Changing the default Repeat Times list in iCal Alarms?

Has anyone ever figured out a way to change the default "repeat times" list on iCal Alarms?

I'd love to add a few to iCal's current offerings, like "4 hours" "8 hours" etc.

Dear Rich
Welcome to Apple Forums,
I'm not sure about either of these but it used to be that you could rook the finder into opening in which ever view you wanted by double clicking on your hard drive icon on your desk top changing it to the view you want and then resizing it slightly. If you then close it and reopen it it should open to list view again. Again i'm not sure that this still works but its better than nothing. Also there is a free program called Cocktail that might do it for you( i have an old version and there for the newer version might have it when might doesn't). I hope one of these two ideas works out for you.

• Can you change the DEFAULT VIEW of a published iCal to MONTH VIEW?

Can you change the DEFAULT VIEW of a published iCal to MONTH VIEW? I use this for a vacation rental and people never ever ever ever need to see anything but the MONTH VIEW. I hate having to tell them to click MONTH view at the top of the page. Is there a way to force it to always appear in MONTH? Thanks!

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Unfortunately no, but if they are repeat viewers why not tell them to change their view to "Monthly" using the "Preferences" button on that page?

• Changing the default event time to all-day in Month View?

I updated to Mavericks today, and when I went to add an event to my Calendar, I discovered that all-day was not the default time.  In Mountain Lion, when going to add an event in Month View, it was automatically set to all-day, which is perfect because all of my events are all-day events.  Now, it's being set to 9:00 to 10:00, and I have to check the box to make it all-day.  I know that this isn't much work, but when I'm adding dozens of events it starts to get a little annoying.
Calendar 7.0, OS X 10.9 (Mavericks).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

npatelaz,
I don't think that it is possible, even using Terminal. If you want to change your workflow, "all day" events can easily be created in the Day/Week view, but as you stated the Month view poses a problem.
Calendar Help says:
To make:
An event that lasts all day:
In Day or Week view, double-click in the “All-day” section at the top of the calendar.
An existing event last all day:
In Day, Week, or Month view, double-click the event, click the date, then select “All-day.”
A multiday event:
In Week view, drag from the start time to the end time. You can drag across multiple days.In Day or Month view, create an event. Then, enter the start and end dates and times.
An all-day event into a multiday event:
In Week view, drag the all-day event across multiple days.

• Changing the default meeting time in Outlook 2010 to 50 minutes

Is there a way to change the default time for a meeting to 50 minutes.  I can go to Calendar, View, View Settings, Other Settings, and change to 15, 30 or 60 minutes.  What about 50?  Any ideas or suggestion?  Thanks

Hi,
I think you have to choose another time scale on your calendar. Because Outlooks tries to match the timescale for new meeting requests. It is only possible to choose 30min or 60 min.
In order to change the timescale you will find a description here:

• How can I change the default start time of an activity in iCal (Mavericks)?

My current default time in iCal is 9.00 AM. Don't know why. In iCal on my MBP it is 10.00 AM. Can I change that to 11.00 AM? I am not an early riser...

If the program does not open the last folder you visited you most likely have the option enabled to autoload Bridge on Startup.  Either disable that option  in PS or shut Bridge down before you shut off the computer.

If you always want it to start on a specific folder you can leave it on autoload, go to folder you want it to start on then exit Bridge.  It should load this each time in future.  Many of us discourage the autoload option as it can lead to other problems as well.

• Can I change the default wait time to redial after a busy signal?

If I fax using my external USB modem, and I get a busy signal, the system waits something like three minutes before redialing. Is there a way I can change that to 1 minute? I can't find the preference for that anywhere I've looked, but I'm betting it exists somewhere.
Thanks in advance,

I'm not sure this will work, but you can try it. ..
Create a character style that does nothing but apply the contextual alternates attribute (check the box under OpenType Features inthe style defintion dialog). Then add a GREP style to your paragraph style to match the "a" and apply the character style you just created.

• How to change the default view of published iCal's URL

I am publishing an iCal for a nonprofit group and link to the calendar from the group's website. The default URL given (in the send publish email option) leads to the week view of the current week. I would prefer the link to take site visitors to the month view of the calendar. If I go to the month view and copy the URL for it, and use that for the link, I have to change the URL each month, because the URL that comes from the month view will only show the month it was at the time I copied the URL -- it will not change with the new month. Does anyone have any idea of how I can change the URL so that it leads to the month view of whatever the current month is?
I should note that I know how to change the default view in the my browser, but I would rather not have to explain how to do this to all the people viewing the calendar -- just wanting the correct month view to show up when they click the link, without having to change it each month.
I would be so grateful if anyone has some insight on this!
Thanks.

Carlo,
The fact that this question has been left unanswered for over 2 months seems a little negligent on the part of Apple Support.
This Forum is unfortunately not Apple Support. According to Apple:
What is Apple Discussions and how can it help me?
"Apple Discussions is a user-to-user support forum where experts and other Apple product users get together to discuss Apple products. You'll find a wealth of information about your favorite Apple hardware and software products that will help you get the most out of your purchase. You can participate in discussions about various products and topics, find solutions to help you resolve issues, ask questions, get tips and advice, and more.
If you have a technical question about an Apple product, be sure to check out Apple's support resources first by consulting the application Help menu on your computer and visiting our Support site to view articles and more on our product support pages."
In direct response to your questions, I would say that (as observed by the OP) anyone who subscribes to a published calendar can make a change to their desired view using the "Preferences" icon which is displayed underneath the mini-month calendars.
There is no way that I know of to directly or conveniently change the time-range. There may be workarounds, but I could not find a suitable solution for you.
I would recommend that you provide iCal Feedback, if you are interested in informing Apple of your desires.

If you're having trouble making changes to files that are inside your home folder (represented by a house icon in the sidebar of a Finder window), or if you can't get changes to the settings of an application to stick, then please see below.
Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, they may not work as described.
Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
{ sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR..; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_; chmod -R -N ~ $_; } 2>&-
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take a few minutes to run, or perhaps longer if you have literally millions of files in your home folder. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if you prefer not to take it, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password dialog will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
In the dialog, select the startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if it's not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if it's not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
Select
 ▹ Restart
from the menu bar.
