Changing The Blue Lightning Bolt

For those of us who are creating content exclusively for distribution to clients and in-house staff via acrobat.com and the Content Viewer app, the Blue Lightning Bolt is a visual annoyance.
How's about an option to either NOT have it displayed, or at least have a blue stroke around the thumbnail so that our original graphic isn't disturbed?

I'm pleased to hear that Pro and Enterprise users are happy with the arrangement and that the Blue Lightning Bolt is so helpful.
It's just rather stunning that someone with the intelligence to create a document using InDesign and DPS gets confused over the addition of a little asterisk in the folio title to denote IN PROGRESS or UNPUBLISHED.
Even a little lightning bold or red A or whatever - BELOW the folio title - would have sufficed.
Seriously.  Totally lame.  Non-Pro/Enterprise account holders getting the shaft.  That's all this is, really.
I can't wait to see what else is implemented by Pro/Enterprise account holders at the expense of the rest of us...
Maybe a GIANT BLUE LIGHTNING BOLT ON EVERY PAGE IN THE FOLIO!!!!!

  • Is the Blue Lightning Bolt here to stay....?

I mean, honestly.  Is the Blue Lightning Bolt just Adobe's way of punishing those who aren't on the DPS Pro or Enterprise plan?  Can the thing get any bigger?    Does it get smaller if you buy the acrobat.com subscription plan?  lol.  It's like the digital version of The Scarlet Letter.    Why not just have the entire thumbnail be some text that says "Cheapskate".  Here's hoping that it gets removed.  I'd love to hear any explanation at all as to what the purpose is of the Blue Lightning Bolt Banner - other than to identify that the stuff I make isn't on the elite Pro/Enterprise plan.  Why have anything at all?

  • New CC update (10/6/14) change the Blue color????

I appreciate the hardwork involved in updating the apps, but the light blue on grey isn't cuttin' it for my eyes.  Is there a way to change it?  I can't seem to find a setting in Prefs > Appearances.

I'm cross posting this info from the Premier thread about the same subject - sorry about that... hope it's useful.
Instructions for changing the hot text colour in After Effects 2014 on Mac OSX.
First quit your favourite design and animation program.
Next in the finder press on the ‘Go’ menu whilst holding down the ‘alt’ key.
    Select ‘Library’
Navigate to ‘Adobe After Effects 13.0 Prefs.txt’ in this location:
    /Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.AdobePremierePro.plist
Drag a back up copy of this text file onto your desktop by holding the ‘alt’ key before dragging,
Open the file in TextEdit and use Edit>Find>Find…
Type in ‘hot’ and you should find this:
    "Hot Text Color (0xAaRrGgBb)" = "0xffc69100"
      "Hot Text Color Override? (1 or 0)" = 00
First change the colour override to 01 instead of 00, meaning yes instead of no.
The last 6 characters are c69100. They simply represent a hex colour value for in this case yellow text (because I’m in AE 2014 with yellow text).
Change this text to a colour value chosen in Photoshop, something like “00ff4e” for a bright green. Look for the hex values in the colour picker preceded with a # symbol.
This gives you: "Hot Text Color (0xAaRrGgBb)" = "0xff00ff4e"
Save the file and restart AE.
This is tested for the release named After Effects CC (2014).
If you want to change the blue text in the October 2014 release please give this technique a go and tell me if it works!

  • Why are some "caf" files colored green and some blue. I need to change the blue (audio) file to a green one so that I can print the sheet music.

I've been trying for days to convert blue audio files (caf in garageband) to green files, so that I can print out the sheet music for that file. I've converted the "caf" file to mp3, wav, aiff, even midi - but nothing will load in garageband as a green file. I get them to load as blue audio files but not as green files. I know the difference between the blue and green files, but why do they both have "caf" extensions? I am trying to conver "piano ballad.caf" to something that will show up as a green caf in garageband. I can't believe there isn't someone who has been successful at doing this sort of thing.

Thank you, that was helpful, it has given me some avenues to explore. I have not used a command prompt for about a decade!
The command chflags hidden /volumes/HomeShare does not seem to have worked.
When I use it, there is no error message but I cannot see anything additional in the other computer.
When I use chflags hidden /volumes/HomeShare/rubbish I see an error message about the folder not existing (which it does not!) so the path is correct.
When I use chflags hidden /volumes/HomeShare/MBP naming a folder that does exist and was created by this computer/user, it seems to have no effect either.
Looking at one source of OS X command line commands (http://ss64.com/osx/) I see that 'setfile' might do the trick (setfile v /volumes/Homeshare/MBP) but that command returns 'command not found'. It is apparently part of 'developer tools' ... which I do not have access to (AFAIK).
In both cases, would the commands work on existing files only, or would new files be visible, or even files copied into this space? Presumably, each person saving to this area would need to then give access via terminal (or a script). Am I right in this thinking? If so, how would I modify the properties of the drive so that they are the same as, for example, a memory stick?

  • Change the Blu-Ray burn speed from within PRE9

I burned a 2 hour video to Blu-Ray last night from within PRE9, and it all turned out well. Except it took maybe 5 or 6 hours to burn (its 6x speed disc).
Is this to be expected? I don't see any settings for burning speed from within PRE9.
I burned a 2 hour test Blu-Ray the other day from within the software that the Blu-Ray burner came with (where you can adjust the burn speed), and I could swear it was much faster. But I don't want to waste another disc just to test this out.
    Thanks
    Greg

Unfortunately, PrE does not allow one to alter the Burn Speed. The "big brother," Encore has that capability.
In PrE, I suggest doing a Burn to Folder, and then the great, free burning utility, ImgBurn, which allows that adjustment. However, without extra software (virtual BD burner software), PrE does not allow BD Burn to Folder, at least not yet.
    Sorry for the bad news,
    Hunt

  • Blue Lightning Bolt: what's the rgb value?

I'd like to try to create a graphic that would allow me to hide that hideous thing. Does anybody know what's the colour?
(now that i think about it i might take a picture of it, and colour picking it..)
well, please guys let me know if you know it, i hope my ideas of creating a background of the same colour, or with stripes.. will help you out.
thanks for your help in advance,
    Antonio

Generally speaking you want to make the whitest thing in an image *just* pure white in an image, but that could change depending on the image.  You could imagine an evening image (e.g., around sunset) where the brightest things would be orange and should stay at least a little orange.

  • How can i change the blue backgroung color ?

The top of the Firefox page is a light blue color.
How can I change it to another color ?

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • How can I change the colour of the web IDM screen from blue

We run 2 instances of IDM - one for production systems and one for all other dev/test/uat systems. Both run on separate databases and web servers.
Is there a way I can change the blue background in the web interface to another colour so I can easily see whether I am using the production or development IDM session ? Yes, I know I can change the icon or check the URL but screen colours are such  quick and easy way to identify the session.
    regards

    Hi Phil,
Are you using SAP IDM 7.0 or 7.1...

  • Not Syncing / No Lightning Bolt

When I connect my iPhone to my macbook iTunes doesn't launch and the iphone doesn't show the charging lightning bolt, although the phone does still charge. I've tried in DFU mode and with another (good) sync cable but nothing seems to work. All other iPhone functions are working normally.

  • Changing the banner on the bubble in UPK

    Hello everyone,
Within UPK, you can change the bubble background and text with going to: Options>Bubble and making the modifications.
But does anyone know how to change the blue banner that says "Try It" "Know It" etc?
    I hope I am clear.

    Hi,
You most certainly can make changes to the colours. I assume that you are referring to the "Try It", "Know It" banner when you click on the play.exe file?
To make the changes, navigate to the following within your UPK library:
    1. System --> Publishing --> Styles --> <content> --> Player
    2. Double click on Player, and you should see a number of files.
    3. Navigate to the Skin.css file and open it.
    4. The properties .navCellOff and .navCellOn defines what colours the buttons are. Change these values as required.
    5. Save the change in the text editor.
    6. Press the save button in UPK.
    7. Publish topic to see changes.
    8. Access play.exe and you will see the changes. I hope this is what you are looking for.
Also, have a look at the Content Development manual provided with UPK - spcifically the section "Customize Player Mode Buttons" on page 362 of the document.

    Greig

  • Yesterday, when I brought my laptop back from sleep, I tried to check my e-mail with the Mail app like I always do. But there was the lightning bolt sign next to the inbox, and the pop-up asked me to input my password, which didn't work. It says mail.mac.

Yesterday, when I brought my laptop back from sleep, I tried to check my e-mail with the Mail app like I always do. But there was the lightning bolt sign next to the inbox, and the pop-up asked me to input my password, which didn't work. It says mail.mac.com has rejected my password. The password is correct (I'm able to check my e-mail through my browser at me.com), but for some reason Mail keeps on rejecting it. I usually don't have to input my password at all in Mail. Any clue how to fix this? I haven't changed anything at all on my laptop.

I did change my apple ID password though...

  • IOS 7 doesn't change the lighting bolt icon when iPhone 4s is fully charged

When I connect my iPhone 4s to a plug and it starts charging, I can see a lightning bolt on iOS7 next to the battery, but when it is fully charged it doesn't change to a plug icon as it used to change on iOS 6. Any suggestions? Does it damage my battery?

Well, for the time being (I mean, if Apple does not go back to the bolt/plug icons) if the device shows 100% then it's fully charged.
But feel free to let Apple know that you want it in http://www.apple.com/feedback

  • Any solution to a white screen with a battery icon with a lightning bolt through it on the Tour?

My daughters blackberry tour suddenly stopped taking a charge and would not power on. It just shows a white screen, with a battery shaped icon & lightning bolt through it.  Went to our local cell store and they did a battery swap for us. The phone worked for about 2 hours then did the same thing. After a couple more swaps with no change, they un installed and re-installed the software. This again fixed it temporarily. When it quit again, we were sent a replacement phone. The replacement did the same thing. We were sent a 2nd replacement, but in the meantime, the first replacement started working. It worked for about a week then did the same thing. Now we have attempted to activate the 2nd replacement and it gets the same screen and will not charge enough to even activate it. I'm working with the customer support (phone is under warranty still), but so far no solution. Anyone else experience this? I find it strange that we now have a 3rd phone, doing the same thing and we have tried new batteries and an new charger.

Leave the device to charge 2-3 hours, and then, still connected to the USB cable, remove the the battery from the device a few seconds and reinsert it. If it boots--leave it to charge to 100% (check Options > Status for the percentage).
If it doesn't boot--try using a wall outlet charger if you are not. If you are connected via USB to the PC, make certain that you have Desktop Manager (or the USB device drivers) installed, which you can download below.
Make certain your USB cable is connected to one of the PC's main rear USB ports. Not a USB hub, nor a monitor USB port, nor a USB port on the front of the PC.

  • Battery Icon During Charging Does Not Show The Lightning Bolt?

How can i fix my iphone 4? the little battery icon in the top right does not show the 'lightning bolt' while charging. Instead, it displays a power plug. If i unplug and reinsert the charging cable the icon briefly changed back into the lightning bolt but then switches back to the plug. Why is this?

Does the iPhone show that it is charging, that is, does the percent charge increase?  If not it could indicate a faulty charger or connecting cable.  Can you try a different charger and cable to see what that does?
Have you tried a power off/on and a reset to see if those help?
