Changing profile parameters

i want to change a few profile parameters - when i search them in transaction RZ10 - i can't find them but when i search them in transaction TU02 i do find them but i can't change them - how can i change these profile parameters?

Hi Moshe,
You can change parameters using RZ10, just open the right profile, then click on the Display <-> Chnage button, and then modify or add new parameter, then press copy go back and Save.
Restart SAP for the change to take place.

  • Changing dynamic profile-parameters in batch

    Hello,
want to change dynamic profile parameters (rdisp/btctime) in batch.
I know that i can change this in Transaction RZ11 - but i must change it, depending on our
    batchstrategy in the night.
best way for me - is to change it via batchprogram - with variant 'parameter' - 'value'.
    thank you for help

  • Which R3-Profil-Parameters are Reported ?!?

I have a Sap Solution Manager (SSM) with Enhancement Package1 which gets data for the EWA (Early Watch Alerts) once a week (on sundays) from the connected SAP Systems. The data is then saved in a set of tables named "DSWPBI_*", i.e.
    DSWPBI_Server
    DSWPBI_Sysdata
    DSWPBI_System
For Auditing Issues i am specially interested in the R3-profil-parameters which are stored in the table DSWPBI_Server. My question regarding the values for these parameters is:
Which value will be stored (and reported later) when a profil parameter is changed dynamically (means the parameter will be activated without restarting the system). For example the dynamically changeable parameter xyz may be set to the value "1" in the instance profil but is dynamically changed to "2" during operations. Which of these values will be found (and reported) in the table DSWPBI_Server ?
Is it the value "2" because it is the momentarily active one or is it "1" because it is the value saved in the profile file (and will be active after the next reboot) ???
    Thanks you for your help,
    Christoph

  • Profile parameters

    Hi all ,
my system showing one warning .Actually i am having ECC with Abap. When ever I was entering the RZ10 t code and click on to the display ,create or any button it showing this warning "there is no any profile parameters".can you suggest to me how can i add profile parameters i mean default profile parameters.
    regards ,
    sai

    you can set profile parameters....
SAP profiles are operating system files that contain instance setup information. The profiles are stored under /usr/sap/SID/SYS/profile directory.
The following three types of parameter files are defined in SAP:
    u2022 Default -DEFAULT
    u2022 Start profile - START_DVEBMGS00_
    u2022 Instance profile - SID_DVEBMGS00_
These parameters are used for setting the system parameters. These parameters can be maintained by the transaction u2018RZ10u2019 or through the menu:
    CCMS ->Configuration ->Profile maintenance
    For creating a new profile:
    1. Execute transaction u2018RZ10u2019
    2. Specify the name of the profile that is to be created and choose Profile -> Create. The system creates the version number automatically.
    3. Enter a short description of the profile, the filename into which the profile should be activated, a reference server and the profile type. Then choose Copy.
    4. You can maintain parameters and their values by flagging either Basic or Extended maintenance and choosing Maintain.
    5. Once the changes are made, choose Copy to return to the initial screen of Transaction RZ10.
    6. Then check, save and activate the profile that has been created
    7. After this the instance has to be restarted
and also use the links which i provided in my previous post.

  • Profile parameters controlling idle passwords

We are planning to activate the two profile parameters:
    login/password_max_idle_initial
    login/password_max_idle_productive
on our productive ERP system to control the validity of idle initial & productive passwords.
Our Basis-team are concerned about this, because the change will take effect on all clients on the system. Once in a while they need access to client 000, 001 & 066 and now they fear that the passwords on their personal accounts will be expired when they try log on to those clients (nobody, except the basis-guys have access to client 000,001 & 066)
I would like to hear from you, how you handle this issue in your installation.
    Best regards,
    Peter Jæger

Luckily for you, people have thought this to be usefull before and it was added to the [SDN Security Funactionality Wishlist |https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/Security/Abilitytoassignsecuritypoliciestospecific+users] some time ago.
Last I heard, the status was that the code base for the feature was approved and already implemented. The application components to be able to use it will be delivered with a future release (so you are looking at sometime next year).
Anyway, why don't you give the basis folks the ability to logon to client 000 from their SolMan using trusted RFC? This was the local password can be deactivated without any interuptions and when the do need it for some reason, they go via the SolMan and reset the password in SU01.

  • Changing gateway parameters in OS level

    Hello experts,
Please let me know how to change the SAP gateway parameters in OS level, Where it is possible to do in SMGW transaction code in SAP level.
As my Operating System will be UNIX.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
The gateway is installed within an instance by the dispatcher and reads its parameters from the profile file located in the profile directory in the SAP directory tree.
This means that the parameter can be changed in production operation (in transaction RZ10 or in the gateway monitor (SMGW) by choosing Goto ® Parameter ® Change. See Changing Gateway Parameters).
    Hope this helps.

  • SAP profile parameters

    Hi,
Wanted to know , how to access SAP profile ,where and how do i log on and using which user name?
Basically I want to change some parameters on SAP profile :
    1) mpi/total_size_MB
    2) rdisp/wp_no_dia
    3) SETENV_<xxx>
    4) ztta/max_memreq_MB
    thank you.

    Hi,
You can change the parameters 1), 2) and 4) by using transaction RZ10 in R/3 or the profile in the directory:
\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\profile. The setenv is a command and you can set the setenv command at OS level.

  • [solved]script fails when changing profile through powerdevil.

i use ondemand governor and i want to change up_threshold value.
Whenever i change profile through powerdevil up_threshold gets its default vaule of 80.
what i did was to create a script named threshold containing the lines:
    #!/bin/bash
    sudo sh -c 'echo 50 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/ondemand/up_threshold'
i have also set through /etc/sudoers that this script is passwordless for my user.
if i run the script, it successfully changes the value. It also runs successfully if i put it in startup.
My problem is that it fails to run when i choose it to run when a profile loads through powerdevil. I am refering to the feature shown below :
at first i thought that this function has a problem. so i chose to run kate, and when i changed profile, kate started immediately. So i guess that there is a problem with my script.
    Any ideas?

Anyway, i would like to use CPU frequency scaling, but in the powermanagement settings,
i cant shoose anything for frequency scaling.
What do i have to do to be able to set "ondemand" or "always lowest frequency"?
Wich daemons and/or modules do i have to activate to change the frequency policy?
Would be very nice if someone could help me.

  • Unable to change profiles on Express

I have both an AirPort Extreme and an Express. I have the Extreme as my base station and my Express configured to join my network to stream AirTunes on my stereo. This setup works fine, but I want to take my Express to my parents' house and use it as a base station there and be able to use my laptop wirelessly. I created two profiles, one for home and one for at my parents. The home profile includes the join existing wireless network option, the parents profile creates a wireless network. I created the profiles while at home, took the Express over to my parents and jacked in to their router. AAU did not recognize the Express. The yellow light just kept blinking. I did a reset on it and went through setting it up using AirPort Setup Utility. Worked fine, profile was still there. Went home and AAU didn't recognize Express again. Hard reset, etc.,etc. I was under the impression that by simply plugging in the Express that AAU would see the Express, I would select it, click configure, and select my profile. It doesn't seem to work like that. I even tried connecting some CAT5 cable between my PowerBook and the ethernet connection on the Express to no avail. How are you supposed to change profiles for different locations?
PowerBook G4, Blue and White G3>4   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

The problem is that client mode on the Express turns
off the access point functionality so that you cannot
connect to it. It's a necessary consequence of a
device that's as versatile as the Airport Express.
Hmm. Unfortunately I guess that makes sense (and would explain why plugging in with an ethernet cable didn't even get me access). So the only way to get around a reset is to change the profile prior to pulling the AX off the network it's a client of? Makes sense, but still seems like an unresolved design problem.
The upside though, if I do a bit of infering from what you've suggested, is that the AX (currently running as Remote) may switch to Client automatically when I get back to my other location. If it does, then at least one pre-emptive switch declaration is eliminated. One could hope.

Have you noticed any difference between your MacBook and others at the Apple store? Wondering whether this is a configurable setting at the system level, i.e., DPI.
You can default Firefox to a larger zoom level to avoid having to zoom every page. You'll still be able to adjust the size for individual sites as needed. It sounds as though you are aware of these add-ons:
    * Default FullZoom Level: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/
    * NoSquint: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint/
There are some discussions about changing coming in Firefox 22 (I think) to address higher density displays like the Retina display. So perhaps there will be a built-in setting to address this in the future.

  • How to change NLS parameters in Oracle XE?

    Hi
I have to change some parameters in database using Oracle XE server but I don't know how to do it. I must change these parameters:
    NLS_CHARACTERSET
    NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET
    How to do it?
    Thanks for help.

Thanks, but I'm newbie and I have to ask you about more details :)
What do you mean when you saying: init file (or spfile)? Where can I find these files?
Registry entry (NLS_LANG) is correct, but when I'm using web based administration application I can see more NLS settings. Unfortunately I can't change them :(
Using XE version I can't (I'm not sure about that) create another instance, there is only one instance created by installer. Is it possible to change NLS settings in this case?

  • Change step parameters in teststand edit mode

    Hello,
I would like to know if it's possible to change the parameters in a step in edit mode of teststand.
I have attached a sequence with one step, in this step I want to select DMMx.
After the selection I want to teststand to fill in the parameters in the step so I can the choose which type of measurement and such.
If this is not possible how could I make something like this possible.
As you may see this will be a HAL, and the only option I can see which would do this is bij a string array but I don't want to type in the commands in string.

    Hi Darkxceed
My recommendation for doing a HAL i TestStand would be to use an object oriented approach.
Create a class hirachy of your instruments like the following inside of LabVIEW:
Then use Dynamic Dispatch to make TestStand choose the instrument of interest. There is an example of using Dynamic Dispatching in TestStand here:
TestStand Using LabVIEW OOP Truck Example
    https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-24098
This solution will offcourse require you to read up on creating applications using object oriented programming in LabVIEW. We at NI have a course that walks you through both the theory and practical implementation. It is called Object Oriented Programming in LabVIEW. If you have a SSP agreement, you should be able to find it as Self Paced Online Training as a part of your contract.
There is also a good introduction to OOP in LabVIEW and HAL here:
    https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-32506
(There is a video embedded in the PDF)

  • How to Change Database parameters as suggested by EWA report

    Dear Experts,
As per EWA report , i have been asked to change several DB parameters as per note 0124361 . Should i go aghead and change the parameters ? What is the procedure of chaging those parameters? what is the real process that should be followed ? Please revert.Points guaranteed.
    Regards,
    Somya

    Run "brspace -f dbparam"
Select option 1 "Change parameter value" and change the parameters. After changing select option 3 to create a new init.ora.
If you change parameters that have the scope "spfile" oracle requires a restart. If you only change parameters with scope "both" you don't need a restart of oracle. This changes are affected on the fly.
    To restart oracle:
    connect / as sysdba
    SQL> shutdown
    SQL> startup
You don't need to stop SAP if you only change oracle parameters. SAP reconnects automatically if the database is up.
