Changing my iTunes Library's sourcefolders

Yesterday, someone gave me an External Harddisc as a present, because my computer hasn't got any space left. I just installed my HD, and now I want to move all the files in my iTunes Library to that Harddisc. The problem is though, I have many folders from which I add music to my library. My main folder is a shared folder, an iTunes Music folder for the CDs I imported, and then I have several other smaller folders. Is it possible to move all the items I have in my library to my Harddisc, without re-adding every single track in my Library? I'm talking about 2000 songs, several podcasts and about 4 movies (31GB's of Mediafiles).
I hope someone is able to help me.

My recommendation would be to set this up as a brand new iPhone, just as if it came out of the box.
Do that in Settings > General > Reset > Erase all content and settings
You will then be directed to the welcome to iPhone screen, just as you would with a brand new device.

Copy everything ( itunes, pics, contacts,calendars, files docs,etc) from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

Changing my iTunes library directory

Hello. I am trying to move my existing music library to a network storage device to free up my computers hard drive. I have tried (without luck):-
- copying my music files to the storage device and then setting my new folder as the iTunes music folder location
- copying the existing iTunes library file to the device and setting it to target the new music files also on the device
I have had no luck. iTunes always wants to refer to my hard drive for the library file, but will happily find and open the music files from the external storage device.
Any help would be appreciated, I have run out of logical ideas and have thought about removing and reinstalling iTunes, but there must be an easier method to change my library directory.
PLEASE HELP>

It will move all the music files to any drive you want. Make sure that the drive is connected and available prior to opening iTunes to play music.
Also remember to change the music folder location to that networked drive within your Preferences. If the networked drive is down when you open iTunes, it will revert to the default internal drive and change your Preferences automatically.
iTunes always wants to keep the Library database file in the 'iTunes' folder on the main drive (usually under the '...\My Music\iTunes' folder). This can be changed only by using a special program to redirect the folders in XP.

After reviewing the library on my ipod, I wanted to make some changes to how certain artists & songs were filed (mispelled some artists, changed some compilation settings...). If your iPod is set to update and sync automatically it will pick up the changes next time you connect. You can also sync it yourself when it's connected, right click on the iPod icon in iTunes and choose Sync from the menu that appears.

Changing which iTunes library iPhone sync's to

Here's my set up:
I have a bunch of music set up in an itunes library that lives on an external drive at home. I don't really use this to listen to music, it's just my database and what I sync my 60gb ipod to.
I have a second itunes library that lives on my macbook, with significantly less music on it, to save hard drive space.
My girlfriend shares the computer, but is currently working out of town. The problem is that her iphone is synced to the external hard drive library (which is an old beast of an external drive).
I want her iphone to sync to the macbook's library so that she can change up music whenever, as I always have the macbook with me. So how does one change which library an iphone sync's to, and how do you it without losing apps, phone numbers, etc.

I'm just guessing here, but if you log out of itunes and create a new user ID, would that work??
Or just create different playlists and when you sync your device you can check and uncheck which playlists to sync.

How do I change my Itunes library to another computer without losing anything or replacing my existing files with ones on the new pc?

I recently broke up with my girlfriend and I'm trying to switch all of my info. around to my new place and pc. How do I save all of my existing files of music, etc. to the new pc and start a new itunes library using what I already have? Firstly, I caution your approach to allow users to alter the orientation of the report. Crystal Reports doesn't adapt too well when the orientation is modified. You'll end up with fields dropped off on the right hand side of the report, or with a large gap on the right. Our engine doesn't do any auto adjusting of fields when you alter the orientation.
In order to see the changes it is best to re-load the page and get a new viewer. You can choose to store the ParameterFields in a Session variable for re-use on the post back so your users aren't re-prompted for values.

Unable to change my iTunes library path

Happens to me as well on Windows 8, but even earlier. When the pop-up dialog to select a new library location appears, iTunes crashes immediately.

How to change "previous iTunes library" header after choosing and old library

This worked for me on windows vista ultimate:
- Open itunes with shift press down
- Create a new library, by default, it is created at C:\Users\"your user"\Music\iTunes\iTunes
(different location from where it is originally), close iTunes
-Now remove the 4 files created on C:\Users\"your user"\Music\iTunes\iTunes
- Locate C:\Users\"your user"\Music\iTunes\Previous iTunes Libraries ; note the added date to the files*
Note: if you have more than one previous version of the library, Note that it comes on groups of 4 check the size of the files and choose
- Copy and paste those 4 files to C:\Users\"your user"\Music\iTunes\iTunes, where the new library was created
- *Remove the added date to the 4 files (make sure there is no space between the . (dot) dividing the extension and the word library on each file.
- Now, open iTunes back again and salut your normal "iTunes" header

Syncing apps after changing computer/itunes library

I used to sync my iphone apps with computer A.
Then I reformatted computer A, and decided to stop syncing apps anyways on that machine (a laptop with very little disk space).
Computer B, which has always synced the iphone music, my desktop, is now running itunes 9 and usually I haven't cared to sync apps (why bother!), but itunes 9's app management screen needs me to sync!
When I select the sync box I'm told it will delete and replace all apps on the iphone with those in B's library. But B doesn't have anything! (I deleted anything it did have, again to save space).
How do I make the iphone start syncing apps with my B desktop, by effectively starting by copying-all-apps-from-iphone-first?

Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your phone without syncing. Transfer your purchases as pointed out by Allan. When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards. Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the phone for the first time.

How do I change my iTunes library from albums listing alphabetically back to artist listing alphabetically. Before the last update to iTunes, everything was listed by artist, now it all is listed by album name. I can't find a way to return it to artist

Before the latest update to iTunes, everything was listed by artist. All albums by the same artist were listed together. Now they are all separated by the name of the album instead of the artist. How do I return to the other format?

Are you viewing it in Artist view or Album view? In Album view, it should still list albums by artist name, then album name. If you're in Album view, you might be looking for Artist view.
