Changing Properties At runtime

Hi SDN's,
I m having a Veiwset(Grid) like
VIEW1
VIEW2
View1 is having one dropdown list(say selecting Country), view2 is having custid, custname input fields.
while executing program, i hav to select sme country frm view1,
so the cust-id in the view2 should start with country key and view1 should be in read-only mode.
can u give me sme idea.
thanks in advance

hi Renu,
This means that event raised in view1 should affect action in view 2.
Lets say your DDK(dropdownkey) in view1 is DDK1 and ip2 is input field from view2,
Now there are two ways to get what you want,
1: if the context attribute, which you have mapped to DDK1 is in component then map that to view2 too, here, in OnSelect action of DDK1 when the view1 navigates to view2, that attributes value can be read and then corresponding action can be performed . This action is nothing but defining proper customer id in view2.
2:
a)define a method in component controller,
b)declare an event too , in component controller
c)goto View1, in properties tab , under Required controller , define use of component controller(if it is not there) where you have defined a method and an event.
d)goto view2, define an event handler here, in its "Event Source" give name of your component controller and in "Subscribe event" give the name of event defined in component contr.(define use of controller here too, in properties tab)
e)in OnSelect action of DDK1(defien one action for this and assign it to OnSelect property), call the method defined in component contr as,
wdThis.wd<component>Controller().<method name>();
in this method of component contr write code,
wdThis.wdFireEvent<event defined in component contr>();
Since this event is subscribed in view2, this event handler will get called, in that event handler write your code of setting customer id for view2 depending upon the country of view1
2nd one is little difficult approach, 1st one is simple but there you need to map the context attribute though it is not used in view2(just to read its value for further proccessing)
hope it helps
let me know if you face any problem in this

• Changing properties in realtime

Can this be done?
I have a numerical control and a for loop. I would like to modify the propertis of the num control so that it increments as much as the counter terminal , i.e the num control is a multiple of the counter. The user might run the for loop x times ones and another time y times. Can num control be modified that it is a multiple of any value?
Thanks.
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Yes you can change these properties at runtime (realtime is something different).
Right click on the terminal of the control, select Create->Property->Data Entry Limits -> Increment.
Good luck.

Hello,
that is a VMM issue.
If you did not deploy your virtual cluster from a VMM service template, VMM doesn't recognize the configuration.
Until MS got it fixed, you could use the workaround from system center central:

Anyway, thanks for any help you guys give me!
Cheers

Hi!
Your problem is that you've used a widening conversion to convert from PaintOff to a JPanel. JPanel has no such method, and so the compiler is complaining that it can't find it.
e.g
public class NoCompile{
public static void main(String args[]){
One one = new Two();
one.methTwo();
public class Two extends One{
public Two(){}
public void methTwo(){
System.out.println("Executed 2");
public class One{
public One(){}
public void meth1(){}
} will give you the same sort of error message. To make the compiler happy, use a cast.
Now this will compile and gives the right result.
public class NoCompile{
public static void main(String args[]){
One one = new Two();
((Two)one).methTwo();
}So in your case, you want to do
((PaintOff)hour11).vOn();
Does that help?

• Changing picture at runtime using delphi

Post Author: iman_400

Please help me, is there anyway we can change picture at runtime using delphi 7.0 and CRXIR2?

Hi, Lee;
For the version of Crystal Reports that comes with .NET, you can use something like one of our samples shows:
https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006252822008E/net_win_smpl.exe
Look for the sample, vbnet_win_DynamicImage.zip. It uses an ADO.NET dataset to change the image.
For Crystal Reports XI R2 and Crystal Reports 2008, you can more directly change the image location using built in functionality.
In the Designer, choose Insert > Picture. Choose a default image to show and save it. Right-click on it and select Format Graphic. Go to the Picture tab and click the formula button for Graphic location. Save the report.
Then, at runtime you can populate the Formula with the new location for your image, either a URL or disk file location.
See the following note for more information:

• Change to the runtime the logon language with ABAP

Hello,
I have a question.
Is it possible to change to the runtime the logon language?
With the URL-parameter example it worked.
http://www.****bsp/sap/z_page/default.htm?sap-language=en
But I need this in the event handler with ABAP coding.
thanks Eren

you can either use
CL_HTTP_UTILITY->IF_HTTP_UTILITY~SET_REQUEST_URI
uri = sap-language=FR
or
CL_HTTP_REQUEST->IF_HTTP_ENTITY~SET_FORM_FIELD

value = FR
or
use
SET LOCALE LANGUAGE 'S'. within your abap coding

Modified Paths:
blazeds/branches/3.0.x/qa/apps/qa-manual/ajax/messaging/TextMessageRuntimeDest.html

Many ways to do this. The easiest is to have a method in one of your classes that reads the data from the database and creates all the proper structure under a RootNode and then returns that RootNode.
Whenever you want to refresh the tree, just call that method to recreate the root node (and all the underlying structure/nodes) and then re-set the root node of your tree model using the setRoot() method. That will cause it to refresh the display given the new root node.
Once you have that working, you can get fancier and make it more efficient (only updating/firing events for the nodes that actually changed, etc).

I need to display table as per drondown index item selection. Means i have to change table data runtime when dropdown item is changed.Please help me in that .Please provide code for same.

Hello gurprit Bhatia,
On the view create a new action. Fill only the Name and Text and leave the other items default.
In this event you can populate the table fields.
Bound this newly created action (event) to the onSelect property of the 'DropDownByIndex'.

• URGENT***How to chance ADF bean properties at runtime?

Hi Friends,
Please help me to get some sample java code to create the ADF UI bean object at runtime.
As per my requirement in my ADF screen (.jspx) I got 3 input text fields, where last fields 2 are disabled while loading the page. When I enter some value in the first textbox and tab out , the second one should be automatically enabled without any button click. Please help me how to achieve the same. How can I set my UI bean properties at runtime (Please share the code to get the UI object)? And how can I able to handle / know where the first text box has value or not.
This is very urgent requirement. Please help me .
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for helping me. But so far no luck with the 3rd row enabled. Below is my code. As per my real requirement each row should have 2 columns. (col 1: choice box and col2: free textbox).
Can able to make enable the 2nd row's columns. But the last row not getting enabled. Seems the 2nd row textbox (password) value not getting populated in the managed bean. When I print the value it is showing null. (But if I totally remove the first row and enable the 2nd row then test the same. In this case 3rd row getting enabled.). So worried that after enable the 2rd row by EL, it is not passing the entered value to bean it seems.

• How to change properties for some controls in runtime ?

hi,
I would like to change some of the properties for some controls in front panel in runtime. Number of control properties I want to change is depending of a log file user opens in final application.
I attach an example where I'm trying to change the visibility of numeric controls. Problem I have I don't know which reference to connect to property node in case the control in for loop is not a numeric control. The example relies to label.text property but I could use the more generic classname property as well.

I think this should probably be changed in future versions, because even if each control had a caption, it would still be a negligible small part of the VI. The current behavior made sense many years ago where HD and memory space was very precious. Not any more!
This issue comes up often enough that it warrants addressing the root of the problem.
It is hard to convince the casual that the caption does not exist if he can simply do a "show caption" at edit time and it will show in all glory, even with the default set to the current label. It is confusing!
There is even an idea about this that seems worth supporting (also read the link in the discussion).

• Change properties of UI Elements during runtime in Web Dynpro ABAP

hey ,

If you want to change connections, you first have to logout. Besides the logon_screen builtin does not change the connection, but it only sets several application properties.
In the Forms Help there is an example how to use the logon_screen. It basically comes to the next pl/sql code:
declare
MyUsername VARCHAR2(40);
MyPassword VARCHAR2(40);
MyConnect VARCHAR2(40);
begin
logon_screen;
MyUsername := Get_Application_Property(USERNAME);
MyPassword := Get_Application_Property(PASSWORD);
MyConnect := Get_Application_Property(CONNECT_STRING);
logout;
if MyConnect is not null then
logon(MyUsername,MyPassword| |'@'| |MyConnect);
else
logon(MyUsername,MyPassword);

file how can I reach them (no problem with a file

I would try to use the I/O APIs that reads the macro file

Of course you would need a local location where to store it, could

• Sensors - Configuring JMS queue properties at runtime through console

Kindly guide me with configuring of the JMS queue name at runtime for a JMS sensor configured on an activity in Jdeveloper's BPEL process. I have created a JMS sensor but i want to change the queue name at runtime without rebuilding i.e if possible through console. Does oracle 10g SOA suite gives ant such facility where by we can configure sensor related properties from console ??
NOTE: i m creating NON-BAM JMS and custom sensors

Hi,
This is not supported at the moment but planned to be added soon.
So right now, you have to redeploy the process in case of a sensor/
sensor action modification.

• Is it advisable to change mappings at runtime?

We are trying to debug an issue with batch reading (more on that later)
We can not yet reproduce the problem in test. So we would like to adjust mappings to turn on batch reading at runtime. Then turn them off again of the problem persists.
So, is it advisable to change the mappings at runtime?
Thanks
Bob

It is generally not advisable in a running system. However for testing it is fine, as long as you ensure it is just a test environment and no concurrent threads are using the same mappings. Note that the mappings will already be initialized; so changing some properties may require reinitializing others.
