Changing Settings problem
When I go into Settings to change my Game Center settings (Settings-General-Restrictions), Game Center settings are greyed out and are defaulted to off. I've tried signing in and out of GC and enabling/disabling the restrictions and nothing works to ungrey it. Any suggestions?
Well my Win2k3SBS Server has two nics in it.. one which is setup as DHCP for my DSL Router with the other NIC being setup as 192.168.32.1. Sorry for the delay in posting..

I was prompted to downloaded a security update & so I did. when i tried to open firefox afterwards ,I couldn’t open it. My computer told me I had a DEP settings problem.I tried to change my computer's DEP settings but was notified i couldn't for firefox. I tried the uninstall & then install Firefox again route (could not even do it in safe mode since i can't even open firefox)but still had the same problem afterwards. What should I do?
Do a clean (re)install and delete the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data because all profile folders will be removed.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

My photos will not sync to my Apple TV (1st generation), ipad, iphone, or itouch. They used to be there but upon recent syncs with all devices they have all gone. I am totally baffled as I have not changed settings?
I had the same thing happen to me. It's a bug in iPhoto 9.4.2.
The first time you run iPhoto after upgrading to iPhoto 9.4.2, it "updates the iPhoto library". This sometimes tickles a bug where iTunes can see all your iPhoto albums, but iTunes thinks they are empty. Since iTunes thinks all your albums are empty, it dutifully deletes any photos from your synced iOS devices.
It's easy to tell if this is the problem you are seeing. Open iTunes and go to the photos sync panel for one of your iOS devices. If you have multiple albums checked, but iTunes shows a total of 0 photos, then you have the problem.
I spent an hour with an Apple Genius. he couldn't find any mention of this problem in their internal support system. His recomendation was to reinstall the operating the system. I suspect that this won't solve it.
The only solution I have found is to restore iPhoto 9.4.1 and the corresponding iPhoto library from your backups.
I would refrain from upgrading to iPhoto 9.4.2 until Apple has a fix for this issue. -
Since upgrading Iphone to iOS 5.1.1 it does not automatically divert to my wi-fi internet when wifi is available in my home. It has been draining my mobile data I now have very high bills from my mobile carrier for high data usage. I can only manually change settings in the Network and turn cellular data on and off everytime I get home and leave the home. This is very frustrating as it wasn't a problem until the upgrade. I have spoken to a few people that this has happened to. Has anyone found this problem and does anyone have other solutions?

Adobe Flash Player Settings Problem
Hi I'm having problems selecting things inside of "Adobe
Flash Player Settings."
When ever i right click on a flash instance, say a youtube
video and select settings, I get no response from box that appears
no matter where I click. Even when I click close I get no response.
I have a Mac Book Pro running os 10.4.11
I have the newest version of Flash Player 10
I have Java 5
I have tried this in both Firefox and Safari
When I created a new account on my computer and opened
youtube i was able to change settings inside of panel.
Any help would be wonderful I have googled and searched these
forums a million times looking for help and have found nothing

I was digging around in:
~/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/www.macromedia.com/bin/fpupdatepl/
and I discovered:
Adobe Flash Player.pkg
If you Right Click (or Control + Click) the Package and then select 'Show Package Contents' this will open a new window.
Then navigate to:
Contents/Resources/
There you will find a file:
Adobe Flash Player.info
Open this file with text edit (or your app of choice)
On about the fourth line from the bottom look for:
OverwritePermissions NO
Change this to:
OverwritePermissions YES
A NOTE OF CAUTION
I have not fully tested this change, but did find that after I modified the local settings for the Flash Player, then restarted Safari that the settings remained the same.

I have an iCal settings problem. I simply cannot change the format to 12 hours. I have repeatedly set the system to 12 hours and that works fine. I have re launched iCal several times to no avail. Running system 10.6.7 and iCal is 4.0.4. Any ideas? Thanks. Geoff.
iCal takes its format from System Preferences>Language& Text>Formats.
Click on the 'Customize' button for 'Time' and set as here:
Then drag the 'PM' button in the 'Time Elements' section to after the short time - though when I tried this it didn't appear in iCal. You may need to experiment a bit. -
Mail is changing settings in preferences!
Lots of users are exposed to the Mail 3 bug (Leopard) where Mail is randomly changing settings in "Preferences"-"Account"-"Advanced" from "Password" to "APOP".
(The visual effect of this bug for the average user is that Mail will promt you for a password-dialogue box, which of course is useless trying to enter, since the settings has been changed in the preferences)
This is only in conjunction with certain Pop accounts and happens when Mail is connecting to the Pop-server (This happens most often the first time Mail connects after launch).
The Pop accounts affected are (as far as I know) Verizon in USA, Demon in England and Glocalnet in Sweden.
There are probably more Pop account-providers that are affected so I want as many reports as possible from people with this problem.

Michael in SwedenThis definitely is happening to me. I've had a Mac mini for only a month and have a dot MAC email account and my local dial-up ISP account.
Had a number of issues setting these up and after re-doing them 3 or 4 times, finally got them both working. Three days later, the dot MAC stopped working because Mail was trying to log on with SSL. It had been working fine before this. When I turned the machine on in the morning and went online, I kept getting error messages from the dot MAC system.
It's very annoying.
How does Thunderbird for the MAC work? Maybe that is the solution to this one. -
Srm User interface - change settings : Error in role assignment
Hi Gurus,
Users are facing issue when they are changing settings in the SRM user interface site .
Go to SRM user interface SIte --> Change my settings --> change date format or decimal format .
When they save it --> Gets an error - error in role assignment .
What can be the issue. It's same in Dev and qa .

Satellite L40-14F - Display settings problem
Hi,
I have Toshiba Satellite L40-14F with Intel GMA X3100 video card.
I have display settings problem, I can't change screen resolution and color quality when video card drivers are installed, screen resolution is 800 by 600 pixels and color quality is lowest 4 bits, when i uninstall video card drivers can change it. I try to install other drivers, there are the same problem :( Please help me :)

My problem is my Macbookpro mid 2010 with OSX 10.7.5 seems to turn off or logs off before timemachine is finished with the backup even though I have changed settings for energy management to "never" shutdown when plugged in to an outlet?
I had this problem on an IMac and I finally found a solution in an unlikely place. The problem was a security setting. I don't remember right this moment the exact setting and I am not on that machine right now but when I am I will try to retrace my steps to the fix. In the meantime check your security settings and any browser or browser extensions for computer log off settings. These settings are intended to prevent unauthorized use and incidentally screw up your backups. Hope this helps.

Can not change Settings on My Macbook
I have a Macbook and have a problem with the setting where if I change the sreen saver it will not change when the screen saver cames on, it will go back to the original one. It does it will every other setting but only changes back when I open the settings.
Please help it really starting to get annoyingNo it not that it is a school computer because I could change the setting then one day the computer did some funny thing where the slashed and now all my setting are stuck the way they where when that happened

N73 - Operator Settings Problem
Hi I've received settings from my operator to setup my phone automatically & they have been received in my txt inbox. When I try to open them I get the message "General: Feature Not Supported". I'm unsure why this is, the phone has the most current firmware on it. It is the standard edition if that changes anything, but I don't think it would. Would be greatful if someone could shed some light on the message I'm getting.
As i told it might not be the phone " or it might " but i've been reading through the Blyk support forum and they have their share of settings problems. on the other hand i think the N73 is one of the best handsets around so it's not a waste.

and the best way to diagnose the problem is to use another sim card from another company "if you have one", and let them send you the confiquration messages , and try that, if it worked, then it's not hte phone.

Not waking up from sleep-flashes lighted keyboard and screen, and I cannot unlock the padlocks in the system to change settings, look at keychain, etc.

I can't reinstall ML, nor can I create another user (unless I use Terminal, and I'm a novice at best with Terminal).
