Changing router channel

I would like to change the channel my router is on. - Since I had FIOS installed I can no longer open my garage door (dont laugh). During the day when my FIOS goes out (daily) I can open and shut the garage. Hince..would like to change channel on router. Using IP address I (ending in 1.1) I can get to signon screen. I use
' admin' and 'password' but this information is incorrect - what is the sign on to access the router for the first time?

This is driving me nuts. We have a linksys BEFW11S4 B Router and WUSB11 Adapter. Router is upstairs and PC with USB adapter is downstairs. On average about once a week I have to go into the Router through IE and change Adapter channel to get internet back up & running on Usb Adapter computer. Both PC's have XP running and no problems when it is up & running. I have Called Linksys on several accasions to no solution or course of action. I have spoken to my ISP and they refer me back to Linksys. My Signal strength is usually Excellent. Upstairs PC is on all the time with down stairs fired up in evenings. Total distance between units is aprox 25 ft wooden floor and 1 giprock wall.

hi....if changing the channel is not enough....you will have to make a few changes under the "advanced wireless settings" .....go to the wireless section of the router and then to advanced wireless settings .....reduce the beacon interval to 50 and reduce the RTS and fragementation threshold by 40 each......also change one antenna position to "horizontal" and then observe the network.

I changed the channel on my Belkin Wireless router now my ipod touch 1G can't find my wifi network?

A few hours ago I changed the channel on my Belkin Wireless router for the 1st time. It was either on auto, or channel 6 before, i'm not sure, but I changed it to 11, and now my ipod touch 1G can't find my wifi network. I tried changing it to 6, but nothing, and I also can't go back to auto. Can someone please help. I've already searched for the network, and it says "Cant find network". I've also restarted my router. I also added the MAC address, still nothing. Other than those things, I havent touched anything else. My ipod could connect before just find. My Wifi is not disabled, and it's not on private. I can connect with other wifi's fine. And I can connect to other networks with my ipod, I also held down the button on top, and the home button for 10 seconds to restart and nothing. I also reset my network settings. Please help!

Find the documentation for your router and look up "Reset to Factory Defaults." This process will put the router back to the way it was when you bought it.

Open Airport tuility on your comtpuer
where to find it > : Applications folder > utilities > airport utility
Clicked the apple router > click the edit button
Clicke the wirless tab at the top and choose wirless options at the bottom
Clicke dthe sutomatic beside 2.4 GHZ and change it to the channel you want it.
Channels 3/4/5/7/8/9 are usually pretty open.
If you not sure what channels are on what network you can review the other networks and your own in system proflier for your comptuer.
once you choose the channel click save and then update at the bottom right.

when you type in 192.168.1.1 in the address bar of the IE..It will Be Prompting you for a Username and Passwd.Try Only The Passwd As admin. . .
If You changed the passwd of the router the first time when you were trying to set the router with the cd and in case if you have changed the password at that time then type in that password in the passwd field. . .
Then After you login into the Linksys Setup Page,
Goto Wireless and try changing the Channel Of The Router. . .

Changing Wireless Channel on CISCO Router

How do I change the wireless channel on a CISCO 1811W (MPC8500) router? Currently it is channel 10 and I prefer to change it to channel 1 to reduce interference with microwave oven. I have already replaced the standard antenna with 7dBi high gain antenna.
Out of 12 wireless clients about 3 are being dropped whenever microwave oven is turned on. These clients have Linksys WMP54G Wireless G PCI adapters. Other client computers are notebooks with builtin wireless adapters and desktops with Belkin, TRENDnet, or Motorola Wireless PCI or USB adapters.
All computers are within about 60'-80' radius from the CISCO wireless router and are about 20' away from the microwave oven. Any suggestions?

I tried in SDM and could not find a way to change radio channel.
How do I invoke command line interface (CLI)? I found the following from Cisco Wireless ISR and HWIC Access Point Configuration Guide.
Configuring Radio Channel Settings
Step 1          configure terminal                     - enter global configuration mode
Step 2          interface dot11radio 0                   - enter interface configuration mode for the radio interface. The 2.4 GHz radio is radio 0, and 5 GHz is 1.
Step 3           channel frequency | least-congested - set the default channel for the wireless radio - Channel 1 2412 MHz, Ch 2 2417, Ch 3 2422, etc.
                                                                      - To search for the least-congested channel on startup, enter least-congested
Step 4          end                                        - return to privileged EXEC mode
Step 5          copy running-config startup-config          -(optional) save your entries in the configuration file.
I need help to enter into the privileged EXEC mode. Once I type https://10.10.10.1 (router IP) I get a login screen (Level_15 or view access). Once I enter User Id and Password I get Cisco Router and Security Device Manager (SDM) that has Home, Configure, and Monitor tabs.
Configure - Interfaces & Connections - Edit Interfaces & Connections - DOT11Radio0 shows status as Up; but does not allow me to change anything. Neither channel nor frequency is displayed.
So I not sure how to use SDM to change the default channel.
I will appreciate any help in this regard.

Hold down the option key on your Mac while you click on the fan shaped AirPort icon at the top of the screen.
If you want to manually set the channel on an Apple router, you would use AirtPort Utility for this.

If you have one computer running on G they will all run on G. All ROUTERS are backward compatible, in otherwords if you have a group of computers and all of them are N compatible and one or two are G They will all work but the N computers will run at N and those that are G will run at G speed not N.
It can get confusing but really it is simple. The newest is 802.11 AC and ic used with the newest Mac Computers made available in November 2013. So if you have the newest Airport Extreme that is 802.11ac and the newest computers that are AC compliant your speed will be 5 times faster than anything on the market right now.

For the Netgear Router you usually go to 192.168.1.1 on any web browser.
This will bring up the router's admin utility wich should require a User name (Netgear usually uses the 'admin' has a user name ) then a password to access. If you have not used this feature before then the password should be the default (can't remember now) as per your manual for the Netgear device. You should change that has soon has you can.

TV goes black when i change the channel?

On my Toshiba LCD TV quite frequently (at least once a night) the screen will go black when I change the channel (via cable box) or if I change the input. I then have to turn the TV off then back on to get the picture back.

I have the same problem and it is frustrating. I called the cable company who told me to unplug everything from the wall for 1 minute and the plugit back in. "Duh" Unfortunately I had to do this every few hours. I called them back an they performed a reset from their end. It has worked fine ever since.

How to change routing in customisaiton file?

Hi All,
I have single configuration project with number of proxy, biz, local and ftp services. I am using ANT and WLST scripts to export and import this project into different environments.
The import customisation file has number of tokens for endpoint URI which are replaced during import process for target environment - reads properties file for endpoint uri values. Yes, the customisation file is huge and difficult to maintain should someone adds new services. But this process is working for us though.
Now the problem is i have been asked that service routing information during import process should also be tokenised etc i.e. we could change routing to a local service instead or jms or vice versa etc, instead of using dynamic routing in the flow.
I am not sure if its sensible enough to handle this in the customisation file instead of using dynamic routing which is available in the flow which can handle it better???
What approach should be followed between dynamic routing or customisation file or both?
can we use customisation file handle this at all? is yes, any information or example would be very helpful!

How do I change the channel for my cable modem? My broadband speed slows down during peak hours, and I was advised to change the channel from 11 to 6 for example, but that I would have to do it through my airport extreme.

You can change the radio channel on your AirPort Extreme using the AirPort Utility, as follows:
Run the AirPort Utility.
Select the AirPort Extreme, and then, select Edit.
Select the Wireless tab.
Select Wireless Options.
By default, the channels for both the 2.4 & 5 GHz radios are set to "Automatic." You would first change this to "Manual," and then, select the desired channel.

46YL863: Changing TV channels - delay before new picture appears

Hope someone can advise me please on an 'issue' that's recently arisen with my 46YL863 TV.
I say 'issue' rather than problem in case it's something to do with my settings that is causing this.
When I change TV channels I'm noticing that there is a several second delay from the current picture to the new one. I've narrowed it down to it only happening when switching from an HD channel to an SD one, or from an SD to an HD.
In these circumstances the screen first goes black, then blue and after a couple more seconds the new channel picture appears.
Changing between HD channels or SD channels and the new picture appears almost immediately.
This has not been happening prior to the last couple of days, so either a fault has developed or I've changed a setting somehow.
I've tried other HDMI input sockets and situation is the same.
Any suggestions please?

Further, I've now noticed that when playing back a recording from my Humax box, before the programme plays I get a few seconds of black screen before the picture appears. That didn't happen before. Don't know therefore if the problem's with my TV or the Humax Foxsat box.

SD Override doesn't work after changing the channel

I have a Motorola 7XXX series DVR which got the 1.9 upgrade a few days ago. I have SD Override enabled and set to Stretch. When I set it like that, the SD channel I'm on will then stretch to fill the screen (and the black bars disappear as they should). But when I change the channel and go to another SD channel, the black bars are back. Or if I enable the SD Override and then turn the TV off, it will be disabled once I turn the TV on again (and the black bars are back).
It seems like the SD Override isn't holding. I don't want to have to hit the # button on the remote to change the aspect ration every time I change the channel. The SD Override should work and stay enabled once set. Anyone know how to fix this?

On my SD TV... Notice the black bars on the top and bottom. Once I go in and out of the guide the black bars are gone. I have reported this but if you are confirming the issue I will report it again.

I'm looking for a role that gives access to Changing communication Channel parameters in Integration Directory. I know that SAP_XI_ CONFIG_J2ee gives this access but is there a way to assign any security role or any component so that it gives access to just Changing communication Channel parameters in Integration Directory instead of giving access to the whole IB:Configuration.
