Changing the BOM reference

Hello Everyone,
In our company we have 1000's of material boms e.g. VR935 material bom, if a new grade of material is created but has the same bom we create a new one by create with reference e.g. VR935/1 copy from VR935.
My question is this, can you go into VR935 bom and just change the material e.g. VR935 to VR935/1 the box is greyed out.
I'm sorry if this sounds stupid but my manager is convinced we can do this but I'm sure we can't, because the boms related to whatever material it was originally created for.

Not possible, you can't change the header material in BOM,
If you want you can copy the VR935/1 from VR935, and then if you don't want VR935 BOM , then delete the BOM of VR935 by choose delete in the BOM( cs02)

How to change the JCO reference of an existing model in CE 7.1

Hi All
I have read an article which explains the method to change the JCO reference of model but when I tried to follow the same steps in CE 7.1 i am not able to find the category "Model Settings" (on clicking model edit option) containing the property "modelInstance_defaultLogicalSystem" which needs to be changed.
So is there any other method that needs to be followed in CE 7.1 to change the JCO reference? or should i delete and recreate the models with new JCO reference.
Any suggestions would be highly helpful.

I guess you are not opening the models node. Open the models node shown in the web dynpro explorer.

Then select the model for which you want to change the JCo references and then in teh properties tab you will find the desired propoerty and then just change the modelInstance_defaultLogicalSystem Property.

Error when I change the BOM without a change number

I would like to receive an Error when I change the BOM without a change number.
I define the modification parameter (EC management active and History reqmnt), I configure history reqmnt for BOM (I choice the status 1 and 3 for my BOM usage 5)
In change the message type I dont have the really message number in the liste.
How can I create a new message (045) so that I get an error by changing the BOM without a change number.

Dear Dede,
check for the Authorization Object C_STUE_NOH for the
particular User Id's for which you want to Create or Change a
BOM without a Change number.
So assign this Authorization Object under all user id's for which
you want to have this control.
Adding the mentioned Authorization Object in particular User
Id's will resolve the problem.
This can be done using PFCG T code by adding in particular
Roles.
Revert back incase of any clarifications.

How to change the JCO reference to an existing model

Hi
We had created a few models with the 2 - default (WD_model..) JCO references, now is it possible to change the references to a different custom /name without re-importing the models again ?
The issue for us is very critical because, we need to maintain unique reference for all the models under each application for the same server.
please let us know asap.

Hi Sathya & Ravi,
If you want to change only the JCO Destinations that your model refers to, then its very much possible to change their names.
But if the model stucture has got changed , then you should reimport that.
I guess, trying out the following steps for changing the names will work out for you.
1) For Medata Dest--
a) Click on the local disctionary stucture that has been generated by importing the model.
b) Click on the properties tab on the bottom right corner.There you shoulb be able to change the Metadata dest name.
2) For Application data Dest-
a) Right Click on model classes (model_Input & model_output) & then click EDIT.
b) Same Way, on the bottom right corner , Change whichever proerty you want to alter inlcuding the Dest Name.
In this way, you can mainten unique JCO references for all the models you are using in your project.
ReBudild & Redploy the entire project . Create the New JCOs Destinations in the content Admin & happily run your application.

Is it possible to copy and paste a formula without changing the cell references?

I am trying to paste a formula to a cell adjacent to where it currently is but when I do, the cell references in it change. I am trying to get exactly the same formula in the cell (without re-typing it).

Functional Module for changing the field Reference Key 2 in Tcode FB02

I have a one requirement to change a field Reference Key2 (XREF2) in transaction FB02. This field appears in FB02 during (refer steps below):

u2022 In next screen click on u201CAdditional Datau201D. We will get a pop-up window where the field Reference Key2 (XREF2) is there.
We want to change this value of this field. Kindly let me know any Function Module available for this or any other suggestion.

I don't know any such BAPI/FM (alas, many threads already) so i suggest you to use SHDB to build a batch input. FI_ITEMS_MASS_CHANGE should not solve your problem.

How to change the unique reference number of a EUL in Discoverer 4i

My Discoverer version is 4i which comes default with EBS 11i.
Now i have created a New Custom EUL Using Database Exp and Imp.

"if you use the database export and import utilities to copy an EUL, the new EUL (including its reference number) will be identical to the original EUL"
I have to change the Reference Number of New EUL.
This can be done by
start d:\<ORACLE_ HOME>\discoverer\util\eul5_id.sql
But i could not find this sql in 4i Discoverer Home.
/8.0.6/discwb4/util
Can any one help me in finding this.

The file is not called EUL5_ID.SQL in Discoverer 4i, I believe it is called EUL_ID.SQL.
Oracle only introduced the EUL5 notation when Discoverer 10g was released. This has continued on into 11g.
Why not go straight to 11g? Discoverer 4 is old and no longer supported.

Where can you change the default reference point?

Screenshot provided where you can manually change it on an object, but I would like to change it so that the Top Left is selected by default. I'm a web developer, and just like the web all my designs origins are anchored to the top left.

Which version of Illustrator are you using?
In CS 5 – for example – you can just change it once, then AI automatically remembers it for future sessions.

How to change the header of Material BOM in a program for alternative BOM ?

Requirement: An Inbound IDOC creates /change/delete Alternative Material BOM. The Alternative Material BOM can have alternative values from 1 to 99.
ISSUE: I am good with CREATE and DELETE BOM. The issue is with CHANGE of header Material BOM. The fields which we need to change in the header is the base quantity, BOM status, Lot Size from and Lot Size to. Please note that I am able to change the item details of the BOM with FM CSAI_BOM_MAINTAIN. I find no FM /BAPI which would change the header of a material BOM.
Please NOTE that I am using BAPI_MATERIAL_BOM_GROUP_CREATE to create alternative Material BOM. This has a parameter in TABLES called "VARIANTS" which has a field CS_FUNCTION which can have value from NEW/CHG/DEL .Also ,there is another parameter in TABLES called "ITEMASSIGNMENTS" which has a field CS_FUNCTION which can have value from NEW/CHG/DEL which implies this FM will allow us to change the BOM. But this does not work when I use it for CHANGE scenario with CHG value. I debugged this BAPI and observed it requires a STNLR(Bill of Material) value . This field is not there in any of the structure. I am not sure if I am passing the right parameters to it.
Let me know if the parameters are passed correctly for CHANGE scenario.
Also let me know if there is any other way(FM/BAPI) to update the Header of the Material BOM ?

Try doing something like this:

Existing cross Reference: how to change the name of the file it refers to?

Hi everybody,
I am a professional translator.
One client of mine sent me a complete FrameMaker 9 book file for translation.
I translated the content via a CAT-Tool and now am in the process of checking if cross references and markers are ok directly into the file.
I noticed that many cross references are linked to another file of the book. But in the process of translating each file separately, I gave them a slightly different name (I added the language at the end) so as to be able to recognise them eventually.
Now I have this problem: I cannot find in the cross reference interface where to change the name of the file into the new one the cross reference is supposed to refer to.
Am I right in wanting to change the file reference? If so, how do I do that?
Or is it better to avoid this task and rename the translated file into their original names ? Would it work then?

I'm guessing that you renamed the component files by means other than using the Edit > Rename File from the Book menu.
If so, do over. Rename from the Book menu. It automatically revises all the cross-references in all the component files.
In a Book, the only thing that's safe to rename with the file manager is the .book file itself.

Can I change a cross reference display without having to recreate it?

WHen cross references are to figures on the same page, I let the cross reference point to the paragraph number only ("see View 25"). When it is on another page, I use paragraph number and page ("See View 25 on page 34"). But when my text changes, sometimes text moves, sometimes images move and I need to change the cross reference. It is quite bothersome, I have to rmeove the old one and create a new one, hunting for the cross reference in a list of 150 or so.
Is there a simpler way? E.g. put the insertion point in the cross reference and than some easy way to select a different appearance?

Thanks for stepping in, Jan. I'm glad the smart page-reference building blocks in Cross-References Pro can actually do what I hoped it could, to solve this riddle for the original poster. I did a quick test, just to be sure it worked as I expected, and it does! It would be great for Adobe to license your technology and build this into InDesign, along with the rest of the extra-strength cross-reference abilities. (Disclaimer: I'm not connected to DTP Tools other than being a happy user.)
As to the unwanted space, perhaps a character style in nested and/or GREP style could apply some kind of width adjustment that would reduce the displacement to an absolute minimum.

The trick is that you include the words "on" and "on the" in the page wording definitions, but insert just emptu space for the This Page setting. Change the value of a uiXML frameset after frame displays.

I have a frameset - after it displays the frames I want to change the targetframe in the frameset, is there a way to alter the
bound value of the targetframe?
is there a way on a page load to fire an event that would alter the targetframe? perhaps on a onload event for the uix page that
loads in the center?
for example, I have a center frame defined in my frameset:

The top never changes, and in it I have a button to change the size of the center or bottom screens:
