Changing the destination feed for a podcast

Hey guys.
Hoping for some help.
I work for am Australian radio station and we're changing the name/presenters of our breakfast program.
This will affect our daily podcast XML which has a lot of subscirbers.
In addition to the name and artwork, we'll also be changing the feed destination itself, where the episodes are hosted. e.g.
http://www.generic.com/oldshow/rss/podcast.xml
Is now being hosted at
http://www.generic.com/newshow/rss/podcast.xml
Is this something I just change in teh XML? Or will it mean creating a whole new podcast on iTunes and submitting it.
Thanks.

In order to move the Store you need to add a special tag to the original feed an leave it there for a couple of weeks. This will move subscribers to using the new feed and they won't even notice. The method is described here:

  • HT1819 How would I go about changing the RSS feed for an already established podcast?

Hello! My co-host and I have recently acquired a website for our show, and we'd like to change the feed for our podcast, but I'm unable to find any real way to do it. Can anyone give me an assist?

    Hi Bonesaw,
Whether you grap or snap continuously is up to you.  If you don't care about viewing continuously you can snap continuously.  Another option is to use the IMAQ sequence VI which grabs a series of images.  You can then save those images without worrying about the buffer.
For the buffer you can use the Acquired buffer number output of the Grab acquire VI as the buffer input to your copy acquired buffer VI.
The reason that only the last image is saved is because you are using the same file path for each save.  That means that you are overwriting each image when a new image comes up.  You can avoid this by building the file path and incorporating the increment counter in the file path.  That will give you a new file name for each iteration of the loop.

  • How do I change the destination folder for Icloud Itunes down loads?

How do I change the destination folder when I download songs from the Icloud?...I want the songs to go to an external hard drive and not the hard drive on my pc

You might want to ask that question over in the iTunes for Windows forum.  They should know if it's possible to change the location to and external drive.

  • How I change the artwork logo for my podcast please ?

    hello..
I wish if you could help me changing the podcast name & logo please??
I have created the podcast from wordpress.com ..
    my link is
    http://ziado83.wordpress.com/
go to the itunes and make search for ziado83
i want to change the logo and the name please
    thanks alot
    Ziad

    Your feed is at http://ziado83.wordpress.com/feed/
The image which appears in the Store page is referenced in feeds in the 'itunes:image' tag. However I doubt you have access to edit the feed directly, and even if you could WordPress would presumably overwrite it the next time you added an episode.
In any case WordPress is not creating a proper podcast feed: it's missing the 'itunes:...' tags and the 'iTunes Declaration' in the second line which is necessary for iTunes to be able to read them. In this event whatever you do won't enable an image to appear in the Store: there are sufficient tags for the feed to work in iTunes, but not to show the subtitles, summaries or the image.
I understand that there is a plug-in for WordPress called PodPress which will enable you to create a proper podcast feed and you may care to investigate that: I'm afraid it's not something I can advise on.

  • Problems with the RSS feed for my podcast

Hi, am very new to this so apologies if this requires a simple solution.
I was told that to find the RSS for my podcast, I hover my cursor over the subscribe button and this will be it. When I do this I get:
    itpc://www.jilt.org.uk/publichtml/publichtml/Podcast/rss.xml
I have tried this with itunes and it has been rejected as not working.
Other information that might be useful for anyone trying to help is that my url is www.jilt.org.uk.
I have entered "jilt" as the sitename on Iweb but this doesn't seem to come up anywhere.
Am very confused by it all and would hugely appreciate any advice.

You seem to be uploading to a server that uses a public_html folder as the root folder.
Inside this you have a copy of the public_html folder and, inside this is a copy of your website.
You also appear to have your files uploaded to the public_html folder because your podcast is available here....
    http://www.jilt.org.uk/Podcast/Podcast.html
So that you don't break the RSS feed what you need to do is this:
Publish the site to a local folder and you should get an index.html file and a folder named "jilt".
Upload these to the top level public_html folder. Now open the site in the browser and hover over the "Subscribe" button to get the feed's URL.

  • I would like to change the destination location for the urlcassifier3.sqlite file, so it saves to the computer instead of the user profile. How?

urlclassifier3.sqlite is huge and eats up my profile space on my user account. Is there anyway to change the location this file saves to?

Unless you are using a non-default Profile location, that file isn't even in your actual Profile folder. It is in a secondary "profile" folder under Local Settings\App Data, instead App Data\Roaming. ''Or something like that, I use WinXP on my Windows partition.'' If you have relocated your Profile folder, all the files from "Local Settings" will end up in the relocated Profile folder.
As far as moving it - sorry, the developers didn't provide a preference that can be modified to be able to move that specific file; there isn't a pref to move anything but the Cache in any version above Firefox 2.0.0.x.
The way I see it you have two options: <br />
    # Turn off the '''''Block reported'' attack sites''' and '''web forgeries''' preferences in the Security tab in options, that service is disabled altogether, and delete that file.
    # Or delete that file periodically so that is doesn't get too large, like when it reaches like maybe 35 to 40,000Kb , and let Firefox rebuild that file.
Depending on the security suite or A-V application you are using, you may have a second anti-phishing / web forgery application installed, and don't really need the default service that comes with Firefox.
''I hate that damn file - I have over 40 Profiles which I use to test different add-on configurations and because I have 12 different versions of Firefox installed. I routinely turn those prefs off and delete that file in the Profiles that I rarely use for "surfing".'' I do have those prefs enabled on the 8 Profiles that I use on a semi-regular basis, though. My A-V program is a free version without the bells & whistles that come with the "paid" versions.

  • Change the FEED for my podcast

    Hello!!!
I have summited a feed for my podcast. And I want to change it. The feed is in my web page but I want to change it to a feed from FeedBurners so that I can get statics about my podcast.
    How DO I do this.

I quote from Apple's podcast Tech Specs page
    Changing Your Feed URL.
Podcasters occasionally need to move their feed from one location to another. To do so without losing subscribers, you must convey the change directly to all users who are subscribed to your feed. If possible, you should do two things:
You should use the <itunes:new-feed-url> tag described in the iTunes RSS Tags section below. The tag will cause the iTunes Store to be updated with the new feed URL, as well as all iTunes client versions that support podcasting.
You should set your web server to return an HTTP 301 response and redirect when receiving a request for the old feed. Doing so will cause both the iTunes Store and the most (but not all) iTunes clients that have subscribed to your podcast to pick up the new feed URL.
The <itunes:new-feed-url> tag will work for iTS and all versions of the iTunes client that support podcasting. The 301 redirect will work for most of your subscribers who do not use the iTunes client. We recommend that you use both methods to update the greatest possible number of subscribers with your new feed URL.
Be sure to maintain the <itunes:new-feed-url> tag and the 301 redirect for at least two weeks to ensure that most subscribers have attempted to download your most recent episode and have thereby received the new URL.
If you are not able to use both methods, you may want to include an audio note in your podcast, informing your subscribers that your podcast has changed locations.

If not then you might be better off asking in the iTunes For Windows forum, you may be more likely to get better help there.

  • Switching RSS feed for my podcast

Hi. I may need to change the feed for my podcast. I've read the tech speks about adding the tag to indicate the location of the new feed, but I'm using FeedBurner and have no idea how to do that inside feedburner.
Does anyone know how to add the tags to tell iTunes of the location of the new URL if you're using feedburner.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is something you would have to ask Feedburner. As you have no direct access to the feed I suspect that you may find some difficulty - after all, Feedburner have no interest in helping you leave them.

  • When i try submitting my RSS feed for a podcast itunes says we are experiencing technical difficulties...... why is this and when will it be fixed?

when i try submitting my RSS feed for a podcast itunes says we are experiencing technical difficulties...... why is this and when will it be fixed?

Well, I can't see any problem with the feed, and the episode media file is correctly referenced and plays. Incidentally you do have a 'copyright' tag - it says 'Wippenberg'.
When a podcast feed is rejected, corrected and resubmitted there is a minor bug in the Store which causes you to be told that the podcast has already been submitted (which is true but irrelevant - it's really meant to prevent duplicates). To get round this you need to make a small change to the title - for example you could add a hyphen and space before 'Podcast'. You can always change it back once it's been accepted.
The other issue might be the content. The reason given for rejection tends to be technical issues, whatever the actual reason is. I haven't listened to your podcast, so I can't comment directly. Possible reasons for rejection are unacceptable content, sexual content or strong language when the 'explicit' tag is not said to 'yes', and copyright infringement: a lot of people fall over this one by including 'mixes' or indeed full plays of commercially issued recordings without having written permission from the copyright owners or alternatively a valid Podcast Licence (not available in all countries, possibly only the USA). I have no idea whether this might be an issue with yours.

  • How to change the Destination URI value of a item table at run time

I'd like to change the Destination URI of item of a table region when a column X of my view is not NULL. Where should I set the new Destination URI value for the item table region for specific row? Is in the RowImpl for the view object or in the Controler of the page?
    I'd really appreciate any suggestion.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the help, but I still dont know where I should to use setAttributeValue(DESTINATION_ATTR,OADataBoundValueViewObject());
All examples that I saw till now here, suggestes to change something in the page in Controller but based on something entered in the page. In my case is IN to OUT, I will render some item table with a specific value parameter based what is in the database. Being more specific, I have a html table and one column Col1 has a value and it will have a DESTINATION URL if another column Col2 is Null. I believe I would have to check somewhere if the Col2 is null or not and change the DESTINATION URL property.
    Thanks again..

  • Is it possible to change the destination of "local cached data folder"

    Hi,
we are using Indesign (CS5.5) in a XenDesktop Invironment. Everytime when a user logoff the history of "last open files" are lost.
I think these Data are stored in %localappdata%\Adobe\... and get lost when logoff or reboot the VM.
Is it possible to redirect or change the destination?
    thank you for help
    best regards
    Dirk

These MRU lists are stored in the Registry and/or the user's prefs files. Naturally, if you reboot your VMs or the user hasn't permission to store them permanently, this info will be lost. You will have to use group policies and system variables to point to other locations outside the VM. Nothing to do with Adobe at all.

  • Windows installer changes the destination path of MSI during Active Setup

We are having issues with MSI repairs via Active Setup on a handful of PCs.  Most of the PCs work correctly.
The scenario is this:  we have a vbscript that installs two MSIs as system via SCCM.  The script then creates Active Setup entries for both MSIs to put the user based files into the user's profile at the next logon.  The /fpu switches are
used.  This works for the vast majority of our users.
However, on 12 PCs the verbose MSI log shows the destination path for the files being changed from the logged on user to the system profile.  So the user never gets the files needed to run the application.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
