Changing sub-page links images

Is there any way to change the image displayed for items in a sub-page link region? Actually I get only a folder image, but I would like to use another image. If I use the same image for the List of Objects of each page, I can't view the display name any more.
I am not sure of the version I am working on (believe it or not), but we are using the aplication server of the version 10g.

We have done this an replaced tfold.gif with a 1 pixel transparent image. But what we have found is that Portal places two non-breaking spaces either side of it, which means the heading nevers lines up with any other text and we can't amend this using the stylesheets.
Is there any way of switching off the non-breaking spaces?
PS It also seems to add after lots of other places such as subbanners etc.

How do I change the user linked image

In the user profile there is a specified "linked" image. In my case it is the image that was created when my user ID was first established. I'd love to change it to a better image because evidently it gets linked with my messages etc. I'm running Yosemite (OS 10.10.1) on a relatively new iMac

That is precisely what I'd like to do but I cannot figure out how to do it. When I select the "linked" tab a little window with a matrix of squares appears. One (upper left) has the offending image. It can be "edited" but that seems limited to changing the brightness, zoom or something with a slider bar below. I can't delete it or replace it. I can't figure out how to populate the other empty square with images (I'm only guessing that is what they are there for). I tried drag-and-drop and copy paste without any evident action happening. I'm trying to do exactly what you advise, but I'm lost.

Way to change all page links to 'fit page' view?

Hi, I'm working on a PDF document which has about 130 pages. The person who initially created all the index page links via a clickable menu item set the page view to a custom one which means the pages show at varying sizes when clicked and the page displayed. I want them all to be 'fit page' but as far as I know to do that I'm going to have to edit each link via properties and change it manually.

No, there is no simple way to change all pages at once. I use exactly the same method as you are doing now. Having proper user definable templates is on my wish list for future releases of iWeb.

I changed home page link for the public user to some other page. When I click on it as a portal admin, I go to the same page, even my login page has changed to it.
Why is this so ?

I also found another way of doing this through a dynamic page with JavaScript.
You can specify the Frame driving URL link to point to a dynamic page which has the following code...

Can't change a linked image???

I have a lot left to learn in Dreamweaver but linking images I've done alot, I hope someone can help me on what I'm doing wrong. The linked image won't let me change links. Here is the home page http://kmmcement.com/. The bottom right picture under click to view slideshow is linked to slideshow.html. I changed the slideshow and named the new one ss.html. When I right click the picture and choose Change Link and select my new ss.html, it does not change it in the code. I tried manually to change it in the code and publish, but the new page won't load up (although when I preview the page, it loads fine.)
The only thing I've done differently on this site is that I finally learned to get the bottom navigation links to work without looking jumpy and jittery when clicking or rolling over them, by going to Modify - Page Properties and choosing links and set them up there (basic that I should've learned awhile ago). I didn't do the navigation bar until last, so would that have anything to do with not being able to change the link? If so, then how can I change it to where only the bottom navigation has it's own style as I'm sure there's going to be alot more links I'm going to be adding.

Is it possible to change the page of a linked PDF without relinking?

Is it possible to change the page of a linked PDF without relinking and going through the import options?
I'm trying to import seveeral pages of the same PDF. The process would be quickest if I could import it once, then duplicate the image box a number of times, then just change the page number each image box is linking to.
At the moment I'm having to relink (or place), then go through Import Options, then choose the page - it's a long process that feels like it should be quicker.
Any ideas?

The short answer is no, that's not possible, but it IS possible to import multiple pages at one time.
My favorite script for this is from Scott Zanelli: InDesignSecrets » Blog Archive » Zanelli Releases MultiPageImporter for Importing both PDF and INDD Files, but there's also a sample script included with ID.

Some elements of my iweb site do not display in Internet Explorer. firefox and Safari are fine. Specifically, video thumbprint wgich links to a sub page where the video is located is missing.

IE can't see images (thumbprint links to sub pages) on my album page. tried removing border around image as suggested by Old Toad. sorry, didn't work.

Creating Thumbnails for web page links to larger images.

I want to create thumbnail images for linking to web page linking to enlargements. I'm using PhotoShop Elements 2.0 on a Dell 2400, XP Home Edition with 512mb RAM and 35gb storage available.
The language I read in help sections doesn't addressed the issue I want help with. I believe it addresses saving thumbnails for Windows and Mac using .tiff or .psd format, not the .jpg or .gif I need. It seemed like there should be a way to change the thumbnail format. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You can use the ' Web Photo gallery ' as Jodi suggested for a large
number of images or,
Open your image, click the bar at the top of the displayed image &
reset the size to what you want, then 'File', 'Save for Web' & save as
.jpg or .gif. .jpg gives more options for reducing file size so that
is what I use. Close the image without saving

CNET links work on home page but sub pages require a refresh

Ever since the last update, when I'm reading the main page on CNET news site everything works fine. When I click on a link to an article a sub page comes up but none of the comment links on that page will work (for example the comment links and "like" links at the bottom of the page). The normal links to other articles seem to work.
If you want to comment or click a "like" link you have to refresh the page. This is FF 3.6.11 on Windows XP 32 bit.
This was not an issue until FF was last updated.

Although you are correct in that booting the browser in safe mode did correct the issue, I had no desire to start troubleshooting what addon or plugin was responsible for the issue. I did update Java.
Today there was another update for FF, and when this update was done the issue was corrected. Because of this, and since I really don't have time to be troubleshooting browser issues, I have disabled all the automatic updates in all the FF browsers in our shop, and at home. I am only going to update them if there is a significant change. I realize this may be a security issue, however I just cannot spend the time required to correct issues caused by browser updates. Again, I realize issues can be caused by the plugins not "following the rules" and not being updated but even so I cannot justify spending huge amounts of time correcting issues that would not happen if I did not update the browser.
Thanks for your time helping me with this problem. I will not be updating any more unless I read about a serious problem that has to be corrected.

Can I alter the properties of an individual link on a HTML page without changing the other links?

I have a contact page created in Dreamweaver and have created an email link to launch Outlook when clicked on. However, all the links in my design have been set a certain way, i.e. white text knocked out of darker background. My email link however, is on white background so you can't see it against the white. I want to go in and simply change the color property of the email link without changing the other link colours on the page. I've tried but without luck. Is this possible to do?

FM9/Win - Changing linked image file?

I can do what I want to do in InDesign, QuarkXpress, and PageMaker, but for some reason this functionality appears to be absent in FrameMaker, which is utterly dain bramaged.
I have a placed image in multiple places in a FrameMaker document. The image is placed by reference, not embedded. I now want to link to a different graphic (annual updates).
Re-placing the image a zillion times is not an option, as the sizing and position is already set. I just want to change what FrameMaker is linking to.
For the life of me, I cannot find where or even if, I can do this.
The inelegant solution would be to simply move or rename the currently-linked-to file on the hard drive, and rename the new graphic to the same name as the old one. I do not like that option at all, as there are some instances in other documents that I still wish to link to the old image file.
Is FrameMaker's link handling really this clumsy and archaic? In the other applications I refer to above, I would either go to a links palette and change the destination or right-click on an image and relink it. In FrameMaker, the "Object Properties" dialog appears to only report the location of the referenced file, not allow you to change it.
What gives?

To my knowledge, there is nothing in FrameMaker like there is in InDesign that allows you to relink an image directly, or even indirectly via a link list. I also have looked and not found anything. There is a link menu item somewhere but I have never figured out what it does.
There is a plugin by Bruce Foster that is used to archive a book or document and its linked image files and text insets. When you run it, the plugin COPIES the book file and ALL the files associated with it into another folder that you specify, and then readjusts all the links among these files to point to the copied files. It puts all graphics files into one subfolder and all text insets into another. So, once you get your book where you want it, with no future changes, run the archive, and then use the files and book in the archive folder to print or do whatever you need to do in the future.
The downside is that you have two sets of files to manage, but if the archived set is rarely or never edited or updated, then all is well.

Changing the linked image for the Image Matte Key doesn't work

When I change the linked image for the Image Matte Key in Photoshop, the link does not change in my Premiere Pro CS6. Sometimes it takes 2-3 times going into the Image Matte Key setting and locating the new matte in Explorer (each time having to re-locate the folder that the matte is in) to see it within the premier monitor. Any suggestions?

The commands work correctly here on the same OS etc: Cycle Locators jump to the next/prev marker and the Playhead jumps to the Start of the Marker.
Default KC are Control Command +Arrow Left/right

Difficulties displaying images and Page Link

Item Type "Page Link" is visible in the drop down list for Content Item Types, but after selecting a valid image, the image does not show up on the portal page. Page group properties also have "Page Link" as a visible item type. The same behaviour is noted for "Image" and "Simple Image".
Any ideas?

Edit the Region properties that contain the image item. On the Attributes Tab of the region properties, ensure the image attribute has been shuttled over to the right. This could cause the problem.

Going to change password page from link in application

We don't intend to give our users access to the OID self-service console, but we do want a "change password" button in the SSO partner app. I've written a change password page according to spec and it's plugged into the configuration database, but the question is, how do I invoke it from a link?

What that says is "The WWSSSO_APP_USER_MGR.CHANGE_PASSWORD routine is invoked", which, I presumed, in this context means using the URL I found.
As I said, I can't see how to do this from an external site without making a nasty hole in the firewall. How would you "invoke" WWSSSO_APP_USER_MGR.CHANGE_PASSWORD from a servlet or the like?
The only idea I could come up with is for the servlet to copy the SSO headers an make it's own URLConnection to the directory interface. That seems improbably clumbsy, and would require me to change the password change page to (in order to relay the results in a similar fashion).

Dropdown list to change image field linked image?

I am quite new in Designer but I have to complete a job and I don't find the solution.
I try to update on a form an image field using the value of a dropdown box and a "if" script.
I use linked images (not embedded ones) and try using a script calling the image Field. value. image. href property.
The property is well updated as export to xml displays well the new href value but the image is not displayed as something was missing to activate it.

Rather simple (don't laugh at it) but it doesn't work.

Hi Philippe,
Have a look at this blog, http://blogs.adobe.com/formfeed/2009/11/linked_vs_embedded_template_im.html, it turns out that both linked and embedded images are stored in the PDF but just in different ways. So updating the href at run time will have no effect.
If you are not in a possition to store all the images in the PDF at design time then you might have to look at setting up a webservice to access them on a server.
