Changing shared memory in Bios for graphics - Satellite C660 217

There is no setting in the BIOS that i can find.
Bios is up to date

Hi
This is not possible.
The shared memory is assigned automatically and this is controlled by graphic card driver.
But the shared memory is only in use if the applications (i.e game) would require more graphic RAM.

  • I've not found the option to increase shared memory of intel hd graphics card in BIOS

Hi! I don't find that option. I have the 2.08 version, but the 3.01 is out there. The graphics performance is not very well now. Is there a way to increase this memory to 256 mb or more? Thanks in advance

    hi freinn,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
This is on Auto by default.
The amount of memory shared to your graphics is dependent on how much RAM you have. Also even if you max out the RAM capacity there will no big jump on the shared memory just few MBs will be added
The Manual is not available even if there is an updated BIOS.
Even if a Manual option is available still you can only share the same maximum as the one on Auto. Not a big jump.
i hate to say it but that's how it will be
    Hope this helps
    Cheers!

  • New Intel BIOS for VGA - Satellite A200

    Hello everyone,
Intel has new vga BIOS for Intel x3100 graphics card, this new bios are in 15.6.1 drivers. My notebook is a Satellite and has this graphic card, and my question is if somebody knows when we can download the new BIOS with new VGA in Toshiba downloads??
    Thanks

    Hi,
unfortunately this VGA BIOS is not available separately for a mobile system since the VGA BIOS is embedded in the normal BIOS. So if you want to have the latest from toshiba supported VGA BIOS then just update your machines BIOS.
The problem is that a mobile VGA chipset has another memory and chip timings, so every manufacturer has (especially) its own version of the VGA BIOS.

  • Change Shared Memory owner

I am running BerkeleyDB on FreeBSD 6.2 ... our application has two sets of processes that share a common set of databases. Each set of processes runs as a different user. I would like to use the shared memory environment option ( DB_SYSTEM_MEM ).
If a process under user A creates a DB which is then later recovered by a process owned by user B ... it will fail. This is because FreeBSD only allows the owner or creator ( they can be different ) to delete a shared memory region which occurs during recovery.
If BerkeleyDB had a means to set the owner / creator as different users that would help.
    Any other suggestions ?

    Hi,
The easiest solution would probably for your application (in process under user A) were to change the access permissions of the region after it is opened.

  • What's the correct bios for my Satellite A100? Is PSAA9E = PSAA9 ?

    Hi,
I wanna do a BIOS Update. But If I go to the Toshiba-driversite: http://de.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_bios.jsp and choose Notebook-->Satellite-->A series there are listed:
    A100 (PSAA2)
    A100 (PSAA8)
    A100 (PSAA9)
    A100 (PSAAN)
    A100 (PSAAR)
At the undersite of my Laptop is printed: PSAA9E. Is this the same as PSAA9 ?

    Hi mate,
dont worry and download the bios for PSAA9 since toshiba cuts the last digits from the model number because the last digit probably the region or country describes. I am not sure, but what I am sure is that PSAA9E definetively PSAA9 is.

The Intel driver depends on the Intel CPU.
So I’m wondering what Satellite C660-xxx do you have exactly and what CPU has been installed in the notebook.
    Could you provide such details?
I tried the INTEL web site update service, but they see the graphic driver as a customised item (TOSHIBA) and so their driver will not work and refer back to the manufacturer.

  • More graphic memory after BIOS update on Satellite A110-195

After Instell BIOS Update from 1.30 to 1.60 avaliable crahpic memory: 64 Mb, must be 128 Mb.
It after update or it my mistake?

Wait a moment. As far as I know in specification for this Intel 945GM is written that this card can use between 8MB-128MB for video operations. I am not 100% sure but I believe you can not force this card to use fix value and it works automatically and used memory depends on available RAM and also on intensive video operations. Am I right?
If you start system properties how many RAM is shown under General tab?
BTW: BIOS downgrade is not possible. It can be done just by service using special tools they have. Because of that you will never be able to find old BIOS versions on download page.

  • Changing shared variable reference modes for all nodes in application. Shortcut?

I have a large application which makes extensive use of both network-published and single-process shared variables.  I want to change the reference mode of every such node in the application from absolute to target-relative.  Is there any way to do this without having to open every subVI in the application and use the right-click menu on every node?
    Sean

I don't know of any shortcut, but if you want to change the reference node of everything in the application you could probably script it.  I was thinking something similar to what I have below where you traverse the BD of a specific VI for all SharedVariableNodes and change the relative mode to Target Relative.
Depending on how your project is organized you can add some additional functionality before the open VI reference to go through and open the reference of every VI in your project.

  • Changing shared key in bulk for Clients in ACS 4.2.1

    HI,
is there any way to change the shared secret key for all devices in bulk instead of going to each clients and changing key in ACS 4.2.1 ?
Please let me know if is there any way to perform it faster.
    Thanks

    Hi Nitin,
Well, if you have all the devices in a single NDG then just click on that NDG >> at the bottom click edit properties  >> enter the new shared secret key there and it will take precedence from there on. Even though if you click on any AAA client inside that NDG, it will show the OLD shared secret key but due to the presence of this feature where NDG key will always override the AAA client, this will surely work for you.
    If you're not convinced with the above suggestion and really want to change the shared secret key then let me know;
Are you using ACS SE or ACS windows. I'm assuming that you have ACS SE
Here you need a CSV file with the action code to certain NAS and you should be able to synch the CSV file with RDBMS to the database using
    4.2 version
    Code 224 - UPDATE_NAS
    VN = AAA client Name
    V1 = IP-Address
    V2 = shared secret key
    V3 = vendor

  • P67-GD65, change Turbo multipliers in BIOS for overclocking

    Hi,
    Here are my specs
    Intel Core i5 2500k
    MSI P67-GD65 B3, Bios 1E
    8GB Corsair ram
I have read a lot on guides and other forums on how it is possible to keep the base multiplier, i.e. at 33 and to go into the CPU features part in the Overclock menu and change the core limit for Turbo multipliers so that the over clock comes into effect when turbo kicks in. As yet, though I haven't been able to pull it off. I have changed the multipliers and increased the watts given in the menu. But still in windows the CPU only goes up to 34 multiplier. Even when I set the multipliers to a relatively tame 40.
Am I missing something here. Is this sort of thing not possible in the new BIOS, because all the guides and topics have referee to old or beta BIOS. Bt I don't want to start flashing them all and screw something up.
So any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance

    http://forums.overclockersclub.com/index.php?showtopic=183670
Please check down below where he shows how he over clocked using turbo, "Latest Successful Attempts using Speedstep Turbo overclocking"
That's basically what I am aiming for. I will be over clocking through the BIOS, I want to leave the base multiplier at 33 which is default for my processor and over clock by changing the turbo multipliers.
I have tried an older BIOS, 1.9. In it using the instructions provided I have been able to do what he mentioned and with prime95 my clock speed runs at 40x.
I'm trying each BIOS to see which one essentially killed this feature. Because in later BIOS this doesn't work and for some reason the turbo multiplier cap seems to be fixed at 60.
A review by Guru3D mentioned a similar way to overclock the board

  • MSI Barebone: Unlocked BIOS for graphics upgrade

    Hello Svet,
I'm currently using a Medion Erazer x6823 which is basically a MSI MS-16F33 Whitebook that is equipped with a 670MX.
Now I'm planning on upgrading to a 780m and after some research I found out that I will need to flash the E16F3IMS.51X BIOS to enable my Laptop to run newer graphics cards. Currently I have the E16F3IM7.50M BIOS running on my notebook. However all the time I try to flash the new BIOS I get the following error:
I thought that you may be able to help me as the people in the German MSI-forum seem to run out of ideas what could be wrong. Maybe you are able to provide me with a unlocked BIOS that allows me to flash it directly or a modified version of the 50M Bios that would me allow to flash the 51X afterwards?
If you need any more information please let me know.

  • OpenGL driver for Toshiba Satellite C660-1J2 ?

Adobe After Effects always crash on startup.
It says it cannot initialize OpenGL and that I should contact the manufacturer of the Graphics adapter.
So I contact Intel because I got a Intel Hd Graphics adapter but they say the driver I already have is custom tuned for Toshiba. So I search on Toshiba but cannot really find any useful link.
Should I install OpenGL manually or can I disable it somehow without starting After Effect?
    How do I installOpenGl manually?
I have downloaded the latest Graphics adapter driver from you but it doesn't help.
All I want to do is to start a popular Adobe product so I believe many people have this problem.

    Hi
OpenGL is a standard API for writing software for 2D or 3D computer graphics.
OpenGL is an open source product but DirectX is released by Microsoft and mostly DirectX is part of the graphic card driver and not OpenGL.
However, you cannot download and install OpenGL to use it within the graphic card driver the OpenGL needs to be implemented in the driver
Mostly its done by graphic card manufacture.
Therefore you will need to check the Intel page to get an driver from Intel which supports OpenGL because the notebook supports the Intel (HM55) HD graphics.
This link detects which driver updates are relevant to your computer and then helps you install them quickly and easily.

  • Satellite Pro L850 - i5 3210M shared memory allocation

    Hi,
I'm a proud new owner of this excellent laptop and I've added extra RAM to take it to 8GB.
All the spec sheets on retailer websites state that the gpu can be assigned up to 1.7GB of shared memory.
Previous experience of other computers is that this memory amount is altered in the BIOS settings but I do not see any option in latest BIOS 1.60.
Obviously theres' plenty of RAM to give to the GPU but I can't see how to assign it. Do the i5 chips allocate dynamically once Windows is running or is the BIOS missing this setting?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    Hi
The shared memory is controlled by graphic card driver and this cannot be controlled manually if an running applications needs some shared memory, the driver would assign this value automatically.
