Changing Save As Preset in Audition 5.5

In version 3 you could change the default save/ save as preset in Preferences/ system. In 5.5, I can't figure out where to change this. Thoughts anyone? Every time I save something I have to change the settings.

There's no global preference to do this in Au CS5.5 or Au CS6.  The option that shows up is always the importer plug-in that opened the file, or WAV as a fallback.
Please file a feature request to have this functionality return.

  • I want to save text presets in Final Cut

every time I search for an answer to my problem all I get is "edit it in motion". I don't have motion.

Once you set up a style for a title/text, in the Text panel of the inspector at the top you should see something like "Normal"... if you click on that label, you'll get a dropdown menu with a lot of preset styles [Do not select any of them before you save YOUR preset!] However, the top 3 selections of that menu allow you to save the text "formatting" as a custom style accessible from that dropdown menu. (I suggest using Save All Basic and Style Attributes). Make sure you do this immediately after setting all the attributes of your text (that includes Face > Color; Drop Shadow params... etc...). I've run into problems with FCPX not properly updating available parameters changing back and forth between titles and/or choosing a preset and attempting to Undo that preset to restore to the previous "condition." So, start with a "fresh" title, make your parameter selections and Save the preset (then test your preset!) [ I actually cannot find any mention of this in the documentation... so its stability is in question - at least to me.] Once you've successfully saved your Preset, it will always be available from that Style menu dropdown.

  • Changing web gallery presets (like background colour) and saving fields

Hello all—can this be done and, if so, how?
I want to change the "Stock" preset (with a black BG) so that it features a dark grey instead.
As well, I want Aperture to remember my studio name, etc.; for now, all that is remembered is copyright info. I can't see how to save a gallery with all fields set to what I will need into the future—can anyone assist? TIA, KL

As John points out, Web and Slideshow, prefs and presets are sticky for Collections. And you can reorder them which you can not so easily do on a selection for a Folder or All Photographs.

  • Save Batch PreSets

In the Batch menu I'd like to save "Batch PreSets", so I can save correct Action Set and also save File Naming options.Or just all options in the Batch dialog. It's a pain to set all the file naming parameters every time I change Action Set.

I don't have Lightroom, but believe the metadata can be written to an image or written to a table.   If to a table then it is not on the image.  Bridge always writes to the image or XMP file.
I just briefly scanned this article, but it may hold the clues as to what you are looking for.
From the article "If you were to open a JPEG, TIFF, or PSD image that had been edited in Lightroom without using the Save Metadata command, the file will open from Bridge 2 directly into Photoshop, not via the Camera Raw dialog. Image ratings, metadata keywords, and any other information that had been entered in Lightroom won’t be visible in Bridge 2".

  • Possible to change active print preset across documents via scripting?

Hi everybody. I have a ton of documents that were created previously, and the default/custom print preset is selected any time I go to print them. I'm going to be printing them using a script, but I would like to change the active preset in each document to a new preset I have created for this job. Basically, I just need a script which I can apply at the folder level which will change the active print preset for the documents and save them. Thanks in advance for the help!

You should be able to open each document, and then set app.document[i].printPreferences.activePrinterPreset.

  • After Effects doesn't save my presets

    Hello guys.
So this is the problem : i go into animation presets for save my presets but AE doesn't save it
    HELP
(Sorry for my English im French)

"What version of After Effects? Have you installed the recent updates? What operating system? Has this ever worked before? What other software are you running? Do you have any third-party effects or codecs installed? Tell us about your computer hardware. And so on."
hi, it sounds like i have the same problem.
i'm running AE cs4 on windows 7 32bit (sp1). i have a lot of other software, but i'm not sure if you want everything or just what's running in the backround while i'm on AE. no other software is running while i run AE. i do have 3rd party effects. 3gb ram, intel core 2duo 1.5 GHz.
the problem is this. i highlight all the properties i wish to make an animation preset from, click save animation preset, set the save location to desktop (to ensure it isnt an administrative permission conflict), and click save. after that, no preset file is made.
i've never had a problem until now. and none of the above information about my computer has changed.
i believe the thing that could have done it is tampering with PresetEffects.xml file in support files. i made a custom effect with 6 slider controls and used script editor to apply it to a null. when i tried saving it as an animation preset, the above problem happened and i havent been able to fix it.
this was the first time i tampered with the presetEffects file. i made a backup of it before editing it at all. when i encountered the problem, i replaced the edited file with the backup..still not fixed (i resterted AE every time i made a change to the preseteffects file). i then reinstalled AE and made sure the PresetEffects file was back to it's original state. still no fix.
    any ideas?

  • Open / save .mp2 files in Audition CS5.5? [Not .mp3]

Anyone know how to open / save .mp2 files in Audition CS5.5? [Not .mp3]

    a) costly for Adobe to implement
To make the CS5.5 deadline, and with the cross-platform rewrite, we simply weren't able to get to some things on our list (not that we ditched the features or anything).   However, MPEG 1 Layer II, and MPEG 2 Layer II have their own royalty issues that we have to pay for.
Wild_Duck wrote:b) they thought not many people needed it.
Not the case at all, we know many of our loyal radio customers need this functionality on a daily basis.   I do, however, have to admit that we saw this as less prevelant than .mp3 (when looking at our total customer base).

I keep meaning to make a list of things that use mp2 like radio playout systems, the Nagra field recorder, DAB files and so on so as to make more of a case. Any examples of mp2 need should be flagged up to Adobe.
Best thing to do would be to amass a set of test files such that if/when we support this, it can be more thoroughly tested in-house before we put it out the door.   I have a good set from various places, but we always get our best and trickiest test files from customers.

Not sure what you mean by that: is that URL in an image, or is it actual text?
If it is in an image, then you need to extract the image, edit it with something like Photoshop, then add it back to the PDF.
If the URL is actual text, I suggest that you remove the entire URL, then add the corrected link.

  • Cannot Save Export Presets PPro CC2014 (also in AME CC2014)

I cannot save any export presets in Premiere CC 2014 (PPro CC 2014) or import any presets.  Also applies to Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014 (AME CC 2014).
When I go File > Export > Media (or ⌘E) and set my format and output specs, I cannot save the preset.  The preset says "custom" and then I hit the "save preset" icon.  Type a name in the "Choose Name" dialog box, then click OK.  The "Choose Name" dialog box disappears, but nothing happens.  The preset line still says "custom" and there is no preset file available to choose.  The preset is not saved.  Export works, but the settings must be manually entered each and every time.
I also cannot import any presets.  Have .EPR files with presets that I've used in the past and NONE of them will import using the "import preset" icon.
The presets will also not import into AME CC 2014 via any method at all - icons, dragging/dropping, copying to various directories... cannot load them.  I cannot add them to the user presets & groups at all, no matter what method I have tried.  It's frustrating and becoming infuriating.  I can create a "New Group" in the user presets and groups, but nothing can be added to the group.  Clicking the + for "create new preset" does nothing - no window opens or appears.  Clicking "import presets" opens the "import preset" dialog box and I can choose files and click open, but they do not import or appear anywhere withing AME CC 2014.

AME CC 2014: "Adobe Media Encoder has encountered an unexpected error and cannot continue."

This was not directly a permissions issue.  Had checked that numerous times previously and applied settings to all enclosed items on every folder that was related.  This workaround was attempted several times previously, but had not worked.  Now, it's working.
Re: AME CC 2014: "Adobe Media Encoder has encountered an unexpected error and cannot continue."
I will say, what I did differently this time was trying to edit the Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014.app via Show Package Contents before attempting to do any of this.  Not sure if that's why it suddenly worked or not, but worth mentioning.

  • __is there a way to save a preset for audio mixer settings...??

    I have CS5
Looking to speed up the process so that I don't have to redo the audio mixer settings for every project - rather just tweak where needed.
So wanted to setup the audio mixer how I want it - and just have it set as default for all projects or have some automated way to apply the same audio mixer settings to each new project.
What's the best way to do this my people ?
    Thanks!

I agree with Jim Simon.  Creating your own template is a good workaround to what would be a good feature.
The ability to save audio presets (and more) is in my feature request list for Pr:

Please add your voice to the chorus requesting this feature, and any (or all) of the other useful features on my list.  Adobe listens.  Strength in numbers.   Here's the feature request link:

  • How to save a preset of eg. a transform - so you can re-use it again...

    Hi.
Imagine that you add several pictures as part of a video...
On the first picture you apply several adjustments like transform, cropping etc.
Is it possible to save these presets - so you easily can apply them to the remaining or selected pictutres, instead of having to redo them all again....as this can be incredible time consuming.
Any way this can be done?
    Br.

You can copy and paste effects from one clip to multiple clips.

  • Allow SET button on 6D to change White Balance Preset

On the EOS 6D right now, there is no fast/easy way to change/set the White Balance. Even my old 30D camera has a WB button where you press it, then rotate the main dial to change the WB presets.
On the 6D right now, you can customize the SET button to change IMAGE QUALITY, PICTURE STYLE, MENU, ISO (hold the set button and rotate the main dial), FLASH COMPENSATION.
I wish Canon could include White Balance as one of the options. There are already a button for ISO and MENU, yet they're included in the option. I bet everyone who is using the 6D miss the WB button. That's the first one I notice when using the 6D.
Just my wishful thinking, but I doubt that anyone from Canon will read this one.

    Hi,
The missing WB button is something we noticed right after the announcement and we also don't understand why Canon removed it, since it so important for Photography and Video.
Your request is completely logical and fair, and can be implemented via Firmware.
    - I suggest you to contact Canon and let them know your request, all EOS 6D users should do the same indeed.:

    - Maybe there is a section on this forum to report issues and request improvements?

  • Is changing Edit Quality Presets nescessary?

    Hi,
It was such a long time that I used Encore, and that was some versions ago. Hopefully you can help me answer this simple (?) question:
What are the quality presets for?
The thing is, I forgot to choose a preset before I burnt out two copies, thus the default setting was set to blueray instead of dvd (CBR, high quality) that I wanted. The dvd plays fine on both computers and on the dvd-player for the TV, and of course it is impossible for it to be anything else but a dvd. So, do I even need to change the quality presets for it to work?
I use Encore CS4 and the movie is PAL Widescreen. I imported an avi and let Encore do the encoding. I also set it to "one copy allowed" option, later I heard this can also cause compatibilty problems.
Should I burn out two new copies or can I send the ones I have got to the customer?
    Many thanks!
    /Helena

This is really just to let you know that someone is reading... 'cause I can't answer
I do hobbyist home video work, and I always just export an AVI from PPro3 and let Encore do all the transcoding work with the authoring
As far as I know, the quality presets "mostly" have to do with how the encoder (I use the default 2 pass) handles scenes with lots of motion... which are the hardest to do well so they view without "motion artifacts"
Hopefully, someone with more knowledge will come along with a better answer
If your current DVD plays well, on more than one brand/model player, I wouldn't do it over

  • Changing a sequence preset after editing

Hey everyone. I'm in a situation where I chose the wrong preset, edited my project with nested sequences and a multicam sequence, and now need to change the sequence preset or adjust the frame size. Is it possible to change the preset of a sequence without making a new one? This wouldnt be a problem if I didn't have a nested sequence in my project. Thanks!

Yeah thats the problem. I'll lose all of my edited footage that I created with the multi-cam editor, since that sequence depends on another sequence that was the wrong preset. I'd have to redo the entire project basically

  • Save export presets?

I have looked everywhere and cannot find a way to save export presets I've created. I'm assuming these presets are stored somewhere. It's a huge hassle having to recreate the export presets when multiple people have image archiving duties, or if you do a new CS install. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm assuming these presets are stored somewhere.
On a Mac these preset are stored in the user library (by default hidden per OSX 10.7, if you don't see it use menu Go and press option key to reveal).
    Here is the path:
    User (Your name) / library/ Application support/ Adobe/ Bridge CS(xx)/ Export presets.
You can copy this for back Up and paste it in new set up same location and then they should show after restarting Bridge.
On Windows it might be the same route but a bit different starting location.
