Changing processor- Is there any bios update to do?

hye, before this, i'm using intel core 2 duo e6300. but i have change to intel QX9650. is there any bios update i have to do to avoid any conflicts.
btw, i'm using windows xp professional. i heard that msi motherboard will update the bios automatically when the processor is changed. is that true?
if not, what i have supposed to do right now?

...the P45 Platinum officially supports the Intel QX9650 since BIOS v1.0. So basically, in terms of processor support, you do not need a newer BIOS to make sure the QX9650 is initialized and handled properly by the system. If you do not have any problems with your system and everything appears to be functioning just fine, a BIOS Update is not absolutly necessary at the moment.
In case you need to update your BIOS in the future, please do not use MSI Live Update or any other Windows based flashing applications. Instead, >>Use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<<, which will automatically prepare an USB Flash Drive for a save BIOS Flash from a plain DOS Environment, which remains the safest method for that kind of procedure. Of course, you should ensure that your system is running 100% stable before a BIOS Update even becomes an options. What you don't want and need is a system crash during the flashing procedure (which will most likely render your board useless).

AES-NI has been enabled since the T410 series.
Run the tool from that other thread and see if it's there.

Well when you download the update with iTunes it will always download the whole new version (in your case 7.0.2) even if its just an bug fix. If you already have 7.0 download the update over-the-air.
You already wrote that the update is only 21 MB, so its not the whole firmware package of 7.0.2 you get with iTunes.

Apple isn't providing more updates to Mac OS X Snow Leopard because it's a discontinued Mac OS X version. Now, if you have to use plugins as Java or Flash, it's dangerous to continue using them with Leopard, so I recommend you to upgrade to Mac OS X Snow Leopard at least > http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard

Are there any firmware updates for Time Capsule/Time machine?
I just had a new hybrid (SSD and spinning disk) drive (750 GB) installed on my MacBook Pro and used Boot Kamp to partition it and run Windows xp. Now, my previously working Time Machine won't function. It says the "sparsebundle" is open (or in use) preventing the back-up from working properly. When I try and remove and re-install Time Capsule as the disk to back-up to, it still doesn't work. My plan "B" is get a second Time Capsule and dedicate it to the MacBook. But, I fear I'll face the same problem.
When I open to reconfigure Time Machine, the Time Capsule disk is identified as the back-up, but it's also seen in the "available disks to use for back-up" along with with Boot Kamp disk which is part of the new SSD hybrid hard drive just installed. (Remember it's the partitioned part running Windows xp.)
I've unplugged/plugged-in the ethernet internet connection and the power cord many times to no avail. The message still says the sparsebundle is in the way.
Do you think deleting Boot Kamp disk from the list of available hard drives might solve the problem?

TM can only use AFP and only on disks formatted HFS+ (ie Mac Extended Journaled) so it should not bring up a boot camp partition as a possible destination at all .. but I have not done that seutp.

That error is well known. It should simply required the TC to be restarted..
That sometimes gets things working where the simple restart won't.
I would recommend using short names, with no spaces and pure alphanumeric.

If you have a more complicated setup.. I would recommend firstly doing a TM reset in the computer.
See A4 in the same reference.
Do a verify then of the sparsebundle on the TC.. A5 but you might need to inherit the old backup if you want to continue an old backup.. A new hard disk will make the TM consider the old backup no longer belongs to the computer.. there is a UUID connection to the actual hard disk used in the backup.
Again read the info in pondini. B5 and B6.
The sparsebundle in use is C12 but there are a number of sparsebundle issues in section C.. C17 is another common issue.
Some of what you have done is not adequate.. eg disconnecting ethernet is not enough.. you need to reboot the TC.

You want to check compatibility of your apps and that your Mac can support ML.
Also, although the specs say 2GB of RAM, IMO 4GB should be a minimum.
The app Store DL is slow. Once you DL it, before installing it copy the installer from your Applications folder, so if you ever need to use it again you have it. The reason for this is that it self destructs after restart.

for anyone who reads this thread although my new 7800gt/co are non MSI, I wanted to list a stern warning to beware of what bios these cards are shipping with, I have never had so many problem swith a set of cards in my entire life, the vendors are playing russian roulette with the delta clock settings in the bios, effectively makeing the cards auto throttle 40mhz when dettecting a high performance app running, which causes a lot of problem when you have already overclocked the card manually without taking this auto +40mhz into effect, I finally got some resolution with a revised bios release, but be on the look out for this fluffing scheme the are doing with this cards.
