Changing Shape Color

I'm new to Keynote - I looked in the guides and searched the forums but didn't come up with much. I'm trying to do something very basic. I drew an arrow timeline, and it came with it's default color which i want to change. For the life of me I can't figure this out. How do I change a shapes color, can anyone offer guidance? I made it editable but still no joy, and nothing in the guide apart from adding a custom shape which seems odd...
any help would be appreciated

Welcome to the discussions, fiveyardpass.
Select the shape you want to change the color of, open the inspector (Click on the blue circle with an "i" in it), then click on the Graphic tab (the one with the square and the circle on it). Under "Fill" click on "Image Fill" and choose "Color Fill". Then, if you click on the color swatch, it'll open the color palette.

  • Change the color of the outer line of a shape

Hello I'm trying to create a rectangle with a red border and no inside fill. It's only to highlight some text of a bank form.
I know i have to right click the layer and choose blending options and stroke. But I've tried to change the color so many times and no matter what I do, the outer line remains gray and with rounded corners.
I want the corners of the rectangle to be squared, not rounded but I'm having a hard time changing this.
    Please help
    I'm using Photoshop CS3
    thank you
Could anyone please show a picture of where to change the color of the outer line? I've tried everything.

    Hi,
With Ps CS3, you'll probably want to define a Layer Style for a Stroke and then use that with the Square Shape Layers.
This is a Stroke of 4 px, 'Centered' (so a very slight corner rounding on the outside edge. 'Inside' will give you square corners for both inside and outside edges). To change the color of the stroke, go to Layer> Layer Style> Stroke and change the color by clicking on the color bar.

  • Changing shape border color

I'm working with Photoshop Elements 6
I've created a round rectangle. I want the shape to be black with a white border. However whenever I finalize and save, my white border disappears and I'm just left with a black shape. Edit > Stroke is'nt highlighted, and for the life of me I can't figure out how to change it.
Whenever I change the colors from black and white I dont seem to have this problem. How can I change/modify the BORDER COLOR of my shapes?

    Steve,
    1. Simplify the shape layer, and Edit>stroke will be available
    2. CTRL+left click the shape layer in the layers palette - should see marching ants
    3. Edit>stroke - ?outside
    4. If your background is white, you will not see the white of the stroke - need contrast

  • When I insert a shape, how do I change the color without changing the texture?

When I insert a shape, how do I change the color without changing the texture?

    Hi,
you are working with a percentage width of your tables, for example:
    table width="123%
    td width="75%"
    td width="25%"
So it is simply a arithmetic problem to get the proportional wide (means the ratio of % to cm) of your images, so that they do not break the frame. Certainly you could use (translated from German DW) "properties" and change the sizes there:

  • Can you layer a Microsoft shape onto an image in Photoshop and change the color???

I'm using OS X Yosemite 10-10-1, Photoshop CC, 2014.2.1. I uploaded a shape from Word Office 2011 and layered it over my image. The symbol is blue and I want to change the color in Photoshop. I've tried but can't seem to figure out how it's done. The shape is blue.
    Thank you.

Put the Word symbol on a new Word document.
    Save as  .pdf
Bring into Photoshop and save as .psd. The area around the symbol will be clear.
Drag symbol layer over an image
Lock the clear area usng the symbol indicated by the red arrow shown above
    Choose your replacement color
Edit > Fill with the Blending Mode set to Color
    Job done.

  • Changing a color completely in a user shape.

Thanks in advance for any ideas! Have 2 shots that require hats on people to be changed to a completely different color. The Opposite color to be exact. Need to use a "usershape" to isolate it as it's too close to skin color on the subjects for a simple tweak.
I know how to do this is FCP with the color wheel, but color seems much more pixel accurate and easier to create a mask. Any ideas how I could alter the color from magenta to green?
    Thanks!!!

it's too close to skin color
how I could alter the color from magenta to green?
So the skin color is magenta? Might want to massage that and try to give yourself some more separation, maybe in Primary.... and even if you have to introduce a little bit of error, maybe think about re-fixing it at a later stage...
I was going to advise using an HSL qualifier in Secondaries..., and you might try that anyway, in conjunction with a User Shape. And you'll likely need a tracker if the tolerances/separations are really too tight, which will add its own baggage.
If this is a moving picture, I expect you'll also need to animate the user shape as the character will likely be changing shape within the scene.
Curves in secondaries will not be available to you as a tool, as they are not vignette or HSL qualifiable.
User shapes are a non-starter in the COLORFX room, where inserting an "Invert" node would be one tempting option to flip the magenta over to green... especially if the luminance value is close to 50%. You could still fix that with a brightness node, though.
It is sort of possible, with some effort and "add" nodes, to build up a kind of user shape with ovals... but this is one of the reasons why that room is of very limited value, unless you are applying "overall" effects. In the end, though, probably so ridiculously awkward as to not be worthwhile.
So there are several things you can't do... and my own approach would be to eyedropper the hat and see what kind of real separation there might be, before I resorted to the much more labor intensive user shapes. Within the HSL qualifier, if that worked reasonably well, then its going to be a fairly straightforward 3-way-Inside correction. A coarse oval or very, very simple user shape might help if there were some "cleanup" garbage-matte fixes necessary.
If the separation isn't there, I'm afraid you're really into a rotoscope and I hope you've got plenty of time on your hands. You will likely have to animate the user shape in the Geometry/User Shapes room. Save, save, save. And I hope you're on the latest version, because COLOR regularly forgets things that are done in this room. If you do use a tracker.... they are not re-connected (in versions prior to 1.5.3) on re-opening the project, so you should render out the clips immediately!
Make the tool do as much of the work as possible... I thought that's what computers were for!
Actually, this would be a fairly straightforward task in an application like daVinci "Resolve", but they have a completely different architecture.

  • Changing the color of a shape as it moves and scales?

I have a symbol of a shape with a gradient drawn in Illustrator that I copied-and-pasted into Flash CS5. I created a simple motion tween by making the symbol move around the stage and scale. How do I now change the color of the symbol as it is moving on stage?
    Thanks.

the advice given so far is sound, but by adding adjust color filter or the color effect > tint, you will be changing your gradient to a solid color, not another gradient.
so for instance if your gradient is a black to red linear grandient and you want it to tween to a black to blue gradient, you have to break apart your symbol, remove the existing tween and perform a shape tween.
a shape tween can tween the gradient that fills the shape as well as the shapes position and scale.

  • Shape color is changed upon saving?

I'm currently working on a vector in the trial version of Photoshop CS6 that I acquired this Friday(?), and I'm running into a troublesome dilemma every time I re-open the file to work on at a later date. I find that some layers -- not all, but maybe five or six -- have changed their color to whichever color is in my palette, or whatever was in my palette the last time I opened Photoshop. Is there a setting I'm missing, or is this a current glitch in this version of CS6? And in case you're wondering, yes, I have tried saving with all shape layers locked before I close; it made no difference.

Something which comes to mind is a gradient-filled Shape layer whose gradient is defined with the special "foreground colour stop" and/or "background colour stop". These stops are identifiable by their checkered appearence and are highlighted in the images below. In the OS X version of Ps CS6, these gradient stops will take on the current Foreground Color and Background Color when a document is opened. These stops can be converted to normal fixed colour stops by clicking them, or double-clicking then OK'ing the colour.

  • Change BrushstrokeBrownNTSC Shape Color

Is it possible to change the color of this Apple motion shape?
Do I need other software? New DSP 3 user.

Adding to JJMack’s advice on using Adjustment Layers:
The images you posted are poorly fitted to automating the task in a significant way, I’m afraid.
You will likely have to do considerable manual masking because the chrome armature does not separate from the white ceramic very well.
And changing the image with the black product with the matt finish to a reflective-surface-appearance would probably be a pretty time intensive task.
Should your customers dare say something like »but to achieve this effect in Photoshop you just have to …«: Beware – your cutomers might not be willing to pay for the time the work actually takes because they don’t comprehend the task.
In any case getting the RAW images (or 16bit images from that originak data) might help as with extreme color adjustments working in 16bit can be beneficial.

  • How do I make a user shaped vignette move and change shape in Color

I  want to isolate an irregular shaped area on screen by creating a vignette linked to a shape. The trouble is as the shape I want to isolate moves across the screen it changes size, orientation and shape. I know I can use keyframes when I'm using a round or square vignette but how can I track/keyframe a user defined shape?
    Thanks for any suggestions.

Actually, I've sort of answered my own question. I've found out that having created a shape in the geometry room and attached it to a secondary correction tab, you can make the shape change shape, position and size. What you must do is to stay in the geometry room with the shape selected and then create key frames. At each keyframe you can alter the position of the points defining the shape. You can't however morph between different defined shapes.
    Hope that makes sense!

  • Is it possible to change the color of the text in one specific field?

If I want to make someone's mobile number show up as the primary contact, is it possible to make the text for that number a different color or make it bold? I can't seem to find a way to do it.
    Thanks.

Make a Shape > Inspector > Graphic > Tinted Image Fill > Scale to fit > browse to image > click on the color patch to change the color to what you want
    or
Drag in an image > overlay it with a Shape > select the color for the shape and change its Opacity
Shapes may have Gradient and Advanced Gradient (multiple colors) fills both linear and radial. Both are in the Graphic Inspector as is Opacity.

  • Is there a way to change the color of the Bezier Curves and points to a different color other than black  I find it perplexing while setting points and curves working on a photo that needs to be separated from it's background for placement on transparent

Is there a way to change the color of the Bezier Curves and points to a different color other than black  I find it perplexing while setting points and curves working on a photo that needs to be separated from it's background for placement on transparent backgrounds. Any thoughts?

Yes. Well, sort of: instead of a "path", set the pen tool to "shape" in the tool properties. Then set the fill colour to transparent, and the stroke colour to the colour you want. You can also set the stroke width.
Not perfect, but at least you can see the path more clearly - the anchor points and handles still remain the default colour. Open the path panel, and right-mouse click the path shape to create a selection based on that shape. The Paths panel menu also allows you to create work paths based on that shape.
Unfortunately when you try to move the handles the black thin outline appears again until you release the mouse button.
This is one of several things that works better in Photoline: in Photoline, once the path is set to a specific colour, editing the path uses the actual colour and stroke width. which is extremely handy for creating path based selection with awkward background colours and/or a high resolution screen. In Photoline the handles and bezier points are also much, much larger, which makes it rather simpler to work with as well - especially on a higher resolution screen. And when selected the handles and points are a clear red with a black outline - again easier to spot and identify. I just works better, in my opinion.
