Changing the navigation bar - help!

Hi,
I'm making my personal website with iWeb (using the "Modern" template as a base) and I would like to personalise the navigation bar. I have already managed to change the colours of the words modifying the xml file for the template, but I would like the Menu to start about one inch further to the right, because I want to put the logo on the left hand side.
I would also like to change the font size.
I’ve searched already on many forums everywhere and I haven’t found anything really useful.
Please, could anyone tell me exactly how to do this? I would need step-by-step instructions, because I’m not the “coder” type.
I hope you can help me. Thank you very much.

Go to:
11mystics.com
they have tutorials on changing templates and other stuff. I think they have one on changing fonts.
The notation I found in this thread suggests NOT messing with nav bar settings ...but here is the thread:

Also, with iWeb 08 ...some of the software architecture has changed and may not work down the road. Luck...

  • Need to change the navigation bar direction in my site!

    I've got my site up and am working with it. I have some sense of HTML coding. My question/situation:
    I changed the name of my Home.html page to index.html so that google analytics could spider all my external and internal links. This went off with one major hitch... all the pages after the index page still send "Home" in their navigation bar to Home.html which no longer exists. Where can I find the file/feed/script or whatever to change the internal coding to direct that old Home in the navigation bar to my new index file?
    My site is www.womenswellnessmarketplace.com
    Thanks..I do realize that the themes are different in the home page and the following pages...thats my next big task!!

    Don't know what I did but it seems to be working now!

  • [Forum FAQ] Customize the Navigation Bar in Outlook 2013

    In Outlook 2013, the Navigation Bar is a gray bar which lists commands at the bottom of the Outlook window that enable you to quickly navigate to Mail, Calendar, People, and Tasks.
    You can change the Navigation Bar settings for a single user by clicking
    … and then Navigation Options. For more information, please refer:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/change-what-appears-on-the-navigation-bar-HA102838974.aspx
    However, if you want to change the Navigation Bar settings for all users in your organization, you’ll need to modify the registry.
    Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that
    you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756.
    To modify the Compact view
    To maximize the vertical height of the Outlook window you can use Compact Navigation. We can change the setting by creating the
    ABCompact registry key. To do this, please follow the steps:
    1. Press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type regedit
    and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
    2. Locate the following registry path:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Options
    3. Right-click on the Options folder and select NEW > KEY, name it
    WunderBar.
    4. Select the WunderBar key, right-click on it and select
    NEW > DWORD (32-bit) Value and name it ABCompact.
    Value name: ABCompact
    Value type: DWORD (32-bit)
    Value: 1 to tick the Compact Navigation;
    0 to untick it.
    5. Restart Outlook to make the change.
    To modify the Maximum number of visible items
    To change how many views appear on the Navigation Bar, you need to change the number for Maximum number of visible items by modifying the
    NumBigModulesAB registry key.
    Value path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Preferences
    Value name: NumBigModulesAB
    Value type: REG_DWORD
    Value: 1-8
    The key doesn’t exist by default. When the value is set to 1, only
    Mail will appear on the Navigation Bar. If the value is set to
    8, all views will appear.
    To modify which view is turned on or off
    You can also turn one or more views off from the Navigation Bar. This is controlled by a registry string named
    ModuleVisible15.
    Value path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Preferences
    Value name: ModuleVisible15
    Value type: REG_SZ
    Value: 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,0,0
    By default, the string value is set to 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,0,0.
    1 means the view is turned on while 0 means the view is turned off. Moreover, the value correspond one-to-one with the views, for example, the first “1” correspond to
    Mail, and the second “1” correspond to
    Calendar… By default, the eighth and ninth view is turned off. The eighth is
    Journal and I have no idea what the ninth number stands for. You can open Journal by pressing Ctrl+8, but if you want it to appear on Navigation Bar, you can change the eighth “0” to “1”.
    To modify the view order
    If you want to switch the positions of Mail and Calendar, you’ll need to modify the
    ModuleOrderAB string.
    Value path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Preferences
    Value name: ModuleOrderAB
    Value type: REG_SZ
    Value: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
    The default order for the Navigation Bar is:
    Mail  Calendar  People  Tasks  Notes  Folders  Shortcuts
    Journal
    In the registry string there are 9 numbers (1~9), let’s just ignore 9. So, there are 8 numbers left and each number has some relationships to each Navigation item.
    Here is the logic:
    There are 8 Navigation Options. Let’s say ‘Mail’ is Nav1, Calendar is Nav2, People is Nav3, …, Shortcut is the Nav7 and Journal is Nav8.
    Meanwhile, there are 8 positions to put those 8 Navigation items, we name them
    position1 to position8, from left to right.
    For example,    CALENDAR  TASKS  PEOPLE  FOLDERS  MAIL  NOTES  SHORTCUTS
    Journal
    ModuleOrderAB=    5
    1              3
    2              6
    4
    7
    8
    The number “5” is in the first position of the ModuleOrderAB string and it takes
    position1. The default navigation option for position1 is
    Mail.
    So, “5” means put Nav1 (Mail) on position5.
    “1” is on position2, default navigation item on
    position2 is Calendar. It means put Calendar on
    position1.
    So, “3” means put People on position3; “2” means put
    Task on position2… and so on.

    There isn't a built in way to do that since all the navigation toolbars are on one toolbar.
    You can restore this functionality by installing the Classic Theme Restorer add-on

  • Changing a Navigation Bar

    So I've chose the 'Main Stage' template (I think that's what it's called) and I'm customising it myself. I want to change the colour of the navigation bar and get rid of the footer at the bottom. To get rid of the footer I've just reduced the footer size, is that the best thing to do? And I can cant find a way of changing the navigation bar's colour????
    Help!
    Cheers

    Regarding the footer the only way to get rid of it is to set it to zero in the Inspector/Page/Layout pane.
    As for the links color, that's all controlled by javascript and not readily doable. Cyclosaurus has posted various javascript bits to use in HTML snippets to modify the links. The only color script I've found of his is to change the rollover color. You can read about it near the middle of this demo page: Misc. Items.
    You can have much more control over the navbar by creating your own Text Based Navbar. Deactivate the built in navbar and create a text box with the links in the font (Web Safe Font only). The downside is that you will have to copy an past the text box on each page the first time an any time you add or remove a page.

  • Workaround to change lollipop navigation bar?

    I am creating themes with Theme Creator. I realize that it does not support Lollipop yet, and know that it's already in the works and there is no use complaining. However, it is clear that some theme creators have found a way to change the navigation bar buttons. I have installed themes like Clean Foggy and Mad Max on my Z1s with Lollipop and, for better or worse, they change the navigation bar. The is even a line in the permissions list indicating that they do so, complete with a Lollipop icon, so this is clearly a functionality that is available. So if it is not available through Theme Creator, what other program must I download to access it? Must it be changed completely through code as a from-scratch Android app?

    Hi Khaled, Theme-creator-v0_0_3-BETA will not completely support lollipop, Only some features will work. Some colors will not change.It will be supported in next version of theme-creator. Regards,
    Shreyas.

    I'm creating a movie website for TDKR and for the navigation bar, I intend to have a different character for each tab. However, I'm having trouble putting a single image each separate tab. Instead one image appears on each of the tabs. Here's an example of the source and CSS.

        </ul>
        </td>
    #navigation {
              list-style-type: none;
              padding: 0px;

              text-decoration: none;
              text-align: center;
              line-height: 100px;
              font-family: "Trebuchet MS", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
              font-weight: bold;

              background-image: url(../Images/gifs/Batman-still-2.gif);
              background-position: center bottom;

              background-position: center bottom;
              background-color: #454545;
              border-radius: 25px;
    So, how do I put a single image on each tab (home, cast, pictures, etc). Thank you for your help in advance.

    Assign a class to the item and use CSS to apply an image as in
    <li><a href="../pages/index.html" class="home;">Home</a></li><br />
    <li><a href="../pages/cast.html">Cast</a></li><br />
    <li><a href="../pages/pictures.html">Pictures</a></li><br />
    <li><a href="../pages/soundtrack.html">Music</a></li><br />
    <li><a href="../pages/interview.html">Interviews</a></li><br />
    <li><a href="../pages/links.html">Links</a></li><br />
    and the CSS
    #navigation li a:link.home, #navigation li a:visited.home {
         background-image: url(../Images/gifs/Batman-still-2.gif);

  • Why can't i change the link on the navigation bar?

    In previous versions of Muse i was able to change the link on my navigation bar. For example I was able double click on the navigation bar and highlight one of the pages (let's say registration) and it would allow me to change the link on the registration page so that when you click on the registraion page it would take you to https://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/eventReg?llr=5qqftnkab&oeidk=a07e69lauti1b 52a1df&oseq=a011mh5tw6bs2 and a not regular page on the website. but now when i try to do the same thing the link area is greyed out and i can't change anything.

    I have installed v2.3 on my Mac, and had to go through and change all the fonts back due to a naming issue in Windows.  That's ok.
    But there are several things that need to be fixed in Muse.  First, everything should work consistently.  If you click on an object that has a hyperlink or a link to another page in the document, that link should be displayed in the control bar.  NO EXCEPTIONS.
    The control bar should have enough sense to get bigger -- i.e. go to a second row of controls -- whenever there are items that are not being displayed due to window width.  Most sensible programs do not just display part of the info and then leave a blank space to the right, letting the user assume that there is nothng more to be displayed.  While I have 2560 x 1600 monitors, I am running Muse on a 27 inch 1920 x 1200 to avoid eyestrain from the tiny menus.  But there are times I need to make a window much wider than 1920 in order to display everything in the control bar -- and then slide the entire window back and forth.  Poor GUI design.
    I now have a master page menu (all the buttons send the user to other pages in the document) where one of the buttons is sending users to a dead link.  Used to work perfectly, have not changed the name or the link.
    I tried the above advice about opening page without hyperlink (how damnably counterintuitive is that maneuver?) and could then -- voila -- get the hyperlink menu for that menu item and select the page.  I was ecstatic -- until it turned out it didn't work -- either with open page w/hyperlink or without it selected.
    AGAIN -- I will repeat -- one should be able to click on ANYTHING -- a text box, a picture, a menu item, etc. -- and assign a hyperlink from the SAME hyperlink menu -- without exception.  Having different ways to accomplish the same thing is fine unless you can't use any of those methods all the time.
    The ability to resize the assets window so that one could read (without having to hover over each item) the FULL name of an image file, etc, would also be useful.
    BAD DESIGN.  Please fix it.  And tell my how to get my missing link back.

  • How can i edit / customize the font in the navigation bar in iweb?r

    how can I edit / customize font size and color in the navigation bar on an iweb created page?

    This tutorial may help: #24 - How to Change the Basic, Rollover and Visited Color of an iWeb Navbar.  It only applies to the various colors.
    Wyodor has posted code to be put in an HTML snippet that will increase the font size.
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    navDiv = parent.document.getElementById("widget0-navbar-list");
    navDiv.setAttribute("style", "font-size: 1.1em;");
    // -->
    </script>
    Increase the size by increments of .1 until you get the size you want.  You'll need to publish the site before you'll see the change.
    If you only have a couple of pages in your site you can create your own text based navbar.  That will give you complete  control over font, size, color, spacing, etc. However, be sure to use only  Web Safe Fonts or the navbar will not look like you want it on those computers that do not have the font you used installed. This demo page is an example: Text Based Navbar.  With more than a couplke of pages updating such a navbar can become a real pain.  However, it is much more search engine friendly.

  • Adding ana archive page with a link in the Navigation bar

    I am really new to all this so don't think that I'm a 'tard. I am building a blog on '06 and I like most of what I can do, but I can't figure out a couple of things. My current blog is with Godaddy (pronounced blow-daddy) and with that blog I have archives, recent entries and a calendar. Is there any way that I can duplicate that here? If not, how about just adding a blank page that I use for archives. I know that I already have one but I can't seem to make it visible in the navigation bar. Any help?

    No, you have to have a page for it to show up in navbar.
    The work around is to use refresh tag to redirect to your email address, here is how:
    http://www.geocities.com/[email protected]/Test/Front.html
    1) make a Front page
    2) make a Contact page, link Contact page to Front page's navbar
    3) editing Front page: search for href="Contact.html" change to target="_blank" href="Contact.html"
    4) copy contents of index.html
    5) editing Contact page: replace contents of Contact the contents of index.html
    6) search for http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url= some page.html" change it to http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=mailto:[email protected]"
    7) add the following to the end of Contact.html
    <script language="Javascript">
    <!--
    setInterval("window.close()",2000);
    -->
    </script>

  • Why has the "Reload current page" control been moved to the navigation bar Firefox 29? I would like to be able to place it where I had it in Firefox 28.

    After getting the Firefox 29 download I tried to rearrange my buttons\controls to where I was used to having them in Firefox 28 and prior. I noticed, in particular, that the "Reload current page" control is no longer available to be set in front of the navigation bar where I've had it for years now. The reason I chose Firefox in the first place was because I could customize it to my liking. I know you can simply right click and "Reload" the tab or just get used to going to the end (right side) of the navigation bar but that defeats the purpose completely for me.
    Here's an analogy; Ford decides they will now replace current model cars in the US with British standard style vehicles. Every car sold by Ford will now be right-hand steer. While this may seem like a "no biggy" to some, others, especially those of us who are inclined to drive standard transmission vehicles, may be a bit resistant to that change. Not sure if I successfully made my point or not but hopefully I did.
    Initially I thought I'd start by "Has someone fallen and hit their head?' or "Did Steve Ballmer suddenly take over Mozilla, in particular the build of Firefox 29, because this one smells like a Windows 8 (aka the aroma of a full sewer tank on a hot day)?" It is understood that updates are required and as an IT guy, I've been around for many a faux pas where the kinks just need to be worked out. They happen. Maybe some consideration will be made with Firefox 30 to those of us in the states that are used to left-hand steer vehicles.
    I may be missing something here, and will gladly fall on my sword if that is the case, but there is no indication that I've seen from the Mozilla sight that the "Reload current page" control can be manipulated in any way as of Firefox 29. On the bright side, I now have a good reason to go back and review some of the browsers I discounted back in the day when I decided to go with Firefox.

    As far as I know, [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/ the Classic Theme Restorer add-on] is the only way move the Reload button outside the address bar.
    # Install [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/ Classic Theme Restorer] and restart Firefox when prompted.
    # Open the Add-ons Manager (Ctrl+Shift+A; Mac: Command+Shift+A), then the Extensions category.
    # Next to Classic Theme Restorer, click the Options button.
    # On the Main tab, make sure "Movable back-forward button" and "Hide urlbars stop & reload buttons" are checked. You might also want to check "Combine stop & reload buttons". Close the options window when done.
    # Right-click an empty area of the tab bar and choose Customize.
    # Drag the Back/Forward, Stop and Reload buttons onto the navigation toolbar.
    # Click the Exit Customize button in the lower right corner when done.
    That being said, I should point out that you can reload pages in other ways.
    * Right-click any tab and choose Reload.
    * Right-click an empty area of the page and choose Reload.
    * Press F5.
    * Press Ctrl+R (Mac: Command+R).
