Changing the SAP SID

Hi Gurus
i need to build a dev system from PRD with a different SID on ERP6 ,sql2005 .What would be the best and easiest  method to use.
Any ideas are most welcome

Hi Frank,
There are different ways to perform your activity.
1. Perform homogeneous system copy using export / import which takes lot of time but it is very clean.
2, Perforom homogeneous system copy using db specific backup / restore porcess which is easy and takes less time.
3. Perform DB specific backup / restore on target system and just reinstall central instance which is fast
For MS SQL database i goto manual back up restore on target system and just reinstall Central instance and start post processing which is unavoidable in all the cases.
If you expect any specific details feel free to contact.
Thanks,
Kiran.

    Hi,
To customize any Business package DC's, you need to configure NWDI, deploy your BP, get the configuration to your local NWDS, then import the DC's to your local NWDS, make changes and then save.

  • After rotating video, how do I change the black side bars from black to white?

In the bad old days when I used iMovie, I coud rotate a video 90 degrees and get black bars on either side of the video.  Then I could add the negative effect and it would not only give me the negative of the video itself but it would also change the black bars to white bars, something I quite liked for the project I was working on.  This doesn't automatically happen in FCP X, so my question is How do I change the black sidebars to white sidebars (without changing anything in the video itself)?  Thanks.

Make a white generator and put it underneath the video. The pillars are not black. They're empty.

  • How to change the existing sap logon ticket

    HI
I did the System copy from my production server to Quality server.
Now everthing is working except Single Sign On.  This is due to SAPlogon ticket.
the SAPlogon ticket show the PRD sid. I am not able to change the existing sid in ticket.
Tell me how to chage the old saplogon ticket with new one.
Workaround i did in my server.
generated the new certificate for Quality server  and try to import in R/3 000 client.  but not successful.

    Hello Lee,
You dont have to import the certificate from R/3 into portal
we have to generate the certificate in portal and then import in R/3
To generate the portal certificate in quality Portal system and uploading in R/3,please find the method:
Log on to the Visual Admin of Portal with administrator id and password. Go to the following node: Server 0 1_34158->services and then Key Storage
In Key Storage, go to TicketKeyStorage
    Under Entry, choose Create.
The Key and Certificate Generation dialog appears
Enter the Subject Properties in the corresponding fields
    CN=<Common Name>, OU=<Organization Unit Name>, O=<Organization Name>, L=< Locality Name >, ST=<State/Province>, C=DE. give SID of portal in CN
Give the Entry name as SAPLogonTicketKeypair.
Select Algorithm as DSA,also click on store certificate and then generate
You will see along with SAPLogonTicketKeypair, SAPLogonTicketKeypair-cert will also get generated.
Now we will have to import this SAPLogonTicketKeypair-cert in the ABAP systems
First we will have to download the certificate from the portal.
Now logon to the SAP Netweaver Portal with user administrator
Go to System Administration->System Configuration and then Keystore Administration.
In the Content tab you will find the list of certificates
We have to download SAPLogonTicketKeypair-cert .Click on Download verify.der file
    To your desktop
Now we have to import the certificate in ABAP system.
Log on to the ABAP system 000 client and use T-Code STRUSTSSO2
Under Certificate, click on Import certificate
Give the path of verify.der file. The file format should be Binary
    And upload it.
Now you can see the certificate has been uploaded. Check for the validity
Now click on Add to certificate to add this.
Now click on Add to ACL.
Enter System ID as the portal SID(i.e is SPQ) and client as 000 and click on Ok
    Then save your entries
    Hope this makes it clear

    Hello,
Due to some reasones ,we shoud chang the R3 sid from PR3(instance number is 00) to QR3 on one IBM iseries host .As we read some relatives doc about system copy ,we decide use method of exoprt/import to do this. But there are paramter that really confuse me now.In the step of SAP system instance indentification,I hesitate the instance number should be set.Should I choose a new number or keep the value that PR3 used(instance number is 00).BTW,is there two instance or just one instance in the host after I change the system sid

  • How to change the field length in standard sap program.

    Hi All,
How to change the field length in standard sap program.
    Urgent
    Example:
    Text1 type c length 75,
    To change :
    Text1 type c length 150,
    Point will be rewarded..
    Thank you,
    Vikram.C

If the only solution is to change the sap standard program, simply change the program, it will prompt for an access key. This key can be retrieved in the SAP support portal (service.sap.com) at keys and requests, sccr keys, register object.
Sometimes these actions are outsourced to a competence center, so maybe youre not entitled to do this, in any case ask a resident senior developer for support.

I have an image that is basically a bunch of blue dots.  On a keyframe, I want to change the left side of the image to red dots.  How can I do this?

    Here's another way:
Apply the effect to an adjustment layer, and create a mask on the adjustment layer to define the area that the effect should affect.
Since you're new to After Effects, I strongly recommend that you begin here and work your way through the basic learning resources first.

      kamal

    Hello Kamal,
PLZ is an character format with the length 8. In VBScript it is a string.
You can use e.g. the VBScript commands CLng(PLZ) to convert it into a number, FormatNumber to format the number or any other string command. What do you mean exactly with change character format? From ASCII to Unicode or from one character set to another, maybe from ISCII to TSCII?

  • IP Change on SAP Servers

    Hi,
The purpose of this question is because our company is moving the main headquarters to another plant and we need to move the site, and this also includes the SAP Servers to another location.
So we need to change the IP addresses for every SAP Server that we have.
    We have the following architecture:
1 SAP application server defined with hostname SAP-APP (Production system). Operating System is Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition with Service Pack 2.
1 SAP DB Server defined with hostname PRODUCCION (Productive DB). Database is MS SQL Server 2000 with Service Pack 4 and Operating System Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition with Service Pack 2.
1 QAS and DEV Server with a local Database defined with the hostname QAS_DEV. Operating System is Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition with Service Pack 2 and the database is MS SQL Server 2000 with Service Pack 4.
We do not use Print Servers or IP Printers on SAP, we use default printers for every user, using the SWIN: Windows printing via SAPlpd.
Our SAP Version is SAP ERP Central Component 5.0.
    Notes related.
And then, we checked the related notes and topics on market place for changing an IP address to a SAP Server and found the following ones:
Note 403708 – Changing an IP address.
Note 88346 – Changing the RFC destination if IP changes are made.
Note 25917 – Changing to /etc/hosts are not accepted.

    Hi,
you are not changing the SAP System Host name, you are only change the IP address SAP Server.
for that you are only worried about the RFC destination which are created using IP  address of host,
you need to change those RFC and assign correct IP address.

  • BO SSO with the SAP front end tool

    Hi ,
I am trying to go with SSO in the BO 3.0 version but i an facing an error when i am trying to create the ticket .... i am pasting the error and the architecture  of the process kindly help me in this issue....
Please can we have SSO setup in the following envioronments and applications
    BO Systems : B0S/B0D/B0Q/B0P
    EP Systems: S0E/D0E/Q0E/P0E
    Applications: InfoViewApp /CmcApp
This is required for complete implementation of  Business Objects security model because SAP users do not have passwords
Problem Description: (Precise description of problem)
Setup SSO in the following environments and applications :
    BO Systems : B0S/B0D/B0Q/B0P
    EP Systems: S0E/D0E/Q0E/P0E
    Applications: InfoViewApp /CmcApp
This is required for complete implementation of Business Objects security model because SAP users do not have passwords
    Analysis:
SAP side u2013 items already complete:
    - on the SAP side the portal needs to generate tickets for the BI system
    - the BI system needs to trust the Portal
    - the BI system needs to accept SSO tickets
    - all the machines need to be in the same domain
Installation of the complete items can be confirmed by the presents of portal login ticket at these addresses :
Several issues needs to be checked in the Business Objects environment:
    - the SAP authentication needs to be configured for the SAP system
    - the web.xml for InfoView needs to use secSAPR3 as default setting for the authentication
    - the default system in the SAP authentication options should be configured to use your SAP BI system
    - the Business Objects system needs to be in the same domain
Analysis of authorization requirements (Mandatory for programs and tables):
    Solution: (Final solution)
To complete the SSO implementation in the SAP BO environment, these issues should be completed:
1):  Test that the SAP portals actually accepts portal login tickets:
    https://epproduction-app.statoil.no/irj/portal
    https://epquality-app.statoil.no/irj/portal
    https://epdevelopment-app.statoil.no/irj/portal
    https://epsandbox-app.statoil.no:56201/irj/portal
2):  Implement and test the following items:
    - the SAP authentication needs to be configured for the SAP system
    - the web.xml for InfoView needs to use secSAPR3 as default setting for the authentication
    - the default system in the SAP authentication options should be configured to use your SAP BI system
    - the Business Objects system needs to be in the same domain
3): Check that fully qualified URLu2019s for BO systems calls the sso login:
    - This also should be tested and confirmed working by the basis team (EDB) before the task is completed
    - Comparison with production setup today is required
    - Fully operational SSO setup in Prod can be found at:  http://boxi.statoil.no:8080/InfoViewApp/logon.jsp
    Tomcat implementation
SSO setup implicates these reconfiguration elements:
    -     Update of web.xml for InfoViewApp and CmcApp in Tomcat :
This is the correct web.xml setup for SSO (gathered from prod env.):

    Hi Sanjeev,
It is kind of very hard to go through all the details you have written.
You have BO 3.0 and SAP in Back End.
First you have to install BOBJ
    Then install Integration Kit.
Then you have to take some steps in SAP BI side such as creating RFC.
Then you will import your roles into BOBJ by going to CMC.
After that one you will be able to attain SSO.
Have you done all? If yes then exactly what error or issue you are getting? Be brief please.
When you mention any problem mention following.
    What version you have?
What is in the back end?
What service Pack and Fix Pack you installed?
    What environment you have?
What error you are getting and on which step?
    Regards,
    Bashir Awan

    Hi,
all necessary information could be found in the Installation Guide.
The SAP System ID <SAPSID> identifies the whole SAP
    system.
    Caution
Choose your SAP system ID carefully. You cannot change
the SAP system ID after the installation.
Make sure that your SAP system ID:
    - Is unique throughout your organization
    - Consists of exactly three alphanumeric characters
    - Contains only uppercase letters
    - Has a letter for the first character
    - Does not include any of the following, which are reserved
