Changing package - object dictionary entry

Hi all,
my basis has copied a report from a different sap instance to my sap instance. But the package program is not existing in my sap system. Because of this I am not able to modify the program. also I am not able to change the object dictionary entry.
Please tell me how to modify the object dictionary entry of the program in this case.

Mass change in object directory entry

hi Experts ,
we have a problem in object directory entry of some near 1600 objects which want to change in a single go , can any one help us on this??
We have searched SDN already and do find similar questions but no relevant answer , please help.
If we try to change it through Se03 it asks to do it objectby object whch is a very time consuming activity .

In SE03,
You can give wild character if the object names starts with for example A* and then you can block select.
or if you go by further restriction(for example by package name), you can able to list all of the objects under the package.
This way you can block select it and change the object directory.

Mass change of object catalog entries

Hi All,
Here is an issue where I need your help:
I have a transport from another system with ~100 objects and I need to change their original systems.
I started it with "SE03 -> Change Object Directory Entries of Objects in a Request", but it takes too much time (double click -> change -> save) * 100...
Is there transaction where I can change these objects' original systems within one step?

Hallo,
it's a long time since the original question, but since this has been posted in SDN so many times : how to mass change a package or original system in SE03 (SE03 / report RSWBO051/RSWBO052). The solution is to select the objects you want and enter MASS in the OK-code.

Changing Object Directory Entry of Infocube - urgent

Hello -
I have an infocube that is already assigned to a package (not $TMP).
How can I reassign it to a different package.
When I try to reassign via Cube change, the package field is greyed out.
I have deleted all data, deactivated the cube + aggregates. There a re queries still attached to the cube though. But cannot change the Object Directory Entry.
Help solicited.

In case of BW, there could be more than one package.
One for Backend development (like cube, ODS, update rules, info objects etc) and one or more for Reports.
So in ur case, the cube would always be alloted to the same package! You would only create new requests....

When I am trying to change the package I am getting the following error message.

for request/task DEVK900251
How to change the object directory entries which are part of a request/task?

As I told you before as long as you dont unlock those objects you can not change the package. Please unlock and then try to change the object directory entry. Create a new transport of copies and release the old transport. The released transport will not go anywhere. Dont forget to check the options on the unlock entries (expert tool).

Change Package of OTR Objects in SAP R/3 6.20

I normally change the package assignment via SE09 (transports). Click on icon with Hammer and wrench (Tranport organizer tools). On next screen select entry 'Change Object Directory Entries' and press icon 'execute' (F8). On next screen enter
RT3R and SOTR and the name of the OTR object (alternative would be to use 'Z*' or maybe even part of object name.
On next screen select the object and press change button (top right of the screen).

Try this.
       1.      Select the required development object from the object list.
       2.      Choose Other Functions àChange Package Assignment from the context menu.
The Reassign Object dialog box appears.
       3.      Enter the name of the new package in the New Package field.
       4.      Choose Continue to confirm your entries.
If the object has not already been assigned to a change request, you must enter a change request as well.
       5.      Enter a valid change request and choose Continue.

Change Package For Many Bi Objects

Dear Gurus,
Before transformation, Is there any way to change package for many bi objects ?
Transport Coonection tab dont allow me to change package of these bi objects?

In the transport connection screen select the object -->send it RHS --> before changing the package make sure that object is not in any of the Transport request if so release the request using the Tcode :se09 and now select the object in the transport screen click on change package it will prompt a window where you can update the package and create TR for it.

For data dictionary goto se11>goto>object dict entry>change mode here u can chage ur package.
and same pocessudure has been follow for FM also in SE37.

How to change package for the program or t code if package not available?

I have a T Code that was imported from ECC5 to BW system.
This t code as well as its program have a package ZXYBC assigned in ECC5 system.
However, the package that it was assigned (ZXYBC) does not exist in BW but exists in ECC5.
Now I am not able to do any modifications (in the BW system) to the T Code or its associated program as the Package ZXYBC does not exist in BW.
Note: Change Object Directory Entry does not work.
Any suggestions?

Open your main program of your TCODE in SE80 transaction.(Go to se93 transaction to get the program name for your TCODE).
Right click on the root node.
Other Functions->Change Package Assignment.
GIve the new package name (THis package should be already created in your system).

Object dir entries reconciliation..

Problem description:
When trying to transport via transport connection, I get the error message that objects ned to be tansported separately. I have collected only necessary objects and collected automatically. This has worked for med in earlier systems, but not here.. so something is strange.
I have switched BW development system from ABD to ABT. Some objects were transported from ABD to ABT and are hence assigned to a certain package. In ABT I have then set up a new transport layer/routes etc. and also created a new package for transportation purposes.
So now I have a messed up system when it comes to object directory entries. Some objects seems to be assigned to the old package Z001 and some to the new Z002. Some objects have source system ABD (the old BW dev) and some have ABT. Some also have SAP.
How can I reconcile all of this? I guess I will need all the objects to belong to Z002 with source system ABT (the new BW dev system)..
When collecting the transport in the transport connection, and looking in "package", I don't see any package aassigned to the different objects..
I get the error message:
"changes cannot be made" & Object xxxx xxxxxx cannot be saved to order" (100s of objects)...
How do I proceed?

The old transport route was ABD --> ABT --> ABP, Now there has been a change of transport routes to ABT --> ABQ (new sys) --> ABP.
Already in the first setting, there was a problem with the collection of transports. Therefor, I had to install parts from Business Content directly in ABT. Some was however transported from ABD.
When everthing was in place in ABT, I deleted the old TMS settings and created new transport routes etc.
I have confirmed that the new routes are working. However I think that there is a mix up in the object directory entry now... Do you agree?
When looking in SE03 (object directory entry), I see that there are object entries with ABD set as original system and belonging to the old package (that was used for transports from ABD --> ABT)..
When collecting objects in the transport organizer I get lots of errors. When looking at these objects in SE03, I see that these seem to belong to the correct package and original system (according to the new setup).. Then why don't they work?
Any ideas on how to make this work?

Why the "Change Package" in Transport Connection shows "Request/Tasks"?

We want to transport our custom InfoCubes from Developement environment to Test environment:
RSA1 -> Transport Connection, select an InfoCube we created and drag it over to the right frame, group it by "In Dataflow Before and Afterwards". The Package column shows it's attached to $TMP that we would have to change it to a custom package that it can be transported over. We click the Package picture icon with a pencil trying to change the package attached from $TMP to a custom one, but can't find any custom package we created with SE80 from here and instead, in this window, the first column is "Request/Task" and the values under this column are all checkboxes. The last column is "Object Name". I wonder if the "Change Package" picture icon only lists all the request/task for the selected transport objects selected other than the packages we expect? Weird!

the 'normal' way has been explained by Roberto and Siggi.
if you still want change package screen in transport connection, it will go to package change/object directory entry screen after you mark the 'request/task' and click 'V'

To change the package you need to release( unlock ) the request first

First note down the request number ,which you can find in Lock over view in object directory entry
First go to se03
and go to Unlock objects
give the Task request there
and unlock the request
then
just go to SE38
and display the table then In Menu bar you can find Go to------Object Directory Entry
Option
In that click change button then assign $TMP
then activate it

or to unlock this object
just go to se09 and delete that object under that request
then in se38 change that packege as $TMP

1. goto pm01
2. enter your infotype
3. click on radio button (PS Structure)
4. Click on EDIT button
5. the structure of that infotype will get opened
6. menu : GOTO---->Object Directory Entry
7. Change the package
8. Come back to PM01 and refresh
9. The new package name will appear

Hi madan,
from menu on the upper side...
GOTO-> Object Directory Entry.
and make it to Change mode from displayby pressing F6 if neede,now you can change the Package of the Object,
