Changing Path

Hi,
I'm having troubles understanding how iphoto works. When I import some photos from some folder and then I change the name of that folder, iphoto can't find it (this is logical) but doesn't give me the option to "find" that specific folder in order to specify the new path. In case I burn that files into a DVD, I'm not going to be able to view them on iphoto anymore, unless I import them again.
I don't want to use the option that copies everything into the library, because this will duplicate my files, and the DVD RW drive is on my pc.
Help appreciated,
Luciano

Once imported into iPhoto, either with the alias system or normal system, you cannot do any renaming of files or folders from within iPhoto. If you use the alias system you can place your source file in a folder and then in iPhoto rename the roll. That will change the name of the subfolder in the Originals folder that contain the alias files for that roll. The source files are never touched from then on, even if you delete a photo from the library - using the alias system. Here are some Tutorials about using the alias system which might give you some ideas on how to set things up.
But Don't tamper with files in the iPhoto Library folder from the Finder

    Or any other idea?
    Regards,
    Ender

i don't understand why do you have to change the path for Ev4Excel.xla?
Basically this the addin of BPC into excel. I mean it is the BPC excel client.
You are choosing the path when you are performing the installation of SAP BPC.
So Idon't understand why do you want to change the path?
If you want to do this you have to reinstall the BPC client and you have to choose the path wanted.
You error is not related to the path it is more related to rights.
I think you have to provide more details about the steps done and in what condition you observer this error.

I'm coming to the realization that its not possible to do what I'm trying to do. Perhaps I need to configure the java runtime at the application server level rather than the OC4J instance level.
The only other alternative would be to run a standalone oc4j using 1.5, but I'd prefer to avoid this as we are already in configuration hell.
    Once again any input/feedback appreciated!!

  • StarSuite will not start up - help! Changed paths from one drive to another

    Hi all,
    I am using: StarSuite 8
    On an: ASUS eePC 900
    OS: Windows XP
This is my partner's computer. StarSuite 8 came with it the machine, but as yet she has not even gotten a chance to use it.
    It has two hard drives:
    C: drive is 4GB (with 500MG free), D: drive is 7.5GB (with 6.3GB free)
Windows, StarSuite 8, and everything else that came with the machine are all on the C: drive (the smaller one), which is why only 500MG are free (she has deleted everything else that wasn't an expensive program or the operating system; most of the 4GB is Windows XP as far as we can tell).
Previously, when she opened StarSuite 8 (swriter), when a new file would be opened, an error message appeared that said something along the lines of "Not enough disk space free" - i don't recall the exact wording.
As there where over 6 gigabytes free, we assumed the problem was that StarSuite 8 was somehow being dependant on the mostly used-up C: drive.
So i went into, i think,
    Tools -> Options
...and found a section to change the paths for the folders that StarSuite 8 seemed to be saving to, drawing templates from, etc.
I found those folders on the C: drive, under "Documents and Settings", copied them (without making any changes at all), saved the copies to the D: drive, replicated the whole file path.
Then i went back to Tools -> Options and whatever that section is to change the paths. I edited them to point to the D drive rather than the C drive, to my newly created and copied-over files, the paths now looked something like this:
D:Documents and Setting/Kathryne/Application Data/StarSuite 8/User/ <all the various folders, copied exactly from it's equivalent on the C drive.
I thought if StarSuite 8 looked at the D drive instead of the C drive, it would stop bringing up the error message that kept claiming there was "insufficient disk space". The only thing i changed about any path was that the letter "C" became "D", and the default folder to which files are saved became "D:Documents and Setting/Kathryne" rather than "My Documents" (because My Documents is on the C: drive).
I then created and saved an swriter file, as a test to make sure everything was working, and it saved fine. I can still see the file sitting there under "D:Documents and Setting/Kathryne".
Anyway, my partner (Kathryne, as you can guess), just fired up her eePC, tried to open StarSuite 8 - and nothing happened. It will not open.
So she right-clicked on a .doc file, selected "Open With swriter", and it worked - the file was opened up.
But you can't do anything on it. When you hover the cursor over any of the menu buttons, it just turns into a little hourglass and does nothing. Task Manager says that it is "Not Responding", and it will stay like that for ages. It doesn't work at all. I cannot get back into the "Tools" menu to change all the file paths back to their default settings - it just won't let me.
My normal response would be to uninstall and reinstall, and just erase all the changes i've made that way. But this is an eePC - there is no optical drive on this machine, it was all pre-installed, and uninstalling StarSuite 8 would leave us with no way to get it back.
Can anybody help me, please? I had no idea changing the paths might make the program non-functional, especially as i copied all of the path folders over without making any changes to them. I thought at the worst i would be able to go back into it and change the paths back to default; and like i said, i saved a test file with it after making the changes, and it seemed to work fine. But apparently I'm an idiot.
Can anyone rescue me from this guilt?

    1) - it isn't.
    2) I haven't been. Tried it just then to see if anything different happened, but no.
    3) It does. I justdid that, and it seems to have solved the problem.
It opened up, ultra-fast (faster than MS Office ever has...), and it generated multiple error messages (presumably to let me know that it couldn't find the files it keeps in those folders?):
"Error loading BASIC of document file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Kathryne/Application%Data/StarSuite8/user/basic/script.xlc/:
    General Error.
    General input/output error."
"Error loading BASIC of document file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Kathryne/Application%Data/StarSuite8/user/basic/dialog.xlc/:
    General Error.
    General input/output error."
"Error loading BASIC of document file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Kathryne/Application%Data/StarSuite8/user/basic/dialogs.xli/:
    General Error.
    General input/output error."
After clicking "Okay" to each error message, i typed a short sentence in the file, and successfully saved it (to the C: drive, even), without seeing any trace of the "not enough space" type messages that used to come up. And after closing the program and opening it again, i haven't seen these messages reappear.
    4) I will tell let her know that it is recommended!
    5) She did this last night, and has been using it in the meantime. I think she still wants StarSuite 8, but she is aware of OpenOffice.
    (6) - I haven't done this, as your suggestion (3) seems to have fixed it.)
Thank-you very much for the advice and the time you spent in replying, i really appreciate this. Your suggestion seems to have fixed the problem. I am hoping that the error messages listed above won't reappear - i assume that was just the program telling me that the user folders were missing, and that it re-created them soon after? I guess similar messages will appear (and disappear) upon opening Calc and the others, as well.
The original problem - the error messages relating to disk space - has not re-appeared, i have nooo idea why, but all seems fine for now.Thank-you again for your advice! :)

  • How to change path of Users Terminal Services Profile for multiple AD users on server 2003?

Hello experts. I am working on a file server migration. All data has been migrated, I am currently working on redirecting users to the new file server. I
am able to select multiple users at once in ADUC -> right-click -> properties -> profile and here I can change the home folder and roaming profile path for each all users to point towards the new file server.
The issue I have run in to is that we have roaming profiles for terminal services users. So, there are hundreds of users that have their terminal services profile
configured in AD -> Right-click user (one at a time) -> properties -> terminal services profile. Here, the profile path is configured for each user as \\OLDserver\Profiles\%username%
and I need to change it to \\NEWserver\profiles\%username%.
I know that you can configure this path via group policy, I set up a GPO; Computer / Administrative Templates / Windows Components / Terminal Services / “Set Path
for TS Roaming Profiles” as \\NEWserver\profiles and applied this GPO to an OU containing the TS servers.
The problem is, the GPO is not working... When I log in to the TS and add a document to My Documents, it is still saving under \\OLDserver\profiles\Username.
So, the settings in AD are trumping the GPO I believe. What is the best way to accomplish my goal? Thanks in advance!

    > to change it to \\NEWserver\profiles\%username%.
That is "profile" in opposite to...
    > add a document to My Documents, it is still saving under
    > \\OLDserver\profiles\Username.
...this one which is Folder Redirection and has NOTHING to do with
    server based profiles.
    > So, the settings in AD are trumping the GPO I believe.
No, it isn't. When you do not enable FR and you access "Documents", you
will never see an UNC path but the local c:\users\xyz\documents folder.

  • How can you change path for converted PPD files?  Default goes to /var/...

    Hi,
I'm pretty new to the Solaris 10 world and I'm attempting to troubleshoot some Xerox print issues. One of our Oracle Users may send a print job through with an HP Initialization String...yes you read that right, and cause the Printing services to Yo-Yo.
I've installed the Xerox Printer Administration Tool 4.30.28 and then installed the most current driver package. Thing is, either the services will still bounce or the job will not print. Understandable because of the HP Initialization String.
However, I tried using the Solaris Print Manager w/ a generic Xerox driver and the Print Services did not bounce. I thought then that I would try using the actual Xerox Workcentre 7655 driver by converting the driver from Xerox and using the PPDMgr tool. Thing is, I could figure out how to really change the path so that the driver would get dropped in the /usr/lib/lp/model/ppd/system/foomatic directory.
    Any way to do this?
    Thank you for your time,
    Mr Mister

    Hello Eric
I am using the "UserDefinedErrorsDir" in LabVIEW 7.1 /7.1.1 Windows and Linux.
But there is a "syntax" problem. Let me explain this:
    If you enter
    UserDefinedErrorsDir=C:\
into your LabVIEW.ini File, LabVIEW will not search the Files in your C:\      Directory...
LabVIEW search the *-errors.txt Files in the
    C:\errors\
    Directory!
That mean that you have to create a folder with the name errors in your UserDefinedErrorsDir and after that you only have to copy all your *-errors.txt Files into this folder.

  • Changing Path file with iterations over loop

     Hi there -- I need some help with changing a file name with every iteration of a for loop, eg;
    Iteration 1, file path = iteration1.lvm
    Iteration 2, file path = iteration2.lvm
    etc
    etc...
I've attached a picture of the loop and the file name, along with the vi.
    Please help!
    Thanks

    Hi Maryam,
for one solution see the attached picture. In the Express vi which you are use, you can use the option to automatically create new filenames if the connected filename already exists.

  • How to change path in oratab for ASM ?

    RAC 11g @Linux RedHat.
In /etc/oratab I have a path to grid home with trailing '/' char. I want to remove it. I stopped cluster, changed /etc/oratab, started cluster but ASM agent overwrote the /etc/oratab. How to change it permanently ? How to persuade ASM agent the correct path ?
    Thanks in advance.

I have 2 separate inventory.xml files. One for database home and one for grid. The line form grid inventory.xml:
    <HOME NAME="oraGrid11gR2_20121015" LOC="/optware/grid/11.2.0.3" TYPE="O" IDX="1" CRS="true">
    while in /etc/oratab is
    "/optware/grid/11.2.0.3/"
And ps -ef | grep d.bin shows:
    root     30218     1  0 Feb15 ?        00:01:31 /optware/grid/11.2.0.3/bin/ohasd.bin reboot

  • Change path inside and outside areas in vector mask

    Hey all PS/CS lovers,
That's probably an easy one, yet, being rather new to this, I have to ask.
So I have this vector mask on a layer, and while singing along to the Beatles I'm editing paths on it. Well, all it is is a rectangle to reframe a photo, nothing crazy. But that rectangle is too big to my taste - so I just draw another, smaller one inside it and plan on deleting the first one.
But ! The second, smaller rectangle is viewed as a takeout from the first one (so its inside is considered "black" mask-wise, i.e. cut out, and its outside is "white", i.e. kept in). Thus, when deleting the first, bigger one, the entirety of the picture appears, except for the part I want in the middle, that's cut out ! Yes - that's the opposite of what I want.
Now, I tried using the path selection tool and changing the fill color of the rectangle, but you can't ... So, how do you invert inside and outside of a closed path ? Thanks in advance !

Select the Path with the Path Selection Tool and in the Options Bar change the Path Operations setting.

  • Can't change path to JVM

    Hello all,
I recently installed the latest JDK (jdk1.5.0_14), but when trying to start a server the path defaults to a previous JRE path (jre1.6.0_03), and so I get the error that there is no server VM in that directory.
I've added the JDK path to the environment variable (the original JRE path was not there at all), and even changed all references in the registry.
In the Java control panel I've added the JDK's VM paths (both the root bin and jre folders) for the JNLP on the USER tab, disabling the other JVMs, but can't do anything on the SYSTEM tab.
I'm inexperienced with Java so apologies if I haven't made any sense, or its a simple fix. I'm at a loss to know where it's picking up the path from, and any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Matthew
**Edit. So actually not the latest JDK, just the one that was recommended. Can you run a JDK older than a newer installed JRE?**

    1. which server are you using?
    2. your server is referring JRE right, while installing the server you was gave the JRE path right, so try to change you JRE location in your server configurations, then your server will point to right JRE,

  • Changing path of multiple files in iTunes.

I have a fun one for you. Every time I have an update for iTunes, it decides that it randomly no longer wants to recognize certain songs on certain playlists on my iPhone. The latest episode decided that of the 25k songs in my library it wanted to do it for about 2k of them. The best part is that they are all songs on playlists. So there are random songs from thousands of albums that have this as their path: file://localhost/C:/Users/Brian/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/etc.....
I have all of my music on an external drive, and changing the path for all of my music to the default and then reassigning it to the external drive does not work.
What I would like to do is select all of the songs that have this path and change them all at the same time so that I don't have to spend 2 days doing it one song at a time. Any insight?
    Thank you!
Actually here's an update - upon exploring the folder that each of the files should be in, I have come to find that iTunes has magically deleted all of the files from my computer and from my hard drive. They are still on my iPhone.....wow, incredibly annoying.

Take a look at this page from microsoft, it has one of three Methods to solve your problem (note they are talking bout installing a different product, but the error messages are the same):
