Changing # of audio tracks -no "clip settings" option?

I'm logging clips and realized I only selected 1 audio track instead of 2. Now I have about 50 clips I need to change from 1A to 2A. I read in discussions that if I do "Modify Clip Settings" I can make the change easily.
Only problem is, I have no option for "Clip Settings" under "Modify" in FCP 4?
Am I out of luck?

To add to D Gilmore's post, I think when you go to batch capture you can specify to use the settings in the log and capture window rather than those associated with the clip. Be sure and do a test on one clip before capturing all your clips.
If this doesn't work, you can export a batch list and then modify it in a wordprocessing program.

  • Can't add a new audio track without any settings

Can anyone tell me were faced with the same problem. Doing audio post production in Logic Pro X, the latest version, the project is big, At some stage the work I was faced with the fact that you can't add a new audio track without any settings, no matter what inserts I track with duplicate settings of one of the tracks and it begins to sound with this track. I don't add a new audio track with duplicate settings. I add a new one, and I still opens the track with some sort of settings. What is it? This is a glitch or I'm somewhere that we have not considered? Duplicates the configuration of one of the tracks collected in group 1, which I did for editing convenience. Duplicates and also automation and if the new track am I doing something then this machine is transferred to the existing track from this group.

Everything works in full 'Logic Pro X' mode. It's just a glitch in my project. The problem while you decide this: I insert a new track and it reset and set the output.

  • Audio tracks are clipped after export to Quicktime

I have a small (16 slides) keynote file that runs perfectly in Keynote.
I have individual voice audio files for each slide as well as a seperate "master" soundtrack running in the background.
When I export to QT the individual voice audio track is clipped off at various times on each slide. The slide's other transitions continue to run with the background music playing just fine. The next slide begins as expected, playing all sound files, until the individual voice audio file is cut off again.
Exporting at different resolutions seems to produce the same frustrating results.
The background music is a QT movie file. The voice-over is an Mp3.
    Thanks for your help.

Doesnt solve the problem. the soundtrack is synced at first but then is progressively, increasingly out of sync. A couple of seconds late on a 7-minute film.

  • Change video audio tracks in the n900 standard pla...

Anybody knows if It's possible to change into the two audio tracks of a divx video using the standard video player of the n900?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You'll need to register an account on bugs.maemo.org first, but after that you can search and create bug reports. Give a much information as possible. Remember to log the bug under the right application (in this case, the media player would probably do)
After that someone will pick it up and you should get some feed back. Other people with the same problem can follow your bug too..
I recently logged a bug about firmware availability in the UK and it has been solved/fixed.. so some bugs do get attention!

  • Editing audio tracks in Windows/Properties option

    Hello all
Can someone please tell me whether I can edit an audio track in the windows/properties dialog box? I'm trying to synchronise a sound track with a video/movie and am having a little difficulty getting the various bits of music to start and stop precisely where I want them to. It occurs to me that if you can edit in the windows/properties box, you can fine tune the precise start and stop times (displayed in time/frames).
Or maybe there is another way to do this (apart from highlighting desired section of movie and then adding an audio track with "add to selection and scale") which someone can tell me about?
I also wondered whether it is possible to "view" the audio track simultaneously with the video?
    With thanks
    MB

You don't edit tracks from the Movie Properties window. It is for viewing the tracks, adding annotations, applying masks or setting transparency or layers.
You can "extract" tracks to edit them in this new Player menu. You can play more than one file at a time (View menu / Play all Movies).
You can "fine tune" making a "selection" (in and out points) by holding down the Shift key as you tap the right/left arrow keys. This may help you synchronize the audio to the video track.
Using "Add to Selection & Scale" makes (forces) the tracks to have the same duration.

  • Unrendered Audio - sequence and clip settings are the same

When I drag a clip to the timeline a redline appears on the top of the timeline. I know this means that there is a setting issue between the sequence and the clips. All the settings are the same with the exception of the:
audio format - Clip: 8 bit integer
    Seq: 32 Bit Floating
    Audio Rate - Clip: 48000 5kh
    Seq: 48.0 KH
The clips which is 1 1/2 HR takes 6 minutes to render.
Does anyone know why I need to render this clip?
Macbook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Here: a foolproof way to ensure clip-sequence settings match up:

And if you still have the problem, why not convert it to AIFF via QT?

  • How do I change an audio track an octave lower?

My son wants to create an octave harmony (he's 10) and can't hit the low notes. He wants to lower one vocal track by an octave. I offered to sing the lower track, be he'll have none of that
    Thanks

Pitch shifter plugin? Vocal transformer plugin? They are great for this. By changing the formants also, you will be able to prevent your son sounding like Darth Vader.

  • New user:  I can't find the zoom option (to try and sync audio tracks/sources wav to a clap)

Hi guys.  I LOVE the rendering speed/quality etc of single videos but I'm running into trouble syncing videos/audio from 3 sources.  Basically I have a Nikon D7000 and an Iphone taking two angles of me playing guitar.  I want to sync all of them to an audio clap or a click but I can't seem to find the zoom option where I can get right in on the wav files to match the peaks of the clap.  I am also having trouble with the video clips I am dragging seem to lock magnetically to other clips or wherever my playback marker is.  I want the clips to drag/move freely (and tiny increments) and not lock into any time interval etc.
I also would like to find the mute button for some of the tracks.  It seems to be really basic stuff, but I can't seem to locate anything obvious to zoom, drag and get my timeline in sync.
It took me a long time to sync my audio to an iphone angle for this clip:
    http://youtu.be/4B9TMQg9KXQ?list=UUd_A29XG4JvzkyGNcuXcuiQ
My D7000 is a MUCH better image, but juggling that, my iphone angle and the audio that gets recorded by my DAW is a struggle.  Any tips would be appreciated!

Thanks for the reply with details of your Premiere Elements version and computer operating system.
    1. Zooming in on clap in wave form of audio - assorted maneuvers
You could always change the audio track size, but that is not going to give you anywhere near the detail that you will get by
alt clicking the audio portion of the Timeline file (to temporarily unlink audio from the video and then double clicking that Timeline
audio file to bring up its waveform in the Preview Window and noting the clap time at playback there.
With the video and audio relink again, as you can hold down the alt key and tap the left or right arrow key, you can move the Timeline linked clip from right to left or left to right
for alignment purposes to the clap time.
When you need only the video portion of the video audio linked file in the Preview Windows, then you omit the alt click on the audio portion.
If needed, you could always set unnumbered markers at the Timeline level or in the Preview Windows.
For Timeline video audio nudges....as you hold down the alt key and tap the right or left arrow key once, you get a one frame nudge per tap.
As you hold down the Shift+Alt and tap the right or left arrow key once, you get a five frames nudge per tap.
    On other matters...
    2. Please look at right clicking the Timeline and looking a Snap option enabled and disabled.
    3. I will think about it some more but I do not see any way to mute the audio for a whole audio track. You can mute the audio for clips on that audio track but not
shut off the audio to that one particular audio track. If you wanted to do audio clip muting for more than 1 clip at a time, I could see
    a. copy first file that you muted through Adjust Tab/Adjustments/Volume Panel expanded and
    b. then do a Paste Effects and Adjustments for a selection of all of the other audio files on that particular track.
    Just some thoughts

  • Audio selection in Cs5.5 Encore auto plays rather then just changes audio track

I am an Encore newbie after moving from DVD SP to Encore for blu ray menu authoring. Ive read and re-read the help files and they seem to be the same for Encore versions going back to at least cs3 for this issue ... so i must be doing something wrong or Encore just cannot do a very basic thing...
I am building a blu-ray with a singel video track and 2 audio tracks. I am trying to link a menu to allow a user to select a 5.1 or 2ch version of audio for a feature film. All shoudl be straightforward. i have a menu with several buttons. Each button links to an audio track in my timeline.
However, when i test my links, instead of just changing the audio and returning to the menu (as per the instructions in the help files ), the film plays from the beginning.
The correct audio track is played, but that is not my intention at that point. I want the user to choose the audio track and then allow the user to press another play button or go to another menu and back again before the film starts.
So how do i just change the audio track but not play it there and then ?
The help says use 'specify link' so i choose that option and select the timeline, yes, select the audio track 1 or 2, yes. But there is no different way to do this if i actually wanted to play the track at that time as well. What is the fundemental bit i am missing here ? Something to do with button type or some werid overide setting i am missing ? Can Encore actually do this ? its rather frustrating having come from using DVD SP which allows you to script everything and set gprm/sprm registers, to a program that does not seem to allow you to do anything beyond very very basic authoring.
Any help would be appreciated. thanks.

To return to menu after changing the audio or any subtitle track, you should select the desired menu in the Specify Link option and change the audio and subtitle accordingly.
In the example above, what I have done is, I went to the Specify Link, chose the menu as the target and also changed the audio track there and clicked OK
So here, after pressing Button 3 (Item 3), I would return to the menu and my aduio would be reset to audio track 2.
After that, whatever timeline I play, that would be played with audio track 2.
That is just a small example to show how it is done. Set the navigation as you like.

  • How to change audio track on a flv-video during streaming?

    Hello ,
I would like to stream a flv-video, but every time with
    different audio-track.
So how can I change the audio track on a video-stream? Is
there any server-side solution for this?
I used to stream the audio on different stream - parallel
with the video stream -, but because of synchronization problems,
    it didn't work.
    Any idea?
    Thanks

Thanks for the helpful response.  I'll check out the the options available for shaping the sound with eq, efx and amp sims as you suggest.
It still would be helpful to know if I change an audio track (.aif file) into a midi track in GarageBand or in some other software so I can change the instrumentation of the track from piano to another instrument.
    Thanks again!

  • Mono audio tracks to stereo

I cannot get my mono clips to become stereo. I tried highlighting both audio tracks (one, is imported music/ two, is imported b roll audio) and doing option -L and it does not work. Cannot even get the stereo pair in the modify pull down to highlight.

I've noticed that since I've upgraded from FCP 4.5 to FCP 5, I can no longer change the audio track config of an offline clip in the browser. I used to be able to ctrl-click in the Audio column, and it would bring up a submenu where I could change from A1+A2 to Stereo.
Now there is no such option. Am I doing something wrong?

  • Apple ProRes 422 32-bit Stereo Audio Creates New Audio Track

I imported some Apple ProRes 422 files into Premiere Pro CS5.5 in my Mac, using all the correct ProRes Sequence Settings. But the audio creates a new Audio Track 5 and cannot be moved to any of the first 4 audio tracks. Why?

That single speaker icon is telling you that it is a 1-channel Track, so a 2-channel, or 6-channel (5.1) Clip will not go there - only a 1-channel Clip.
One can set up their Default Sequence with any number of each type of Audio Track, and any number of Video Tracks. My guess is that your Default Sequence is set for 4 1-channel Audio Tracks.
For more background on Audio Tracks and channel-count, see this article: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3757977#3757977 [Note: some of the illustrations are from older versions of PrPro, but the basics are all the same.]
Note: PrPro CS 6 changed how Audio Tracks and channel-count are handled, but PrPro CS 5.5 still used the old method.

  • ATV2 and second audio track

So, for Christmas, I sent out a home video to family, and as a bonus feature included an alternate audio track, which was accessible when playing the video in Quicktime, iTunes, and other i-devices.
I then saw the video played back on an AppleTV2, and to my surprise, it didn't see the alternate audio track at all. Confirmed that on the 'server' machine, iTunes could access the audio track, but when you hold down the 'select' button on the ATV2 remote, there's a tab for 'Audio', but it's grayed out and can't be selected. I also tried using AirPlay to push the video up, and the icon for changing the audio track disappears when you do that.
I tried tinkering around with the video using Subler, but none of my settings I tried were able to make it so that the ATV2 could select between two audio tracks.
Is this possible? The presence of the menu implies that it should be possible, but I haven't found a way to do it. Can anyone tell me what needs to be set or how the audio needs to be encoded?

I'm sure they're not encoded correctly, that's my question, really. How do they need to be encoded and configured?
    I've tried the following configurations...
(In Subler there's a checkbox to indicate which audio is played normally, indicated with X for checked, _ for not checked)
    1 X Stereo AAC
    2 _ Stereo AC3
Defaults to AAC when played on QT or iTunes, ATV2 defaults to the AC3. ATV2 doesn't show track 1 as an option.
    1 _ Stereo AAC
    2 X Stereo AC3
Defaults to AC3 on all platforms, ATV2 doesn't show track 1 as an option.
    1 X Stereo AC3
    2 _ Stereo AC3
Defaults to the checked AC3 on all platforms, ATV2 doesn't show track 2 as an option
    1 X Stereo AAC
    Plays on all platforms
    1 X Stereo AC3
    Plays on all platforms
So as far as I can tell, ATV2 simply doesn't have support for a second audio track?

  • How do I make the audio go to audio track 6?

I know this is going to be easy, but I've spent two hours and can't figure it out. I'm another one of those guys coming over from FCP.
I'm editing a short. Most of the video tracks have 5 audio tracks. I put a clip on video 1 and then the audio automatically goes into audio 1-5. Great.
Then a I put a clip on video 2 and the audio goes on tracks 2-6, oeverwriting the other audio. I would like it to go on audio tracks 6-10.
The only way I have found to do this is to first lock all the audio on tracks 1-5, but that is time consuming ... locking, unlocking, locking.
I've tried moving the V and A1 "flags" on the far left (which is what my FCP brain would expect to be the solution) but as far as I can tell, that doesn't do anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Swinker,
I did not see which version of PrPro you are using. That can be important, as there was a change in Audio Tracks between CS 5.5 (and earlier), and CS 6. For CS 6, there are some good AdobeTV tutorials, that cover how those changes will affect things, regarding Audio. At the end of this article, there are a few links on how Audio works in CS 6: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3757977#3757977 If you have CS 6, disregard much of the material in the first part of the article, and most will no longer apply with CS 6.
Good luck, and it appears that you have the info needed.

  • Garage band 10.0.2  adjust volume of prerecorded audio track

Just started with garage band 10.0.2.  So confusing compared to previous versions.  When I just want to work with prerecorded tracks I don't even know which of the canned options to choose.  Next I just want to adjust volume of those tracks.

To adjust the volume of a prerecorded track, drag the audio file to an empty spot of the track area, to create a new audio track with basic settings.
Then adjust the track volume slider:
