Jasmine

Hi Jasmine84 and welcome to the Apple Discussions forums.
Sorry to contradict you, MacMini, but Macs sold here in the United Arab Emirates come with Arabic/English keyboards that show both alphabets on one keyboard; I am typing this message on one now.
That being said, I doubt you could get one in the United States, except if you order the macbook from one of the resellers out here where it will inevitably be more expensive, plus shipping charges on top of that (but Jasmine84's post does not indicate where she is posting from).
If you want to learn more, try contacting www.appleme.ae or calling them in Dubai at +971.4.366.9797.
That being said, even with a Mac bought in the United States you have soft keyboard support for Arabic; this means that you have, built-in, the ability to type using two different Arabic keyboards -- one is laid out like a standard Arabic typewriter, the other is laid out like a QWERTY keyboard with Arabic letters on the keys where their English equivalents would be (for example ف would be over the letter F and ج would be over the letter J). You can call up a "keyboard viewer" that lets you see the selected keyboard layout on-screen.

    Nobody in these forums represents Apple or any store.  So to find out whether you can buy something, you must contact stores or consult their websites directly yourself.   If not available in the online store, try contacting a retail store and see if they can make a special order

    Apple stores do not ship abroad.

    I'm building a user interface for my application, some of the fields are in arabic and others are in English, I want to change the keyboard language according to the fields the cursor in, I tried to send KeyEvent once the cursor entered the text field. [[ KeyEvent ev = new KeyEvent(this, KeyEvent.KEY_RELEASED, 1, KeyEvent.ALT_DOWN_MASK, KeyEvent.VK_SHIFT, KeyEvent.CHAR_UNDEFINED,KeyEvent.KEY_LOCATION_RIGHT); ]] but it didn't work! could any body help me please?

    Locale is already setted.

    native languge(korean). So I'd like to set input-mode per text-field when get focus for user convenient by programing code . But I can't find the toggle key code.
    Is there any idea to do this?

    After updating with ios7, I cannot proceed because I cannot enter my password since it uses Greek letters but the keyboard available is Latin. How can I change the keyboard to Greek?

    try tapping holding on the key that would be most similar to the letter you want to enter, that will bring up a menu of other characters similar to that character and maybe the greek letter will be included in that menu

    How do you change the keyboard to show the words that you might be typing?  I had it when I first updated but somehow I changed it>

    Sometimes, you might be in a message and accidentally minimize the predictive feature.  If that happens, just swipe UP on the dashed icon right above the keyboard and it will bring it back up.

    My midi set up is fairly extensive, and what I've done is keep an up to date diagram of all my midi interfaces and device connections. I use this as the desktop background on my studio mac, and just hit F11 when I need to reference something. Simple but effective.

  • When I type letters keep repeating and I did change the keyboard

    When I type letters they keep repeating. I have already changed the keyboard.

    Hi there Thernon,
    You may want to double check the key repeat settings. Take a look at the article below for more information.

  • Can't change the keyboard layout in Xorg

    I tried the different possibilities in the wiki to change the keyboard layout in X. setxkbmap does work, but I'd like to keep the settings across reboots. I tried the two methods in the wiki, here are my config files:
    /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/00-keyboard.conf (created by localectl)
    # Read and parsed by systemd-localed. It's probably wise not to edit this file
    # manually too freely.
    Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "system-keyboard"
    MatchIsKeyboard "on"
    Option "XkbLayout" "de,ru"
    Option "XkbModel" "pc104"
    Option "XkbVariant" ","
    Option "XkbOptions" "grp:alt_shift_toggle"
    EndSection
    /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-keyboard.conf (manually created)
    Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "system-keyboard"
    MatchIsKeyboard "on"
    Option "XkbLayout" "de,ru"
    Option "XkbModel" "pc104"
    Option "XkbVariant" ","
    Option "XkbOptions" "grp:alt_shift_toggle"
    EndSection
    But the output of "setxkbmap -print -verbose 10" shows german and us-english layout:
    Setting verbose level to 10
    locale is C
    Trying to load rules file ./rules/evdev...
    Trying to load rules file /usr/share/X11/xkb/rules/evdev...
    Success.
    Applied rules from evdev:
    rules: evdev
    model: pc104
    layout: de,us
    variant: ,
    options: grp:alt_shift_toggle
    Trying to build keymap using the following components:
    keycodes: evdev+aliases(qwertz)
    types: complete
    compat: complete
    symbols: pc+de+us:2+inet(evdev)+group(alt_shift_toggle)
    geometry: pc(pc104)
    xkb_keymap {
    xkb_keycodes { include "evdev+aliases(qwertz)" };
    xkb_types { include "complete" };
    xkb_compat { include "complete" };
    xkb_symbols { include "pc+de+us:2+inet(evdev)+group(alt_shift_toggle)"};
    xkb_geometry { include "pc(pc104)" };
    Does anybody know what I am doing wrong? I would appreciate any help.
    Thomas

    In your .xinitrc file put setxkbmap yy & (yy=country code for example de) before it executes your de/wm.

  • Changing the keyboard increment when...

    I would like to change the keyboard increment when attmpting to increase/decrease the size of an image using command-option-< and >
    Currently it jumps in the oddest incrememnt, not even a whole number. Increasing the size from 100% makes the result 105.10100501000001% Where does THAT come from?
    I'd like to be able to change it, to, say, 5% increments or 2% increments. Any guesses?

    @Peter – I did not test with InDesign CS6, just CS5.5. I just doubleclicked in the Scripts Panel.
    And my preferences were set to:
    Scaling: Apply to Contents
    Maybe this is just a CS5.5 issue. Had no time for further testing…
    @Jongware –  finished one script, but did not test much.
    The one that just scales frames + contents in increments of 1%, if contents is a graphic.

    You may want to wait for others to see this thread who might offer some other suggestions, but you could consider resetting the password. These instructions work for Lion (10.7.x) and Mountain Lion (10.8.x).

  • Trying to change the keyboard layout on my 5800

    I simply want to change the keyboard layout to Dvorak (because that is the layout I use).  It is not one you can buy the phone with.
    I've done many hours of searching and it seems the only thing that may have done it was MagicKey which can remap keys.  However MagicKey is now UNUSABLE because it is not signed and the Symbian people do not allow you to sign it in any way (even self sign) if you are not the original developer of the app.
    Am I missing something ?  Why is Nokia's S60 platform so closed ?
    Thanks for reading this!

    I have changed the keyboard on my iBook G4 (OS 10.5) to a Japanese JIS Keyboard but cannot get the Keyboard Setup Assistant to run and recognise it. Some symbols don't match. What can I do to get the new keyboard recognised/installed? The keyboard setup assitant looks as if it will open when clicked on but does not.

    You may need to reset the pmu.  See this article:
