Changing names for compressor files, nothing works yet.

I've read different posts on how people have to change the name of the file before compressor will complete any sort of compression.
Happened to me too constantly. So I'd just change the name once I got that red exclamation mark and then it would just finish compressing just fine.
This time I changed the name before I clicked submit.
The name of the file was Animal Control.
But before clicking submit I named it Animal Control Audio, and Animal Control Video for both files.
And I still got the stall out with the red exclamation mark.
This is no good since I feel like I can now no longer rely on Compressor if I need go go somewhere.

I'm having a hard time understanding your question. When exactly are you getting the exclamation mark warning, before or after submitting?
If you're watching the History window in Compressor after submitting your encoding batch, then QMaster writes a file with the name you specified. In this case, when Compressor is still the front-most app, it will see that new file being written in your destination directory, and will put up the exclamation mark ... this is normal behavior.
Also, have you tried setting a different destination to see if this clears up whatever problem you're having?

dont you have used the os user while calling the FTP_CONNECT FM?
Hope you are not talking about the user executing the FTP program.
Else If you are talking about the FTP file creator then its not related to abap as you can handle it by maintaining the user in file name itself.
May be i am going too far with if and elses here as your question possesses no clarity.
Plz elaborate your requirement before anybody can help.

Safari, iTunes, software update iCal not connecting. Firefox is fine. Tried Proxies, but not sure what to do there. Only one box was checked, I unchecked it, and made no difference. Have also tried some other DNS numbers, nothing worked yet.

I have found some archieved discussions about this, but none that went into detail about how to fix problem using proxies - I don't really understand what they are/ do.
I went into the Proxies screen, Only one box was checked, "Use Passive FTP Mode (PASV)" I unchecked it, and made no difference. There was also some stuff written in the "Bypass proxy settings for these hosts and domains" I deleated that and nothing different happened. Have also tried some other DNS numbers, nothing worked yet.
Any suggestions?

I still have no idea what was wrong with Safari last week, but I opened it today, and its all working! Hurrah!

Hi Chemmanz,
The dynamic filename generation concept is as follows.
In your filename field. just give a variable with % symbols. (eg: %file% ).
Now, under the option Variable Name Substitution, you can give how the value has to be created.
It can be your interface name, sender service name, etc or it can be some value dynamically from your payload.
For the former, your give
message:interface_name ,etc
and for the payload part you give,
Payload: "your element root which u wanna acecss"

Change ZFS root dataset name for root file system

A quick one.
I accepted the default ZFS root dataset name for the root file system during Solaris 10 installation.
Can I change it to another name afterward without reinstalling the OS? For example,
zfs rename rpool/ROOT/s10s_u6wos_07b rpool/ROOT/`hostname`
zfs rename rpool/ROOT/s10s_u6wos_07b/var rpool/ROOT/`hostname`/var

Followed Tiscali set up info for Thunderbird and nothing works.

Changed from Outlook Express to Thunderbird on Win XP computer. Followed Tiscali set up info. Tiscali confirm the settings are correct but nothing works.

I followed the Tiscali set up info to the letter. I could not send any messages. I always got the same error message. I then read the Thunderbird technical article re these error messages and found that I needed to complete the "user name" section on the Accounts settings bit, something that Tiscali did not mention at all. Doh!. Problem solved within 30 secs!

How to change names of referenced files

Normally when I import RAW/JPEG pairs into Aperture I check the "rename original file" tick box so the original file names have my desired format (yyyy-mm-dd_myfilename-nnn). However, I inadvertently have imported a few projects with that box unchecked, so while the images in Aperture (and those I export) have my desired naming, the original referenced files still show as DSCF1234 etc.
Is there a way to change those original referenced frills to my date-name-index number scheme short of deleting the entire batch and performing a rename again - I have already dome various edits on them and don't want to lose those.

If you do not need to save the version names, yes. Batch change the version names and set the flag "Apply to original files".
Select all images that need renaming.
From the main menu bar select "Metadata >Batch Change"
Select a suitable preset for the file name you want in the Version name format drop-down menu.
Set "Add-Metadata From" to "None", unless you want to add metadata as well.
Press "O.K."
A caution: I have never tried this on "RAW&JPEG" pairs. You may have to do it twice, with each kind of original set as master. It is working well with JPEGS, but for RAW files "Apply to original" may not work.

How to change name of home file on mac

Hi, not entirely sure of the name of this file. Currently it is "anthonycullinane" which is my fathers name, it was changed when my iMac was taken into an apple store for a service, i don't have a clue why it would've been changed but i'd like to change it back

You cannot rename your user account name easily. You need to do some extra steps and use the root user, so be very careful and make a backup of your files before modifying anything.

Unique file name for saving file on server.

I am having a servlet which will be used to save a file from client machine to server.
Now, this servlet can be used with multiple users through web at same time.
All user will be uploading files.
There will be cases where 2 users from different location will upload files with same name.
Thus, it is important for me that I append some string in uploaded file name, so that file name stands unique.
How can I get this unique number.
Is there no instance number for generated class !!.

Get old item name for renamed files using TFS API

My current tfs will be retired in next few months.I am using tfs api to create a parallel tfs on a new server from the existing one. I have folders and solutions that have been renamed. I am iterating items and based on their changetype(add, edit, delete,
sourcerename etc), I am checking them in destination tfs.
I am not able to get Old filename for a file, in order to use PendRename when the item that is being iterated is Delete|SourceRename or Rename.

But, my changeset has a lot of changes and hence identifying a particular file seems difficult.

As Daniel mentioned, you can migrate source control files and work items to the new TFS server by using TFS integration tools.
If the new server has the complete history, then you can view the history of the specific file to check the pervious path. Or you can do a compare between the project in new TFS where the file located with the matched project in current TFS to check
the differences.

Default name for a file

May I try to explain my problem ? Well, I'll do with my basic english ...
When a pic is ready to be recorded, PS use the default name (for a jpeg file, for instance) : "Sans titre - 1.jpg". Is it possible to have a name like : "Sans titre - 01.jpg" or : "Sans titre - 001.jpg", I mean with "0" or "00" juste before the number.

Of course it is... There is no way to change the default name in the scan, because there is no default name ; if using the scan as independant software, the options for the file name depends of the operating system (W7).
When I use the scan in Ps :
- I put the slide in the scan,
- I press Ctrl+Alt+"!" (a shortcut I created to replace Fichier > Importation > Nikon Scan)
- the software of Nikon Coolscan opens automatically,
- I "press" the button "Numériser" with the mouse,
- at the end of the process, the software of the scan closes,
- the pic is avalaible in Ps, with the defaut name : "Sans titre - x".
If I do the same thing with an other scan (for example, my Canon Pixma), the same happens, always with the same defaut name.
Well, it's not so important... I must just pay attention to change "Sans titre - 1" > "Sans titre - 01", etc.

   I had tried Utilities---->change logs , but unfortunately i cannot find any changes logs
   But there are changes made to the logical paths in my system but i cannot see them in change logs

rec/client is a profile parameter, you can view the settings in transaction RZ10. However I find program RSPARAM more useful, the report lists all system parameters with their default and altered value. Also if you double-click on a parameter you can get to the full help text for its meaning.
The parameter essentially switches on table change logging for configuration tables (based on the technical settings of the table) and has to be set before the changes are made.

    I have one scenario in which we are creating a flat file of IDOC which is coming from R/3 & sending it to FTP location. For this we have configured Receiver FTP adapter with File Name Scheme as "NT.out" & in File Consturction mode i have given as "Add Time Stamp".
    therfore while creating a file it is creating as NTyyyyMMdd-HHmmss-SSS.out
where as my requirement is only to to add Time & not the Date. (NThhmmss.out)
    How to do this ?
    for your info we are using ABAP Mapping.

      Add one more field to your target structure for your file name and populate that field as per your requirement like NTyyyyMMdd.out. In receiver communication channel use Variable subtiution option and give the refrence of Payload and file construction mode set as create.
