Changing Partern Exchange Server for Unity

Wondering if anyone has had experience with this:
We need to shut down our old 2003 Exchange box and use our Exchange 2007 box exclusively. The issue is our Unity 7 box is using our 2003 Exchange as it's partner server and need to change it to our 2007 box instead.
I've read some documentation on it, but can't find anything specific to our versions listed previously and just wondering if there are any gotchas involved or if this is fairly straight forward.
Any steps you've followed to be successful would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Unity 7.x documentation is the same as Unity 5.x - there is no specific 7.x documentation. The 2 versions are so close that they are interchangeable from a setup/reconfiguration perspective. Check this link here for info:

“To add further on the cas array, the Outlook clients with an existing Outlook profile would continue to use the old RPC endpoint rather than the new RPC endpoint (even though Autodiscover detected the change). This is because the old RPC endpoint does not
return an ecWrongServer response to the client. The RPC endpoint accepts the connection; therefore, Outlook ignores the Autodiscover response because it has a working connection.”
In this case, except with recreating a profile, we can move mailboxes to force the Outlook client to do a profile discovery and update the profile based on new information.

Messaging tracking logs filename format changed in Exchange Server 2013 sp1

Hi,
I have noticed that the file name format is changed for exchange server 2013 sp1.
Now it will have hh attached to it like
MSGTRKMSyyyymmddhh-n.log;
MSGTRKMDyyyymmddhh-n.log:
MSGTRKyyyymmddhh-n.log.
So the "hh" will goes from 00 to 23 for single day.
So Lets say at 24 april 2014 first fill is created @7.30 AM, so the first file name will be
MSGTRK2014042400-1.log. Now exchange server will create new file every hour by incrementing hh part of file name. Now the last file i.e
MSGTRK2014042423-1.log will be created on 25 April 2014 at 6.30 AM.
I am not able to understand why exchange server is creating the file with old date on next day ( with 24 April on file name time stamp on 25 April).
And also how it will be decided to create the first file @ 7.30 AM.
Can anyone explain to me about this ? Why it is happening like this?

Hi Sandeep,
This could related to the time difference. What’s the time zone of your server? In my lab, many files in the last day were created in the next day. For example, files in 20140410
were created on 20140411.
Also, as you mentioned, the file name format is as:
MSGTRKMSyyyymmddhh-n.log;
MSGTRKMDyyyymmddhh-n.log:
MSGTRKyyyymmddhh-n.log.
However as I know, the format is like
MSGTRKyyyymmdd-m.log, it will not have “hh”(you mean hours) in the behind and the file is not created every hour but create a new file when the old is full. So please capture some screenshots of the message tracking files
and the date/time information of the file to verify.

XP Outlook 2007 not connecting to exchange server for office365 mail

Here is the deal it is the workstation it self no one can get there account to connect through outlook on the work station the person who's work station it is can connect with outlook on other work stations.
1. First thing it does is continues to prompt for user name/ password window.
2. After 2 popups of name/ password It states "Outlook cannot log on. Verify you are connected to the network and are using the proper server and mailbox name. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must
be online or connected to complete this action."
3. I have then gone through control panel > mail > Show Profiles > Removed the only profile > Add profile > Pop-up for username/ password appears > fill it in > Add new email account then pops-up > fill in Name, Email Adress,
Password, Retype Password > Configuring - green checkmark on "Establish network connection" - bullet arrow at "Search for johndoe@blankcom server settings" then pop-up for "User Name: Password:" form filled in
- pop-up reappears and form filled out for 10 times > cancel > pop-up "The action cannot be complerted. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action." >
Click "OK" > Microsoft Exchange form pop-up "Microsoft Exchange server:/Mailbox:" form is already filled out Click "OK" > pop-up "The action cannot be complerted. The connection to Microsoft Exchange

3. Have ran MCATest Results are auto discover successful with errors. Errors are as follows
1>Testing TCP port 443 on host dot.ny.gov to ensure it's listening and open.

Yes we have narrowed it back to the workstation as the user can sign on other workstations through outlook and when using the control right click and checking connectivity activity. This work station tries to connect to the right server name as the
one that does connect. But it hangs up there using the same server name, type- directory, status-connecting then asks for user name password. No change is status after it is filled out and OK is pressed.

MS Exchange Server for Mac version

Just switched to Mac, and love it. I must access access corporate email from MS Exchange server. Mac version of Safari 3 keeps giving me an error that password or username are incorrect, and will not proceed. Windows Safari version 3 opened mail with no problems. Any ideas?

Just to chime in here.
I too am having problems logging into Outlook Web Access on an Exchange 2000 server. It keeps asking my for my login info. Once I log in, I go to a message and it asks me again. When I try to access the exchange server locally, Safari just crashes. Same on Windows Safari.
I know the easy thing to do would be to use Firefox, but I don't want to have to tell all my Mac users they have to use Firefox when it worked perfectly well on Safari 2 and Safari 3 Beta.

How to Change Analysis Services Server for Power View

I can't seem to figure out how to change what SSAS server/instance that is used to build the cubes for Power View items uploaded to SharePoint. I tried changed the trusted servers listed in the Excel Services service application but if I remove the original
SSAS server (which of course is a test server, not to be used for production) and have only the prod SSAS instance listed the reports fail to load with the generic 400 error. Is there another setting that I'm missing?

Mail is changing my Exchange server address

So I work offsite from my office and the office has it's own Exchange 2007 server. When I add my email to Mail.app, it autodiscovers my settings and properly sets up my account.
The issue happens when I exit the app and re-open the app, I start getting errors and find that Mail.app has changed my internal server address to something different, and I have to change it back again to the right one, ie:
Correct address:
mobile.xxxxxxxxxx.com
Wrong one that Mail.app changes the address to:
exchange.xxxxxxxxxx.com
Anyone know how to keep it from doing that?

Figured it out.
I let Mail.app change the internal server to the exchange.xxxxxxxx.com address, and added the mobile.xxxxxxx.com address to the external server field, and everything works without errors now.

Settings on Microsoft Exchange Server for sending Email from BW to emailid

I wanted to know that for sending Email from SAP System (that is via Information broadcasting feature of BW )to Email IDS of individuals do we need to make any configurations on Exchange Server as well or some RFC between Microsoft Exchange Server and BW .I have made all settings for SMTP through SCOT transaction but still not able to send mails.From our Exchange Server,the connector is removed ,do we need to reconnect it for this purpose.kindly please tell me wt all configurations do i need to make on Mail server for sending Emails as iam not able to do the same now.If somebody can send a PDF/Word document in support for the same on my email Id [email protected] ,i shall be highly obliged.Your help shall be appreciated ,kindly revert at earliest.

Communicator is looking to incorrect exchange server for security certificate

We are running Exchange 2010 and retiring a 2007 Exchange server. They are both still on our network but all mail routes through the 2010 server. The ssl certificate on our 2007 server expired today and Communicator is coming up with a warning when launched
warning that the 2007's cert expired. How do I get communicator to use the 2010 certificate instead?

Where do your Exchange autodiscover records point? Are all users on Exchange 2010?

We have a Unity server that has a DNS setting that is no longer valid. I was wondering if it would change the license MAC and invalidate the licenses if I were to change that primary and secondary DNS setting.

I believe you only need to delete and add again in PLM if you do that, and you're using co-res PLM where you're changing that

Keep getting this error in calendar when I try to modify a recuring calendar event that was already in my calendar when I upgraded to Mavericks. I can choose revert to server, ignore or try again and none of them do anything and the error keeps popping up. Any ideas

We have a central location that has numerous vpn connection to many different clients. Instead of using the TFTP server on LMS could I point LMS to use a tftp server on the client lan? That would make transfer of IOS so much fast instead of trying to copy across a heavily used WAN connection.

Yes it is possible. There is a upgrade option using Remote Staging. The Remote Staging and Distribution option helps you to upgrade multiple devices over a WAN.
You can perform remote staging and distribution by either of the methods:
•External FTP server
•External TFTP server
•Remote Staging Device
In this workflow, a managed device or external TFTP server or FTP server is used to stage an image temporarily. The staged image is then used to upgrade devices that are connected by LAN to the Remote Stage device or external TFTP server or FTP server. If you use this method, you do not have to copy a similar image, multiple times across the WAN.
After the image distribution job is completed using a managed device as a remote stage device, the configuration changes made to the Remote Stage device are automatically reversed and the staged image is deleted from the Remote Stage device.
After the distribution job is complete, you can use the Software Mgmt Jobs tab to:
•Undo an upgrade and roll back to the previous image
•Retry devices that failed a previous upgrade
To distribute images using Remote Staging:
LMS 3.x :
Resource Manager Essentials > Software Mgmt > Software Distribution
LMS 4.x:
Configuration > Tools > Software Image Management > Software Distribution
Select Use remote staging and click Go to configure IOS upgrade job.

CSS Load balancing for Exchange Server

Hi,
I have CSS configured in single arm and I have multiple servers configured for load balancing and it is working fine but when I am configuring Exchange server for load balancing I am facing problem and applications and printer/scanners are not able to send the email through the Virtual IP address configured for exchaneg server.
But if we configured the real server IP in the printer/scanners they are able to send the email. While checking the logs on the exchange server, it is showing that request for the email so coming from the Exchange VIP configured in the CSS.
I can telnet on port 25 on the VIP address (192.168.200.237). But unable to send the email through this VIP.
Below is the configuration

Please let me know how to solve this problem. System team is saying with the physical IP address it is working fine problem with Load balancing. I have even tried with the
Add service command in the group but didnt work for me. If i will remove the group command then I cant telnet on port 25.
I think this is related to single arm modle or some wrong configuration for the NAT.

Printers are on Vlan 80 ( gw is 192.168.80.1) and exange server is on vlan 200 (gw is 192.168.200.1) i have multiple vlan which will communcate with exchange.
I hv other servers on 200 subnet which are working fine in load balancing.
My CSS is single arm setup.

Error when trying to search for folders within an Exchange server

I am working on an existing application that searches folder within an exchange server in asp.net C#
The code is very basic is like this
