Changing Song Count
Sometimes when I am using my 5th Generation ipod my song count in playlists and total songs will change. For example: I am listening to my 2006 playlist with 1100 songs but it only lists 774. After switching to another playlist I switch back to the 2006 playlist and it lists the correct number of songs 1100.
It tends to do this more when I go into settings and turn on the shuffle songs setting.
During the time that it is listing the incorrect number of songs it will also not shuffle some playlists properly. For example: In shuffle song mode I go to a playlist with 100 songs and press play. It shows a song from that playlist but lists the song as 1 of 1 not 1 of 100. It is showing the shuffle symbol while it is doing this. Then, for no reason, it starts working correctly.
Can anyone shed some light?
You have a bunch of songs marked as Skip when shuffling.
In iTunes, select the songs, right click - get info.
Under Options, set Skip when shuffling to No.
Resync the iPod.

Library total song count different than available "Entire music library" number for mobile devices?
If I go to my iTune library and display the song count I see I have 3094 separate songs. However when I connect my iPhone or iPad and I choose "Sync Music" with the option "Entire music library" it shows 2963 songs. I have 10GB+ of available space on both devices, so it's not a space issue. Concerned I had songs in my library that were not mapped to actual files on my drive I audited them. I highlighted all the songs, chose "Get Info" then changed the BPM to 999, once they processed I sorted by BPM and they all read 999, there were no gaps that would indicate a broken file association.
I can't seem to find any other possible explanation. If any one has any ideas, and an option to resolve the problem I'm definitely open to suggestion, thanks!

iTunes: 11.4Possibilities are that unchecked songs are not being synced to the device, or that your library contains what I refer to as "logical" duplicates, two or more entries in the database that point to the same physical file on disc. If you have logical duplicates only one copy of the track is left on the device after syncing, but you may see the same set of tracks being added each time you sync even though nothing has been changed in your library.

Itunes 11 change play counts numbers
Is there any way to change play counts or merge two songs play counts when you find out you have the same song twice in your librairie? By the way I subscribed to iTunes match... if this may change something...
I don't know any way to merge play counts automatically, but you can increase the play count of a song pretty easily. Play it, jump to the last few seconds of the song, then let it end. This will update your play count. Repeat as many times as necessary until the count equals the total number of plays between the two copies. Then delete one of the copies. A little laborious, but it'll get the job done.

ITunes Plus Upgrade, Two Song Counts, Price Does Not Add Up
When I click on the iTunes Plus Upgrade in the iTunes store, I see two song counts. One is called Total Songs, the other is called Songs. The Total Songs number is higher than the Songs number. It appears that the Song number is what can be upgraded, the actual list of songs shown below matches.
But I'm not sure what the Total Songs number represents. It is lower than the total number of Protected AAC songs I have in my library.
So, does anyone know what the Total Song count represents?
Another confusing issue is that if I multiple the Songs count by $0.30 (which is the cost per song) that number is less than what the iTunes store says it will cost. I only have one video that can be upgraded, so that should only add another $0.30 to the total cost. But the total cost iTunes is showing is calculates to about 50% more songs that what it shows I can upgrade to.I've done some comparisons of the File Info between my DRM-Protected 'Dark Side' and 'Animals' songs and the DRM-Free versions. It turns out there are differences which might explain the trouble Upgrade My Library has in recognizing eligible albums.

Notice the difference in the album art and, notably, the Copyright information. This is not the same song with only quality affected. Apparently, there was some copyright changes that took place, which might critically affect the eligibility of an album or songs.

Notice here, too, the running time of the song is different.
All that needs to be done by Apple is a configuration of Upgrade My Library so that it will recognize these previous versions of these albums for those of us who bought it before the revision took place.

Change of count on the header on filtering the ALV
Hi Gurus!
I have this ALV report which gives the sales order report, in the output right on the top the report shows the count of all the distinct sales order displayed when the report is run based ona selection criteria. Is it possible to show the total count of teh sales order in the report to change and show teh number of distinct sales doc when we use filter on teh report. Suppose if we run the report based on a particular selection criteria and it gives a count of 30 . In the output if we put filter on a particular column and the report shows fewer lines , which will reduce the number of sales doc, is it possible to show this number which for eg will be say 20 , is it possible to show the number 20 after filetr on ALV instead of that 30 remainiung constant. I am wanting the report to show the change in count of distinct sales doc when I put filter on any columnh.

I cannot change song order on playlists (old or new) with highlight and drag. I have turned off shuffle and highlighted the far left column (up/down arrow) of playlist. My mac pro is running 10.5.8 and am using itunes 10.4. I can't drag and drop "music" to "playlist" but can right click and get the option to "add to playlist." No such option for moving song within playlist, only the up and down arrow which moves song from top to bottom list, so if it is #4 from top it will move to #4 from bottom. Stupid I know. I spent over an hour with Apple support, reinstalled itunes, restarted and rebooted computer. Networked with my laptop which is running 10.6.8 and itunes 10.4 and it can drag and drop. The final Apple support solution was to reinstall my operating system. I would prefer not to. Any other ideas?
After looking at other people's posts, I think it's official: there is a bug. Itunes support said I should not have lost the drag/drop tool and I haven't on the laptop that is running itunes 10.4 and operating system 10.6.8. I chatted with someboby who lost both his drag/drop and side scroll and what we have in common is a wacom tablet for a mouse. My laptop is a wireless mouse. I reinstalled whatever updated driver that wacom has out there, shut the system down for night, hoping for magic, but alas none to be had. So if I want to change song order, I network the laptop and desktop, share the screen on the laptop, drag and drop to my heart's content and curse Apple for making me work this hard to find the tool that was once at my fingertips. Apple also let me know that if I want to share songs in household that the hundreds on songs that were purchased for .99 need to be repurchased for another .30. Maybe Apple is holding my drag/drop tool captive til I pay up the money or Maybe the next update will fix the problem, I for one give up for now.

It sounds like the staus bar is turned off. Select view from the menu bar and enable the staus bar.

Itunes 10.6.3 - Just update to the new Itunes and the album artwork is not sticking anymore... I upload the artwork and when I change songs and go back the art is gone. Anyone with similar issue ?
I have this issue. Album artwork was totally fine before. After this update, it is all messed up and even got messed up when transferred to my iphone.
iTunes doesn't have the artwork anymore, but then iPhone has it but shows wrong artwork with wrong albums.

Does the iPod nano keep changing songs if I keep it in my pocket?
I'm not going to be running or gymming with the iPod nano in my pocket. It is mostly for home use. I just wanted to know that since there is no HOLD/LOCK button, it may keep changing songs if put in a tight pocket while walking or travelling. Is that the case?
Also, should I buy it for home use? (With the occasional outdoor trip? Or do you think I just stick to my laptop)If you have Shake to Shuffle turned off and you push the sleep button it shouldn't change songs in your pocket. Mine doesn't.

I am no longer able to change songs using my headphones
After updating to iOS 6.0 on my iphone 4S I am no longer able to change songs using the headphone controls and when i double click on the home button it no longer allows me to turn my music on and off without unlocking the screen and going into the music app on the phone.
Any ideas why this is? Is it a known bug?Start by opening Disk Utility, from Applications > Utilities, then select the internal storage MacIntosh HD, and then Repair Permissions. You should see some printer libraries noted as having the wrong permissions, that may be part of the problem.
Be sure you have the latest printer/scanner drivers installed by going to the Canon site and download the latest available.
You can also try using the Mac OS X built-in scanning software by going to Applications > Image Capture and see if that handles the scanning for you - works great with my Epson scanner. -

I'm running 10.8.5 on 2.3ghz, iCore 7 with 8gb of DDR3 with Terabyte storage.
Yes the system has been updated, yes i am running the latest iTunes, and YES I have diligently applied all system patches.
That said...
What the frak is wrong with iTunes, aside from the bloated beast it's become ?
As you can see from the images below....the song counts are OFF from the same playlist folder.
The 1st image is from iTunes, the 2nd is from Swinsian. Regardless of Swinsian because it IS reading the exported XML file from iTunes, which is reporting the correct number of songs in a given folder of playlists, iTunes 11 on the other hand is NOT! Sadly. I have gone thru and checked each individaul playlist and done the math that each is reporting the correct number of songs in a playlist...and the number that I come up with is 569 just like Swinsian does and the XML file does. However, iTunes is NOT reporting that...as you can see, it reporting 247! Ummmm iTunes/Apple...your math is slightly WRONG!
Is anyone else seeing this ? Obviously there is a corruption somewhere...but I'll be damned if I can see it or figure out how the frak to fix it....What version of Windows?

I Dropped My Ipod Gen 4 on a Granite Floor and it Spider webbed. Now all I can do is Play songs and change songs from the lock screen. I cannot unlock the Ipod or do anything else. Is there any way for me to get it fixed Cheap???

So I have been using my iPad for a few months now and I recently noticed that the time display next to the playlist name in the music app that is supposed to display the total song count and time of a playlist is way off. I have a 25 song playlist that is around 2 hours on my computer appears as 2003 minutes on my iPad. It's a smart playlist limited to 25 songs if that makes any difference. Is this happening to anyone else? Any help would be appreciated!

Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:

Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
__NOTE: Removing these files will remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
Once the computer is back up and running open iCal and test.

Not silly at all. Over the years I have undertaken the gargantuan task of converting my entire CD collection to mp3. It's a huge collection and a massive set of mp3s. More than I care to keep on my PC hard drive. So, from time to time I move some from external hard disk storage onto my PC's hard drive. So, I don't really want the library to grow as much as I want it to be fluid. But I don't necessarily want to remove ALL the songs currently on my mp3 player when I add new ones. Other mp3 players I have owned were a little more flexible in this regard. Heck, even the $50 Disney mp3 player I just bought my 7 year old for Christmas is more flexible than the Shuffle.
You should ONLY have to add the deleted songs back
to the library AND Shuffle... I suggest you think
about trading up to a Nano which functions more like
you would like the Shuffle to do.
Naah, too many mp3 thingies in the house now as it is. I'll just have to learn to adapt.

Complex Motion file won't open
I have a complicated file that I haven't opened in a while, and now, when I try to open it, it opens fine at first but then after about 10 seconds I get a spinning beach ball forever and the file is unusable. If I do a Command I (get info), the previ
