Changing source drive?
I am importing my cd collection to itunes and it has been working great. I have thousands of cds and this is taking some time and space on my laptop hard drive. So I bought a external hard drive for my laptop. In the itunes preferences i changed the settings to save tracks to my f-drive in file folder i created calling it itunes. I spent several days importing cds to the external hard drive and all was going well until I had to shut down my laptop for travel. When I got home and got on to itunes the preferences changed back to the original c-drive location and now none of the songs could be found. When i changed the source drive to f again it read through all the songs in itunes to be found in f again but this took awhile. I am only a quarter of the way through my collection. Is there a setting that i am missing? I dont want to have to go through this every time i have to shut down my laptop.

You can simply move them.
Be advised, however, that the EXS creates a "link" to where it found the samples the last time, so when the samples are moved, the EXS has to go looking for them, and once it finds them, will re-establish this link to the new location.
It will do this automatically, but it will take a few extra seconds to load an instrument, while it quickly scans the drives it can see.
If you use the EXS a lot, or plan on building your EXS library, a really solid investment would be Redmatica's EXS Manager.

Thank you.I understand that you use iTunes to sync, but somehow didn't use iTunes to delete the file. You will have to use the iTunes interface to delete the file. Go to iTunes/Books, highlight the book, and delete the file. The next time you sync, you should not see the message.

[ATI open source driver, laptop] Screen not refreshing properly.
Hi guys, I've been using ATI Catalyst driver and everything was working well until I decided to switch to open source driver.
Now I have strange problem. My screen is not refreshing properly, I mean, for example I use Facebook and I decide to read something in other card in browser and after I switch cards I can still see some of the facebook page elements, window title does not change. After I move cursor over page elements are refreshing. When I scroll page, even a little bit, it refreshes as well. Or I use terminal, I type some command, press enter and sometimes screen doesn't refresh and I can't see output until I try to resize window or select text (which I can't see...).
Sorry for not the best description, I will give you screens tomorrow because today I can't.

The radeonhd works. It's the radeon driver that doesn't work, I tried no xorg.conf and it still used the vesa driver.

ATI open-source driver and modelines
Since the 8.3x versions of fglrx do not work with custom modelines, I have tried to switch to the open-source driver. However, I still seem to have a problem with modelines. Here is the relevant section in my xorg.conf file:

On a related issue - anyone got the 8.2x fglrx drivers working with the latest kernel and X? Everything was fine with my setup before I upgraded to 2.6.20 and 7.2.0.
EladWhat's changed? If the monitor works fine (without bad resolution or the streaks characteristic of ugly refresh rates), I'd leave it alone. The driver probably has its own ideas about modes. Of course, that's just me.

This option is used to overwrite the detected monitor types. This is only required when driver makes a false detection. The possible monitor types are:

[SOLVED] Compiz, ATI 4850, open source driver: fail?

I'm trying to use compiz with my ATI 4850 and open source driver, but it doesn't work.
Actually I'm under GNOME.
I used KDE and Kwin compositing using OpenGL works flawlessy. Where is the problem?
When I launch compiz I get:

I suppose you aren't using kms.
I have those packages, and compiz is running fine with my hd 4850, but I'm using it as a standalone window manager. I tried it with xfce too, and it was fine. -
Hw to change storage drive frm C to D
how can we change the disk storage drive from C:/ to D: for an HOLAP cube using EIS
ESSBASE INTEGRATION SERVICES.you would have to do it in EAS. In the database properties, you set where the ind and PAG files should be. Stop and restart the database (Note this just does the index and page files not the load rules, calc scripts, etc.). You would then have to export the data, clear out the cube and then reload the data. Then you reload the data and it should be on the new drive. Just changing the drive does not move existing data that is why you have to export and reload. Of course if you have all the data from the source you could just clear the database and reload it

EndSectionOk, seems like you don't use [testing] because in this case x wouldn't even start, because RgbPath in the Section "Files" doesn't exist anymore and has to be removed.
I do always recommend people to disable any kind of options in the Section "Device", if there are problems with the video card. You usually do not have to put radeon neigher into the Section "Module", nor into rc.conf! So remove them, radeon should be loaded because it's set as Driver in the Section "Device"
Your problem with wrong resolution ... I'm not an expert in this, didn't ever have such a problem, but are you sure, that your HorizSync and VertRefresh values are right? -

Hi, my Ipod Schuffle (4 gen) dissapears from windows vista right after I execute Itunes, I've change the drive letter, erase temps in App data file, verified USB drivers, etc... Can someone guide on how to solve this?
If you want the shuffle to be always visible in Windows (outside of iTunes), you need to Enable disk use.
Select the shuffle in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES. Over to the right, select the Summary tab. You should see a checkbox that says Enable disk use. Check it and click Apply.
NOTE: If disk use is enabled, you have to Eject the shuffle in iTunes, BEFORE you physically disconnect it. If disk use is NOT enabled, you can disconnect the shuffle at any time, as long as iTunes is not doing something with it at that moment (such as syncing); the shuffle's light will then be blinking (to indicate DO NOT DISCONNECT).
So, unless you want to use the shuffle like a USB flash drive (carry random files on it), you may want to NOT Enable disk use. -
I have searched online and tried all the possibilities to fix the issues I am having but have sadly been unsuccessful. My ipod is being read as a digital camera, it is not reading on my itunes therefore I cannot sync any music or apps I have purchased. The only solution I couldn't try was to change my drive letter. Main reason being, my device did not show up under the disk management page.
If you have pictures (on your iPod) in the Camera Roll, that may be why the iPod is showing up as a camera. The Camera Roll is where pictures taken on the iPod, screenshots taken on the iPod and pictures saved from Safari are stored.
Copy the pictures from the Camera Roll and put them onto yuor computer. Once you have done that, you can delete the pictures from the Camera Roll and perhaps the iPod will stop showing up as a camera.
The iPod Touch does not have an accessible hard drive, so it will not show up under disk management. -

Lets say Material group is an attribute of 0MATERIAL. You cube contains Material and also Material Group as a separate characteristic (not as navigational attr) becasue you want to store the value of material group as it was during the time the transaction happened.
But here you transactional data coming from the source brings Material values, not values of Material Group. So in the update rule for Material Group, you can specify "Master data attribute of" 0MATERIAL. What the system will do is take the value of 0MATERIAL on this record and populate Material Group taking the value that is present in Material Master data.
So if Material = M100 and Material Group is MG01 in master data, it will supply MG01 to Material Group char in the cube.

Issue in OWB mapping - when changing source and target database

I need help for resolution of the issue I am facing when moving mapping from development environment to QA.
Here is situation,
We develop ETL using one source, one staging and one target database.
In development we use one control_center for Source to staging and another control center staging to target.
All works fine in development.
Now I have created new runtime repository and imported all OWB projects (with full dependencies, exact replica of development). Now I need to change source and staging and target as different database.
I have created new database location connections and defined/attached DB connectors with stage and target location.
Now issues are
1. Two Staging mapping are not able to bound with source table (giving different error
a. One mapping show error for source synonym translation no longer valid when deploying this mapping , but validation comes without any issue)
b. Other mapping show error for source table/object not bound to repository
2. All the target mapping show validation successful, but when deploying says “table or view does not exist”. But tables are exists on source stage and target. (also permission are set correctly for target user to read from staging tables).
Not sure how to proceed from here.

control center is also have that data location.

How do you change the drive that my Iphone backs-up to on my computer? My first attempt to back-up and i received a pop-up stating that I do not have sufficient memory/space, knowing that I have over 120GB of free space...any ideas? thanks

iTunes stores your iPhone backups in the Library folder in your Home folder.
iTunes places the backup files in these places:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/

FIRST, THE REPAIR PERMISSIONS SOLUTION:
Use Disk Utilities on the "Sofware Install and Restore" DVD that came with your computer to set the permissions back to the defaults. Not the MacOSX Installation Disk. (This worked in MacOS 10.3.9)
MY SCREW UP
In my Hard Drive's "Get Info" dialog I switched the permissions of the Owner to my username and all others to no access. I had not yet closed the dialog and decided that it was probably dangerous so I started changing them back. I first changed the owner back to system. It asked for authentication.
After entering my password I assumed that I would be able to go back and change the others as well. Nope! The dialog disappeared, my desktop disappeared and I couldn't do anything. I was locked out.
After ten minutes of the beachball I restarted to the "Panther Installation disk" and tried repairing permissioins using disk utility. Evertime it "lost contact" with the system and would not work. Restarting (without CD) took me to a root user login (black sreen). My username and password did nothing.
THE SOLUTION
I then restarted to the "Software Install and Restore" DVD that came with my computer and used its Disk Utility to repair permissions. IT WORKED! It set permissions back to the default. THANK GOD.
NOTE: I wonder, will using the Install and Restore DVD to repair permissions reset any computer's files to the defaults? Is that a backdoor into someones currently restricted files and folders? (Assuming that you have physical access and the computer specific DVD)Using the Repair Permissions function will not change the permissions on an account's home folder or anything in it, but there are at least two other ways in which someone with a Mac OS X 10.4 installation disk can get access to an account's files or folders unless some or all of those files are encrypted.

This is not the easiest sight to sign up for and submit a question. However my external drive switched from g drive to f. As I downloaded the new version of itunes it won't change from g drive to f drive when I click the button to change. It just says g drive is unavailable to download itunes which I already aware of but it won't let me browse and find the right drive my external drive is on. It won't configure or anything what do I do?
