Changing name of device owner

When setting up my mouse, it asked me to name it. When I just paired my keyboard with my powerbook, it named it the persons name that was the previous owner of my powerbook.
I deleted device and started over, thinking that I overlooked the nameing option, but it did the same thing.
Any suggestions?

I think the it associates the name to the device address and that name is kept somewhere in the machine. You should rename your device. Try to access System Preferences, Keyboard and Mouse, then click the Bluetooth tab. Enter the new name in the box and close the window. Hope this helps.

How do i u acsess my bluetooth settings thru my phone to change name etc. Also cant connect to any devices

What devices are you trying to connect to, and are they in pairing mode? Is the phone in pairing mode? The iPhone only connects to audio devices and to computers for tethering. You cannot use BlueTooth on an iPhone for file transfers to other phones or computers.

  • How do I change the name of the owner of my MacBook pro

So my laptop somehow chose my moms name for the "owner's name" for my laptop. So everything says it's hers. How can I change it so that instead of her name- it's mine? This isn't just on the user icon when you log in- I changed that to my name, but everything else is in her name.

  • HT5287 How do I change the name, Under Devices, of Remote Disk or Untitled to a name that reflects what I want.  In this case" Flash" for USB thumb drives.  Also will this create confusion when I connect my Superdrive?  Meaning, will it still be called FL

I want to change the name under DEVICES, left column Remote Disk, Untitled  to FLASH USB, and still have it read my Superdrive when I connect it?

Each Volume (partition) on a device has a name.
When it is mounted it will appear with that name as an icon on the desktop, and under devices in the sidebar.
Typically a USB flash drive would only have one volume.
They may initially come with names like Untitled or No_Name etc.
When mounted you can rename any USB drive (Or individual Volume if there is more than one partition) by using the mouse to select the name on the Desktop and hold the selection in you can edit the name. That name will stay with that particular drive and will show every time it is mounted.
CDs and DVDs may well have a name which will show when they are mounted. When you make a CD or DVD you can provide a name when making it.
It is good practice to name a new thumb drive or USB disk when you get it to avoid the confusion you seem to be having. Simialrly to name any DVDs or CDs you create

  • CiscoWorks Shadow Directory File Name After Device Rename

I have noticed that when a Device is renamed through Common Services --> Device and Credentials --> Device Management --> Edit Identity, it does not rename the config archive file name in the shadow directory.  Changing the Display Name, Host Name, and IP Address for Device Properties.  All of our devices are named with the IP Address of the device so we have the IP Address for the Display Name, Host Name, and IP Address.
Example:  Device with the name of 10.10.10.10 has a config archive in the shadow directory with the file name 10.10.10.10.cfg.  When the device is renamed to 10.10.10.20 it still continues to config archive ok but keeps the file in the shadow directory as 10.10.10.10.cfg.
Is there a way to get the config archive shadow directory file name to change?
    Thanks.

    Hi.
Kindly try resubmitting Device under RME (RME ->Device management -> Normal Device ->Select that particular Device and click on resubmit) and once it is back to normal state, then try to collect Archive after performing any change on the Device and see if it updates the Name of the Device under Shadow Directory.
If above steps does not help, you need to delete and re add Device under Common Services --> Device and Credentials --> Device Management in order to get the correct name reflect under Shadow Directory.
Kindly let me know in case you have any doubts regarding the same.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Nikhil

  • Need to change name on Track Changes

I purchased this MAC all-in-one from my nephew, and although he has deleted his name as the owner, his last name keeps showing up as the person who makes suggestions in Track Changes.  I need to eliminate him and add my name, but I can't figure out how to do it.  Help?

If you're asking about Microsoft Word's "Track Changes" feature, you'll need to change Word's preferences. Look under Preferences > User Information.

  • Change Name of iPad?

Can I change the name of my iPad? There might be an issue with my home modem - I named my iPad after a website and can no longer see the site while at home.

Yes. When your iPad is connected to your syncing computer just click on the iPad's present name in devices and change the name like you would a file name.

  • Change name of airpoet express network

How to change name of wifi network?

If you change the name of the wireless network, you will need to log on to the "new" network with each device on your network.
Once you have done this, the device should remember the network so that you do not have to enter the password the next time that you connect.

  • Changing names on Verizon bill?

Does anyone how to change name on your account?

What kind of a name change?  If you married and want to update the name, call CS 800-922-0204 or visit a corporate store with documents to prove your name change.
If you want to change the account and put it in someone else's name, an Assumption of Liability is what you need to do.
If you want the caller ID to show a different name, you can change that in your my Verizon account, under Change Features >> Share Name ID.
And there's a new feature on your MyVerizon homepage, if you are the account owner and have more than one line, you  can "name" the lines with the person or a nickname so it's easier to tell which line belongs to who.
If none of these seem to be what you want to do, can you post back with more details of what it is you want to accomplish?

  • Changed name of iPhone, now will not sync with iPad.

I rebuilt my iMac.  And changed name of iPhone.  Now my iPad does not sync with iPhone. I purchased app on iPhone but does not appear on iPad.  How do you set up iPad to sync with new iPhone.
Furthermore my iPad is not showing up in iTunes when I initiate a wi-fi sync from iPad.   I see the sync icon spinning on iPad but do not see it in iTunes.
All this may be stemming from fact I just rebuilt my iMac.  Prior to the rebuild he iPhone and iPads both synced with each other and the iPad would show up in iTunes when initiated sync from iPad.
I look forward to your replies on this.

  • Converting Video to iPod, can you change name of file

When you convert Video to iPod format, can you change name of the new file or put some "marker" so one can tell which is the orginal and which is the new file?
Currently it is difficult to tell between the orignal and the new file.
    thanks in advance
    Rohit

You'd probably be better off doing this sort of editing in iTunes, and letting it move the files appropriately.
Go to the preferences, Advanced tab, and check the box to 'Keep iTune Music folder organized'. Then any changes you make to song names or other info (within iTunes) will automatically be applied.
