Changing project window on the fly ? - possible ?

Hi gentlemen,
Quick question,
I created an HD project with dimensions of 1440x180, and have all my overlay logos on 2 different timelines, in the position I want them.
I now have new video, but it's only 720x480, and when I put it on the timeline, of course the video is now too small in the display screen ( as it should be ) however, my question is this,
Is it possible to change-on-the-fly the dimensions of my project so that I can drop them down to the resolution of the new video ? ( 720x480 ) ?
Or am I out of luck here ?
Thanks for your help,
Dave.

Make a new project that is 720x480 and import the HD project into the SD project. The imported project will then be SD and you will keep all the edits that are on that timeline. You will have to Scale to Fit the HD footage the fit the SD frame size.

  • Change user experience on the fly

I was curious is anyone has coded anything to allow a user to change his experience on the fly? In other words...I log and get my assigned experience. I then get a service call from a user who has a different experience (which provides a different navigation, different, etc..). The portal only has 2 experieneces. I would like to be able to have the person receiving the call click a link/button and get the other experience until they click it to change back.
*We can not provide another user account for the support person to log in as or to use the callers account info as this is against current policy.

Interesting concept. I coded up a quick group membership adder yesterday. Created a new group that is in the target experience, set that experience to higher on the list than the standard employ exp. Seems to work well ( though get a 'cant reach remote server' message in dev LOL ) for group addition, need to test whether the exp actually catches. A portlet on the homepages, only visible to employees allows you to toggle.

  • Change video format on the fly in JMF

    Hi!
I am using some suns examples for transfering video/audio rtp streams over network to another computer which recives the stream with jmstudio.
My problem is, that if i want to change the format (for example video-jpeg to video-H263) i have to close the processor, set everything like datasource...like on the begining and send the data. If i try to do this format change on the fly, and if i use my code, a new stream will be created, and a new jmstudio-window opens. But i want to change just the format without seting new stream and let it play in only one player-window.
Is there eny posibility to solve this problem, mayby some code examples on internet (i tryed google, this and other forum...)?
    thanks for help.
    Adam

Thanks. This should solve my player problem.
But how to change a format without closing the processor and without reconnect end configure everything from beginning?
Is there a possibility to change the encoding format on the fly (dynamically)?

  • Change Project Closed in the Test system

A change project was mistakingly closed in the Test system. It is still open in the Production system. We've already asked and the closed chnage project can not be re-opened.
If we order an additional Test System, from the current Production, will the open change project in the production system be copied into the new test system and be open?

This is not an SDK specific problem. Please ask this question in the Reference System Forum.

  • How do you change project settings on Premiere Elements 12?

I have Premiere Elements 12. When I view a DVD I created of wedding photos, the edges of people and objects are jagged and generally the photos appear blurry. On my old Premiere Elements 8, I did not have this problem - the pictures on DVDs were clear and sharp. When checking the project setting on Premiere 8, the project settings for Capture was DV which changed all my settings for General and Rendering project settings. On my new Premiere 12, the Capture setting is HDV and I cannot get the General and Rendering settings to change when I change the Capture setting to DV. The online help from Adobe says to correct this, "In the New Project dialog box, click Change Settings," but when I start a new project in Premiere 12, "Adobe Premiere Element Editor" is the only dialogue box that shows and I cannot see a change setting button. Does anyone know how I can change my project settings so that when I select DV it will change all the presets for the General and Video Rendering settings?

    jacquelinebaker
The party line is that you cannot change project settings once the project settings have been set. You need to start a new project.
Edit Menu/Project Settings/General does not offer the opportunity for any significant project settings change in this type of situation.
I have discovered that, under certain circumstances, that the user can change the established project preset without starting a new project.
The approach to doing this involves editing the Notepad document of the saved closed project file (project.prel file). I have written about this in the following blog post.
    http://www.atr935.blogspot.com/2013/05/pe11-changing-project-settings-without.html
You need to weigh the pros and cons of going through the procedure or just starting a new project and start the project again.
All of the above being said, on to setting to the correct project preset to match the properties of your source media. Please refer to the issues involved and how to set manually the project preset when the program is not doing the job correctly or best automatically.
    http://www.atr935.blogspot.com/2013/04/pe11-accuracy-of-automatic-project.html
To the specifics...if you are doing DV data capture firewire into Premiere Elements 12 Capture Window, the scenario would be...
    a. Open Premiere Elements 12 to the Expert workspace, go to File Menu/New/Project and Change Settings. In Change Settings,
change the project preset to NTSC DV Standard or NTSC DV Widescreen depending on NTSC or PAL set up and 4:3 or 16:9 DV data source. Then before you exit that area, make sure to place a check mark next to "Force Selected Project Setting on This Project" in
the new project dialog. Exit that area and return to the Premiere Elements 12 Expert workspace for your Add Media/DV Capture selection.
If you are doing HDV data capture firewire into Premiere Elements 12 Capture Window, then same scenario except the project preset change involves NTSC HDV HDV 1080i30 (if NTSC). In this instance, the Edit Menu/Project Settings/General should look like
Please review and consider and then let me know if I have targeted you question or need clarification.

  • Premiere Pro CC crash when dragging media from project window

I have had so many problems with CC (2014) since the 8.1 update. The latest problem is interacting with media in the project window. In any version of PP (7, 8.0.1, 8.1), when I attempt to drag media from the project window to the timeline i get the "Premiere Pro CC has encountered a serious error..." crash. I am running a Macbook Pro i7, 16gb of ram, Nvidia GT 750m graphics card, on OSX Yosemite. I have tried clearing the media cache and clearing settings on startup with alt+shift. I have been using 8.0.1 because of previous problems with serious ui lag on 8.1. I have had more problems with PP in the last 3 months, than in the previous 7 years I've used it.

    Hi Huzzahbeard,
Just out of curiosity. How is it that your software is hindered by a plugin in Chrome. I .... I have no words. This solved my problem and thats great except. Push Bullet is the issue! No, what is premiere even doing with my browser that push bullet would cause problems.
I looked at our bug database and there is no real "reason" listed as to why this particular issue occurs (and it does affect a couple of our other non-video applications—InDesign and Illustrator, as well).
A common troubleshooting step for when things go wrong with an application is to remove any recently installed applications or plug-ins. As I understand it, certain applications share resources which can affect each other. Since Chrome extensions are created using Javascript, I assume that is the area of conflict.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

  • [Partially solved] AwesomeWM - Hide borders on the fly

    Hello there!
I'm looking for a way to hide 1px borders from selected ( or all ) windows on the fly, with the keystroke, just like I can hide and show statusbar with alt+b thanks to
    awful.key({ modkey }, "b", function () mywibox[mouse.screen].visible = not mywibox[mouse.screen].visible end),
Is there similar function for borders, or maybe some workaround?
Some win32 games that must run in windowed mode could benefit from it very much, as well as cairo-dock that runs great, except that borders are drawn around its every instance.
    Thanks in advance!

    Ha! Good thinking!
    This worked (wmctrl save lifes!):
    properties = { below = true }},
    { rule = { name = "cairo-dock" },
    properties = { border_width = 0 } },
    { rule = { name = "cairo-dock-sub" },
    properties = { border_width = 0 } },

  • Question on Change Projects

    Hello,
For e.g. a customer has gone live and the first implementation project has been closed.
The customer is now working on Phase 2 enhancements so there is a change project in the tenant.
If the customer faces some issues like code list is missing,
he will not be able to maintain it in because the project is already closed.
So does he has to create another change project to make the fix or how is this suppose to be done?
    Thank you.

    Angela Sparkman wrote:
You would create a 2nd change project in the production tenant.  You just need to be careful that you are not making changes to the same fine-tuning activity in both change projects, which will cause some inconsistencies.
    Hello,
What would be the best practice for managing two change projects (1 for Phase 2 dev and 1 for hot fix) in an environment that has a test and production tenant?
E.g. I have already 1 change project (for Phase 2) in test tenant.
Should the change project (hot fix) be created in production or the change project (hot fix) should be created in the test tenant resulting into two change projects (one for Phase 2 and one for hot fix) in the test tenant?

  • No Check Project  Window

I've got a project that cannot be checked. Every time that I click on the check project button the check project window never appears. When I go to build DVD, a message appears saying that the project has errors but I cannot figure out what the errors are without the check project window. I have tried checking the project on more than one computer and both have the same issue with this project but not others.
How do I get the check project window to appear again?

jbowden, thanks for your post. I tried the Shift+CTRL and this did not work. What is that action supposed to do?
I tried opening up the project on a 3rd computer and I was able to get things working. Here is the issue. I must have started the project that this project was copied from on the "3rd PC". This PC has three monitors associated with it. The others only have two monitors. All of the other windows show up, except for the check project window on the 2 monitor PC's. Starting a new project on a 2 monitor PC works OK too. But the project that originated on the 3 monitor PC does not work on the 2 monitor PC. I've tried going to the default workspace on the 2 monitor PC and that does not help either.
With AE and PP and PS CS2, I go back and forth between 2 and three monitor PC's with the same projects all of the time and these applications are smart enough to know how to position the windows, especially the new "panel" based applications, except Encore.
I have not tried deleted the prefs yet to see if this fixes it. But I am afraid that even if it does that this is going to bite me again when I go from one PC to another.

  • Items in the Project window have changed?

    Hi,
I have been working for a few hours now.
In the Project window there has been an icon of my HDD called "Macbook" sitting at the top of the list. I've been placing folders and individual projects under this HDD. I'm guessing the HDD icon represents the top level.
I then placed all of my projects into folders. For some reason the HDD icon has disappeared and I can't get it back. The reason this is a problem is that I now can't place a new project at the top level (ie: under the HDD), I have to place it in one of the folders. I can't even grab a project that's in one of the folders and drag it out of that folder.
    Anyone have any ideas?

I then placed all of my projects into folders
Did you do this within iMovie? The usual method is to choose File>New Folder from iMovie's menu. If you've created the folders outside of iMovie, that could be causing the problem.
Try deleting iMovie's preference file. Close iMovie first, then navigate to your user folder Library>Preferences and trash the file named "com.apple.iMovie8.plist". When next opened, iMovie will create a new file with the default settings. You may need to change some settings to suit your own preference (iMovie menu - iMovie>Preferences).

  • Page Design layout changing on the fly: tighter control possible?

I'm layout out a Photo Book in iPhoto. I've chosen the theme (Picture Book), number of photos (in this case 6), and page design (no text at the bottom). The book displays gray boxes where the photos are to be placed. I understand what's going on up to this point. Now, for the odd part: I place a photo in a box (a portrait photo in a portrait-shaped box), and the photo layout on the page changes. (It's still 6 photos, but the gray boxes have changed orientation). I understand it's trying to accommodate what it thinks will be the best layout based on the photo I've added. The layout it's chosen isn't available in the Page Design pull down menu, nor did it need to change the layout based on the photo I've added (a portrait photo into a portrait slot shouldn't require changes). Question 1: I'd like to see ALL the possible designs for 6 photos on a page. Is there any way to make them all visible? Question 2: is there any way to prevent iPhoto from changing the photo layout distribution automatically when a photo is dropped on the page? Essentially I want tighter control over my layout.

    Hi Tobi,
    Welcome!
I must admit I have found this a bit annoying at times too, although I think it has only happened to me when I have dropped in a landscape image into a portrait box, or vice versa. A way around it that sometimes worked, was to first drop into a different box a correctly proportioned image that wouldn't necessarily be part of your final layout, and then drop in the other correct images into their correct places, and then replace the first unwanted image with the one you do want. Does that make sense
I don't think all of the different possible designs for a multi-photo page is something that could be viewed at the start, because, until all the pics are dropped in, the layout can't be decided.
I guess we need to remember that iPhoto tries to be as simple as possible for ease of use across a range of abilities, and we if really want tighter control, we should be creating our own montages in image manipulation software such as Photoshop, as I did for a recent book.
I hope that helps in some way, until somebody more knowledgeable comes along!

  • Please create "on-the-fly change search engine" option ALSO for when we mark [word] in a text, then right-click, then choose "Search [engine x] for [word]"?

In Firefox 34, you have changed the search bar.
The new style is perfect for those who always starts by typing in, letter for letter, the search term.
People such as myself, we almost never type in the search term,
but instead we mark a [word] in a text, right-click this marked [word], then select "Search [engine x] for [word]".
Speaking for myself, I have now a total of 36 search engine providers, but I usually only use 7 of those.
I use "Wikipedia (English)" most of the time..
    - but then I will switch to e.g. "AniDB" and use that one for 1 hour..
    - or switch to "Google" and use that one for 30 minutes..
    - or switch to "Wikipedia (Norwegian)" and use that one for 2 hours..
    - or switch to "Wiktionary (English)" and use that one for 15 minutes..
..and then I will switch back to "Wikipedia (English)" again.
The way the search bar was in Firefox 33 and earlier, I could very easily switch the default search engine.
Just one click to open the drop-down menu, then choose one.
In Firefox 34, I have to choose "Tools" -> "Options", the "Search" tab..
    - before I can THEN click to open the drop-down menu.
4 clicks instead of 1, that's like 400% more work..!
Also, the fact that I have to go into "Options".. make this..
..I don't know how to put it, it's a kind of psychological barrier that I have to overcome each time.
I mean, before Firefox 34, I went to the "Options" window like maybe 4 times each YEAR,
now, I have to go there 4 times each DAY..!
I am not saying you should revert to the old style Search bar,
as I feel that those you are typing search terms are indeed very happy for this new style..
Instead, I think of 2 possible ways to create happiness also for us that do mark text and choose "Search.."
    1) An "on-the-fly change search engine" option ALSO for when we mark [word] in a text, then right-click, then choose "Search [engine x] for [word]".
This could work as a cascading menu option, where it says..
Search for [word] in -> [engine x]
..and where [engine x] was the current default engine, and all the other engines was listed underneath,
just like the drop-down menu when you switch the default engine.
Additionally, you could have an on / off checkbox in the "Options" "Search" tab, where you had this option:
"Change default search engine when choosing another from the drop-down menu"
THIS would actually be PERFECT.. It would be even much BETTER than in Firefox 33 and earlier..! :-)
    2) If there are things with the first option that don't work (something I've missed etc),
then maybe you could have an on / off checkbox in the "Options" "Search" tab, where you had this option:
    "Use old-style search bar"
This would be off by default, but when switched on, it would give us the old Firefox 33 style Search bar.

Strongly recommend Context Search extension which will solve your problem

  • How do you change image size in the title window?

I just changed operating systems to Windows 7, which meant that I had to re install Premiere Pro CS4. I am now working on a 64 bit system. Might not make any difference, but thought I would give you the specifics just in case.  When I pull up the title window to add a title to my clip, the image is about the size of a postage stamp. How do I increase the size of the image in that window?

Thank you again for responding Hunt. I did find out what what was happening.
I had to reinstall the program on my computer. I just upgraded to Windows 7, and I now have a 64 bit system. When I booted up PPCS4, I assumed that my settings would be the same as they were before when I had Vista installed and didn't bother to check them when I started a new project. Well, they were not. I also added a TV tuner card to my computer. I now can watch HD TV on my computer. I suppose that it is possible that somehow PPCS4 noticed that, and set my default settings to HD, rather than NTSC DV. I just merrily went along clicking the OK button and started editing. When I start a new project now, I select NTSC DV and the Title window works just fine, and exactly the way I expect it to.
I just received Jeff Bellune's book Adobe Encore DVD 2.0 in the mail and will be totally immersed in Encore studies today. With all of his children, I don't see how he had time to write it, but I'm glad that he did. I also ordered a book entitled Designing Menus with Encore DVD. I know that it was written for an earlier version than CS4, but I will trust what you said about that. Many things are the same with some minor variations due to upgrades in the program. The basic ideas don't change, but how you accomplish them can, and usually do over time.

Subject: how do you change image size in the title window?
    Welcome to the forum.
That is an odd one. The Title should be the same Frame Size as your Project/Sequence. What is it's Frame Size? Also, are you perhaps doing a Title based on an older Template, that was done for a different Frame Size?
What happens if you choose Title>New Title>Default Still?
    Good luck,
