Changing the Selection Tool

I am using the free download of Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 and I cannot get the selection tool to work. Is this locked out on the trial version?

Why on earth did they change the selection tool key commands?

Am I crazy? I've been using AI for over a decade, and thought I had the keystrokes down to second nature by now. But now every time I try to use keystrokes to switch temporarily to the select, direct select, and group select tools, everything is constantly coming out wrong. This is just confusing the hell out of me. Am I getting Alzheimer's already? Or did they really change something that core to how we work minute by minute? If the latter, what in the name of God inspired that?

The logic is trying to keep keyboard shortcuts consistent between products in the Suite. That way you don't have to remember 4 or 5 different shortcut sets.
You can go into your Keyboard Shortcuts and remap them to a great extent. Like I switched my Direct Selection Tool from no shortcut to Shift-A and the Measure Tool to Shift-H like in the olden days. Save your set and you're good!

Why doesn't my cursor change when I click the selection tool?

When I open any file, the object -- in this case, an image -- is already selected.
I want to enlarge the image so I click the buttons to do that. Normally I would pick 125% or 150%, but the dropdown menu does not open. I tried clicking the up arrow/down arrow buttons. Nothing happened. I tried double-clicking on the numbers to type a percentage; tiny blue horizontal bars appear on either side of the default "100" as if the machine is trying to highlight the number, but can't.
I click the Text tool, get the I-beam, and can click in a text box.
After all that, I click the selection tool. Nothing happens. My cursor is an I-beam. I cannot change it to anything else.
I have installed and uninstalled InDesign several times in an effort to correct this and related problems.
Installed from media -- original disks -- encountered problem -- uninstalled & reinstalled -- problem not solved.
Downloaded installation files from Adobe. Same result.
Uninstalled & reinstalled InDesign only. Still no go.
Reimaged computer back to factory settings, created desktop installation point for CS4, installed CS4 from there. Still no go.
Is it possible that there is some kind of incompatibility between CS4 and my computer? It is a new (one week old) Acer Travelmate laptop. Got it from TigerDirect, a trustworthy merchant.
My OS is Windows 7, but this shouldn't be a problem; CS4 runs fine with Windows 7 on another computer in my house (which, unfortunately, is occupied most of the time, or I would use that).
Any ideas at all?
Please help. I have a project deadline coming up and really need this particular computer to work.

I would give you money if I had money.... The next best thing I can think of to offer thanks is give you a great recipe:
1 pizza crust of your choice
olive oil
8 oz of goat cheese (more or less to suit your taste)
1 medium tomato
6 large cloves of fresh garlic
4-6 oz of sliced black olives (more or less to suit your taste)
fresh or dried basil
For best results, all ingredients should be organic or at least of highest quality available
Oven 350
Pre-heat the oven to 350 (important to do this). Dice the tomato to 1/4-inch bits and dice the garlic to 1/8-bits or as near as you can. Slice the black olives if necessary. Brush the pizza crust with olive oil. Blind bake it for 3 minutes or until two rooms smell really nice.
Spread on the goat cheese. Sprinkle on the basil, tomato, olives and garlic as evenly as you can.
Bake the pie for 15 minutes and check it for doneness to your liking (crispy or not).
Serve with salad and a cold white wine for a nice dinner for two, or cut into 2" squares for appetizers at a party.

When I use the selection tool to move vector points and bend edges, I only see the change in wire frame.

It just previews with a wire frame. I would like to see the preview change on the solid object. Is there a setting somewhere?

What do you mean by wire frame??And are you using selection or sub-selection tool since you have mentioned about vector point I doubt if it is sub-selection tool.Could you please attach a video demonstrating the issue where we see the mismatch in the preview and the output, so that we can understand the problem better and try to resolve it.

Changing the selections in a Group by tool bar in SharePoint Designer to option buttons

I want to simply change the selections from a dropdown to radio buttons in the "Group by:" tool bar in a Data Form Web Part in SharePoint Designer 2010. ANy help will be appreciated.

If you want to use Radio button instead of Dropdown list for the Group by selection, we can use JavaScript to generate the Radio buttons and hide the Dropdown list. When there
is a selection made on Radio buttons, we will trigger the change event of the Dropdown list and filter the Data Form with the corresponding value.

I just downlouded the latest version of the Muse CC and it doesn't work well, it freezes all the time, in particular with the tools. Example the selection tool doesen't wor at all.

I restarted the computer, but the same issue happens again. When I move my mouse over some object or tool, it doesn’t come active at all (only some of the tools works) When I try to change “site properties”, I can’t choose tablet or phone mode or even I can’t select the checkboxes, only thing what I can do is change the numbers (high and width) . After all the main problem is that I can’t select some of the items or functions by mouse, but only by the keyboard.

Problems moving an object with the selection tool

Im working on CS2 and since last week I have a problem moving objects with the selection tool: To move the object I am obligate to select the object first, and then click at the edge/stroke of the object to drag it. Before that I could move the objects just by selecting somewhere in the object and then just drag it to some other place in one step. I think I maybe changed something in the general preferences....

Need clarification using the selection tool

I have some strange (to me) occurrences while using the 'selection tool'...
Explanation:
I'm using PSE11 on a Win 7 (64) PC.
What I want to do is to create a new pic from an existing pic. The existing pic's background is unsuitable for what I want. But the FG is what I need. I thought that selecting the FG object and placing it into a new pic would be what I needed using the <quick selection tool>.
To do this, I am trying to use the <quick selection tool>. I've had varying degrees of success using it. One main thing I don't understand & pretty much renders my task useless, is the fact that whenever I use <refine edge> so that I can refine my edge selection, my pic is immediately lost or taken away. Since I have no idea as to what's happening, I am forced to close the pic (W/O saving changes, of course) & then re-opening the pic. All's well until I use the <refine edge> button again, then, my pic disappears AGAIN!
There are a few more details about this <selection tool> that I'm muddy on. Is there something where I can read more about its use? I would love to know more, but how? Where?
I am not a constant user of PSE, rather, I only use it on occasions. Normally, I use its scanning features. I may play around with a few other features, but I also know that PSE offers many other powerful features, I rarely, if ever, use.

There are many selection tool and way to extract a subject. There are more way in Photoshop then in Photoshop Elements you should ask over in the Elements forum to get answers suitable for elements users. You may get answers here that are not possible to use in Elements. Photoshop Elements

After much research and troubleshooting, GoToMeeting replied with the final answer: We do not support the uploading of recordings to editing software. If you are having issues uploading a recording, unfortunately, we do not have tools or steps to resolve this. It is not a supported feature. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
The no longer plan to support editing of recordings made with their software. So, we are planning to find a new meeting provider.

In version 5, how do I use the selection tool to move objects?

I can use the selection tool to select objects, but when I try to drag it, nothing happens. My workaround is to use the selection tool to select an object, and then use the transform tool to drag the object into its new position. Any help is greatly appreciated.

How can I change the 'selected' color of one JToggleButton only.

This seems like a simple / trivial question, but I just can't figure it out. Is there a way that I can create a JToggleButton and change the selected color of only that JToggleButton.
I'm trying to create a simple sidebar like component for navigation within my app. A group of JToggleButton[s] added to a ButtonGroup (with the proper layout / sizing) works great, but the default JToggleButton colors don't suit my needs. I know that I can change the colors using the UIManager / UIDefaults, but I don't want to change the defaults for every JToggleButton in my app. I only want to change the defaults for a few select JToggleButton[s].
For example, I can do this:
UIManager.put("ToggleButton.select", UIManager.getColor("Table.selectionBackground"));
UIManager.put("ToggleButton.background", UIManager.getColor("Table.background"));but I'd rather do something like this:

As far as I'm concerned, that would defeat the purpose of having a pluggable look and feel as I would have to duplicate my efforts for every look and feel I want to use.

CRM - change the selection fields in standard extractor

Hello everyone!
I would like to change the selection parameters for the DataSources 0CRM_SRV_PROCESS_H and 0CRM_SRV_CONTRACT_H in order to include the field CHANGED_AT. However, in the DataSource definition this field appears grayed out (even in process mode).
Is there any way I could change this?
If not, I was thinking about appending a custom field with the the same information and include this in the selection criteria. Would this work?
If not, could I create a generic DataSource whose function module would internally call the standard DataSources own FM with the standard selection criteria and then filter it out further with my own criterion?
Performance is not really an issue here.

Can I change the select option text for pnp ldb ?

I am using a pnp logical database in my report and I have created my own hr category because i wanted to use field ename from the ldb in the selection screen. Now the problem with ename is I cant do a case sensitive search.
So I have replaced it with sname, so now my screen has sname instead of ename, however I want to change the selection text for select option ( at present it is 'EE name can be sorted' )

I guess the text cannot be changed.. anyways you can add the field as an additional field by normal coding in your report

while executing web report we are getting a selection screen initially.
1.problem is when we want to change the selections how to procedure after .
when i went to variable screen it is filtering the exciting report. but i want to change the selection.
2.when i run the query in Excel i can see the report as below
                        Cust1      Mat1      100
                        Cust1      mat2       20
but when i run in web it is showing as below
                     Cust1     Mat1   100
                                  Mat2     20
how can i get Cust1 for both Mat1&Mat2 in Web

This is Ram, i have been watching this Thread, and tried to solve this problem in the Web to one of my query which i have created for testing purpose.
See dont have much knowledge on WAD, but as the main owner was doing in his case , i am also doint the same way :
Ex: i created the query in the query designer and there i know each and very property how to supress the repeated key etc etc, and i know it even in the Web browzer.
However what i do is i open the query and click on change query and my query is displayed in the query designer and from there you click on the check mark in the top left for executing the query, but insteard of that click on the icon which takes you to the BROWZER.
I usually do like that, but what you told in WAD i did not understand it at all, so can you give me more steps on how to open that in WAD and make the settings please...

Get the range table of your selection field as below
          data lt_range_table type ref to data.
          wd_this->m_handler->GET_RANGE_TABLE_OF_SEL_FIELD(
                    exporting
                    i_id = 'VBELN'
                    receiving
                    rt_range_table = lt_range_table ).
Update the selection field with new description - 'Your New Text'
          wd_this->m_handler->UPD_SELECTION_FIELD(
                    exporting
                         I_ID = 'VBELN'
                         I_DESCRIPTION = 'Your New text'
                         I_IS_AUTO_DESCRIPTION = abap_false
                         IT_RESULT = lt_range_table ).
You can also pass the other parameters as per your requirement
