Changing the colour space on a jpeg image for better quality when uploading to a website

When uploading my images to my website the quality and colour of the photographs aren't the same. They lose quality etc. I was told to change the colour space to sRGB or something to make it better. No idea how this works and I'm now not sure what settings to have photoshop on, I don't want to edit my images and then for them to be edited wrongly.
Really need some help, much appreciated.

File > Save for Web.  Use the 4-up panel to choose the best quality image with the smallest file size to save on bandwidth.  You can test with sRGB enabled.  Click on screenshot.

I believe you would do this with LUTs applied to the clips directly.

  • How to change the colours of a vector patterned image?

    Hello ,
I downloaded a vector , in both jpg and gif format today.  I saved it down in Illustrator as a new swatch.
I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to change the colours in that vector/swatch?
As its jpg or gif , i am not sure whether it can be done.
    Your help is much appreciated.

Just by way of hopefully-helpful general info:
I am not familiar with .eps....
Both EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) and PDF (Portable Document Format) are "meta formats." They are really not all that mysterous. Just think of them as mere "containers"--locked boxes which can contain any combination of individual vector-based, raster-based, and/or text-based objects. So merely saying you have an EPS or PDF file doesn't really tell anyone what you're actually dealing with, because saying that alone doesn't tell what kind of graphic objects the file actually contains.
Both EPS and PDF exist to "pass through" or "pass between" various softwares and/or devices graphic information which would not likely be "understood" if delivered in the native code of the program(s) which created the actual graphic objects.
Illustrator (like other similar drawing programs) is originally and primarily a PostScript-generating program for print. Both EPS and PDF are deeply related to PostScript. So programs like Illustrator can "unlock" most EPS and PDF files to get at the actual, individual objects they contain.
As already briefly mentioned, JPEG (Joint Photography Expert Group) and GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) are entirely raster-based image formats. They are just different ways to encode a single raster image in a compressed file. Both of them use "lossy" compression algorithms--to minimize the file size, they actually throw away data detail when they can. So they most often actually degrade the original (in what is hopefully "negligible" ways). So think of a JPEG (often shortened to JPG) or GIF as a single raster-based image object. A JPEG or a GIF are just two of the kinds of objects which may or may not be contained within an EPS or a PDF.
So you didn't receive "...a vector , in both jpg and gif format" because neither JPEG nor GIF can contain vector-based paths. JPEG or GIF is often used to serve as a mere rough preview of the contents of an EPS or PDF. In fact, EPS files very often contain a JPEG or TIFF (another raster-based image format) image to serve as a crude substitute preview for programs or devices which otherwise would be unable to display the real contents at all.
    I downloaded a vector...
Saying "a vector" is giveaway beginner language. You didn't "dowload a vector." 'A vector' is 'a direction.' You downloaded a vector-based graphics file (but not as  a GIF or a JPEG). Vector-based graphics are graphics consisting of mathematically-described curves nowadays most commonly (but not always) defined as cubic or quadratic Bezier curves. Cubic Bezier curves are the kind created by most programs like Illustrator.
So what you downloaded is typical of a stock-artwork provider:
The actual full-fidelity graphics content (objects) in EPS and PDF "containers."
Separate "dumbed down" raster images of the content in JPEG and GIF formats; usually provided so you can use them as temporary place holders or preview references.

  • Changing  The Colour Space

Hi there, as a photographer my photo book printing company has given me instructions to view a photo file in Adobe Reader and compare it with the same file that they will post to me - so that i can make sure that my monitor is properly callibated to match their printing system. They said to make sure that i change the color space to Adobe RGB 1998 or the exercise will be pointless but I cant seem to find where to change this setting in my Adobe Reader. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Calibrating a monitor is a question of finding the settings for your
own monitor. It is absolutely wrong to say " change the color space to
Adobe RGB 1998" - this is not calibration at all.

  • Changing the colour of part of an image

This is hopefully an easy one!
I have an image in a menu here (the red 'Supagard' one) that
I need to change the background of from black to the blue to match
the rest of the image :
    link here
I've had a rummage, and seen how to change colours by
selecting the area with the magic wand tool, and then using :
Filters > Adjust Colours > Hue / Saturation
But is there away to select a specific colour? (Or I guess
the other way around and check the hue / saturation values for the
    blue background?

The 'Replace Color Tool' (one of the Bitmap Tools) is what
    you are
looking for. After you select it you will be able to use the
    eyedropper
to pick your 'from' and 'to' colors.

  • My laptop died last night and the date and time was set for 1/1/2000. I went to change the date and time and cannot. For some reason when i pull up system preferences it will not load date and time but will load other stuff. Please help.

Last night my laptop died and the time and date was reset. I cannot acess date and time preferences to change it and my laptop is acting really weird. My CD drive is broken so there are no options to put in a cd. Please someone help i need my laptop for school and cannot afford another.

Many system actions will misbehave, given an inaccurate date. Resetting the NVRAM and / or SMC will not fix it, and if the system has a preposterous date you may not be able to open System Preferences to correct it. This dilemma may or may not be addressed in a future OS X update.
If you cannot open System Preferences you can reset your system date and time using Terminal.
Please read everything that follows before proceeding. Write them down if necessary because the effects of setting a preposterous system date are unpredictable.
Quit System Preferences, force quit if necessary: OS X: How to quit an unresponsive application using Force Quit
Open Terminal - it is in your Utilities folder and looks like this
You can find Terminal by using the Finder's Go menu and choosing Utilities, then double-click the Terminal icon.
At the prompt, you will be typing a command resembling the following:
    sudo date mmddhhnnyyyy
... but you must substitute the actual date and time in the command that corresponds to the date format used for your location. In other words if your custom is to use a date like 8 February 2014 then reverse the mm and dd values.
Substitute numerals in the above command according to the following:
    mm = month
    dd = date
hh = hour (24 hour format)
nn = minutes past the hour
    yyyy = year
Each of those values must be two digits except for the year which can be two or four digits. As an example if the current date and time is February 8, 2014 at 9 PM your command will be the following:
    sudo date 020821002014
    or
    sudo date 0208210014
Either one will work. If you enter nonsensical values the system will attempt to parse the entry correctly.
To recover from your inability to use System Preferences to set the date and time, the value entered does not have to be precise, it just has to be approximate.
Enter that command using the actual time and date for your location and in the appropriate format, then press the Return key. Terminal will ask for your Admin Password - the same one you use when you log in to your Mac. Type it and then press the Return key. What you type will not appear, not even with •••• characters.
To determine if your change was effective just type the date command and press the Return key. Terminal will reply with the date and time. If it appears correct and in the correct format, you should be able to open System Preferences > Date & Time once again. Selecting the "Set time and date automatically" and choosing an appropriate time server will adjust your Mac's system clock to the precise time.

  • Changing the colour of a text box when the value is zero

    Hello
I have some code in an expression that changes the fill colour of a text box in a matrix in an SSRS report.
When the value in the year fields is greater than zero then fine it changes the colour to what I want it to be but when the value is zero then the colour just stays white.
I'm not testing the value in the year fields but in the Tier field. It seems to default to no colour when the year fields are 0 though.
The code I am using is as follows
    =switch(Fields!TIER.Value=1,"PaleGreen",Fields!TIER.Value=2,"Cyan",Fields!TIER.Value=3,"Beige")
This code is in the year field textbox fill property.
I have loaded a screenshot to show an example showing what is happening in the matrix.
Thanks for any help on this
    Regards
    John

    Hi John,
According to your description, you want to change the background color of a textbox when its value is greater than zero. If in this scenario, we can use the expression below to control the BackgroundColor property of the textbox:
    =iif(Fields!SalesAmount.Value>0,"Yellow","White")
If there are any misunderstanding, please elaborate the issue for further investigation.

Yes, it will be a problem. Convert the images in Photoshop using the printer's color profiles or a standard CMYK profile.

  • LR changes the colours of my image?

    Hi,
Just got LR 1.0 on my Mac book Pro and when I import an RAW file from my Nikon D80 i can see that after its done loading it changes the colours/profile of the image?? Im not using any of the profiles from LR when importing just the standard import from the camera to LR.
Anyone haveing any idea why this is happening?
    Cheers
    / Mikael

You don't think it would be that hard to get ACR to better match the in-camera engine...
I understand if its not able to read the "special" in camera user settings, such as increase saturation, etc as that may be proprietary...
But it (ACR) already knows what type of camera you are using... It would be nice if Adobe would make it at least set to better match the out-of-box camera settings per camera... it would be a much better starting point than the flat, discolored images I see, IMHO.
Example... the reds in my Rebel XT RAW's always come up orange, both in LR and ACR.

  • Change the colour of the outer line of a circle

    Hello everyone,
I drew up a circle with no fill inside, to show where the location of my highway storm culvert will be.
I changed the thickness of the outer line of my circle shape by creating a stroke effect at layer → blending options → stroke; then I changed the thickness of the line by right clicking in stroke at the layers panel and then choosing "scale effect."
But the problem I have is that the outer line is gray, and I want it to be black.
The outer line was originally red though so I changed my image → mode to grayscale, because I couldn't find a way to change the colour while keeping my image in RGB colour.  So I've managed to make the outer line gray by changing the image mode but I still can't change the colour of the outer line to black.
I'm sure there must be other ways of changing the outer line colour without having to change the image mode, but I'm clueless.
    Here is my drawing:
The text next to the circle says «Obra de desagüe». That's spanish for "drainage construction site."
You see, I can't change the colour because I have no clue at where the "change colour option" is. I tried going to layer → layer properties, but in there there's only 7 colours to choose from. I chose a random colour, just to see what happens and what truly changed colour was the layer, within the layers panel; not the shape contained within the layer.
So I'm lost here, any help please?
Unfortunately I'm still not an expert in Photoshop just yet.
Thank you for reading my post.

Set shape layer opacity 100% Fill 0% to make fill transparent or add an empty layer make a circular selection stroke it black.

  • Is it possible to change the colour of the bars in a chart on the iPad?

I'm using keynote for iOS and I'm trying to pick the bar colour for my charts. • Change the colour of the tile dynamically:

    Hi,
I have 12 tiles in my application. Depending upon some condition, few tiles colour should be changed and also to the same tiles image should be added. (I'm creating tiles using Border)
Can anybody suggest how can I achieve this?
    Thanks,

Please close your previous threads before you start a new one.
Also, you have asked this very same question before here:
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/b3752b09-2ee2-46ac-a941-dc7baad78110/change-the-colour-of-the-rectangle-dynamically?forum=wpf#b3752b09-2ee2-46ac-a941-dc7baad78110.
Please don't ask the same question twice.
You could use DataTriggers and/or converters to change the property of some UI element based on some condition as already suggested in the previous thread.
Of course you must post your code, or even better upload a reproducable sample of your issue to OneDrive and post the link to it here, for anyone to be able to provide a specific solution.
But note that the forums are not for anyone else to do the entire work for you. You were given code samples of how to use data triggers and converters in the previous thread. That should certainly give you the idea.

  • I would like to change the colour of bars in a chart without losing the underlying default texture associated with my chosen theme. None of the 3D textured fills offered in "Chart Colors" match the textured fill of the theme. Any suggestions?

I would like to change the colour of bars in a chart without losing the underlying default texture associated with my chosen theme. None of the 3D textured fills offered in "Chart Colors" match the textured fill of the theme. Any suggestions?

Thanks Gary, but no, that does not work. First of all, I can't select each bar individually. When I click on one bar, all three bars are selected.
When I use "inspector > graphic" I have 5 fill options: none, color, gradient, image, tinted image. The default selection for the theme I'm using is image. What I would like to use for my charts is the same image that this theme uses for table headers. It has the same texture as the chart, but a different colour. Using anything but image or tinted image removes the texture from the fill.
I have found I can do one of two things. I can select tinted image from the fill selections in "inspector > graphic" or I can select 2D Image Fills from "inspector > chart > chart colors". The first choice does not allow me to match the table header colour because it only allows me to apply a tint to the existing colour and adjust its opacity. The existing colour has too much influence on the fill, so I can't find an RGB adjustment that will match the table header colour. The image selections from "inspector > chart > chart colors" do not quite match the colour or the texture. Again, I can try to tint the image, but I still can't get it to match and the texture is not the same anyway.
The image I want to use obviously exists in the software as it is an attribute of the theme, but for some reason is inaccessible. The other angle I have tried is to edit the theme, but I can't figure out how to do that either.

  • How do I change the colour of a PS frame?

I am creating christmas cards and adding photos of my kids onto christmas backgrounds. I am dragging frames from the right hand side but want to change the colour of these frames - can someone please tell me how to do that?
I've worked out how to do it by clicking on the black/white circle and using the hue/saturation but when I go to do that with the frame on the new background, the colour of the background changes instead of the frame. I need to change the frames colour while on the background to get an exact match to what I want (does that make sense???)
Is there an easier way to create a frame for the photos? I also want to create a text box / frame (with the christmas message) with a solid colour background (different to the main background) can anybody tell me how to do that?
An example of what I am trying to do is here http://www.invitations2impress.com/christmas-cards-gift-tags
    Thanks in advance )

In a nutshell, you have to simplify the frame layer and erase the interior.
    Here are the steps:
    Create your background.
    Add a new layer:
Drag the frame you want to use onto the editing surface.  The frame will come in on its own layer:
    Simplify that frame layer:
Choose the Magic Wand Tool and give it these settings:
Click on the interior gray area of the frame with the Magic Wand to select it, and hit your Delete key:
Switch to the Eraser Tool and erase the stuff that's left in the middle:
Select the empty layer (Layer 1 in this example) and use File...Place to place your image on it.  The layer name will change to the name of the image.  Adjust the size and placement of the image.  Your layers will now look like this:
With the frame layer selected, add a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer, making sure to "clip" it to the frame layer.  Adjust the sliders to suit:
    The final result:
    Ken
