Changing the next spool number

Hello,
Can anyone tell me in what transaction I control the next spool number that
will be created when a job is sent to a device in SAP R/3 ?

How to show the next available number to populate

I have a page which displays all of my columns.
My second column are numbers. If the 3rd column is filled in, the data on all of the columns will be displayed including the 2nd column on this page.
If the 3rd column is not filled in yet, only the next number of the 2nd column will be displayed somewhere on the page together with the rest of the data mentioned above. This number will be the next higher available number, or in other words, the next lowest number without something filled in for the 3rd column.
So when I click on this number, I can go to the next page to at least populate column 3. Thanks.

Let me see if I can explain better.
I have a table with all fields displayed including the edit icon on the left.
Let me see if I can illustrate this. Let the capital letters be columns of this table.
And let the data be as shown under the lettered columns. Here is a hypothetical sample of the data. The ...... is just to make the spacing happen for the columns to line up in this example

edit 1 8 .c .d e 02-MAY-2008
edit....9...........-- would like to display this line
I would like to display the next available number for column B (in this case number 9 since it is after 8) for me to be able to edit by filling in data in the rest of the columns.
Now, for column B, I have number 9 all the way to say, 1000 available in the database but with no other data, just the number itself existing. Because these numbers (like 9) in column B have no data yet in colunm C, it will not be displayed in the table because there is no data to look at.
So after I can add data to column C and maybe other columns, then when I apply changes will #9 and its data show up in the table after data 8 and then #10 will show up as the next number available to receive data where 9 use to appear.

How to change the listener port number on a standby database

i want to change the listener port number from 1525 to 1545, which is running on a standby database.
i did the following steps and got some error.
1. i stop listener and modfy listener.ora
2. i login in standby DB and issue 'alter system set local_listener='(address=(pro=tcp)(host=10.10.10.10)(port=1545))';'
3. i login in dg broker and issue 'edit database 's1' set property 'LocalListenerAddress'='(address=(pro=tcp)(host=10.10.10.10)(port=1545))';' and a error coming out ORA-16703: cannot set the property while the database is enabled
4. then i disable database
DGMGRL> disable database 'ssmscs';
5. DGMGRL> edit database 's1' set property 'LocalListenerAddress'='(address=(pro=tcp)(host=10.10.10.10)(port=1545))';
Error: ORA-16541: site is not enabled
Configuration details cannot be determined by DGMGRL
what can i do ? can anybody help me out? thanks in advance.

Possible to change the default spool request title ?

Hello,
I'm SAP Basis guy, I've been asked by our functional team if it would be possible to change the default spool request title.
Our endusers have access to transaction SP01, where every morning, they can see the spools request that have been generated during the execution of night batches.
Currently, the default spool name is displayed :
Title or name of spool request LIST1S LOCL ZREPORTSUFFIX (in transactions sm37 and sp01)
Is it possible to change the default name of this spool request with some abap coding ?

goto transaction SPAD and change the default values as you require but i doubt whether you would be able to change the spool title after the job has been triggered i think it is nt possible
but for further requests you can change it from SPAD

Please see the solution given by Brendan O'Brien for the thread "GL Alternative Acct Number - error message FH007" in this forum.
Anyway, I am copying the text from the same thread. Hope this should be useful to you.
If you have a "Country-specific chart of accounts" assigned to the GL Account then it is correct that you cannot change the alternative Account number.
However if you do not have a "Country-specific chart of accounts" Assigned and yet you still cannot make this change
See note 305203. This note will prevent this message where no "Country-specific chart of accounts" is assigned.
If you do have a "Country-specific chart of accounts" assigned then unfortunately you cannot change this error message, as FH007 is hardcoded as an error.
However, a possible workaround which you may like to try could be:
Deassign the country chart of accounts from OBY6,the company code global settings. Then it is possible to enter an alternative account number on the G/L master record irrespective of whether there is a balance on the account or not. Once the alternative account number is saved, reassign the country chart of accounts to the company code.
However, as displayed, your account balancee is infact zero.
The note will prevent the error message FH 007 where no "Country-specific chart of accounts" has been assigned to the corresponding company code. However, in your case, it sounds like you have a "Country-specific chart of accounts" assigned to the company code. Hence the error message.

Greetings all,
I have just become the proud father of a weblogic 9 installation and the admin before me changed the admin port number. As I have NO experience with weblogic, could someone be so kind as to tell me where I can find the port number being used for the admin console?

First, try port 9002 (https) since that's the default.
If that doesn't work, have a look in DOMAIN_DIR\config\config.xml. In there you'll find something like this:
<administration-port>1234</administration-port>

Question - changing the NEXT extend size manually

Hi Guys,
I would like to get clarification on the subjected topic. During DB reorg, we have an option to change the next extend size manulay. If I want to change the next extend size , which is the best practise to follow on deciding the next extend size? Is there any method to calculate the best next extend size?
Also, I would like to know , after a DB reorg - how continuous freespace in a tablespace changes...(i.e) DB02 --> Freespace statistics --> Tablespace --> freespace analysis
Does the continuous freespace has any direct relation with the next extend size that we choos during the DB reorg?
Please also share the link if there is any literature on this topic.

Hi Vinod,
With New Versions of Oracle like 9i onwards DB reorg can be online and has featute of LMTS ( Locally managed Tablespaces) which eliminates the earlier limitaion of MAXEXTENTS and NEXT_EXTENT parameters.
However if you are operating on earlier oracle version then you need to decide on the value of NEXT_EXTENT depending on the MAXEXTENTS value. If MAXEXTENTS limit is reaching rapidly then you can set NEXT_EXTENT to higher value but with disadvantage of incompletely filled blocks and hence wasteage of space.
Freespace released doesnot hv any direct relation with next extent size. Freelists parameter will decide whether particular block is available or not.

Can't change the Message Centre Number in my Nokia...

I have a 3 day old Nokia X. I can't send text messages due to wrong the message centre number set in my Nokia X device. When I try to change it in settings, a pop-up appears which say "It is bad to change SMSC Number. Do you want to change ?". I choose "Ok". Then nothing changes Message Centre Number is set on "+7" and does not changes. I have tried many things including removing battery and SIM Card without switching off the device and reseting the device to Factory Defaults. But the problem persists. It doesn't changes. I live in New Delhi, India.
Any help will be appriciated.

No I am not able to resolve the issue.
I reset my phone without the SIM Card also but same thing repeats. I can't change the Message Centre Number. It reverts to +7 when I try and change it in settings with the pop up "Changing the SMSC may cause problems sending messages, to confirm the change ?". Then I tap "OK" and nothing changes the Message Centre Number is still +7.

A1 x A2 = A3 A4 is A3 divided by 2.88. Indeed to round up the answer in A4 to the next whole number
Eg 4.5 x 3.7 = 16.6 sq meters as an area , divided by 2.88 ( area of 1 board) = 5.78 boards so I need to buy 6 and quote for 6

Get the last spool number created

Hi,
I need to get the last spool number that the system has assigned to an output ABAP list.
I know that the SO_SPOOL_READ function give the information I want but I do not find the way to obtain the code. I thought that this function is an internal function of SAP, but it does not exist.
Could anyone facilitate that code?
Do anyone know other way to obtain that last spool number?

Your instructons were just what I needed.
Finally, I use the sy-uname restriction to select the last spool number created for the user:
DATA: BEGIN OF it     OCCURS 0,
        RQIDENT   LIKE TSP01-RQIDENT,
        RQCRETIME LIKE TSP01-RQCRETIME,
    END OF it.
SELECT * FROM TSP01
    APPENDING CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE it
      WHERE
        RQOWNER = SY-UNAME
      ORDER BY RQCRETIME DESCENDING.
LOOP AT it.
    spool_num = it-rqident.
    EXIT.
ENDLOOP.

Can we change the goal to number of steps instead of calories?
I don't care the calories as I am a skinny person, what I care is the volume of exercise like number of steps?
Seems other brand like Fitbit are all using that as the goal standard, Apple should open this option as well.

I agree... it makes sense to be able to change the goals to steps.
However, you may want to consider how you look at calories. Most people think of calories with regard to dieting. However, it is really just a measurement of energy used. For example, yesterday I went on a 3 mile hike to a nearby mountain top (1200' elevation gain) and noticed I has about 5,000 steps and burned 500 calories to get there. On the way back, I also had about 5000 steps, but burned only about 200 calories.
If these were two separate workouts, both would be 5000 steps, but the first one used over twice the energy than the first. To me, the calories used is a much better metric to compare workouts (and a logical choice for a fitness goal). Calories also lets you compare different workout types (walking, running, biking, etc.) that you can't compare with steps.
