Changing RGB Colours

I use Photoshop 6.
Could any one help me with a little problem? I have a quality photo of a cone of thread which I would like to change the thread colour to match a selection of colours with RGB references.
Basically I have a list of RGB shade values for different thread colours. I would like to take my photo and re-create the colours on this image instead of having a plain square showing the true colours with out texture. Is there any easy way!
PS I known how to isolate the thread, Im just not sure the correct way of changing the colour by typing in RGB values.

Hey Sue,
You can create any color by the R,G,B values by simply putting the values in the corresponding fields in any "Select Color" dialog box.
Cheers.

  • Can i change imported RGB colours to specified CMYK colours quickly in Indesign rather than doing ea

Can i change imported RGB colours from a word doc to specified CMYK (already in the swatch panel) colours quickly in Indesign rather than doing each one manually?
Is there a script so you can allocate rgb colours to cmyk colours?

oh yeah, I see... You definitely need a script, so you better post this request in script forum. Since it quite scriptable (I believe), you need to know exactly (tell to the script) what colors to find and change to what. So it would work only on the specific pre-defined list of colors. I'm using something very similar regarding the fonts (I get regularly files where I need to change bunch of fonts to their alternatives). Not sure if it's possible to modify it for colors - I see some essential differences here. I'm not a scripter...

  • Change the colour of the outer line of a circle

    Hello everyone,
I drew up a circle with no fill inside, to show where the location of my highway storm culvert will be.
I changed the thickness of the outer line of my circle shape by creating a stroke effect at layer → blending options → stroke; then I changed the thickness of the line by right clicking in stroke at the layers panel and then choosing "scale effect."
But the problem I have is that the outer line is gray, and I want it to be black.
The outer line was originally red though so I changed my image → mode to grayscale, because I couldn't find a way to change the colour while keeping my image in RGB colour.  So I've managed to make the outer line gray by changing the image mode but I still can't change the colour of the outer line to black.
I'm sure there must be other ways of changing the outer line colour without having to change the image mode, but I'm clueless.
    Here is my drawing:
The text next to the circle says «Obra de desagüe». That's spanish for "drainage construction site."
You see, I can't change the colour because I have no clue at where the "change colour option" is. I tried going to layer → layer properties, but in there there's only 7 colours to choose from. I chose a random colour, just to see what happens and what truly changed colour was the layer, within the layers panel; not the shape contained within the layer.
So I'm lost here, any help please?
Unfortunately I'm still not an expert in Photoshop just yet.
Thank you for reading my post.

Set shape layer opacity 100% Fill 0% to make fill transparent or add an empty layer make a circular selection stroke it black.

  • I would like to change the colour of bars in a chart without losing the underlying default texture associated with my chosen theme. None of the 3D textured fills offered in "Chart Colors" match the textured fill of the theme. Any suggestions?

I would like to change the colour of bars in a chart without losing the underlying default texture associated with my chosen theme. None of the 3D textured fills offered in "Chart Colors" match the textured fill of the theme. Any suggestions?

Thanks Gary, but no, that does not work. First of all, I can't select each bar individually. When I click on one bar, all three bars are selected.
When I use "inspector > graphic" I have 5 fill options: none, color, gradient, image, tinted image. The default selection for the theme I'm using is image. What I would like to use for my charts is the same image that this theme uses for table headers. It has the same texture as the chart, but a different colour. Using anything but image or tinted image removes the texture from the fill.
I have found I can do one of two things. I can select tinted image from the fill selections in "inspector > graphic" or I can select 2D Image Fills from "inspector > chart > chart colors". The first choice does not allow me to match the table header colour because it only allows me to apply a tint to the existing colour and adjust its opacity. The existing colour has too much influence on the fill, so I can't find an RGB adjustment that will match the table header colour. The image selections from "inspector > chart > chart colors" do not quite match the colour or the texture. Again, I can try to tint the image, but I still can't get it to match and the texture is not the same anyway.
The image I want to use obviously exists in the software as it is an attribute of the theme, but for some reason is inaccessible. The other angle I have tried is to edit the theme, but I can't figure out how to do that either.

  • Possible To Change The Colour Of A Theme Template For A Book - Aperture

    Hi
I am using Aperture 3 and would like to make a photo book for a recent trip, combined with including the text of a blog I wrote during the journey.
I like the journal theme that now exists in Aperture theme layouts, but I'd like to change the "bark" colour to a specific yellow that was used for all of the promo literature for the event. Is it possible at all, or am I limited to the few colours on the dropdown list?
If it isnt possible, do you have any other ideas about how else I could achieve this? I have looked at some of the plug ins available and can only see a few that are either too "upmarket" for the job at hand, or also dont allow to change the background to a specific rgb colour.
    Any ideas anyone?
    Thanks!
    Andy

There may be a much easier way to do this.
The color information is stored in separate plists for the large and extra-large books. The plist files are at, for example:
    +/Applications/Aperture.app/Contents/Resources/Book Themes/Photo Journal/Extra Large/Backgrounds+
You can edit the plist to show whatever color you want.

  • RGB colour output format via HDMI/DP

    Hey Guys,
So i just bought a Dell u2410 screen the other day, and decided to hook it up via HDMI, It's being used for photo-editing, I tried to calibrate it, but in the sRGB mode i need to use the colours come out terrible, Reds are orange, etc. The screen itself, and it's settings arn't the problem. The problem is the Colour output of the MacBook, over HDMI and DisplayPort I've found it outputs the old YPbPr colour format, which for me is useless. if i connect it via VGA it'll output proper RGB colour format, but VGA is pretty crappy, and i ideally need to use a Digital output, I've searched all over the net for a solution, but haven't found one. one thing i did find is it will supposedly output RGB over DVI, but alas i don't have a DVI cable and do not wish to have to buy one...
so what i want to know, is it possible to change the output colour format for HDMI and DisplayPort to RGB instead of YPbPr?
Note 1: If i boot into Win7 via BootCamp it outputs RGB and has the option for YPbPr...
Note 2: It isn't the ICC colour profile that's the problem.

Thanks for the link to the Dell discussion forum.
Reading that thread and half a dozen others on the Apple forum is really a sad day for me, having owned every single iphone, ipad, Mac mini, MacBook Pro that Apple has put out, the latest Retina MBP has completely disappointed me. It seems neither Dell nor Apple care about the users who need the correct color space for digital photography.
I bought the latest and greatest MacBook Pro this year and it doesn't connect to an external monitor in the correct color space for me to do digital photography? This is really a sad situation. Will be returning it as soon as I migrate the data out.
I would gladly buy an Apple Thunderbolt display, but just can't stand its glare, not to mention it's limited resolution @2560x1200 which is smaller than the 30" @2560x1600.

  • Why do RGB colour references look different on screen in Illustrator and Adobe Muse?

Prior to a December upgrade to CC versions of Illustrator and Photoshop and an upgrade to Muse, RGB colours looked consistent in all 3. Now they do not and I don't understand why there has been this change. I cannot see a way of pulling them all into line. I always synchronise colours via Bridge.

For colors on the web it is best to use web safe colors. Non-websafe colors can and will give different looks in different browsers and file types.

  • Automatically convert images to RGB Colour Profile when opened in Photoshop...

    Hi there,
I have just moved over to Photoshop CS6 from Elements 10. One thing I can't work out how to do is to have PS automatically convert opened files to RGB, exactly like PSE does. Is this possible?
    Many Thanks

Basically the only way to convert them is by manually changing the colour profile?
    To my knowledge, yes.
I'm sure you can write a script that will do that automatically, but I don't script. You can post in the PS scripting forum. Bright and helpful people there. I'm sure someone there can set you up and walk you through how to install "a convert CMYK to working RGB upon open" script.

  • Problem with tonal range output in RGB Colour Corrector

    Hi
I'm trying to output just the tonal range in RGB Colour Corrector but when I choose it nothing changes in the program window. I have three options: Composite / Luma / Tonal Range. The first two work fine but clicking on the third makes no change at all. If anyone can make a suggestion I would be most appreciative.

  • Adding pic w/ transparency changes bg colour

    Hi,
I'm working on an InDesign (CS4) document. It's a flyer with text, coloured background boxes made with the Rectangle Tool and a logo with transparency. The problem is that the adding of the logo with transparent parts seems to change the colour of the boxes on the background. Everything looks fine on screen and on pdf but when I print the file it looks like there's a thin foil everywhere else than the logo's transparent parts - in fact only there the background colour looks closer to the right one, elsewhere it's more grayish. I have one of these "boxes" just under the logo and on print you can see the difference between the colours: it's clearly brighter where the transparency is.
I read somewhere that this is a well-known problem and I found some tips but they didn't work. I have checked colour settings, I tried printing with everything in RGB and then everything in CMYK (we have a laser printer), Transparency Blend Space.. The logo is in PSD format but I also tried with TIFF and PNG. I really don't know what to do with this but I'd really want to learn. I know I could just make the boxes as ordinary jpg pictures eg in Photoshop but I'm sure there's a way to make the transparency work. And so that I'll be able to see that everything is really okay before I click print - it's really frustrating that the problem doesn't show on screen.
Please, could somebody give me some advice?
PS I'm sorry for my poor skills in explaining the problem in English - I found it difficult to do it in my mother tongue too.

  • Can i change the colour of my scrolling texts from FCPX

i have a scrolling texts created at the end of my video clips in FCPX.
in this credit scrolling texts, i want to show the names of singers and their songs.
I also want to display them in different colour.
    SINGERS          white colour
    SONGS             red
i highlight the songs' names and changed to red
but what happen in FCP is all the texts after the one i highlighted become red.
just wonder if i want to do such thing.
    Do I need Motion5?
Also FCPX seems not able to let me enter any RGB vales.
Can Motion let me do that?
    Thanks.

    hI gfxzen,
    i finally did it.
i needed to double click my title texts in VIEWER to change colour to particular texts.
this's a good new to me.
i know this's not a FCP forum, i posted a question there and post the same question here. I thought maybe i can only do this in Motion.
now i know i can do it. It seems to me I can only do it if i double click my title texts in VIEWER.
i'm still not able to do what i want in TEXT inspector. i can change the colour but this always ends up changing colour for all the texts.
if you don't mind, i have few more questions:
after i double click the text in the VIEWER, a bounding box appears. i can do anything within the text box.
how can i get rid of the bounding box after i've done my edit. i always click on the inspector button to close off anything.
now i can change the colour, can FCPX let me enter any RBG valves.
I can pick a colour in the colour panel, it seems i can't enter any particular vales i want.
don't know if you know the answer or not.
if you do, can you let me know? thanks.

  • Changing background colour with hex code?

Hi, i want to change the background colour of my documents. So far i can only find 1 way of doing it by going file > document setup then chaning the colour under transparency. I have two problems with this though. First, it seems to only change the colour in illustrator and not the actual image when saved/printed etc. And secondly i need to change the colour to a specific hex colour and i'm at a loss of how to do this.
I have done a little searching on this but so far i seem to be failing at finding the answer. Anyone help?

    E'ss,
First, it seems to only change the colour in illustrator and not the actual image when saved/printed etc.
That is because it is only something like a simulation of coloured paper, so you can see what it looks like when printed on such paper. In other words, it is not part of the artwork and therefore not transferred.
And secondly i need to change the colour to a specific hex colour and i'm at a loss of how to do this.
When you set the colour, one option is RGB which is an equivalent to the hex colour. To find the right RGB combination without having to remember/calculate it, you may do as follows:
    1) Create a rectangle (or whatever);
    2) In the Color palette/panel flyout choose Web Safe RGB and insert the desired hex colour (the first two characters as R, the next two as G, and the last two as B);
    3) Switch to (normal) RGB and read the values to use.

  • Change the colour of events in iCal

I need to change the colour of events/appointments in the Mac iCal.  I have imported all of my Outlook calendar via google sync and all my appointments are now just one colour.  I have my medical appointments coloured in orange so they stand out each week (I have many) and all my personal events a different colour, and my volunteer work a different colour so that I can see at a glance in week view what I am up to. Looking at one week with every appointment in one drab colour is not nice.
I notice that different calendars are different colours, but I dont want separate calendars as I need to sync with google to share the calendar with Android phone and iPad.
Please can you let me know how to turn this feature on.  Many thanks.

Click calendars at the bottom of the page the click on the i symbol for info and then you can select the colour you'd like.

  • Best way to draw an asset if I want to change the colour of it?

If I draw something manually, can I still change the colour by actionscript?
I want to draw a cat, and the cat colour depends on the the user choice in the previous 'screen'.  How should I go about this?
    Thanks.

Yes, there are a couple ways. You can use the ColorTransform class. Or you can use one of the Tweening engines - it's really easy to tint objects using TweenLite. You can even test in the demo at http://blog.greensock.com/tweenlite/
Scroll down a bit to the demo... pick a color in the tint box and hit Tween.

  • How to make this image compatible as a laser cut file by changing stroke colour?

My final aim with this image is to make it compatible as a laser cut raster engrave design, so the laser cutter will fill the black areas or white (either would be fine). If this is not possible then even as a laser cut outline would be suitable
This is how the image will look when in Illustrator. however when I use the preview screen (ctrl+y) it creates an outline. This is how the laser cutter will read the image which is why it is very important the preview image is is what i would expect the final outcome to be.
As a raster the laser cutter requires the stroke line to be blue r:0 g:0 B:255. Currently I cannot edit the colour, yet I can change the stroke weight. Also how I would I fill the engraved areas as a stroke? At the moment when I try converting the stroke to blue it turns grey.
I am also unsure as to how I would make this feasible even to be cut out when I cannot change the stroke colour to red. This is required for laser cut designs as the laser cutter reads red lines to be cut.
I can usually change stroke colours easily so I assume this is due to the fact that I have brought this file through from Photoshop so it is not yet fullu editable. I have used the live trace and live paint function in illustrator so far.
    Any help would be appreciated

You need to expand the artwork and convert the strokes to genuine outlines to in turn be able to apply anotehr thin stroke to them again...
