Changing of profit center group assigned to one profit center

Hi,
Profit Center Group "SMBA-CIN" was erroneously assigned to Profit center PSC021100. I tried to change the profit center group and assigned "SMBA-MALL via Tcode KE52". After that, I viewed the profit center hierarchy, and found out that PSC021100 now exists in the 2 profit center groups.
Why is it that PSC021100 exists in the 2 profit center groups? How can I correct this? Said profit center should exist in SMBA-MALL only.

Profit Center Groups Wise Report

Hi Team,
Is it possible to have GL Balance, Vendor and customer Balances on Profit Center Group Wise on basis of Plant to which few more plants are assigned.
For Example:
Company code is 1000
Under Co. code 6 Plants are present ie; 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000,6000, 7000
3000 and 4000 Plants reporting to 2000 plant 6000,7000 plants are reportting to 5000 plant
for ex geographically you can imagine we have one comany code and uder that two main reporting centers are exists like south and north.
For every plant we have 10 profit centers. To get the plant wise P&L and B/S we created profit center groups and we are getting the reports in controlling but client require GL balances vendor balances Customer balances in FI on profit center group wise. (Both vendors balance FK01 & XK01, Customer balance FD01,XD01, GL Account Balance of 2000,3000,4000 all combined)
so i would like to know if we want FI reports like plant shall we create group profitcenter or we have some other option because p group wise GL balnces customer balnces vendor balnces is must requyired for the client.

Using GR55 T code - Profit center groups Very very urgent

Hi frds,
Currently the report provides drill down to specific profit center groups by double clicking on the group. we can also save this into excel worksheets for individual profit center. Instead of displaying individual profit center group we want to have one report whcih gives all the profit centers data.
Our requirement is to show profit center groups on one sheet with the actual and budget by profit group as columns for the profit centers.
I am able to modify the report using the T code GRR2 but dont know how to copy that and modify.can you give me step by step process.

Can we change the cost center from one cost center group to another group, when there are some postings in the cost center? If yes, how to go about it?

Yes you can!
If you are planning to change within the standard hierarchy, Goto OKEON, drag, drop and save.
Or you can go to KS02 for the cost center, in the basic data, you can give the new cost center group under the hierarchy area.
If it is just non hierarchy cost center group, then go to KSH2 enter the old group, select the cost center, delete save, then go to the new cost center group and include the cost center.
It does not matter whether it has been posted or not. It is just a grouping. But caution must be exercised. and there shall be a valid justification for doing so. Because the cost center may be used in various cycles. So better to check where and all the cost center is being used and then do the change.

Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet at profit center group level

my client has "xxxx" as group in standard hierarchy of profit center. under this group there are further two sub groups "01" & "02". under each sub group there is one profit center "0100001" and "0200001" respectively. now the requirement is that the user would like to extract Financial Statement Version (P&L and Balance sheet) at all three levels "Top Group", "Sub Group" & profit center.Now i do know that by activating document splitting on the basis of profit center i can get FSV at profit center level through standard report "S_PL0_86000028" by specifying profit center in selection perimeters. but how can i get the same at two group levels? please help me out here.

As far as my knowledge it the only way to choose group of profit centers . as per below screen shot .. you are not permitted to choose profit center group.

1) If I know profit center group how to pick profit centers which belongs to that profit center group.the tcode is (KCH3)
2) In the tree there may be many levels I mean for the profit center also contain other profit centers, just to display in the same way as like in KCH3 tcode, how we are going to maintain in alv trees

User Exit for KE51 - for maintaing profit centre group

Hi,
We have maintained a Z-table wherein we have mainatined a ranage of profit centers which will fall in a particular profir center group. Say, all profit centers created in range of 100001 to 100099 shound fall under profit center group 'AAA'.
So, if someone is creating a new profit center 100010 and by mistake gives profit center group as 'BBB', we expect the system to give message saying "the intended profit centre does not fall in the range assigned to profit centre group 'BBB'.
Kindly advise how to triger the message as above? Is there any user-exit for t-code KE51 that can be activated to check whether the profit center group (as defined in Z-table) assigned in profit centre master is correct or not?

Can 2 cost center group share same cost center?

Dear Experts,
Can 2 cost center group share the same cost center?
Basically I'm looking at MATRIX structure where one cost center, say an Equipment shared by 2 different cost center groups (say one in "Location-A" cost center group, and the other one is in "Process-A" cost center group). This is to enable the management to be able to see the costs incurred in either by "Location" cost center group or "Process" cost center group.
The "Location-A" cost center group may tied to Cost center 101, Cost Center 102 and Cost Center 103. The "Process-A" cost center group may only tied to Cost Center 101, and other cost center 201 (which is also tied to other "Location-B" cost center group).
Please advise.

Hi Abraham,
its not possible to assign a cost center to several cost center groups in the standard hierarchy. Otherwise, the standard hierarchy would be inconsistent.
As stated in the online documentation under http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_05/helpdata/EN/25/908fc66d8411d194f000a0c93031df/frameset.htm
'You can assign each cost center to only one group in the standard hierarchy, but to as many alternative groups as you require.!

Does SAP allow a cost center reassign from one cost center group to another cost center group in this scenario the particular cost center which going to reassign to another cost center group have posting into the cost center?

Profit Center Group Organization Change - Effective for Prior Periods

Hi Experts,
A client wants to perform a horizontal organization change (profit centers) and see the effects retroactively to the prior periods. To achieve this, they plan to re-execute the consolidation tasks going back two to three years once the org change is made, so that they have comparative financial statements that take into account the change. The requirement is to re-post the group level postings to the updated profit center group after the change. For example, Italy related postings would occur under the group Central Europe instead of Western Europe as before. All the group level postings previously booked to Western Europe would now need to recorded under Central Europe going back prior periods.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how to meet the requirement without re-consolidating?
One option was the restatement feature but based on the SAP help description of the monitor required, it does not take into account consolidated postings, only uploaded PL00-10 data and translation.
Another option is to copy the version but then the results is in another version rather than the original 'actual' "100" version.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

I know of no other way to accomplish this than to re-execute the consolidation for the prior periods after the hierarchy has been changed.
I have used the restatement feature and like you have found it very limited.
The copy to another version would only work if you copied the existing data to the new version before re-executing the consolidation. The the version 100 can be re-consolidated for the previous periods and the existing reports do not have to be changed for a new version.
However, with the copy, it is important to set the cons group and cons unit hierarchies to be version dependent so the changes are only good for the version that is to be re-consolidated for previous periods. This allows you to report on the data before the change where the logic will read the old, unchanged version of the hierarchy.

Mass change of profit/cost center groups

we have a requirement to mass change the descriptions for profit/cost center groups. We tried out folowing options but they are not working.
1. BDC recording for KCH2/KSH2.KCH5N - i think these are not supported in BDC.
2. LSMW using available BAPI... it can be used only if the group is not assigned in the hierarchy.
Please let me know if there is any other way of handling this.

The allocation can be done through Distribution either in a fixed value or in percentages. You can define a planning
cycle for a sender profit center group and define the amount to be allocated to receiver profit center group.
Define Actual cycle in the same way. In periodic processing which may be every month/quarterly/half yearly,
you can distribute the values from one group to the other.
