Changing the behavior of a XCelsius 2008 Dashboard

Hello all,
i have a problem with the coded behavior of a dashboard in xcelsius 2008.
The main scene is:
there is an edit-field on the surface and a lot of checkboxes
The user enters an internal number into the edit and then klicks on an checkbox to start a crystal-report
this is the actual version and its ok: report starts and the entered number is given as a parameter to the report (via open-document)
But the new requierement is, that if the user has clicked several checkboxes (and on the surface you can see several checkmarks) to start several reports and then reenter the given number in the editfield, all previous checkmarks had to be cleared on the canvas.
I tried this in excel but i allways get a circular reference while trying to memorize the first number for a comparison with the next input.
Perhaps it is more logical problem, but as a beginner on xcelsius i dont know much about the possibilities of coding within the excelshhet - is it possible to use vba-scripting for this?
because if i use only formulas i can't solve this problem/requirement.

The reset-button is also in the Dashboard, but the idea was, that this action can be implemented, so that the user only has to insert numbers without clicking another element (the reset button) It was an idea of comfort to handle this implicitly.

Create Archive, how to change the behavior of the default file naming?

From an earlier post on archiving via the contextual menu in the Mac OS X Finder:
"If you archive a single item, the archived file has the name of the original item with a ".zip" extension. If you archive multiple items at once, the archived file is called Archive.zip."
Is there a way to change the behavior of this?
I ask because I want to archive a single file, say "photo.psd" and when I do I get an archive called "photo.psd.zip" - is there a way to create an archive from the contextual menu and have the original file extension be appended? - in this case I would want "photo.zip" to be the end result.
Also, is there a way to change the behavior of archiving multiple files? To, say, create a differently named file afterwards instead of the default "Archive.zip" - perhaps something a little more descriptive but standard, like "YourFilesCompressed.zip" - something that would stay the same across each archive creation.
Thanks, I've been manually renaming after all create-archive's. And I do realize other applications could probably do this, but I'm thinking there must be a way to do this in the finder, no? A terminal command? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Try looking at the documentation for the ditto and zip Terminal commands.

we created Named Criteria with bind viriable, then I drag as Query Panel to the page, then I drag the same VO to the page as ADF Form. in the same form I create three bottons ( Delete,Insert,Update)
the question is when I create record in the form using Insert botton then I want to cancel this action and I want to click on search botton the from give that some fields in ADF from are requird so how to avoid that. or how can I change the behavior of search button .

Changing the behavior of LOV's ...???

Is it possible to change the behavior / appearance of LOV objects in Forms 6i and /or Forms10g..., or are they considered as 'black box'..????
For example , is it possible to add two text fields in the upper side of the lov window titled as "Find" (the combination of the content of the first text field and/or the content of the second one...) , or to do the order of the displayed records dynamically as they appeared according to the first / second e.t.c. field ... or to order them in ascending or descending ....

I just signed up and downloaded the eval version of xcelsius 2008 and It requires a keycode for install but I cannot find one in the email that they sent to me.

Trial versions of Xcelsius 2008 have a trial keycode embedded in them. You will be prompted everytime you open the trial version, but you can continue to use Xcelsius until your trial period expires.

Xcelsius 2008 Dashboard thrugh NWBC

Dear All
We have the following environment.
1. SAP production Server - R3 Environment (No BW, No Open Doc)
2. We hae Crystal Report 2008 SP5
3. We have Xcelsius 2008
We developed couple of Dashboards using Xcelsius by directly connecting to R3 using Web services.
The Dashboards are woking fine.
Now we like to put these dashboards in the NWBC Custom Pages.
Using PFCG - we configured page layouts. However, We are not able to get those Dashboards into it. I alredy uploaded the Dashboards into SAP mime objects. (using SE80).
Searched to fine out and get some documetns but it does not match with the steps they have showned on it, hence not able to achive...
Can someone help me to get me the Steps to achive this. ( ECC 6.0 EHP5)

Change the behavior for movement type 309 - Account post PRD

Dear friends ,
We need to transfer material to material using movement type 309.
These material are using price control "S".
When we transfer from material A to material B the price difference stay stopped in the PRD account.
We need to revaluate the material B automatically and not let the price difference stopped in the PRD... when we run the Material Costs..via Material ledger.
Does anyone knows a way to change this behavior ?

One more thing...
We cannot change the valuation from S to V in the material B.
Regarding the PRD postings... when the Controlling team runs the Material Ledger the price for material B should be changed/updated automatically, Am I right ?
And then the PRD account must be cleared...
Or I continue to do the MR22 manuall...or better... create an Abap program to run automatically clearing the PRD posting agains't the material via MR22 to correct the cost of this material.

Problem in starting the evaluation version of Xcelsius 2008

Hi,
I downloaded the Xcelsius 2008 free trial pack yesterday. I have admin rights to my PC so I was able to install the program. But when I tried to start the program (both in Start->Programs->Xcelsius->Xcelsius 2008 and in the respective folder on my C: drive) I get this message:
"C:\program files\businessobjects2008\xcelsius\xcelsius.exe
This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem".
I already tried de-installing and then re-installing but that did not work out.
I would really appreciate if someone could help me on this.

Can you change the behavior of the parameter add " " arrow

Hi,
I'm using Crystal Reports 2008 to print product labels with barcodes. I have a parameter for the serial number that I scan barcodes to enter in the serial number into the Selected Values box, but I have to hit the ">" add arrow after each scan. I'm trying to achieve scanning each barcode and adding the number to the Selected Values box without having to hit the arrow button each time.
I changed the scanner to do a carriage return after each scan, but that just acted like the "Enter" button and closed the parameter window without adding it to the Selected Values list.
Is there a way in the registry, or somewhere else, to change the add ">" arrow button functionality to recognize a carriage return as the "add" function in the parameter window?

This probably isn't considered "legit" by SAP/BO, but perhaps you could change the HTML of the page and define a "hot key" for the ">" button, then program the scanner to add the hot key to the scan output. I haven't looked at the page's HTML, so this may not be possible (and it's probably not desirable)...

I have followed the below steps which did not cause any issue to my server. Have a full latest backup and then follow the below steps.
Create a start up batch file that includes all the commands you want.
Then edit the registry to point to your start up file.

How can I change the behavior of the pulldown history list?

When you click on the little down arrow between the star and the clockwise arrow on the address bar, it seems to list the previously viewed websites in some kind of frequency of access order.
Is there a way to have this pulldown work like IE does? That is, show me the last 20ish sites I typed in without regard to how often I have visited the site?

If you want to get 20 sites in the address/location bar (when you click on the little down arrow between the star and the clockwise arrow) go to [http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:config About:config] , find [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser.urlbar.maxRichResults browser.urlbar.maxRichResults] and change the value to '''20''' (right click on it, select modify and put the value you want), exit firefox and restart it.

How does Outlook 365 prioritize photos? And how do you change the behavior? Running Exchange

Hello all..first time poster.
So I have Office 365 installed. Running the owa Outlook and the desktop verison at the same time. Outlook 2013 servers from Microsoft. What I noticed is that changes to some don't affect others:
On the owa version, I had to activate both Linkedin and Facebook connectors, even though they were already loaded and operational in the Outlook desktop version..which I thought was strange. I am also running Exchange off the Microsoft servers.
So to the question... On the desktop Outlook version, when I click on a contact, View Source:
1)
Outlook (Contacts, *** Email address is removed for privacy ***)
Facebook
Linkedin
(this scenario is pulling the Facebook photo although I have a different photo assign in Outlook)
2)

Linkedin
(this scenario pulls the Linedkin photo although I have a different picture assigned to it thru Contacts)
3)
Facebook
Linkedin
(this is pulling the facebook photo and not the linkedin photo)
Now if I go out to OWA:
1) Above is actually showing the LinkedIn photo (I also notice I have 3 linked profiles to this.. all 3 are LinkedIn profiles)
2) I show a Linkedin photo (I also have linked: Contacts, LinkedIn, LinkedIn)
3) I show a LinkedIn photo (I also have 2 other linkedin contacts linked to this contact)
So I'm guessing that the contacts that have multiple LinkedIn profiles linked to them were because of some duplicate recordes that occurred or it could be because I have my regular work profile for a contact and they had a different e-mail address they are
using for Facebook and LinkedIn possibly?
How can I change each contact so I can select their photo for 1) Contacts, *** Email address is removed for privacy *** (where I loaded a local picture of them) vs. using their LinkedIn photo vs. their Facebook photo?
Also, is there any 3rd party app or different way to increase the quality of LinkedIn and Facebook photos?

Hmmm, I don't really see how to do it there, since that is for assigning keyboard shortcuts for menu functions.

Can i change the behavior of the character menu so that the list begins with the current font selected and not at the beginning of the list?

Im struggling with the way the font selection tab works in the character menu.
When i scroll down the list and select minion halfway down the list, the next time i click on the font tab, the list starts back at the top of the list making me scroll down the list every time i want to look for a font.
Can anyone offer some suggestions here?

You can't do it exactly the way you want, but if you have InDesign CC or CC 2014, you can set fonts in the Character panel or Control panel Type menu to be Favorites. Click the "star" beside a font to set it as a favorite. Then at the top of the menu, click the "star" filter to show favorites in your list instead of a list of all the fonts.
