Changing page color

I love the color of the page in the Classic Template (Art History)
but the beige page background only appears for section and chapter heading
pages.  When I add other pages, they are white.
How can I make ALL pages in my book the same background as the
classic chapter and section head pages?

It is a trick!
The beige page background color in the Classic Template (Art History) template is not a real background color at all. The background color comes from a "locked" colored Text Box within the template arranged through the "Send to Back" command.
Here is how to change or create different background colors for each of the layouts within the template:
Open the Classic Template (Art History) template or any other one.
Select "Show Layouts" under the "View" menu.
Select the right side "Chapter" layout or any other page.
Click in the beige color area where there are no other objects.
Notice the fant remains of an "x" in the corners.
Under the "Arrange" menu select "Unlock." Notice the "X" has changed to small squares.
Select the "Bring to Front" from the "Arrange" menu.
You can now move or expand the box to any locaction you like.
To prove that this box is a text box just double click inside it.
To change the color, open the Inspector and select the Graphic Inspector.
Select Image Fill or others from the Fill pull down menu.
Select a color from the colors palette and drag it to the fill color box within the Graphic Inspector.
Move the colored text box into the opsition on your Layout.
Select the "Bring to Back" from the "Arrange" menu.
Under the "Arrange" menu select "Lock."
Now may be a good time to select "Save as Template..." under the "File" menu.

  • Possible to change the colors of the templates? Or not?

Regarding the style templates in iWeb '06:
I notice that each template family has a certain color. Modern is white, others are wheat colored, others light pastel green and blue. One of them is black and uses a white colored font.
    Question:
Is the color for each template style there to stay or is it changeable? I see that column size, box side, and font size, style and color are changeable but am suspecting that the color for the style of the page is not. Correct?
So this means that, say, if I want to change the Modern style template to be RED on one page, then I would have to paste a solid red photo on top of it and use that photo as a base upon which to add other things? Or what?

Well, lot of it has to do with the browser. Once the
browser background image is in the cache, it helps a
great deal; Firefox loads it pretty quickly; Safari
will not; Opera is 'middle-of-the-road'... (And I
don't even want to get into Internet Explorer!). If
your site is targeted towards the same group of
people, say a family site for example, and your pages
become established in their browser caches, then it's
not a problem. But if new people are visiting
frequently then the chances are they may never even
see your browser image. Again, this applies when
hosting with .Mac. I haven't had this problem
hosting to a remote server. .Mac is just plain slow
    to load.
And this becomes particularly exacerbated if the
design of the page is predicated on the browser image
you have chosen....again, the design possibilities
are endless as you can build upon your favorite
photo, but you really need a fast server to maximize
    the potential.

Dear Ap -- I must say that I have not understood what you wrote because I lack familiarity with some of the topics/concepts/terms that you mentioned. The browser issue went over my head, although I do understand about caches (I think). What I take away from what you said is that I had better not mess around with the clever procedures described for changing page color because the downside is worse than the advantage. I might take advantage of the clever techniques later on when I actually know what's going on. I am not at the Clever Techie stage yet.

  • Can't change the color of text of links on my Welcome Page

I have a Welcome page with four links that happen to be text that I dragged over from my list of sites. I can change the text style and size but I cannot change the color from the default reddish brown.

To change the color of any hyperlinks, you need to select the link, go to the Hyperlink page, choose the Format option, and then select the color you want for Normal, Rollover, Visited and Disabled.
    This should work.
You can also set the default colors and formats you want for all other entries on that same page.

  • Where do I change the color of this text in the blog page?

I'm trying to add a blog page to my non-template iWeb site. On the Main Page, I'm unable to change the color of the font in the hyperlinks, where the default reads "Day of Longboarding" and "Read more…". I don't know what I might be overlooking. Any pointers? Thanks…

That's not something iWeb has a menu item for.  However with the proper javacode you can change a lot about the navbar. This deoo page describes how: Change Navbar Text and Background Color.

  • Is it possible to change the color of imported art in pages, say from B&W to a color?  ... or even to make it a gradation of color?

Is it possible to change the color of imported art in pages, say from B&W to a color?  ... or even to make it a gradation of color?

Make a Shape > Inspector > Graphic > Tinted Image Fill > Scale to fit > browse to image > click on the color patch to change the color to what you want
    or
Drag in an image > overlay it with a Shape > select the color for the shape and change its Opacity
Shapes may have Gradient and Advanced Gradient (multiple colors) fills both linear and radial. Both are in the Graphic Inspector as is Opacity.

how to change the color background in Pages for iPad?

You can find many themes at https://github.com/hdoria/xcode-themes  There's a download zip button on the right side of the page.
Unzip and and copy the .dvtcolortheme files into /Users/YourUsername/Library/Developer/XCode/UserData/FontAndColorThemes Create the directory if it doesn't exist.
If you can't find the Library directory you can get to it by using Finder's "Go to Folder..." option under "Go" or press shift + cmd + G then type the path.

  • Is there any way to change the color scheme in a document in Pages?

I have come from a PC using Publisher for a weekly newsletter and am trying to use Pages to accomplish the same thing.  i want to change the color scheme from week to week and have not found a way to accomplish this.
I am currently using Word for Mac for this, but I would like to move over to Pages.  I'm playing with it some, but can't seem to find a way to change the color of the publication from week to week.  To change to another template all together would cause me to have to reinvent the wheel each and every week, and I'm not willing to do that.
Adobe Illustrator is an option, but it looks mighty complicated to set it up...  And I've balked at the price tag.
    Any suggestions?

Pages does not have Themes like Word.
There might be other ways to achieve what you want by swapping master objects and changing colors of Styles. A bit more work but not horrendously more.
You can name color swatches in the Color Picker so you could set up a set of colors there then update styles and objects systematically using those swatches.
Illustrator would be an extremely poor choice for a Newsletter.
Have a look at the new Swift Publisher 3 in the App Store, currently 30% off. They have added some very good tools that have brought it into a much more Pro usable form. Including many key features that Pages lacks.

  • Changing the color of the link to the current page

How can I change the link on the current page to display a different color until the user redirects to another page. I am wanting to keep all my links visible and simply change the color of the link that the user is on.
I think I am going to use the 'pFlowStepId'.
I am using a navigation bar that redirects to pages within the application but one link redirects to a url.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Change background color in pages app

    Hey (;
I'm really sorry if my question shouldn't be at this forum ,
How can I change the background color of my document in pages app on my iPad .
I saw this in apple's iCloud commercial ... Int he commortiL she just touches the background and than format but it doesn't work ...
    Thank you very much !

As far as I can see, you have to create a shape and then format the shape. Tap the + sign icon in the upper right corner and select a shape - a prefilled shape or a blank one - and the tap the paint brush icon and select a style/color for that shape.
You can change the size of the shape by selecting it and then dragging the blue dots to the size that you want. If you tap on a background that you have already created - tap on the paint brush to change the color from the styles palette.

  • Tab Control - change page name and color

    a)
    Is there any possibility to
change the names of pages in a Tab Control programmatically?
(I want to change the names in a runtime version depending on the user
selected language. Therefore I can't use the Import Strings function.)
    b)
Is it possible to change the colors of a Tab Control ?
    Robert
    (using LV6.02 on WinNT)

    Hello,
If you use the property "Independant Label" of the tab, you can change the TabCaption.
    You cannot use blank names.
See attached file. It was written with LabVIEW 6.1 and converted back to 6.0.

  • Change highlight color in pages

    Hey guys and gals,
Would anyone happen to know whether changing highlight color in Pages is possible, and if so - how?
I searched all over and found no satifsying answers.
    Thank in advance!
    Eran

It looks like the Highlight (background) color can only be yellow.
The best work around I can find is to change the text color itself which may work like a highlight of the text (like red, green or blue) which makes it stand out.  Maybe that will help?
Format Inspector (the brush) > Style > Touch the Size and Font item > Color > swipe to see options.
Note even there you can't go beyond predefined colors but you can make text stand out.

  • PAGES color change

How do you change the mustard color in the pages photo journal template? I easily changed the text box color, but can't figure out the larger text box...Thanks!

You could just change the color of that object once it is selected. Click the graphic icon in the Inspector & click on the box in the top portion to bring up the OS X color selector.
It's just as easy to apply a color to a paragraph. In the text inspector, at the bottom, check paragraph fill & click the rectangle to the right to again bring up the color chooser.

  • How do I create a duplicate image inside the same page? Then how do I change the color of that image

how do I create a duplicate image inside the same page? Then how do I change the color of that image from black to red?

    Hello there!
Here is one way to create a duplicate image and colorize it. As you can see below, I have one image right now, that I want to duplicate.
My layers panel looks like below.
To duplicate your image, click the downward arrow on the right side of your Layer Panel.
Select Duplicate Layer. This will duplicate the layer that the image is on.
Select "OK" to approve the duplication.
As you can now see in the Layers panel, the image is duplicated. The new layer is now at the top of the Layer panel.
Now to colorize your image, go to Window > Adjustments.
The Adjustments panel will now be opened. Select the Hue and Saturation icon as seen circled in red.
The Hue and Saturation propertied panel will be opened. I selected "Colorize", and adjusted the hue and saturation bar to achieve the level red in my photo.
As you can see below, the image is now red.
Now i want to make sure only ONE of my image layers is red. I moved the Hue and Saturation layer to only be on top of the bottom layer. The image on the top layer now will not be affected by the red.
Select the move tool, so I can now move the image layers so we can see both of them.
With each image layer selected, you can take the move tool and move the images. I moved mine on top of eachother and you can see my red layer (bottom) and the non red layer (top).
I hope that helps. i have also included helpful links.
Please post back with any questions,
    Janelle
