Changing standard font

Hi, is there a way to permanently change the standard font default from Myriad Pro to a different font? It is sometimes quite tedious to have to go through and change all the fonts, especially in a detailed and complex form.
Thanks

There is no default font per se. Each object has its own set of properties and when you drop the object on the form all of those properties come with it. You can simply drag the object onto your palette change it to what ever defaults you want and drag it back onto the Library tab. From there a wizard will pop up and allow you to create a new object or overwrite the last one .....so you coudl have many TextField object with different sets of params to do what ever you want (I suggest you create your own library as your modified obejcts will get overwritten when you upgrade your designer if you use the same names).
Hope that helps
Paul

Sorry, the font is not user selectable in Safari on iPad, like it might be on a desktop. You can change the font size, but not the actual font.

• Can't Change Standard Font Size in Preferences

I just got a new 24-inch iMac, which is great, but the screen is so big that web pages at the standard size are impossible to read at a comfortable distance. I went into Preferences and clicked on the "Appearance" tab, and set the standard and fixed-width font sizes to what I wanted--and nothing changed. I quit and restarted Safari, quit and restarted the iMac--no change (even though the sizes in the Preferences remained as I had set them). What the... ?
I am using the latest Safari (2.0.4) and OS version (10.4.7). I am running Pith Helmet, but things did not change when I disabled it.
I tried setting the "Never use font sizes smaller than..." to the size I wanted, but there are two problems with that: (1) the font size changes but the line spacing does not, making text seemed crammed together; and (2) it prevents me from sizing down the text if it appears too big on some pages. So that's not an acceptable solution, neither is Command-+'ing every single web page I come to.
I searched the forums for the past year, and found no answers to this. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!

Okay, strange thing here... it seems that Firefox and Mozilla are acting the exact same way, and the universal effect is taking on a strange form.
I made a blog post recently where I had photos, and under each photo I set a caption, which is sized with the HTML command "font size=-1". THOSE lines respond to the font resizing, but the rest of the text does NOT; this has the strange effect of making the main page text small, and the photo captions large--instead of being smaller as intended. I checked a variety of pages and found the same thing: on some pages, all the text followed the new standard font size; on some pages, none of the text changed size; and on many pages, there was a mix of affected and unaffected text.
I am guessing that all of these browsers only change the font size of non-CSS-formatted text or something like that. If so, it seems a bizarre thing to do. Or perhaps there is some setting on my Mac which controls this?
Help!

• Can't Change Standard Font in Safari

Had a self-induced disk crash that I have now recovered from. Fortunately had everything backed up. Unfortunately, I can reset all of my Safari preferences to the original except the Standard Font and Fixed-Width Font on the Safari/Preferences/Appearance tab. When I hit Select for either of these I get nothing. No font list, nothing.
Any ideas?

Might be a duplicate or corrupted font causing this.

Why do some fonts change when converted from Microsoft word to PDF? It starts out as 60s chic and changes to standard font.

Related to the question, I suspect you have licensed fonts that cannot be embedded. Thus, the PDF is using what it is finding to be an equivalent as well as it can guess. Did you check the font list in the PDF?

Assuming you're using Safari, with Safari running open Safari's Preferences (Preferences in the Safari menu). Go to the Appearance tab, and set the ones you want.
Assuming you're using Mail, open Mail's Preferences (Preferences in the Mail menu). Go to the Fonts & Colors tab, and set the ones you want.

• HT3384 Changing the standard font

At first I learned writing with WordPerfect. The last problably 20 years I used MS-Word. Now I have a iMac and I wanted to learn Pages. The first thing I wanted to make a standard was the font, but how I searched, I couldn't find the place where I can change the font Helvetica into for exemple Garamond. Where can I find the place to make the changes.

Pages doesn't have a preference for changing default fonts, probably because fonts are tied to paragraph styles & any document can have a multitude of styles & fonts. You need to create your own default template. Open the blank template & set up your document with the line spacing, margins, headers, etc. as you'd like. Redefine all of the paragraph & character styles to have your desired font. You can set default wrap for any object as well as many other settings. Insert a table, click in it & choose the font, size, color, etc. you want in the fonts panel or format bar. You can do similar changes to inserted objects & text boxes. While you're at it resize the box if you want, set the amount of extra space in the wrap inspector, etc. Delete each text box, object & table after you've set them.
Now, save this document as a template & select that template as default in preferences. If you decide to make any changes to the template down the road, just Save As Template again with the same name & replace the previous version. All of your new documents will have these settings for inserted objects, images & tables. Unfortunately, the settings won't apply to any other templates or "foreign" documents you open with Pages.

• How to change the fonts (permanently) for new (empty) documents in pages

I am searching for a way to change the settings/preferences of Pages / Numbers and Co such, that the standard font is not Helvetic, but a font of my choice. I am used to this from the MS Office products in my job, but want to keep my Mac "clean" and "pure".
I know that I can create and save templates. But somehow I feel, it must be possible to just open an empty/blank document with the font of my choice.
Any idea?
Best regards

• I am not able to change any fonts when i add in titles

I just loaded the 10.0.1 to my MACBOOK PRO and started trying to edit a move. I pulled a standard title over a photo, but when i tried to change fonts and sizes, no luck. there is also a red diagional on thw color box and I don't get any alignment options showing. It almost seems that that function is disabled. I have tried various title with no luck. Is there someting I need to turn on to get that to work? I was having no problem changing title fonts and sizes wih the prevous version of imovie.

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

• How to change the font size from tabs ???

Hi
I found a tip to change the CSS in the apache directory in the forum here.
but i can´t find the directory on my hard disk/oracle directory
i got this version installed:
Oracle Database 10g Express Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Product
PL/SQL Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
CORE 10.2.0.1.0 Production
can i change the font size of tabs/regions etc in any other way??

Hi,
The font size is defined by the style class used for the tab cells (tabs are normally created as cells in a table).
To do this, the simplest solution may be to edit the page template:
1 - Go to Shared Components/Templates
2 - Select the page template(s) that you are using (you will have to do this for each template that you've used that uses tabs)
3 - Scroll down to "Standard Tab Attributes" - you'll see two sections: Current Tab and Non Current Standard Tab.
In Current Tab, you'll have something like:
<a href="#TAB_LINK#" class="t12standardtabcurrent">#TAB_LABEL#</a>
In Non Current Standard Tab, you'll have something like:
<a href="#TAB_LINK#" class="t12standardtabnoncurrent">#TAB_LABEL#</a>
After the class="...." attribute add in style="font-size:12px" (use whatever px value you want)
4 - You should repeat the process for Current Parent Tab and Non Current Parent Tab as these contain the same settings
5 - Apply your changes
Regards

• Change Labels font size

How to change the font size of labels, region header, page header...?

Hello,
The easiest way is to add link a custom css file to override the standard fonts in the themes that are provided. Or if it's just a few pages and minor changes just add a custom style tag in the page header.
If you don't know anything about css take a look at this page.

• Change the font size in the ABAP report

Dear all,
Does anybody know how to change the font size in abap report.
Regards,
Luke

Hi,
Font size in ABA reports can be changed using PRINT-CONTROL COMMANDS. Here i provide you the code and description of using print commands to change the font size.
Be aware that the PRINT-CONTROL is not supported in SAP Enterprise 4.7
For your information, SAP cannot provide any support to error caused by print control command
(see SAP OSS notes 66478).
* Parameters for function below should be taken from your printer
* configuration in SAP - check SPAD transaction -
* standard print control
* print-control position 1 function: 'CI006', 'SF015'.
* Submitted by : SAP Basis, ABAP Programming and Other IMG Stuff
*                http://www.sap-img.com
REPORT ZFONT NO STANDARD PAGE HEADING LINE-SIZE 80 LINE-COUNT 65.
* Start of print-control
NEW-PAGE PRINT ON.
PRINT-CONTROL FUNCTION 'SF000'.
WRITE: / 'This is CPI 20'.
SKIP.
PRINT-CONTROL FUNCTION 'SF020'.
WRITE: / 'This is CPI 6'.
SKIP.
PRINT-CONTROL FUNCTION 'SF008'.
WRITE: / 'This is CPI 12'.
* Depending on your SAP printer device, this may also work
PRINT-CONTROL FONT 1 LPI 6.
* you can try to change font and LPI numbers
WRITE: / 'font 1 lpi 6'.
PRINT-CONTROL FONT 2 LPI 6.
WRITE: / 'font 2 lpi 6'.
PRINT-CONTROL FONT 3 LPI 6.
WRITE: / 'font 3 lpi 6'.
* End of print-control
NEW-PAGE PRINT OFF.
*--- End of Program
Hope this solves your problem.
Thank you,
Pavan.

• Changing the font size does not work with Textarea with HTML Editor

If you change the font size in the text area of a "Textarea with HTML Editor" item it does not work. I've searched the forum and the only solution I've seen is to use an HTML editor foriegn to APEX. Does anyone have a better solution? Thanks, Elizabeth

I'm having a similar issue except with HTML Editor Standard.
What I'm doing is allow someone to write to an HTML Editor Standard field and then an HTML marked up text is saved to a db CLOB column. In another page, I reference this DB column and show it in an HTML Region (I do a computation Before Regions for a hidden item that writes out the html with "htp.p")
Everything shows up fine EXCEPT the font tags and headings. I'm finding that the HTML Region sets the font size only with the < d i v s t y l e="font-size: large" >and NOT < f o n t size:6 >. When the HTML Editor renders the user's text input, any size changes are made with the < f o n t > tag, which is depreciated anyways, and not with "style". That's why the size is not showing up.
I can't really figure out why the headings aren't showing up except maybe the css style in the region is overridding it...
Is there another APEX item type like HTML Editor (which uses FCKEditor) that I can use, or maybe another approach to remedy this issue? Or maybe this post calls for an enhancement with the HTML Editor?{size}{size}
