I have said bye bye to my Mac so I will now need to connect my iPod video to Windows.
I want to just check here before I connect it for the first time to iTunes 6 in Windows so I know what to expect.
I have successfully transferred all my songs / playlists into my iTunes in Windows.
Custom AMD 64 Box Windows XP Pro NForce 4 / Athlon 64 3000+ / Nvidia FX 6200

YOu are most likely going to have to reformat. Pc's don't like the Mac format. There is a program that you can run on a PC that will allow the iPod to run on a PC in the mac format, but it costs a bit. IF you've already transferred everything over, I suggest just reset it right away. Everything else about the programs and functions are the same. One thing that's better is you can pull music back off you iPod without a program. YAY!

How do i restore it on my PC? I thought i understood the whole can't be read on PC once has been read by mac etc. But i had a PC and thats what i started my iPod on. Then it broke so i switched ot my make; it did not work. This is my second iPod and i do not want to break it this time!!!

Do you have Acrobat 10 or an older version? If you have a copy of Acrobat 10 then you can complete the process detailed in Order an Adobe product platform swap or language swap to obtain a Mac OS version.
If you have an older version then you will want to purchase the upgrade to Acrobat 10. We no longer offer older versions of Acrobat.

You do not need a new license or a new serial number. Just download the Mac version and use your existing serial number.

HT4484 Migrating from @mac to @me with Apple ID/primary email

I'm not sure if anyone else has come across this, but i have had an apple email address back from when @mac was the thing which then got replaced with mobileme (@me), so I think switched all my friends to my new @me account, but as I set my Apple ID and primary address to be my @mac address like 10 years ago the Apple ID service won't allow you to modify this setting and go with the new domain. I can login using either but when I login to iCloud to check my personal email from away from my iMac it goes with whatever has been set with the primary account in iCloud. So now my friends get emails from me at home from @me and from icloud from @mac.
Should i forget the @me deal and just go back to my @mac account to get rid of the dupe email addresses and confusion i'm causing all of my friends?
MobileMe tech support had no solution other than to contact iCloud tech support. iCloud techsupport is only for the service related on specific hardware so nothing is related or i'd have to pay to talk to someone who probably can't do anything.
Apple, it is stupid you can't change your apple ID or primary email address when you're using an apple domain. I know you can do it as you show it in the support document (http://support.apple.com/kb/HE40), but it's not there for me.

You can remove it as your rescue email address by logging into the account via the 'manage your apple id' button on http://appleid.apple.com, selecting the Password & Security section of your account, and answering your security questions : Manage your Apple ID primary, rescue, alternate, and notification email addresses - Apple Support
You can then try putting it as your primary email address (you may need to log out after doing the above and log back in), and putting what is currently your primary email address as your rescue email address.

Switching from Mac to Windows with no CD

Yes, I too fell in love at first sight with the nano, and will be giving my mini to my boyfriend (who got it for me in the first place). He uses PCs and Windows.
I did a search on reformatting the mini from Mac to Windows but all the answers seemed to involve installing the iPod for Windows software. I don't seem to have this anymore, and Apple helpfully doesn't provide it for download.
Sooo...how is my boyfriend to reformat my mini for PC? Will just plugging it into a machine loaded with iTunes for Windows do it?
Sorry if this is an often asked question; maybe what I should be asking is where or whether I can get the iPod for Windows software. Will whatever is provided with the nano work for the mini on a PC?

Download the latest version of iTunes and the iPod software updater onto the PC. Install iTunes, then the iPod software updater. Then run the iPod software updater, connect the mini when told, and choose to restore.

Missing data on ical from mac after syncing with iphone

You will have to order an Adobe Cross Platform Swap to use your software on an OS different from the one that you purchased it for. For more details, see the document Order an Adobe product platform swap or language swap. If your need to use the software is real urgent, I'd recommend that you install a trial version till you get your serial number from Adobe.

When i copy the tracks from mac to pc with itunes,why the long names of the tracks changes to short?

Because the PC version of iTunes uses a naming scheme that limits file and folder names to 40 characters (inclusive of the extension).
If you want the original longer file/folder names then disable the option to Keep iTunes Music folder organized before copying the files over. Alternatively I have written a script called ConsolidateByMoving which will generate long paths if you change the declaration Std=True to Std=False.

Transferring iTunes from Mac to PC with library already on a network drive

I recently bought a MacBook Pro and need to transfer all of my iTunes content from my Windows laptop. This is for use with my retina ipad mini.
I already had my iTunes library located in a folder on a NAS drive. Note I don't have any iTunes server or home sharing set up - I simply located the library on the NAS drive. Anyway I have pointed the Mac iTunes to the folder and can sync fine with my mini. However none of my books or music (other than a couple of items I purchase from apple) has appeared in the library on the Mac iTunes.
The content is however all still there on my iPad mini.
The guides I've found on here don't seem to apply to my situation. I am not moving the physical library at all - I just want the Mac iTunes to start using the library that's already there on my NAS.
Any ideas how I can get this to work?
Also how do i get my books content into iBooks, either from my mini or from the library?

Hold down the option/alt key while starting iTunes and guide it to the library.itl file in the iTunes folder on the NAS.

I've been a Mac user for 3 years but recently my G4 iBook has broken, and I've had to purchase a Dell laptop. But I'm having a few problems copying across my files from the Mac to the PC....
- Before my Mac broke, I managed to back up all my files (mainly music and photos) onto a Maxtor external hard drive. But now when I plug this into my new PC laptop, it does not come up. I cannot access any of the files. Any ideas why not?!
- Secondly, is it possible to use my iPod with the PC laptop (even though it has only ever been used on the Mac), without losing the music? It's asking me to re-format the iPod when I plug it into the PC laptop, but I really don't want to lose the music, particularly as I can't get any of my files off the external hard drive!!
In a bit of a pickle with it all and would really appreciate some (jargon-free!) advice.

Can't download library books to my ADE, v. 3.0 from Mac OS X, with Yosemite download

i have a Mac OS X 10 w. Yosemite download. am having trouble downloading library books to ADE, v. 3.0, which i would then like to transfer to my Simple touch Nook. I noticed that the authorization is for a DRM but the books are ACSM. should i change the computer authorization and if so, how do i do this?

I did find a book that i had checked out from the library in the documents file. however, the book wants to open in iBooks. i want the book to go to my Simple Touch Nook and i thought that i could only do that through ADE, v. 3, which i have downloaded (several times). however i can’t get the library books to download or go to ADE anymore. I reauthorized the computer, using an Overdrive authorization, but i still can’t get books to download to ADE. i believe that before all this trouble, i had an ADE authorization. I was wondering if i should de-authorize the computer (but don’t know how to do that) and re-insert an ADE authorization. (but of course i don’t really know how to do that either). i have spent so much time one this matter that i can’t remember what i’ve done. Nook and Apple say that this is an ADE problem, and i have reviewed the discussions in the Forums, but so far i haven’t found anything exactly on point — or perhaps i just don’t recognize an answer that is staring me in the face.

IDOC interface change platform (from MQseries to XI)

Dear all,
Need your advice. We have existing IDoc inbound and outbound communicating with partner by using EDI XML file port. FYI, MQseries is sitting in between our SAP system and partner system.
For now, we are changing 2 things:
1. Replace MQseries with XI. Means in future our inbound and outbound IDoc is going through XI.
2. While for Port, it is changing from EDI XML file port to normal TRFC port (these are in WE20).
Might need your favor for below:
1. For outbound, I need to change the ALE setting by pointing to XI. Am i right?
2. While for inbound, i do not need to do anything. Am i right?
3. Since we change the communication method to TRFC port. So just want to know do we need to change or fix anything on the existing Inbound and Outbound program.
Need your expertise advise here.

Files to memory stick from mac not compatible with windows?

Before I installed leopard I was easily able to copy photos, files and other docs to my memory card sticks and have them read on windows no problem but not now with leopard.
What should I do? What's the best format to format the card so that windows users can read my files or that I can transfer my files to a HD from my mac and copy to windows.

Well...it seems like my perfectly good 2GB card crashed on me. Your right, it doesn't work on any computer and it even failed the format option in windows.
