Changing the size of font in the sidebar

Do any of your 'mac-gurus' know of a way to increase the size of the font in the side bar? I know one is able to increase the size of the folders, applications, etc but I'd love to find a way to increase the size of the 'home,' 'applications,' 'music,' "iPhoto," etc.
Any help would be appreciated. I'm exhausted trying to find it on my own.

I don't know how reliable this information is, but it might (sadly) put a stop to your searching. It appears that we'll have to wait until 10.6 to have this particular bit of control.

Change the size and style of the menu

How can I change the size and font on the automatically created menu in iWeb?
I cannot select it like other text on the site..

The words under pictures on the photo pages are also part of the template. What you see is the default.
But you can change this. You can change the font, font size and font color. Just hightlight it by dragging the cursor over it and select font to change the font and size. And you can use the color wheel to change the color

Edit: if you choose a large font you may have to adjust the space between the pictures. This can be done in the inspector. Just play with it to see what works.

Changing the size of fonts in InDesign's menus and toolbars?

Is it possible to change the size of fonts in InDesign's menus and toolbars? I'd love for the Control Panel at the top to be a bit easier to read.

Thanks Bob, didn't see it anywhere but figured it was worth asking. I think the size is a little biased toward people with better vision than me but I guess I'll have to live with that.

In past versions of FireFox there was a view option that allowed a change in size of fonts and objects on the screen temporarily on the fly. This seems to be missing from version 6.

You can use "Ctrl +" and "Ctrl -" to zoom pages quickly and "Ctr 0" (zero) to reset the page zoom.

There are also page zoom buttons in the toolbar palette in the Customize window that you can drag on a toolbar.

Is it possible to increase the size of everything on the display (All fonts, icons, menu bars, etc) at once without changing the screen resolution?

I have a user with a new 27" Mac who is very.... specific... with how she wants things. She says she needs the displayed size of everything on her computer increased as everything is too small. I tried changing the resolution to 1920x1080, which she stated was around the size she wants, but this will not work for her since things aren't crystal clear and she says it hurts her eyes to view it like this.
I come from a Windows background so I assumed there would be a way to simply increase the display size of everything in one shot. If not, what hoops will I need to jump through to have this adjusted for every application on the machine?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OS X doesn't have a UI size increase ability like what you expect on Windows, it's been a long complaint of Mac users for ages, but Apple simply refuses to listen.

I have a web browser solution here, the other opiton is to use a scroll wheel/head mouse and a Universal Access "control" key to press while scolling with the mouse up and down to zoom in/out where the mouse is pointed or some other trackpad etc arrangement.

When using Mac Mail the fonts all appear very small. How do I make everything larger so it is easier to work with but not huge when the receiver gets the email?

You can make some font adjustments in Mail's preferences - Fonts and Colors. You can make on-the-fly changes to display fonts in Mail by pressing COMMAND and + or COMMAND and - to increase or decrease size, respectively. You can also use the Style option of the Format menu to do the same thing.

Anyone know how to change the size of PDFs in the iBooks library?

I was wondering if there was a way to increase the size of the thumbnails for PDFs in the iBooks library on your iPad. It's hard to read them at this default size and just about every other app in creation (several of them modeled after OSX's own file folder display system) will allow you to zoom in on thumbnails or change the orientation so that they are grouped in a way that makes them easier to see. My kingdom for a slider-majigger at the bottom of the screen!
Anyway, does my request make sense? Also, am I missing something, or is that feature just not available?

You can adjust the time of each slide in the slideshow settings, which you'll find above the thumbnails of the slides when you open the photo album on the Apple TV.
Note, not all of the slideshow options have time settings.

Hey all, recently I’ve been struggling to read the system fonts on Yosemite. I need to squint in order to see texts. For example, the font at the top left of the screen where the ‘Apple logo’ is it’s hard for me to read the text. I’ve got a 21.5inch LED monitor.
In Finder, I’ve increased the text size to 16, which is the highest number. How can I increase it beyond 16 size font?

Can you change the size subject field on the voice over for like reading the news paper

i been playing around with the functions on my mac and i discoverd "voice over" a little annoying cause it just verbalizes everything, but i thought it would be kinda cool to have it read me the paper in the morning while i drink coffee and get ready for the day. however it only reads a small suject field one at a time .i was wondering if you can expand the size of the subject field to encompass more text if you know what i mean

You cannot change the PIc size of the Buddy on the Buddy List or in the Messages (Chat) window.
In the View Menu you can turn off the Buddy Pics (Depending if the Buddy List or Messages window is the "Front" one when you use that Menu).
