Changing password when logged on a replica, HELP!

Hello all,
We have an opendirectory master to host a windows domain with some replicas (All 10.5.6). Each replica are setup as a backup domain controller and it works.
But we have a VERY BIG ISSUE:
If a windows machine connect to the domain through a replica and the checkbox "Password must be changed at next login" is checked, then the user will be asked to change password over and over..!!!!
Anyone have a solution???
Thanks!
Fred

After they logoff and re-logon, does it occur again?
Are both of the new DCs, GCs?
Do all machines, including servers, that were previously using the old DCs for DNS, been changed over to the new DCs for DNS?

while trying to change password getting ora-00600 [4842] - Plz help
    database : 9.2.0.4
    o/s : Linux

    Hi,
when getting an ORA-600 you always should contact Oracle support please ;-)
To diagnose an ORA-600 the stack trace will be necessary - see the trace file mentioned in the alert.log when the ORA-600 did happen.
But FIRST OF ALL you should definitely apply patch set 9.2.0.8 and see if this error happens again (metalink.oracle.com ==> PATCHES ==> Quick Links ==> <your platform>). Support will ask you to do the same before they start diagnosing anything in this case.
And please keep in mind that 9.2.0 has reached end of Premier Support more than 1 year ago.
    Kind regards
    Mike

  • Re:  Invalid username and password when logging onto Hyperion workspace

    Hi,
    I have installed Hyperion Reporting and Analysis services.When I attempt to log on to Workspace, I get the following message;
'You must supply a valid User Name and Password to log onto the system."
I have tried using the admin and password as username and password.I am able to login to Essbase Administration Services and User Management Console using this account.I have provisioned the user to Hyperion System 9 BI+ .
    Thanks in advance.

I was told that Dsun.net.inetaddr.ttl=0" is required to be passed to the web application server (JVM) that starts Hyperion Shared Services and all System 9 products that depend on Hyperion Shared Services
Is this correct? I see these errors in the log when I try to log into Workspace in the morning:

  • Invalid User Name and Password when logging onto BPM Workspace (v9.3.1)

    I have installed Hyperion Planning and the related/required products. When I attemp to log on to Workspace, I get the following message;
'You must supply a valid User Name and Password to log onto the system."
I have tried using the native 'admin' account, and an NTLM account that I have setup. Both of these accounts work for logging onto the the User Management Console and to the Essbase Administration Console, and I have provisioned both of them with full admin privileges.
    Has anyone encountered this issue?
    Thanks,
    -K

Thank you all for the responses so far.
On the first response, I had already provisioned an NTLM user that is a member of the local Administrators group with all administrative roles, and also refreshed security in EAS prior to submitting this inquiry, so that did not solve the problem.
On the second, I cannot navigate to ../workspace/browse/configinfo without logging in so I am unable to review this information.
On the third response, where do you provision the user to BI+? If I open the User Management Console, there are four root roles each with a tree underneath: APS 9.3.1 Server, Analytic Servers, Business Rules, and Hyperion Shared Services. Under each tree, I have provisioned the 'admin' user and the NTLM user for all roles, including Administrator, Dimension Editor and Application Creator under Hyperion Shared Services -> Global Roles. Should there be a BI+ tree? If so, it is not appearing on the list.
Thanks for any additional info anyone can provide.

  • Password change issue when logging on to Portal NW2004s SP6

    Hello,
We have a NW2004s SP6 installation. We have the user management in the ABAP stack.
We create new users is created in the ABAP stack.
When the user logs on using the Portal, the change old password screen keeps repeating itself. This is however not the case once the user has logged on to the ABAP server and changed his password.
So, I looked in the logs. The log is full of the message.

    Hi,
on the server where your portal runs you have a user calles <SID>adm, where <SID> stands for the three-letter name of your system.
This user needs read/write rights on the SecStore files...

  • HT4796 I didn't change password when it first appeared and I don't remember my PC password

I transferred my PC to my Mac but missed the step to change the password. Now to open the info I have to use my password for my old computer and I don't remember it

Boot into Recovery by holding down cmd-r when you hear the startup tone.
Once it boots into Recovery, Go to the Utilities menu and select Terminal.
Type resetpassword and hit Return key.
Follow the prompts to select the hard drive, then your user name.
    Reset the password.
Once done, quit out of the password reset utility and then restart from the Apple menu.
Once you've restarted and logged in, open Keychain Access.
Open Preferences from the Keychain Access menu.
On the General tab, click Reset my Default keychain.
That will reset the default keychain so that it uses the same password as your login.

  • Avira Cloud box asking to send password when logging in to website.

I am getting a box showing from Avira Cloud which asks if I want to send my password to a new page when I log onto sites I have visited before to purchase products, etc. I can however log onto FB without any questions asked. what is this? and how do I stop it? I have not loaded any Avira products.

Does this happen on sites where you had Firefox save your password, or when you are logging in manually, or both?
Have you tried disabling your two anti-phishing add-ons to see whether that makes any difference? I'm wondering whether either of them is somehow connecting with Avira Cloud in the background.
Do you have any unusual connection settings here:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Network > "Settings" button
Using "No proxy" should connect directly to the internet, while "Use system proxy settings" should pick up the settings in IE.

  • Yosemite doesn't recognize special characters in password when logging in

    Hi everyone,
I installed Yosemite yesterday on my mid-2011 MBA and discovered that after restarting it, I was unable to log into it. First, I'd like to precise that I'm using a French keyboard, it could have an importance afterwards.
The password I use for my account is quite complex and uses a special character. Until now, it worked perfectly, but I discovered that, on Yosemite, I have to type twice the special character and the one after, in order to get it worked. Otherwise, it acts like if I haven't typed these two.
Also, this behavior is kind of weird because if I log out, I don't have the issue: it works perfectly. So the issue is just after a shut down/restart.
The only way I could restart the first time was by using the tool made from Apple when you loose your password (pressing the power button until it shuts down). Once my laptop entered that mode, I could just type my current password and choose a new one. But still, I don't get why it works on every screen, except the one after a shut down/restart.
I hope Apple could bring a quick fix for that because it's really annoying. Also, if someone gets the same issue, try to type twice the special character(s) and maybe the one(s) that is/are just after.
    Bye.

A password is classified as an oracle identifier and must conform to the rules for indentifiers. To include special characters you need to enclose it in double quotes e.g. "vos1s05!"

  • Login screen does not ask for password when logging into user account

This is an issue that did not immediately manifest itself after I have upgraded to Snow Leopard. I am not sure what exactly triggered it.
Anyway, now at the login screen if I choose to login with my own user account, i.e. clicking on the icon associated to my user account, I am not prompted for the password and the system seems to start trying to login, as there is a discernible pause. Obviously that will fail, and I am returned to the login screen again.
If I choose the other user option, as before I will be allowed to manually type in an user id and password, and using this way I am able to login into my own account (previously I only use this for logging in to the root account).
Any idea on how I can make the field for typing in the password appear again? Thanks.

Just to report that deleting /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow.plist did not help.
Anyway I installed Snow Leopard again and the problem went away. Hope I will not do something that will trigger it again.

  • New MBP changes resolution when logging out

I have a brand new MacBook Pro 2.2 GHz Intel Quad Core i7 with a high resolution glossy display which have a native resolution of 1680x1050 pixles. But almost every time after I log out the resolution changes to 1440x852. In System Settings the resolution says 1680x1050 but under it it says (usable resolution 1440x852), and it's clearly the latter that is upscaled. Also it appears like I'm having two screens, which I'm not, and I can't change the brightness of the screen. On top of it all, the computer gets very slow.
The only thing that seems to get rid of this bug is by disable automatic graphics switching in Energy system preferenses, but I kind of want automatic switching...
Is this a bug that is going to be fixed soon, or will I have to have it repaired?

to test the issue try to install gfxcardstatus (so you can see which card you are using) and logout using intel card (close all app or open some like itunes, appstore...), the logout is ok.
now, to try using ati open app like cheese,firefox...
you can also switch card directly using gfxcardstatus .
i don't know if it is a bug for some new mbp or for all.

  • ICloud rejects CORRECT password when logging in

Every time I log in to my computer (or restart), I get a window that asks me for my iCloud password.  Even though I enter it correctly, the window “wiggles” and clears out the password.  Multiple attempts to re-enter the password results in the same symptoms.  I’ve even reset the password and tried with this new password and the same thing happens.  The only way to make the window go away is to click on Cancel, not once, but twice.  I know the password is correct, because I can go to iCloud.com and log in successfully.  That same password also works with my Apple ID any time a password is requested, further reassuring me that I’m using the correct password.  Why is it continually being rejected at login?

I have this too. I had it for Facetime, but I logged out of it, but to log out of icloud i need to go into System Preferences, but it crashes every time i click on the Icloud icon. But only crashes for Icloud, everything else works fine.
