Changing Text Headings in Web Report

Hi SDN,
Can you please assist us in this scenario, as i have not worked with Table Interface Class previously, and if you can help out with the steps it would be much appreciated.
We have created a query which uses 2 structures in the Rows area. To this extent, we have dragged the fiscal year period characteristic in the column area.
Rather than being able to use a 3rd structure, we now have in the columns area
JUN 2006 | JUL 2006..... | DEC 2006
What we would like to see instead is:
JUN 2006 | JUL 2006..... | DEC 2006
Actual Forecast Forecast
If you can provide sample code and or steps to achieve this situation, it would assist us greatly.

Time delay on seeing the changed data onto the webi reports

Hello,
I'm new to BOBJ and was hoping someone can help me with adjusting the time delay the reflects the changed data to the Webi reports.
I have a user that would update a form on our EP. Afterward, she would have to wait a while before she can see the changed data on our Webi reports.
can you please tell me the default time lag and show me where I can change it if required?

Our BO is 3.1 SP4.
We just implemented PBF (Public Budget Formulation) and our forms are running on NWCE server. It's being written to our backend BW 7.01 SP8 server. I was told by our users that after she updates some new information on the form, it takes a while before she can see it on the reports. My understanding was the universe should see the updated data from our BW immediately after they refresh. Just as you both mentioned. But according to the users, its not. there's a time delay.
I'm going to test this myself if there's a delay. In the meantime and suggestion would be helpful.

Repeating row texts when exporting web report to Excel

Dear all,
When exporting a web report (including a structure/hierarchy) to Excel (via the 'export to excel button), the row texts (e.g. balance sheet texts) appear twice (column A and B)in the Excel result.
When using the web context menu 'Export to Excel' this issue does not occur.
I am using a BW 3.5 system which has been upgraded to support pack 16.
I assume it is the combination of the structure and the 'export to excel' functionality that does not match up, because when I switch off the hierarchy functionality in the web report query properties, the export to excel does not give me any problems.
Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

Did you write that software, COTS package called Medgate?
If not then ask that company for support. No one here would know how to fix it. They are using the CR RDC report engine.

How to change number format in web reports

Hi, Experts,
    Simple question, if I want to change the number format on web report as following
. . . . . . . . Actual
. . . . . . . . *1000SGD
new order   .   341.5
sales       .   567.45
if I click "Actual" then select properties, set data format from "in 1000" & "0" to "in 1" & "0.00", nothing changed in web report after refresh.
if i click one number (for example: 341.5) or "New order" to set data format from "in 1000" & "0" to "in 1" & "0.00", only this row's format is changed, others row still keep old format.
how to change whole column's data format at once setting?

Hi,
Logout and login may help you and also Delete the session in SM04 before re login. Some times system will not do complete refresh of data even though you select refresh button.

I am woking in Xcelsius Dashboard. I used WebI approach for creating dashboard. I have two customers which one customer has SAP and another customer does not have SAP. so intially I have used Excell as data source. now I want to replace the Excel with BI Queries.Both having same structure.while replacing I faced the following problem.
I created one WebI report based on Excel as data source that has two Queries(Two universes).I want to replace excel based universe with BI query based universe.If I change the universe in an one query ,the univese is changed in an another query also. How can I replace two different universes that based on BI queries with existing universes ?
How can i resolve the problem?

As Thomas mentioned, changing one Data Provider causes the other Data Provider to get changed as well -- this is a problem for trying to change the universe on one tab and the system automatically goes and goofs up the other tab(s) as well. I'm still on XI R2 and the problem happens so maybe someone with XI 3.1 or higher loaded can confirm that this unwanted occurrence has been cleared up or not.

Changes made in the web report selection scree do not appear on webpage.

I want to add 2 checkboxes on a web page of a report. I have done the changes in R/3 ABAP report (Added checkboxes on selection screen) and also released the report for internet using SMW0 transaction. But these two checkboxes are not appearing on the web page in internet explorer.
Whenever I try to access the URL
http://www.abc.com/scripts/wgate?~service=webrfc&_FUNCTION=WWW_GET_SELSCREEN&_REPORT=ZWR_PO_DELIVERY&_TEMPLATE=po_selscreen
it redirects it to the URL below
http://www.abc.com/scripts/po.asp?SESSION=PRD:ebgwebap:0000.00f5.7e1af317.e4db&SELD_EINDT_LOW=26.04.2008&SELD_BEDAT_LOW=01.04.2007&SELD_BEDAT_HIGH=26.02.2008
What should I do so that these two checkboxes would start appearing on the webpage?

thats difficult to say without seeing the code in the template.
when you dont supply any _tempate value in the url, the system by default uses
WEBREPORTING_SELSCREEN template.
your po_selscreen may be a copy of this and modified to change the look and feel or something like that. compare these two and see whats causing the selscreen from appearing completely

Change of image in web reports (MIME repository : SE80)

Hello,
i want to replace company logo in web reports.
i have changed the logo (image) through MIME repository in SE80 transaction, but i am unable to see the unchanged logo on portal/web reports.
What can be the issue. Is there any setting anywhere that needs to be done?

Please check the Image name like
supported ex:
   "company_logo.jpg"
Not supported Example:
   "company logo.jpg"
   "company_logo.JPG"
   "Company_Logo.Jpg"
Concerning the missing images in the WAD please check, if the images
are available in the Mime Repository:
Transaction SE80 -> MIME Repository -> SAP -> BW -> BEx ->
Publisher -> GIFS -> WebItem_Previews -> e.g. "broadcast_prev.gif"

Changing values in the web report

Hi All,
For ex. I have the following scenario.
I have a web report in which I have a table item which is displaying the query result. The user wants to have a facility to change the Key Figs, if they want, directly on the report, it means when the user runs the web report and if he says something to be changed, he will directly change the value on the report and will click something like a button to save the changed value back in the infoprovider.
Is this something possible?I came to know that we can do this sort of things using BSP but I am not sure how to make the table item to accept some changes and how to link to a BSP Program.

If you want to know if it is possible , here's how...
1. Use a BPS layout ...
2. Create a BSP layout for the same
option 2 :
Create a BSP page which has a textbox for accepting the value and a submit button.
On clicking the submit button , based on the parameters selected by the user , update the ODS. Remember you cannot update the cube because it does not have overwrite capability. However , declare the cube as an export datasource and then call the function module for the data source and push in the data for the same inside the BSP page.

Dynamic change of headings in SQL Report

Can you dynamically change a reports Column Heading Text. I want a selected value from the database to become 1 of the column headings.

If you are ready to take bit of trouble and modify the generated package body. you can try the following.
1. go to the procedure show_internal in the generated package body.
2. you will see PORTAL30.wwv_user_utilities.add_other_arguments(
3. 'p_other_args' parameter has "_col_headings" as one of the values.
4. the corresponding 'p_other_vals' values will show up in the report column heading. [ an example is PORTAL30.wwv_user_lang.lang('Empno') ]
So if you can pass your 'dynamic' heading values here, you can change the report heading dynamically.

Change Column Headings in ALV Report Using OO

I tried to change the column names but it still takes the column names from the DDIC.

Hey hello,
you have to change short medium and log text
look at this:
gr_columns = (Table got from factory)->get_columns( ).
gr_column = gr_columns->get_column('NAme').
gr_column->set_long_text('new name long').
gr_column->set_medium_text('new name medium').
gr_column->set_short_text('new name short ).

Changing Text on a web page not using textbox

Hi I am new to programming in Javascript and am just needing a bit of a hand using an onChange event to change some normal text in the middle of a web page. The exmaple is if you have a text box that you can enter in a dollar amount and then once you click out side of the box it will change the total at the bottom of the web page (which is in noraml text) I don't want to put the total at the bottom into a form box to make this work.

Display of Hierarchy Nodes as Medium Text in Web Report

Hello everyone,
Does anybody know how to display the hierarchy nodes as medium text instead of short text (default) in web report?
I know it is possible to change the display setting directly (by right clicking on hierarchy node > properties) from the web report.
However, I would love to know if there is any other way to change the settings such as through Query designer or Hierarchy maintenance in SAP GUI so that users do not need to change the display settings every time they view the web report.

What if a Hierarchy is created under an InfoObject? How can I change the Text view of each name of the Hierarchy nodes?
In Query Designer, I tried to change the Text View to Long but it only affects the text of the InfoObject but not the Hierarchy nodes.
I tried the 2nd suggestion too. I only can find the BEx description for the InfoObject but not the Hierarchy nodes.
It would be great if anyone could tell me how to do so.

Changing Webi Report Data Provider With Prompt

I am trying to change Data Source of a Webi Report using RESTful Web Services. Fo this I have referred code on Changing Dataproviders for a Webi Report using RESTful Web Services Post.
I am able to change data source for Webi Reports without Prompts but it is not working for Webi Reports with Prompts.
Can anybody help me??

Hello Swapnil,
In order to perform a change data source, you have to answer the prompts (like in the regular Webi UI). In this kind of case, RESTful webservice will send back the list of parameters needed after you submitted your target mappings. Then, you have to answer prompts and send all the information (mappings + prompts answers).
Does it make sense?

Change Texts on the Submit Expense Report Screen

Hi all,
I've tried to introduce a text using new functionality provided in last upgrade "Change Texts on the Submit Expense Report Screen" in order to be displayed when an expense report is sent for approval, but it doesn't work.
Do you know if this functionality is working? If it is working properly, could you explain me how I have to configure this to display the text?

just checked it in the test system - it works fine. Please note that these settings may be country version spesific. To change the text:
open the fine tuning activity 'Change Texts on Submit Expense Report Screen'
click 'Add Row' in General Use block - new row added and a country version can be selected (if active), this field can be also empty - then the entry is relevant for generic country version. Optionaly provide a description.
click 'Create and Edit Texts'. Here the user can define a disclaimer text per language using 'Add Row' and entering the language as code (EN, DE etc)
at the end of activity save the changes using 'Save and Close'
Depending on country version and logon language the travelelr will see now specific dissclaimer text.

Error while refreshing WEBi Report : Supplied XML Invalid

Hi,
I have a universe buit on BI query in production environment.
I changed the query in BI directly in PRD. The only chnage i did was ,unhide the keyfigure which was hidden originally as i wanted to see the data it brings in BEx analyzer.
Then i agian chaged that key figure to Hidden.
now the WEBi reports which are built on the universe which uses this bi qury is not getting refreshed.
It gives the error : Supplies XML invalid
I refreshed the Universe and Parsed it.there was 1 parsing erroe in Filter.Still i exported the universe.
Now generally the WEBI reports start working after re exporting the universe, but this time it is not working.
What can be done in this case.???
I dont think it is because of parsing error as i have exported the same universe earlier with same error and reports worked fine that time.
following is in the WHERE section of the filter:

How you tried editing Webi report ?
Its possible that your changes to Bex query while propagated to Universe after structure refresh, have changed some of the objects, and that change is not in Webi report yet, you'll need to edit it and maybe re-map objects.....
