Changing the effect duration after it already started

How do i change the duration of one effect, in my case "Move", when its already playing.
For example, i'll have a slider that will provide the duration of the event, and as the event plays, i would be able to slide the bar and make it slower or faster!

Unless you stop the effect and then restart it, I don't think you can change the duration in the middle of it's playing.

Changing the language in After Effects cs5

Hello, I'm trying to change the language in After Effects cs5 from German to English on a mac (10.8.5 osx). I've tried going to package contents/resources/AMTlanguages and changing de_DE to en_US but when I restart it and enter the serial number it says its incorrect for this product. I was able to change photoshop without any trouble but does anyone know if AE has a language specific license? help please and thank you!

Any standalone retail package is language specific as dictated by the serial number and installer. Lucky for you, you can easily set AE to English by creating a file called ae_force_english.txt in your user profile's documents folder. the file doesn't need to contain anything, it just needs to be present and named properly.

How to REALLY change the standart duration for JPEG pictures?

Hi,
I'm new here and I know... it's a bit rude to start with a question but well that's what drives me here.
If I change the standart duration of stills it simply doesn't change.... if for example it's set to one and I want it to be 3 for a couple of shots it stays at one.... is this per project and can't be changed during a project....??
would appreciate your help guys and girls.

First, welcome to the forum.
Next, there are two ways to adjust the Duration of a still image, or a Title. The most common is to first be in Timeline Mode. Next, click on the Tail of the Clip that is your still image. Drag it along the Video Track in the Timeline, until it's the Duration that you want. Note: this is easier to do when it's the last image/Clip in the Timeline, or on a separate Video Track. If there are other Clips, you will move those down the Timeline with this movement. If you wish to only affect that one Clip and have it cut into the following Clip, hold down the Ctrl key, when you drag. By default PE will move the rest of the Clips on that Video Track (just the opposite of how PrPro does it).
Next, if you want to Import a bunch of stills and have their Duration longer, go to Edit>Preferences>General and change the Duration there. This is global and will ONLY affect stills Imported AFTER that change. It will also apply to your Titles, so do not forget to change it back.

In Pages 5.1 how do I change the default spacing after a paragraph? I used to be able to do this with the inspector. I no longer see the option.

Adjust line spacing
You can adjust the spacing between lines in a paragraph, and change the amount of space before or after a paragraph.
Click in the paragraph whose spacing you want to change, or select one or more paragraphs.
In the Text pane of the Format inspector, click Style.
Click the disclosure triangle next to Spacing, then choose an option from the pop-up menu:
Lines: Choose when the distance between ascenders (parts of letters that extend to the top of the line) and descenders (parts of letters that extend below the line) should stay the same. The space between lines is proportional to the font size.
At least: Choose when the distance between lines should remain fixed (but not to overlap if the text gets large).The distance from one line to the next will never be less than the value you set, but it may be larger for larger fonts to prevent overlapping text lines.
Exactly: The distance between the baselines.
Between: The value you set increases the space between the lines, instead of increasing the height of the lines. By contrast, double-spacing doubles the height of each line.
Click the arrows next to the spacing field to set the amount of space for the option you chose.
To adjust the amount of space before and after the selected paragraph, click the arrows for Before Paragraph and After Paragraph

i want to know how to change the Data sources after deploying the application to the application server ???
I'm using Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.1.0)

Can you access the Enrprise Manager website of the target Application Server from your location? If so, you can change the datasource in it. If not, yo can bundle the datasource definition in your archive and use that one instead of the one configured in the target OC4J container. Or this will just be the responsability of your customer: whenever you send a new WAR file, they have to modify the datasource if needed and deploy the application?

Can I change the time/duration in a batch way instead of one by one?

I am using Premiere Pro CS3 and I would like to have 7 seconds per photo and not the default of 5 seconds. I know you can do each photo separately, by would love a batch performance. Thanks, Michele

Go to: Edit -> Preferences -> General. Then customize the "Still Image Default Duration". To get seven seconds per image, enter 210 frames if the project is 29.97fps or 168 frames if it is 24fps.
In the future you can post to this forum, for older versions of Premiere.

Can we change the alternative COA after transaction data posting

Hi Friends,
My client has wrongly updated the GL account in alternative Chart of accounts column in Company code segment. They didnt realise and they posted some transaction data as well.
Today they realised and tried to change the alternative COA and it showed an error message "GL account balance is not zerowised". They tried to clear the GL account balance, but couldnt solve the issue.
Please let me know is there any other way to change the alternative COA after entering the transaction data.

Or if the project contains stills, these can be lengthened. Double-click on a still photo to open the Clip Inspector. Adjust the duration by typing in the Duration box. Be aware though that if you have transitions either side of the still, you may get odd results with the duration. See this thread for more details:

How can I change the priority of a program (say Handbrake) to be lower?
I have tried "sudo renice 20 <handbrake PID>" but Activity Monitor doesn't seem to show any
change in behaviour and the Nice CPU display is still zero percent.
How can an app's priority be lowered and how can one verify that it worked?

nice and renice still alter a processes scheduling priority. You can see for yourself using the pridist.d dtrace script ( type sudo pridist.d ). This script samples at 1 kHz and spits out a scheduling priority distribution graph broken down by process.
As an example, kick off a cpu intensive command that does nothing, like:
dd if=/dev/urandom of=/dev/null
renice it to -10, and run the dtrace script.
Then, renice to 10 and run the script again.
You should see a major difference in the priority distribution for dd in each case. In my case, scheduling priorities moved from 0-15 (niced at 10) to 80-90 (niced at -10).
As a side note, nice values that are negative will increase the scheduling priority of a process, making them not so 'nice' to other processes.

Not change the scheduled status after new planning explosion

We do detail schedule once a month, but MRP heuristic run in every day. We need new explosion every date for new master data, but after new exlopsion the allocated order come back to status 'deallocated'. Then we can not distinguish which are the plan order already scheduled which are new. Is that any way to keep the order in allocated after new explosion.

In MMBE te stock should be showing in restricted batch status.
Use MSC2n to change the batch status to released.
Modify the "next inspection date" to the current date. Set the SLED to the next day.
Check MMBE and the stock should now show in unrestricted stock.
Run QA07 using the material as an input and you should get a new recurring inspection lot for the material. Do not enter in any value for the "window" of expired material in the bottom half of the screen.
You should get an 09 lot generated now. (As long as 09 inspection type is active).

Reverse the accouting document which is already craeted for your invoice no., you FI consultant will help in doing so. After reversing the accouting entries update the Tax condition type with respective rate applicable and use update funcionality in VF02 and save the Invoice. This will solve your problem.
I would like to suggest to use posting block funcionality to minimize this issue if it occuring repeatitly.

How do I change the settings of sounds occuring when starting and closing?

I'd like to change the sound effects that I hear when booting iMac or closing it, even when error sound occurs. I'm used to doing this in the past on Windows ME and 200 and would like to do it on my new iMac with Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6.2). I don't like the selection on the sounds in the System Preferences, either. Will add others and remove most of what's already there.

Get used to not customizing much at all in Mac OS. I've heard of a few third-party apps that allow you to adjust the volume, but not the sound itself. Check in MacUpdate or VersionTracker.
Along the customizing vein, there are a few programs that allow you to change the look of the windows and icons. I tried them long ago and never saw anything that I liked better, and they always broke when new versions of the OS were released. So, I don't know what the state of those are these days.
To add sounds, make sure they are aiff's and just put them in /Library/Sounds for all users or your username/Library/Sounds just for you. I really don't think you should remove the default ones.

Can't change the master page after upgrading to SharePoint 2013.

After upgrading our farm to SharePoint 2013 we are having trouble changing the master page for sites that don't have sub-sites. We are still using the v4 UI version, and that appears to be what is causing the problem. The error we get when going to /_layouts/ChangeSiteMasterPage.aspx
is:

Thanks Mike - Could you please share what is your next step then? I also have custom master pages and layout but I am going to make new master page and layout in 2013 as we need to change the existing branding too. so, i upgrade the site collection. I understand
the Look and Feel will not persist after the upgrade but I am concern that at least the page should show the content on the page after the upgrade. The page had Calendar webppart on it but after the upgrade it is coming blank.
any suggestion?
