Changing the document name on IBooks

How do I change the name of a document thats saved on IBooks?

I'm not sure you can if you are talking about PDF files. You can rename the PDF in Adobe Reader app( it's a free app) and then send it to iBooks. Maybe others on the forum know of a better way.

  • How do I change the document name on my iPad after editing it?

    I have forms to fill multiple time for different projects!  On the iPad, I can not tell if they are different because I can't see the changes when saved to iBook or emailed. Do I have to wait until I'm at me PC, if yes the iPad and your app are useless!

    You can change the document name before editing it, using the Duplicate feature.  You can do this in the File Manager by going into ‘Edit’ mode, selecting the file, and choosing Duplicate option.
    Adobe Reader currently does not support saving a copy of a file after changes are made to it (and not yet saved in the original).  This is a feature we would consider for a future update.
    Thanks for your feedback.

  • How to save a PDF in Acrobat XI after making changes without changing the document name

    Whenever I work in Adobe Acrobat XI, I am forced to 'save as' when trying to save the changes I have just made.  I am unable to save the document under the same name I have been working on it under (the way you can do in every other program).  This happens every time I create form fields, merge or extract pages, add text, etc.  This is extremely annoying because then I have to go into my documents, delete the old version, and then rename the document I was working on.  HELP! I work in Acrobat every day creating and editing documents and there HAS to be a better way!

    CTRL+F brings up the search bar within the document. When I go to File --> Save (or CTRL+S) I receive an error message that states "The document could not be saved.  The file may be read-only, or another user may have it open.  Pelase save the document with a different name or in a different folder". This message pops up for EVERY document I have modified that I try to save.

  • Changing a document name opens the file

    I was wondering if this was a new issue with Leopard... or just my mouse. In Tiger, if you needed to change the name of a file, or folder on the desktop... or anywhere, you could click, and it would highlight the words to change the name.
    Now, if you click the first time, nothing happens, when clicking a second time, it either opens the folder, or launches the application. I don't particularly like this happening, especially when I'm just trying to change the file name.
    I am using a MacAlly rfmousejr.

    In my opinion, the behaviour in "Panther" and earlier was even better - you could click once on the file name, and shift the mouse pointer outside of the name area, and it would highlight. Unfortunately, Tiger made (more or less) two clicks necessary throughout the "Finder", probably to make the behaviour more consistent with "Column" view. Normally, I am in favour of GUI consistency, but unfortunately they settled on the worse convention, applying it to an area where the interaction is different enought that imposing consistency actually made things worse.
    In Leopard, the issue doesn't appear entirely to be one of timing. Although it may be awkward, try selecting the icon first, then clicking the file name (I just tested this with the "double-click" setting set to the slowest). This almost never results in the file opening, whereas clicking twice (with the same delay between clicks) on the name did. Similarly, if the icon is selected by alternative means (marqueé selection, by typing the first few letters of the name, or using arrow keys), then clicking once on the item's name also activates the text field.

  • How to open a Numbers doc after message "The document (name) could not be opened." is received?

    I opened an Excel file with multiple worksheets by doubleclicking on it, saved it as a Numbers file and made lots of changes to it. Now I can't open it at all. All I get is the message "The document (name) could not be opened."
    Any ideas?

    It seems that your doc is corrupted.
    Try to rename it from ********.numbers to ********.numbers.zip
    then double click it
    You will get a new ********.numbers file with the structure 'package'.
    Try to open it by double-click.
    Sometimes it works.

  • For four days I have been unable to open a lot of documents. When I try I get a message "The document "name" could not be opened. You don't have permission. This has happened to an important letter which I corrected four times. My Mac has altered the name

    This problem began when I typed in an address http www etc., making one mistake in the address. I corrected it and then tried to copy the address because it was long (I wanted to be able to acces it another time), and that's when the trouble starrted. I just copt documents to get a new one because it's quicker, but it is unorthodox, I know. Since then whenever I copy a document i cannot open it, and it often puts a gobledegook ending to the document name. I've started emailing texts to myself so as to keep them, but I MUST be able to use documents normally. I hava a MacBook Pro, using OS Mountain Lion 10.8.5. I don't like it. It's fairly new, and has messed up my system of documents : the size is alll wrong and the tabulations are worse than ever. I use text edit because I wanted to use Macdictate because I am handicapped (arthritis and firbomyalgia) but I have never been able to get it to work. Since I changed OS I cannot use Text edit properly any more. Please help me. I think it must be a bug that came through when I was putting this address in four days ago. I went to the site once I'd corrected the address and it was perfectly normal. I shall ring them today and ask them if this has happened to anyone else. I live in France. Thank you for your advice. Because I am handicapped and I do not dirve, it is very difficult to get to a Mac store. I deleted Mac cloud documents because I don't want to use it and I thought it might solve the problem, but it didn"t.

    Back up all data.
    This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, they may not work as described.
    Step 1
    If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
    Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
    Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
    Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
    The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
    Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1 or if it doesn't solve the problem.
    Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
    from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
    In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
    Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
    Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
    Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
    Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
    Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

    I cannot open Pages documents that I have worked on and saved.  When I try to reopen Pages documents that I've saved, I get the following
    message:
    "The document “[name of document]” could not be opened. The file isn’t in the correct format.
    The file might be corrupted, truncated, or in an unexpected format."
    I have downloaded the latest update to iWork, but that doesn't help.
    I use Mac OSX 10.6.7
    I am using Pages '09 version 4.0.5 (852)
    If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it.
    Best regards,
    New York Mac User

    A few general trouble shooting tips that may apply here:
    1. If you used Software Update to do the OS update(s) to reach 10.6.7, go to http://support.apple.com/downloads/ and download and apply the Mac OS v10.6.7 Combo Updater. The Combo Updater contains some fixes that were not included in the incremental updaters used by Software Update.
    1a. Check that you have the current version of Pages (and of the other iWork applications) installed. All three applications' current version numbers end in .0.5
    2. A common cause of malfunctioning applications is a corrupted preferences file (.plist file). Your Pages '09's plist is at yourname > Library > Preferences > com.apple.iWork.pages.plist
    Quit Pages, locate the file and Drag it to the Desktop (or to the Trash).
    Restart Pages and attempt to open one of the files.
    If all is well, Trash the plist file and empty the Trash.
    If there's no change, AND you've made changes to the Preferences that you wish to keep, drag the file back to its previous location, replacing any new one that has been created.

  • Script : how to change the Field name in standard program(ZM_MEDRUCK)

    Hi Experts,
    I am working with SAP SCRIPT. i need to change the Field Name that is PO NO to Document No & PO DATE to Document Date.
    These are assigned in data declaration as gv_name and gv_date.
    Can anyone help me to change this Fields.
    Regards,
    Vijayan.R

    Hi,
    You can archive this by making change in SAP script only. You don't need to touch the standard prgm.
    Debug the script and find it out which fields (In script editor) are printing these text on layout... then just replace them by creating your own text...
    You can create a text in TTDTG table,, like ZZPO_NAME = ( Document Name),, and use this filed in the script editor.

  • How to display the RFQ Number as the Document Name in the E-Mail output.

    Hi All,
    I want the Document Name of the E-Mail Notification of RFQ to be the RFQ Number itself.
    For eg. RFQ E-Mail-60000015096.pdf
    How can this be configured?
    Thanks,
    Muneer.

    Hi,
    I have done the changes for PO. Its working fine.
    But its not working for RFQ.
    For eg, for PO its displaying as "PO E-Mail 45000xxxxx".
    But for RFQ its just displaying "RFQ E-Mail" - Number is not coming.
    I have used the text as "PO E-mail &EKKO-EBELN" for PO.
    And for RFQ, I'hv used "RFQ E-Mail &EKPO-ANFNR".
    Thanks,

  • Changing the File Name

    Hi
    i am designing a adobe form which will be send in mail when a button is clicked, i found that the attachment name to be "unknown.pdf". how can i change this ???
    i found out a method called getAcrobatApplicationName() in XML and when i changed application name in that its not getting reflected. So is there any other way to change the file name on "Button Click" event?
    Thanks
    Gopal

    Hi Gopal,
    See if it helps:
    In NW2004s we use the following. getPdf() returns a byte[], the filename is "document-<username>.pdf" and source is the attribute of an IFrame UI element.
    code
    private void initPdf() {
    IWDResource resource =
    WDResourceFactory.createResource(
    getPdf(),
    "document-"
    + WDClientUser.getLoggedInClientUser().getSAPUser().getUniqueName(),
    WDWebResourceType.PDF);
    String source =
    resource.getUrl(WDFileDownloadBehaviour.OPEN_INPLACE.ordinal());
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setSource(source);
    [/code]
    On NW2004 we use a FileDownload UI element (with target=_self) and we call initFileBinaryType method in the wdDoInit method. Of course you still need to set the binary PdfData context attribute with the actual content of the PDF file.
    code
    private void initFileBinaryType() {
    IWDModifiableBinaryType pdf =
    initFileBinaryType(IPrivateTestAppView.IContextElement.PDF_DATA);
    pdf.setFileName("document-"
    + WDClientUser.getLoggedInClientUser().getSAPUser().getUniqueName());
    pdf.setMimeType(WDWebResourceType.PDF);
    private IWDModifiableBinaryType initFileBinaryType(String attribute) {
    return (IWDModifiableBinaryType) wdContext
    .getNodeInfo()
    .getAttribute(attribute)
    .getModifiableSimpleType();
    [/code]

  • When using Quite Imposing Plus the resulting file is only given a Temp name which will be sent as the document name.

    Our company has recently upgraded form Acrobat Professional 8 to Acrobat professional XI. We also use the Quite Imposing Plus plug-in in both versions. Now when using Quite Imposing Plus the resulting file is only given a Temp name which will be sent as the document name to the printer unless the imposed document is first saved. This was not the case in Acrobat Professional 8. I have attached a screen shots that shows an example.
    Is there any reason why this is happening and how can we stop it.

    Thank you for your advice although I think you may be incorrect as the naming of the documents made with Quite Imposing is correct in Acrobat 8.
    After reading the comment below it would seem something has changed from version nine onwards.
    Going forward we plan on changing the way we save and send our imposed documents to print but thank you for your time.

  • How to change the field name in SUS

    HI,
    In the section view all PO's, I want to change the field name  <b>document number</b> to <b>invoice number</b>.Please do let me know how to go about it.
    Thanks in advance ,
    Manu

    Hi,
    The text ID should be first identified in the BSP (BBP_SUS_UI/DOC_NUMBER?)
    Next execute SOTR_EDIT and use the FInd button. Enter the package of the BSP object (BBP_SUS_U?) and select the language as English. Execute the program and you will a complete list of text used in SUS screen. Locate the text ID as above and double click to change based on what you need.

  • Changing the document root in WLS 6.0 SP1

    Hello,
              I want to change the deployment folder of
              config/<domainName>/applications
              to another folder in our source tree. Is this possible? The reason we
              want to do this is because our root tree contains the java source code
              and web-related content in our configuration management system. It
              would seem very odd to map our web-related stuff to
              /WLS6.0sp1/config/<mydomain>/applications and everything else to the
              standard structure.
              In 5.1, setting the weblogic.httpd.documentRoot property does this.
              However, I understand that WLS 6.0 uses a classloader for the
              /applications directory. Can I use a system to property to notify WLS
              6.0 to look at a different directory instead?
              There seems to be error in docs related to this.
              http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs60///////config_xml/properties.html
              Says DocumentRoot entry can be set in config.xml.
              But the entry is not found in DTD (config.dtd)
              http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs60///////config_xml/config.html
              Thanks.
              --Bahar

    Bahar,
              The docs you pointed out is absolutely right. There is no error in the
              document.
              If you want to change the document root make the following
              modifications in your config.xml as per the example here:
              <Application Deployed="true" Name="DefaultWebApp_myserver"
              Path="d:\docmain">
              <WebAppComponent Name="DefaultWebApp_myserver"
              Targets="myserver" URI="www"/>
              </Application>
              Where Your document root is : d:\docmain\www
              Make sure that you have web.xml under
              d:\docmain\www\WEB-INF
              Kumar.
