Changing Print head on HP Officejet Pro 8500

How do you install a new printhead on the HP officejet 8500 pro? I cannot get the print heads to move to the left so I can change the printhead. There is no OK botton to push and when you open the top, it says to change the printhead, push the * for 5 seconds with all the doors closed.  That doesn't work either.  Any help?

  • Iphone e print/air print issues with HP Officejet Pro 8500 Premier All-in-One A909n

I downloaded the 4.2 upgrade for iphone thinking I would be able to print from my HP Officejet Pro 8500 Premier All-In-One A909n.  I have upgraded the HP firmware.  I have turned my printer on and off.  I get an error message that says "No printer found."  I am not able to contact HP due to my warranty being expired--even though I bought the extended warranty from the store.  Please help.  Thanks!

    This printer is listed here:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01619067&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3857218#N46...
has offering eprint.  However, some community messages say that it does not work.
I have not been able to get an email address set up for the printer, or to figure out whether or not it is web services enabled.
It does not have the icon on the touch screen that is shown in the hp instructions.
    Any clues out there?

  • Print Quality Issues on OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909g

The print utility says that the onlly cartridge getting low on ink is the yellow, but the guide says not to change the cartridge until it gives you the message to change it. And it has been printing OK until today, when the black ink started getting splotchy. But the utility shows plenty of black ink in the cartridge. I cleaned the print heads, and that changed nothing. I printed out a print head health quality test, and oddly the only thing that printed was two blocks of magenta--the rest totally blank. Odd because the print utility only shows the yellow getting low and that not even ready to change.
I don't want to open up new cartridges for nothing because these signs don't necessarily add up to this being due to empty cartridges. So I am stuck as to how discover what the problem is.

  • Is there an App for a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.5 to be able to print to a HP Officejet Pro 8500

I am in the market to purchase a Samsung Galaxy S 10.5 Tablet.  Samsung has told me that to be able to print from the tablet, I need to install an app recommended by HP.  I do not know where to go to find out if an app is available to make the printing from this tablet to my printer (HP Officejet Pro 8500) is available.  I do not want to purchase a tablet that I can not print from.  Any help will be appreciated.  Thank you.

    Hi Barb-8400,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.   I see that you would like to know if there is an app to print from your Samsung mobile device to your Officejet Pro 8500 A909a printer.
Your printer supports printing using the HP ePrint mobile app when the printer and the table are both connected to the same wireless network. I have included the HP ePrint Mobile App FAQ document for reference. Please note that the HP ePrint app does require the mobile device being running Android 4.0 and up, the attached document has not been updated to reflect that recent change.
    Enjoy your new tablet!

Help!  I have an OfficeJet Pro L7580  and the ink was running dry on the black and yellow.  I replaced the ink, but now it still will not print.  It says there is a problem with the yellow and black print heads.   Question is where do I get them and how much do they cost and will that fix my problem?  I have found them in my computer and can take them out with no problem, just don't know how to get new ones!

The online HP Parts Store should be able to help get the part:

  • Duplex Printing on a HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 Wireless Printer

Duplex printing - 1.  How do you change the settings to make the printer print on both sides of a single sheet of paper?
                             2.  How do you change the settings to make the printer print on both sides of a single sheer of paper and
when it prints the backside of the sheet it rotates the text so that when you read the text you FLIP it
up vertically to read the backside rather than just turning the over to read the text on the backside.
I thought I knew the answer to this question - but yesterday when I printed an Owner's Manual for a friend the printer printed 10 sheets that you had to FLIP the sheet over to read the text on the other side (Note: FLIP was not "X"'d.  Then when I printed again I changed the setting so that FLIP was "X"d and it printed with the orientation that I needed (just turn the sheet over to read the text  on the backside of the sheet).
NO instructions about "Printer Settings" came with the printer so I am in the dark about "HOW TO" things.  As I said before I thought I need how to do it - but it performed exactly backwards as I had thought,,,Have I got TOO old to remember HOW TO set up settings?  Would appreciate help with this and where I can do to get info about HP Printer Settings.  Thanks in advance.

  • Can't print on my HP OfficeJet Pro 8500/910

I have had my PC and printer connected wirelessly for years without a problem.  I recently moved, and Comcast installed a new modem with a built in router.  I wasn't getting a good signal throughout the house, so i hooked up my original router, as well so I know have two wireless options.
Now when I try and print, I get an error that the computer can't communicate with the printer.  I ran a wireless test report and it  shows that wireless is on (PASS) and working (PASS).  I ran the HP troubleshooter on my PC and it detected that the printer was turned Off.  This was certainly not the case.  I tried unplugging/replugging the printer, but that didn't work.  I ran the wireless setup wizard just for the heck of it, and i've re-started my PC several times.
    Any suggestions would be welcome.

Make and model or your router (not Comcast).  Status of blue wireless light on printer, on off or blinking?  (  I believe you are connected now).
Go here for your support page and follow the procedures now for wireless issues including setup and troubleshooting.

  • Current update has intermittent problem of printing gibberish with HP Officejet Pro 8500. No problems before most recent update.

Even in Print Preview will show as gibberish--and print as gibberish. If repeatedly open document to print, suddenly it Previews & Prints correctly.

Have you moved the paper guides to properly align the envelopes?  I do not see how envelopes can be loaded in any position but the center with the paper guides set snugly.  See page 42 (46) of the manual here.  Also, if you have the optional second paper tray note that envelopes are not supported in it, you need to use the top tray.

  • HT3669 HP Officejet Pro 8500 Print to Fax with Mountin Lion

Does anyone know how to install the Fax Printer for an HP Officejet Pro 8500 to work with Mountain Lion? HP website says it's in Mountain Lion. Apple Support says its not, but it is a known problem and that HP has the fix. HP Yech Support reads tje website to you, then tells you to delete all the printer on your system and sart over. Never had a HP, but with my Canon device that supports Faxing from OS X, you see multiple entries in the Default view of the Add printer window. One for printing, one for scanning and one for faxing. When you select the entry showing Fax in the Kind column, the supporting fax driver is selected.

  • Can't install Officejet Pro 8500 A910 on the network in my Windows XP laptop

Everything installs normally except connection options fail to detect the printer when the network connection is selected. The prompt that follows for network type also fails when wired (Ethernet) is selected. Firewalls are turned off during installation.
The network printer can be seen by the HP Home Network Diagnostic Utility. Using the HP Home Network Diagnostic Utility to check connection indicates software missing, connection verified, and test print failed.
The Officejet Pro 8500 A910 Embedded Web Server can be opened from the web browser by entering the IP address.
Changing the printer port to the IP address allows the printer to work but does not enable all of the all-in-one functions such as scanning or running HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910.exe.
Turning the power off and back on to the printer, computer, and router did not fix the problem. Re-installing the software several times did not fix the problem.
The installation works normally with other computers on the same network that run Windows Vista or Windows 7.
So far, customer support has not been able to help.

    Resolved, not solved.
I talked to HP product support. The Officejet Pro 8500 A910 will not install on Windows XP (at least the Home Edition) when networked through a router. It will install through USB. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it with only USB connected to clean out all the network printer/scanner information. Product support claimed it would install through an ether net cable connected between the printer and computer but this does little good if you need internet access.
