888889,111.763888888889
         spreads[0].rectangles[0].geometricBounds = nb;
    // I only bothered to check in one direction…
    function userUnits(doc) {
         switch (doc.viewPreferences.horizontalMeasurementUnits) {
              case 2054188905 : uU = 'pt' break;
              case 2054187363 : uU = 'pc' break;
              case 2053729891 : uU = 'inch' break;
              case 2053729892 : uU = 'inch' break;
              case 2053991795 : uU = 'mm' break;
              case 2053336435 : uU = 'cm' break;
              case 2053335395 : uU = 'ci' break;
              case 1131639917 : uU = '?????'; // What do with this?
         return uU;
    It would appear to give me the same results as using mixed measures in the GUI but I've not tested much…

  • KEPM - conversion of measure unit

    Hi gurus,
    Does the conversion of measure units in KE4MS works in KEPM ?
    When i do the forecast i plan in UN (units) but i also want to convert that quantitie to KG.
    This conversion is working on the CO-PA actual values but in the planning doesn't.
    Any idea,how to convert it automaticaly ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    In KEPM is not carried out any translation or recalculation based on the unit of measure (UOM). If the respective UOM is a part of your planning level, you always enter the UOM you want to use and enter the respective value of the quantity field which is related to the UOM you entered.
    Thus you can plan with more than one UOM for one product (this represent more lines in layout in KEPM).
    On the other hand when the UOM is not a part of the planning level, you enter only quantity and the related UOM is derived by the system based on your customizing in the derivation.
    So that in the first case the UOM is entered directly by user, in the second case it is calculated by the system automaticaly. There are no retranslation between different UOM. As soon as you have entered the planning data with the given UOM, this data exists and you cannot change somehow the UOM expecting recalculation. You can only change the quantity or enter new object with new UOM.
    After the derivation is checked, if the derived UOM is the same like the original UOM (since it is not allowed to copy e.g. 10 KG and than post the data for 10 POUNDS) then the data is posted. But for some objects it is not the same and hence the error msg KG076 is issued.

  • Changing metric unit in Prime Infrastructure

    Hi,
    By default, all measurements are displayed in feet, but I want them to be in meters
    Anybody knows how to do this?
    Thanks

    Thanks a lot, Stefan
    I managed to change the unit
    However, there seems to be errors when I scale the map. I had to change it back to feet for the scaling to work correctly. After a little research, I found out this is a bug of this version (PI 1.2). I'm upgrading to v1.3 now

  • Measurement unit to estimate job role maintenance effort

    Hi all,
    Can anyone share some ideas or experience in this case:  In system ERP2005, developer provide all job role menu tcode, org level values and authorization object values, job role administrator only need to follow all provided information to create job role, generate profile and create transport.
    The question is what measurement unit should be used to estimate job role administrator effort. My first idea is number of authorization objects, e.g. S_TCODE, S_DEVELOP, S_DATASET....
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Julius,
    Thanks for your suggestion.  In our case, developer knows all the required authorization objects before pass it to job role admin, therefore the effort of admin is minimal.

  • Setting Document Measurement Units

    Dear Forum Gods,
    I am trying to use a VB script to set what I believe to be the Measurement Units - that is, the units displayed on the horizontal and vertical rulers when opening a document. According to the scripting guide:
    myDocument.viewPreferences.horizontalMeasurementUnits = MeasurementUnits.inches
    myDocument.viewPreferences.verticalMeasurementUnits = MeasurementUnits.inches
    This does not appear to do anything.
    Log reports error 30480 -- which I cannot find any information on.
    Your help is appreciated!

    Thanks, I changed the syntax but it still doesn't seem to work.
